Powers: Ability to create and control undead, and significant power over something termed "Shadow Magic." She also seems capable of flight.

Other: Jin is accompanied by a strange ghostly serpent entity called Ezikiel. Ezikiel remains invisable to most unless they are near death or of significant attunement to the realm of death. Their relationship is strange in that neither have dominance over the other, but is possibly symbiotic, though the details of this relationship are not quite understood. They seem completely inseperable by any known means.

Known Backstory:

Jin was Mistakenly Transported to this world by Portal Corp. Upon arrival, she had killed several scientists who she belived to have purposely abducted her. She could have killed more if it weren't for the interference for a hero team that quickly defeated her and had her contained in the Zig. Upon her escape, she swore vengence on Paragon and its heroes, though some have begun to suspect her attitudes have changed slightly over time.

Delta Rae
Real Name: Katrina Rae Ellision
Hometown: Aransas Pass, TX
Age: 27
Eyes: Green
Skin: Green
Hair: Blonde
Height: 5'8"
Group Affiliations: The Guardian Angels

Powers: Radiation-based, powers in flux (see below)

Katrina Rae Ellison was once happy working as a junior scientist at Crey Biotech, spending her work time on research, and her off-duty hours whooping it up in what she considers to be the best city on earth... certainly a far cry from Aransas Pass. At least there weren't any cows here, or too many people who constantly smelled of shrimp.

Her research involved the use of carefully modulated radiation in a suspended mutagen solution to promote tissue regeneration - The "Medi-Gel" project. It was going well, well enough in fact that it attracted the attention of the Malta Group.

They raided her lab, and the ensuing firefight between Malta and the heroes that came to stop them ended with her lab demolished, her work all but destroyed, the Medi-Gel tank ruptured, and her lying on the floor in a puddle of the gel and her own blood, a matched set of holes through her temples from the ricochet of one of the heroes' bullets as it ruptured the tank.

That's when she met Azriel, or Thanatos ("Call me Tony"), an Angel of Death who had gone mildly insane and decided that he really, really needed a holiday, and saw in Katrina an opportunity to make it a permanent vacation. He offered her a deal: She got to come back to life, with super-powers that would've taken effect on her corpse had she not been shot in the head, with a subconscious compulsion to hunt down and avenge herself on the one who had killed her.

Of course, there were a couple of catches. One, when she did finally avenge her own death, Death would essentially switch places with her and inhabit her body until such time as the body expired. Two, Death would still get to take the wheel on occasion and 'test drive' her. And finally Third, her soul got kept Otherside as collateral - she could have it back when her part of the bargain was concluded.

There were a couple of "gotchas" as well: While she thought she'd have until she killed the hero that shot her, Death corrected her assumption: It would only be until said hero died. The other zinger was that she wouldn't even remember making the deal in the first place.

Now, she walks the earth, a living dead girl who doesn't age, and doesn't know why. Doesn't have to eat or breathe, but thinks it's because of her mutation. Who doesn't notice that cats stare at her, dogs cringe from her, and people with psychic abilities seem uneasy around her, their heads full of black noise. Who feels empty, and isn't sure what it will take to feel fulfilled again. Meanwhile, her powers continue to fluctuate in ability and type, indicating that something else may be coming in her future.

And meanwhile, Tony waits, watches, and plans.

The Laughing Jester

The Laughing Jester

Real Name: Unknown
Age: 19-35??
Eyes: Green
Skin: White
Hair: Painted-Bright Green and shoulder-length.
Height: 6'5
Villain Archtype: Mastermind
Appearance: As the 'villain name' suggests, this Villain is dressed up like a comical jester from medieval times.. with colorful red and dark purple patterns with a Dark Eye face paint over his eyes, making him look like he has the most tired eyes in the world. Only thing that stands out however, is the fact that the red on his 'colorful' suit is dried blood, and that he seems to be with a intimidating grin all the time.
Weapons: Endless supply of bombs, guns, thugs, and items used for Anarchic Terror. He also is good at fighting hand to hand, although not the best at it. He wields a rusty Flint-lock pistol, that seems to not have been fired for centuries. Officials say that when that pistol is fired, due to its old old age, it will break down after the 1 bullet inside of it is fired. However, he also wields many different grenade types to use against others, including a jack-in-the-box timed explosive that has destroyed many landmarks.

Villain Files - File 333
CAUTION: Information within this file is strictly confidential, and should only be viewed by Registered Heroes.
The Laughing Jester is truly unknown. No one is sure where he came from, his name, his reasons for terror, his age... but it is known that this man is a man who cares only for the reason to eradicate 'Order'. The Laughing Jester was captured only once, after he blew up a traffic-filled highway. This file contains the study of the jester, written by a person who's name is Dr. Ronald Monran. The Jester has committed many crimes, but was finally thought to be caught and done with. When they went to interrogate him, to find out how much Lord Recluse was paying him and what his plans were, he replied saying he didn't work for him. He said that he did it because he felt the order of the world needs to be turned into Chaos. After extensive pointless and un-cooperative attempts for interviews.. The Jester was diagnosed as a Insane person. He, however, ended up breaking out of the insane asylum he was put in, by stabbing a security guard in the eye with a fork, and escaping using only the security's gun, keys, and that same fork. The Jester is currently wanted for all the mass murders and destruction he has caused. He has a distinctive, loud laugh that intimidates even the bravest of heroes, and he cares not for his life, or any human life for that matter. This writing of the file is basically done. There is no background checks on this villain, for he has no backround to begin with.

-Dr. Ronald Monran

Me - Lol, this is a character I made in City Of Villains, to be like a Joker from batman type of thing.

Name: Jerome Suale
AKA: Crakkul
Age: 26
Scrapper: Elec/regen/body

Jerome Suale was a French-Canadian Scientist, working at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. His assignment was to create antimatter generators, which had failed at Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge. The first amazing happening in Suale's life was the succesful creation of the antimatter generator. It was kept in the Institute, not intended to be released to the world. The word was put out that it was a failure, and that no-one else should attempt to create it. The leading scientists actually killed some scientists to make it seem dangerous.

The reality was that it was a success, and Jerome was awarded with the job of checking up on it everyday. Each day, as regular as clockwork, at the strick of the sixteenth minute past two o'clock in the afternoon, it was stop working, and would continue working at nineteen past. The reason was not found, but it just was. And so Jerome checked. Each day, every day.

However, on the 9th of January, 2004, the accident occurred. It was 14:20 by the clock on the wall of the generator room. And the generator was still not working. Jerome was worried, and was about to call the lead scientist, when the generator exploded, knocking out Jerome.

When he came to, the head scientist was standing over his body. He was in the "Red Room", what the students called the morgue at the Institute.

"Where am I?"

That was the first thing Jerome said. He regretted it immediately, as it was too cliche.

"The Red Room. You took quite a hit there, I'm surprised you survived it."

That was the lead scientist.

"We moved you in here because the students were talking too much. Better just to say your dead. Oh yeah, you're fired."

That was the last sentence Jerome heard leave the lead scientist's lips. Distraught he cried out. A jolt of electricity blasted out of his body and struck the lead's chest, killing him instantly.

Jerome was ****ing himself now. He had been fired for God knows why, and he had killed the lead scientist somehow. He had to get out. The huge glass window was asking for it.

He ran without thinking twice. No one could blame him, he was in deep ****. The window broke instantly beneath his weight, and he found himself falling, thinking "In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have done that." He had just enough time to say that, before blacking out. Again.

When he came to this time, there was no one and a load of glass around. There was blood too, about a pint, but there was no sign of a cut on his body. He stood up and ran, never looking back.

Jerome Suale took up a new life in Paragon City, where he found help among the heroes of Atlas Park. Now working as a city official, he has given up on Technology and Science, but the haven't given up on him. The Freakshow took an immediate interest in him, and attempted to capture him. He fought them off, and eventually had to take up the handle of Crakkul so that he could dispatch of them quietly without arousing suspicion.

He can often be found in Atlas Park's city hall, and once had to fight himself in Recluse's Victory. He came out victorious and returned, but which one it is, no one knows...

Back story:

Despite being the son of one of Paragon City's many heroes, Terry did not possess any supernatural powers or abilities at birth. While growing up Terry idolized his father and dreamed of fighting alongside him when he was older. In order to achieve his goal and make up for his lack of super powers Terry trained daily in many aspects of hand to hand combat. (Mainly boxing) During Terry's teenage years his goal was about to be realized. His father had invited him to fight alongside him in some of the simpler missions. Under the name The Red Hawk, Terry and his father Gray Sparrow became famous among gang members in Kings Row as a powerful crime fighting duo. However this would not last long. Around a year after having begun fighting crime Terry had become dissatisfied with the idea of remaining nothing more than a sidekick. Having received a tip that a local bank was about to be robbed by Hellions Terry headed off alone in order to prove that he was not just a sidekick but a full fledged hero. Unfortunately upon arrival Terry found that the tip was false, he was not facing a rag-tag group of Hellions robbing a bank but an organized platoon of Arachnos soldiers. Outnumbered and outclassed Terry found himself severely injured after defeating only a few of what seemed like an endless supply of soldiers. Before the final blow was struck a shroud of black fog swept into the bank and clouded Terry's vision as well as that of the Arachnos Soldiers. Using the cover to his advantage Terry rolled out of the way as he heard a familiar voice rise up above the sound of the occasional gunshot.

Seems I got here just in time. You know better than to run off on your own. Now it's time to clean up your mess.

Terry still couldn't see more than a couple of feet ahead of him but he could hear what was going on. The Soldiers were firing randomly as his father began picking them off with his fire blasts. A few minutes and numerous screams and thuds later the dark shroud that had enveloped the bank began to dissipate but Terry could not see his father. Despite his injuries Terry scrambled to his feet and began to look for his father whom he later found on the floor behind a pile of soldiers

Da....I mean Sparrow, are you ok?

Well I'm alive but I'm afraid I can't move my legs. I think one of the bullets they fired off into the darkness managed to hit me in the spine.

Terry fell silent. His actions had left his father paralyzed....it was all his fault but he didn't mean for things to end this way.

Come on now; help old Sparrow back to safety before the media arrives.

Terry kneeled down to allow his father to climb onto his back before fleeing the scene as quick as possible in hopes that if he was quick enough the family doc (A hero himself) would be able to assist his father. However the words that the doctor told his father later that day did not bring comfort but a grief that still hounds Terry to this day.

I'm sorry Greg; these were no ordinary bullets you were hit with. They managed to completely sever your spine in multiple places. You had a good run all these years but I'm afraid it's time to hang up your cowl, focus on enjoying yourself you know. Crime fighting....it's just not for you anymore.

Fraught with grief over the end of his father's career as a hero, Terry promised to both rid Paragon City of crime and to never be put in a situation where someone would have to lose everything to save him. In order to achieve this goal Terry would need more than just raw fighting talent. With his father's permission Terry used his father's DNA to create a serum which if successful would infuse his body with super powers similar to those of his fathers. With nothing to lose Terry injected himself with the serum and awaited the results. A few days later the serum proved to be a success when Terry was able to create a small ball of fire in his palm but there was no sign of any darkness related powers. In order to relieve his frustration and not having a complete set of powers Terry hit the gym where he began laying into his favorite punching bag.

1,2,3

1,2,3

1,2,3.....

The final punch sent the punching bag flying across the gym and left Terry in a state of awe. After consultation with his father he learned that rather than being able to manipulate darkness like his father he had obtained the energy manipulation skills his grandfather had possessed. With his new found powers The Red Hawk was dead and from the ashes rose The Red Phoenix.

~2 years later~

Terry continued to avenge his father under the guise of The Red Phoenix but all was not well. Despite his continued improvement in ranged fire based attacks and close range energy strikes Terry was beginning to notice a decrease in his stamina, even when compared to a few years ago (Terry had switched from a Scrapper to a Blaster). To rectify this problem and to further his effectiveness as a hero Terry, alongside his father and some family friends began development on a technologically sophisticated power suit which promised to help mitigate some of the damage Terry took as well as well equipping him for many different situations.

Suit Details
Visor: 4 Modes, Normal, Binoculars, Thermal and Visual Sonar
Normal: Allows data to be brought up on targets in Terry's Line of Sight.
Binoculars: Same as normal with increased magnification
Thermal: Displays heat signature just like a regular pair of thermal goggles.
Visual Sonar: Uses the antennae on the side of the helmet to emit a high frequency sound wave which is then translated into a visual image once the sound bounces back to the antennae. Similar to thermal but has the advantage of not being blinded by massive heat signatures while also possessing the disadvantage of not being able to detect anything hidden behind solid objects.

Power: Powered by an obscure orange gem located on the chest

Communication: Antennae are also used to pick up communication from a variety of sources including the police radio and other heroes or villains.

AI: The suit comes preloaded with an AI named Phoebe which provides situational analysis and any data that is possessed on various enemies, allies and locations. Phoebe communicates directly through the suit and can only be heard by the one wearing it. Terry communicates with Phoebe through thought. Phoebe also possesses the ability to control the suit by herself should Terry faint during combat.

Voice: The suit can distort Terry's voice if he deems it necessary

Name: Garjzla
Gender: male
Age: unknown believed to be born at 27 A.D but since he has stopped aging it is impossible to tell
Height/Weight: 5'9"/115 lbs
Eye color: black but changes with mood
Hair color: long black but changes with mood
Skin color: black but changes with mood

Background
Garjzla is believed to be born in 27 A.D but as stated above it is impossible to tell. What little is known about him was gathered by a farmer who found him lying in a canyon with deep lacerations with the remnants of a furred creature strewn about him and was recorded by a scribe in the court of a king, whose name remains unknown. The rest was added almost a thousand years later by the only woman he is known to have consorted with.

Garjzla, based on the descriptions in the bible, is the anti-christ but in origin only. He was born of a demon father and an angelic mother and was raised by a priest for an uneventful 15 years (if the priest knew of his origins he never showed it) as far as is known he is the only one of his kind however he has encountered "shadow walkers" which are creatures that are able to dwell in both the realm of the demons and that of humans. What Garjzla's original name is he never revealed but his current one is a word from the combined languages of demons and angels and roughly translated means "light in the darkness." around the time of his sixteenth birthday farmers in the countryside had begun to tell tales about missing cattle and sheep. At first the numbers missing were small but eventually they began to rise to the point that a dear friend of his adoptive father grew near to being unable to support his family and begged the help of Garjzla's father. His father had been spending several nights with the farmer to attempt to find the culprit but was rarely ever able to get more than a glimpse of it. What he had seen he described as being an enormous wolf that traveled like an ape. Much of the record of this time has disintegrated but what we can make out suggests that Garjzla witnessed a gruesome murder of his father by the beast and flew into an incredible rage and for the first time in his life manifested the awesome power of the netherworld and drove the foul creature into the forest where it attempted to escape. In his rage Garjzla foolishly chased it until he stumbled into a clearing that appeared to be the creatures home. Unfortunately the events in the clearing are skipped over and they pick up again when Garjzla is found by the farmer and brought to court to be judged for the murder of his father. After his "hearing" he was brought to a jail to await his execution where he apparently escaped and brutally murdered the guards. The only trace was a bit of short black hair ripped out and clutched in a guards hand. This is the only record of him ever recovered until he enlisted in the vanguard to repel rikti invaders and was one of the few surviving members of alpha team after their frontal assault on the main rikti foce.

In the beginning the universe was created, this upset many people and is widely regarded as a bad idea.

Dont hate the minty freshness

Meaning he would have to learn it all over again, luckilly he took notes before hand and decided to re-train himself. He currently resides in Rogue Island working for several employees, including Arachnos...

Name: Dracos Nightweaver
Archetype: Scrapper
Primary: Dark Melee
Secondary: Dark Armor

So how does a Vampiric Knight become a super hero you might ask? For that matter how did I become a Vampiric Knight, a weaver of the night magic, the energy of the Netherworld? I could start with my first life, one that seems to have been ages ago. But no, while that life is important, for it shaped who I became, it isn't really the origin of my powers and my becoming Dracos Nightweaver. All I will say about my past is that I was once human, a lost soul who attempted to follow the Pagan Way.

I do not recall how old I was when the accident occurred. I never have been able to learn the truth about what happened but then I am not even sure if I could. It was a freak train of accidents that caused a chain reaction of events. It first began in an alternative universe, one in which super heroes existed, and a city called Paragon City. There existed an organization of villains, called the Circle of Thorns, vile sorcerers and wizards who used the dark arts to further their own malevolent ends. It was on the night of a new moon that they performed a rare and dangerous ritual to summon a Nether Lord, one of the most powerful of the ancient entities of the Netherverse.

I must digress here for a moment to explain. The Nether, as it was called, was the realm of negative energy (as opposed to the positive version), the underworld that lost souls traveled on their way to their final destination. It was integrated and touched upon all planes of existence. It was the dark matter that helped to hold the Universe together. Many thought of it as evil, but like most places it is a place of neutrality, filled with both good and bad. While it did lean towards a darker aspect it was one that was required for existence.

Deep in the Nether, the Nether Lord felt the first binding of the spell, and he laughed as he prepare to break it off, and send a backlash to their spell that would destroy them all for their hubris. Yet his spell failed and he felt the binding becoming stronger. Reaching out with his senses he saw why, they had found an ancient artifact of great power, one that belonged to an Elder God. He realized it could indeed bind him. Still he was a Nether Lord and not without resources so he began to look for a weakness in the spell being cast, anything that he could twist to escape. Then he found it, the artifact did not require him specifically, it was aimed at controlling any of the greater entities of the Nether. It was the spell of the Thorn Wizards that was targeted as his true name. He might be able to fool the wizards spell but he would still need to satisfy the artifacts binding. His powers becoming more restricted he began to search ... but of course the other Nether entities had sensed the spell and were giving him a wide berth. It was then he noticed a soul, one lost and not of this plane ... perhaps ...

I do not know when I had died, at least I had assumed I must have. I was formless, floating in darkness, although not total darkness. I could sense rivers of energy all around me, lights that sparkled like distant stars, and large dark masses that I could somehow sense. Yet I knew I had died and my soul was ... somewhere. I could only assume my mind was trying to make sense out of a reality I could not comprehend, basing it on my own expectations and personal beliefs. At least it was peaceful. I seemed to float for an eternity ... but I had no sense of any real time. I drifted in and out of awareness until it happened. I felt another mind, or what I had to assume was a mind as it felt totally alien to me, probing me. I felt a force grab a hold of my consciousness, pulling me rapidly towards something.

Thus it was that I met the Nether Lord, one of the rulers of the Netherworld. While fearsome in appearance I sensed on radiant sense of evil, or good, from him. In a mix of words, thought, images, emotion and he transferred what was happening to me, and offered me a deal. He said he did not have the authority to stop me from reaching my eventual destination on my way through the underworld of the Nether, although I noted he also refrained from mentioning what that final destination actually would be. However he could offer me an alternative choice. I could replace him in the spell that was summoning him. To make it effective he would transfer sliver of his being (his soul if it could be called that) into me, transforming me into a creature of the Nether just enough to confuse the spell being cast.

Of course my first thought was why would I want to do that only to become a slave to the Wizards. He indicated the spell would not properly bind me since I was not its true target. He would imbue me with all of his remaining energy, energy that would explode out of me when I crossed over into Paragon City, destroying the wizards. In return I would become his avatar, able to cross back and forth between the Nether and other worlds, and able to weave the energy of the nether at my will.

All of this occurred at the speed of thought. There was no deception that I could tell since both our minds were open, our souls touching on some otherworldly level, which I knew was the only way this entity could carry out his plan. I still don't know why I agreed. Perhaps I was being misled, or guided to do it. I just knew it felt right.

With the bargain sealed the Nether Lord, who I began to refer to as Acheron, wasted no time. We merged, briefly, almost becoming one, as he transferred the barest sliver of his essence into me, merging it with my own soul. It was strong but small enough it did not overwhelm me. Instead I gained knowledge, insight, and some deep transformation of the mind and soul that helped me understand the working of the Nether and a deeper understanding of true reality. Then with a rush his power poured into me and I lost consciousness.

When I came to I was no longer in the Nether. I was in a building of sorts, around me were the decimated bodies of what I could only assume were the remains of the Thorn Wizards. Apparently the plan had worked, although the energy had been to much for my feeble mind to manage and I had blacked out. I felt incredibly weak and exhausted. Yet exhilarated as I knew I had form again, an actual body. I could feel, just out of touch, the world of the Nether and knew when I had rested I could call on its power. Overtime I felt I could master it, becoming more powerful and able to use it more fully.

As I stood, breathing hard, I heard a shout, someone yelling for help. Looking around I saw a corridor an the shouting was coming from there. Walking somewhat unsteadily I headed down the corridor. I doubted it was one of the wizards, clearly the backlash of Acherons spell had wiped everyone involved with the spell out. More likely it was one of their victims. Indeed, as I went around the corner I entered a large open room to find a scared and angry man tied to what looked like some sacrificial altar. Probably some part of the ritual I assumed. After questioning him briefly I set about freeing him, cutting him free of the ropes that bound him. As I did I could not help but notice he was not only naked but extremely well defined and muscular. I felt my interest perk and was happy to note that even though I was a partial creature of the Netherworld that I apparently still had all the right equipment, and desires, of a human.

I discovered his name was Brock, and that he was called The Nightwatchman, and was an agent of M.A.G.I. (Modern Arcane Guild of Investigation), sent to find out what the Circle of Thorn was planning. Even though he was a superhero in this world the magic of the Circle had been enough to dampen his natural abilities and overwhelm him. He had found the Circle had been using the blood of heroes to power their spell. Luckily both the Circle, and the artifact, had been destroyed.

At this point my tale is almost done. Having no where to go Brock took me under his wing, taking me home and teaching me about this world. I joined M.A.G.I. as one of their agents as well, partnered with Brock whose powers worked best at night, much like my own. As fate would have it (or perhaps some other power) I found Brock also shared my desires and we became partners in more than just our duties to M.A.G.I.

I also discovered my body was not fully human either, although I was pleased that Acheron had saw fit to provide me with an impressive and handsome body, muscular and well formed. Still it was clear to all I was not fully human. My skin was tinged with the Nether energies, giving it a pale gray color. On my chest Acheron had branded me as his servant, the symbol of Anarchy. My ears had a definite vampiric cast to them, perhaps Acheron had pulled that from my own internal fascination with Vampires. For I also had their fangs and traditional midnight black hair.

Acheron soon contacted me, once he had rebuilt the strength to do so. He asked that I spend some time on this world seeking out and destroying all the Thorn Circles and making sure no more artifacts remained. It was considered corruption of the highest order what the Thorn Wizards were doing with the Nether energies. As Acherons new Avatar it was my mission to protect the Nether.

All that remained was my "custom", as Brock pointed out all heroes needed a costume. For whatever reason I felt clothes confining, especially on my chest. For some reason the symbol of Acheron was attuned to my powers and when it was covered it took more effort to summon forth my dark energies. I was also a scrapper, a fighter focused on speed and quick powerful blows. Any type of clothing restricted my movement. Since I seemed to not be bothered by extremes of hot or cold I decided to go shirtless. For pants I choose tight fitting but stretchable leather, enchanted with numerous spells to make them durable and strong. I did the same with boots, going with steel shod biker boots that added extra damage in my melee fighting. Around my waist I wore a police belt that held various magical tools and instruments used in my duties as a member of M.A.G.I.

And, thus it was that Dracos Nightweaver was born. A Vampiric Knight of the Netherworld, Avatar of Acheron and protector of lost souls.

Self Description:
I am a Half-Human, Half-Cat mix. I was a top-secret government experiment lead by top scientist, A.Wong. He has since created a few more human/cat hybrids, and affectionately call all of us "his children". I was privately educated, because I was different looking than the average human. They taught me all the correct mannerisms to be as human as possible, but I still have some feline habits. I wanted to go out in the real world, and had heard about this place called Paragon City, where there were many different Heroes, all different. I thought I would fit in Puurfectly, and now I help fight crime.

Mew I am Half-Kat, Half-Human. I was created in a small lab, lead by top scientist A.Wong, with technology rivaling Crey, but for good purposes. I was raised and privately schooled, in a place where there were other mutant/experiemental humans/etc. After I graduted High School, I found Paragon City University, which is where I'm currently studying bio-technology. This is my sophomore year at Paragon City, and I have met many different mutant/magic/technology experimental breeds of human combinations. Myself being Half-Kat, I have the agility and balance of a Cat. The Half-Human part of me loves to swim, and loves to go to the dance club, you will find me any weekend at Pocket D tearing up the dance floor. I have very close friends in my Super Group, The Stray Kats, many of whom are my mentors and I look up to them. I am enjoying my time in Paragon City and hope to help fight crime and make things right. Mew.

I am A.Wong, lead scientist and creator of Kattyia and Katana Katty. I was born and grew up around Chicago, IL. I went to college, and graduated, and initially got offered a job at Crey in Paragon City. I took that, and worked there for a few years. I then found out that Crey was not supporting heroes as they said they were, and I decided to branch off and create my own lab and team. We had the idea that combining human and cat DNA we would have a human with extra quick reflexes and agility. Of course they still retained some strange cat behavior, like meowing and purring, and occasionally grooming themselves. Otherwise, they are wonderful creatures, and I am very proud of them.

When growing up around Chicago, IL, I always had an interest in blades and bladed weapons. I started collecting them at a very young age, then decided that I would like to train in them. I trained in them for most of my life, and when I went to Paragon city, I continued, and I help fight crime when I am not working in my lab.

Name: Polynom
Real Name: Unknown
Gender: Male
Age: Indeterminable
Archetype: Blaster
Powerset: Assault Rifle/Devices

Little is known about Polynom's early life, what is known is that he was born in Paragon City in the 1920's. He patrolled the streets of Paragon taking down organized crime and drug lords in the late 1930's and was seen fighting the Fifth Column along with Statesman in World War II when Paragon City was attacked. During this battle he was shot and killed and his body was lost in the depths of Paragon Bay. Years later during the Xindi invasion his body was discovered by the Xindi. It was recovered and examined due to the amount of sophisticated technology it carried despite its age. They created a clone body and placed Polynom's consciousness in it in an attempt to replicate the anti-magic implants Polynom had developed. However the body could not be controlled as the Xindi had planned and Polynom escaped. He made his way back to Paragon City and registered himself as a hero. He has no real super-powers save for his cunning intellect and skills with machinery. He has developed several devices to aid him in battling super-powered foes and often remarks how times have changed since he first was a hero.

Name: Ponder Stibbons
Gender: Male
Archetype: Mastermind
Powerset: Demon Summoning/Traps
Based on a fictional character from the Discworld Novels of Terry Pratchett

Ponder Stibbons is a wizard, of sorts, at the Unseen University, most of his time is spend at the High Energy Magic Building where he conducts many experiments. One day it went horribly wrong. Or at least more horribly wrong then usually.

He was meddling with time and space to prove that apples and oranges can indeed be compared.* When putting the subjects into the space-time-continuum-breaker he tripped and fell into it himself, losing consciousness. Dizzy and full of vitamins from colliding with the apple and the orange, he found himself in a basement filled with demons. The demons were discussing something.

“What should we do with him?”
“Can I eat him?”
“No! How can we find a place in society if you keep eating humans!?”
“I think the proper way to do this is to ask if he’s all right”
“… maybe just a leg?”
“Euh… are you all right Puny Huma… I mean… valuable member of society?”
“… or a foot perhaps?” “Shut up”
“Yeah, I’m alright I guess” Ponder replied and kicked the demon that was chewing on his foot.
After some introductions and a long talk Ponder Stibbons found out he was on a round ball of rock called earth.** There are a lot of demons on this world, all living underground, being feared and hunted by the humans that live above. This small band of demons won’t have it anymore and want to be part of society with equal rights. Ponder Stibbons agrees to help them achieve that goal and together they push for the Demons Equal Value In Life Act or DEVIL Act in short. Activities include holding protest signs, handing out pamphlets and shouting slogans. Also fighting crime because it's good for their image.

*A comparison of the 4000—400 cm-1 (2.5—25 5 um) infrared transmission spectra of a Granny Smith Apple and a Sunkist Navel Orange did actually prove this.
**Coming from a flat world balanced on the backs of four elephants which, in turn, stand on the back of a giant turtle, this idea of a huge ball of rock was strange to say the least. It should be a balancing act just to stay on top of the damn thing.

Name: Essentially unknown but this is a simplification as will be explained below.
Aliases: Alquist, Alquist One, Alquist 1, Al, A-1
Age: 2 years as a cyborg, 25 as a human
Message board threads: None yet.
Origin, archetype and powers: A technological mastermind with robotic assistants and bow launched defensive weapons.
Server: Virtue
Current thread: Whitmoore Apartments

In another universe, on another Earth, in the capital of the Global Imperial State of Praetoria, there was a mildly eccentric robotics engineer with a promising career ahead of him.

But this was cut short after an industrial accident mangled and crippled his body. Not one to accept the whims of fate and chance, this engineer, faked suicide and then paid for illegal surgery to transplant his brain into a robot body to begin a new life. After the operation, he cut all ties with his old life. He was never very happy as a human being anyway.

This surgery was illegal for several reasons but the chief of which was that it was performed by doctors loyal to terrorist groups campaigning against Praetorian authority. The surgery was expensive. The engineer owed Calvin Scott's Resistance a great debt.

Taking his new name from an obscure character in the famous Czech play RUR, Alquist One became a Resistance mole within the Praetorian Powers Division. Despite several successful missions, Alquist's subversion was discovered and he is now a criminal on the run from the Emperor's Law. Luckily, the Resistance provided him a way to flee to the universe of Paragon's Earth. There he hopes to thwart Emperor Cole's invasion plan and perhaps one day reform Praetorian Earth into a more democratic society. He is also providing his talents to aid Paragon City and the United States in maintaining order and combating superhuman crime. He hopes to prove to the people of Paragon Earth that not all Praetorians are bent on invasion, occupation and dictatorship.

Because Preatorian Earth's robotic technology is slightly more advanced than Paragon Earth's Alquist was able to secure several minor but valuable patents. He is using the money from these to build alternate robot bodies to house his brain in.

Alquist is odd. In more than two years as a cyborg, he become a friendly but mocking and often patronizing misanthrope. Which is to say, he often points out the disadvantages of the human condition, mocking such requirements as waste elimination, sleep, libido and so on. He also states his long term plan to replace all the organic neurons in his brain with artificial ones. He hopes to become a fully artificial lifeform soon and has no regrets over abandoning his old life viewing his new life as greatly superior.

Currently he has two robot bodies and to help his friends and comrades in identification, he wears a large red and white decal of the rook chess piece on his chest. This rook doesn't really mean anything. It was just a decal he had handy at the time and the tradition stuck. Because his head has no human facial features, it's often hard to tell his intent accept by vocal tones and body language. Just to be difficult, he has toyed with the idea of replacing his artificial larynx, the output of which is of superior quality and indistinguishable from a human voice, with something more primitive and toneless.

But despite all this, Alquist doesn't have any hatred for humans. On more than one occasion he has said that diversity is a good thing. If anything he seems to harbor a kind of pitying, patronizing feeling towards them, as if they were error prone children in need of his protection. Some pictures of Alquist follow:

"Civilization advances by extending the number of important operations which we can perform without thinking of them."

Name: Unknown, even to himself. He had a real name once, but it's lost, and he doesn't much care.
Alias: The Undying Enmity (Enmity for short, UE to his associates)
Profession: Assassin, retrieval expert, saboteur
Age: Unknown; by his own approximations, somewhere between 25 and 32.
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Species: Unsure. Should be human, but the technology applied to him makes this questionable.
Blood type: None.
Skin tone: Black and red
Eyes: Solid black
Hair: Dark-brown, with a hint of red
Personal features: His skin is a black-and-red suit of technologically advanced armor.
Place of birth: Burlington, Vermont (primal Earth)
Date of birth: May 11th
Hobbies: Leaning against things, topical discussions, snark

Bio:
At one time, the man who would become The Undying Enmity was one of the most infamous assassins in the northeast United States. He preferred to work with his hands, eschewing guns or poisons in favor of stealth and neck-snapping. He can no longer remember much about his life, but knows that his teen and college years were spent globetrotting and getting into heinous amounts of bizarre trouble.

Feeling the pressure of the law beginning to close in on him, he took a job from a trusted contact - a childhood friend, in fact - that was supposed to be the retirement job: something to big, so important that the pay would set him for life. He was to meet with his employer on a cargo ship, where he would be given the dossier and transport to his target's location. Instead, he was somehow knocked unconscious and awoke in the hold, bolted to a medical slab.

A masked doctor injected him with some substance while wheedling about making subservient super-soldiers. The assassin suddenly blacked out, but not before hearing the doctor scream in terror. When he awoke, he found that his skin had been replaced with a suit; his very RNA had been altered to grow the suit instead of regular dermal flesh. He could regenerate from even fatal wounds, vanish into thin air, leap massive distances, and even channel dark energies from the netherworld, but it came at a price: he hears the netherworld creatures, whispering in his ears every moment of every day. The only time they're silent is when he is fighting, when he is killing.

Adopting the title of The Undying Enmity, he decided to make this new issue work for him as best he could, and began forging a new supervillain identity. He is constantly on the lookout for new technology or medical procedures that might allow him to remove his suit, or at least control the voices and master his own powers.

Hero Profile: GI Justice
Identity: Unknown to general public
Real Name: James(Jim) Robert Jackson
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 255lbs
Age: 72(Born February 29, 1939)

The man that would become GI Justice, was born James Jackson; the son of a soldier and farmer. Even as a child, James was bright and mature; displaying great skill in Chess, among other things. In 1955, at age sixteen, he joined the United States Marine Corps, and was held in very high esteem due to his patriotism, natural leadership, and strategic affinity; and this lead to his rapid promotion to Master Sergeant. During the Vietnam War, he was selected for "Project: Harbinger"(a system and treatment with hopes of creating super-soldiers, to repel the possible threat if Statesman betrayed the US, and the threat already realized, in Lord Recluse), and was subjugated to grueling physical experimentation, and an almost impossible training regimen. At the completion of the project, he took the name "GI Justice."

GI Justice was an incredibly brilliant tactician, and knew he had to take drastic measures to inspire his fellow soldiers. With that knowledge, he was inspired to create a patriotic costume and equip himself with a reinforced steel shield, in homage to his favorite comic hero, Captain America. The United States lost their engagement with Vietnam, but GI Justice was now a household name. When he returned to the United States, he was inspired further by Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx--and took residence in Paragon City. GI Justice has been fighting for the United States since the Vietnam War--and his experience has served him, and many heroes, well.

Despite being respected as one of the most noble and diligent heroes, GI Justice could not deter the effects of time. He understood that to continue his work, he would need to continually outsmart his enemies, maintain his physical prowess, and upgrade his armament. GI Justice fought alongside the Freedom Phalanx in the Rikti War--and in one of the many battles, acquired technology of both Rikti and Kheldian origin. Scavenged from fallen Rikti, he acquired alloys used in construction of their mother ships; and with it, created a new, nigh-impervious shield. He further augmented his shield(now called the New Aegis) with Rikti anti-gravity technology, which allows for flight, when activated, and a psionic interface that allows him to control his shield from limited distances. During a conflict with the Kheldian, Requiem, GI Justice acquired a Kheldian energy matrix--and with it, enhanced his gauntlets with power capable of injuring even the sturdiest of villains.

After the war, GI Justice became a devoted member of Alpha Sector--an abstract division of the Freedom Phalanx, and as a member, completed many operations against Malta, the 5th Column, and Arachnos.

During a mission to thwart the villainous Trapdoor, GI Justice was bombarded with mysterious, black shards. The shards seemed to dissapate into his body, but they in fact, bonded with his cellular structure. These shards seemed to have no effect, at first--but after being inspected by M.A.G.I and D.A.T.A, he learned that these shards were fragments of the Well of the Furies. Over the course of a month, new abilities had manifested. These shards had returned his youth--making him as strong and as resilient as ever. Armed with this re-acquired vitality, GI Justice has increased his activities, and has again become one of the true banes of evildoers.

--Known powers and abilities: (Prior to bombardment of Incarnate shards)

- Metahuman, bordering superhuman, strength. Capable of lifting(pressing) 700lbs, with extreme effort.
- Able to resist small caliber arms fire, and non-superpowered knife wounds and blunt force trauma.
- Highly intelligent--though not posessing genius-level intellect. An expert in military strategy.
- Photographic memory.
- Able to maintain composure under extremely strenuous conditions. Incredible endurance on par with even the toughest of Olympic Gold Medalists.
- Flight.(GI Justice is able to utilize his shield to fly.)
- Highly skilled in hand to hand combat. GI Justice has nearly 60 years of experience in close quarters combat, due to training in the United States Marine Corps, and training with some of the greatest heroes the Earth has ever seen. He has trained with Manticore, and Icteriman--both heralded as some of the most talented martial artists known to man. While not nearly as skilled as either, he is more than capable of holding his own against multiple adversaries, without his equipment. He once defeated Arachnos Agents Shadow Spider and Viridian, with neither his equipment nor powers(as he was captured, and temporarily surpressed by Arachnos), in hand to hand combat. GI Justice excels in Western Boxing, and Pancration--both learned during his time in the United States Marine Corps.

--Known powers and abilities: (After bonding with Incarnate shards)

- Complete bodily rejuvenation. This has totally restored the youth and vitality of GI Justice, and has further increase his strength and resistance to harm.

- It is speculated by D.A.T.A that these shards will continue to modify GI Justice's body on a molecular level. Other adaptations are indeed possible, but for now, they serve as a perpetual fountain of youth.

--Equipment

- Armor. GI Justice wears a tri-weave body armor composed of titanium alloy, diamond, and kevlar. This armor further enhances his resistance to typical trauma, as well as giving him a measure of resistance to temperature extremes, as well as pure energy.
- Shield. GI Justice formerly utilized a reinforced steel shield that could resist many typical impacts--but he has since equipped himself with a near invulnerable shield composed of Rikti technology. This shield grants him incredible levels of protection, while giving him the ability to fly. The shield, itself, can be returned to his hand if disarmed, with this system, and the implanted psionic interface.
- Gauntlets. GI Justice calls his gauntlets "The Kheldian Regulators." These gauntlets are layered in protection, as the rest of his costume, but also include a rubber ground to prevent accidental injury. The knuckles of the gauntlets are reinforced with titanium shot, increasing his already formidable punching power. The Kheldian energy matrix that charges the gauntlets, draws its energy from solar power, making their capacity nearly limitless. These gauntlets release a very powerful ionic jolt on impact, when a clenched fist is formed; and this charge has been known to injure even "invulnerable" opponents. The matrix in these gauntlets can also be used to charge other objects(most commonly, his shield), to increase impact if used as an offensive weapon. These gauntlets also incorporate displacement equipment, which can be utilized to transport him to Ouroboros, Pocket D, or the headquarters of Alpha Sector.
- Utility belt. GI Justice sometimes employs the use of gadgets in his utility belt to further supplement his abilities. This belt contains tranquilizer rounds, a flashlight, a GPS tracking system with additional tracers, a communicator, and a highly advanced super-computer provided to him by the Freedom Phalanx.

Hero Profile: Icteriman
Identity: Secret(Unknown to even Heroes, contained in forums purely for background purposes)
Real Name: Adrian Bryce Campbell
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 196lbs
Age: 32(Born September 1, 1978)

Adrian Campbell was born in the street, and left in an orphanage. He knew neither his real name, nor his parents: But what he knew was, growing up in an orphanage was difficult, especially when you are the only African-American child in the orphanage, in the very racial town of Vidor, Texas. "******, jigaboo, thief, darkie.." These names became etched in Adrian's memory--along with the scars in his skin from the various beatings recieved at the orphanage, the school, and some even as he was walking to the convenience store.

Adrian loved to read, however; for in his mind, he was more than a bruised and broken black child; he could be anything. His love for reading began in comics; and from there, came the motivation he would need, later in life. The "real life" heroes in the world didn't care about Vidor, Texas. They were too busy fighting in the metropolitan areas to worry about what was happening, elsewhere he thought. To him, the fictional Batman was his true hero; and who he wanted to be more than anyone. How losing your parents, and living a lavish lifestyle, travelling the globe developing skills, sounded in comparison to losing your parents, and recieving beating, after beating from bullies and even adults.. It was almost a dream, although tragic to consider. He continued to study, and focus; but it seemed that he would not reach his goal. In 1989, at the age of 11, things began to change.

A troubled young man named Yoshishiro Ipponmatsu, a teenager who had migrated to the United States from Japan with his parents, had been sent to the Jesse Helms Home for Boys--and here, he met Adrian. Yoshishiro's parents had died a week before before in a tragic car accident, and with no contact information with family in Japan, he was destined to live in Vidor, as well. Yoshishiro(Shiro, as he came to be known), was not exempt from the racial bigotry of the south, as a Japanese teenager who spoke little english. The bullies and cowards who would attempt to pick on him, however, would come to regret it. Adrian watched as those who had tormented him for so long were beaten like defenseless children; for Shiro was a young master of Kyokushin Karate.

Shiro carried within him an inner peace; a discipline, that Adrian did not understand. Adrian approached Shiro and asked to be taught to fight like him; and though Shiro was apprehensive at first, he reluctantly agreed after seeing the cruelty Adrian would further be subjected to, if he couldn't defend himself. Adrian trained hard--he studied hard; and he nearly made himself stoic. He even acquired a measure of confidence in regard to girls, as when he turned 15, he asked out Julia Cooper; a girl from his class he had a crush on, for years. Shockingly, she said yes; but understood the need to be inconspicuous.

This new chapter in Adrian's life would not last long, for tragedy would soon strike. He was 16 now, and Shiro 18; with Shiro due to leave the Jesse Helms Orphanage within the month. This great day would never come, as Shiro soon mysteriously died; and the cause of death was later revealed as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a very rare disease caused by infectious proteins. With one of his only friends dead, Adrian latched on to Julia; but this increased affection came with carelessness, as some of the more fanatical racists in the area took notice. They kidnapped Julia in the night, ***** her, and ravaged her body--even painting heinous slurs on her, as they left her for dead in a field. When she was found, she had been dead for days; and when Adrian was notified, what was left of his innocence had been completely eradicated.

What was left of Adrian was no longer the starry-eyed young man with dreams of being a hero. He was now a cold, calculating individual who knew that something was terribly wrong with the world. He knew that in order to execute his plan--and change the world, he would need to act with ruthless efficiency. Adrian continued to focus, and hone his skills; leaving Vidor at 17, to train in Mexico. Adrian was homeless, but he was also relentless. Learning boxing was natural to him, and training in Monterey, Mexico, meant training with the best boxers in the world. Coaches responded to his natural affinity by letting him stay in their gyms, and he absorbed knowledge like a dry sponge absorbes water. He continued to learn--teaching himself Spanish, and even obtaining a degree in Computer Science, while earning money repairing computers to fund his lifestyle. Adrian left Mexico in 1999 at 21, and headed for Brazil.

In Brazil, Adrian would be graced with more fortune in his endeavors, as he encountered the retired super-hero, Do Rio. Do Rio was at one point a reserve member of the Freedom Phalanx--and used his superhuman strength and grappling ability with incredible success. Having trained under Helio and Carlos Gracie, Do Rio recognized potential; and trained Adrian. Do Rio became a mentor to Adrian, and the closest thing to a father that Adrian had ever had--in time, he revealed himself as a former hero. At first, Adrian hated Do Rio for not being in Vidor, but in time learned that he was a victim of circumstance. He began to understand that the giant Paragon City was an overpowering cesspool of the same hatred, intolerance, and disregard that brutalized him, and murdered his girlfriend. The invasion of the Rikti, itself, was a testament to the problems contained within that city. He began to desire to travel to Paragon, but was afraid. Throughout his life, he had been besieged by pain and death; and he felt that if the mighty Statesman could not fix Paragon City, what hope did he, a normal man, have? The threat of the Rikti invaders largely evaded Brazil, and he continued to study under Do Rio, not only in Jiu-jitsu, but now criminal science and tactical combat; but at 25, he left Do Rio and Brazil. As a child, Adrian and Shiro often discussed Japan, and he had long desired to travel there.

Adrian gathered what money he had, and travelled to Daisen, Tottori, in Japan; Shiro's place of birth. Adrian lived in the small village for two years, communicating every so often with Do Rio, and his coaches in Mexico--and one day, he saw a sign. Tottori, Japan was a place plentiful in birds; but it was very rare that one would see a black bird. In Daisen, Shiro saw such a bird; and realized that not all birds are born, nor live, equally. To him, it was clear. He desired to be the Batman; and he realized that now, he was. The pain, the training, the sign--and above all, the endurance. He knew that the world needed such a man; the world needed him, Adrian Campbell. In 2006, at 27, Adrian left Japan, and headed for Paragon City.

When he arrived in Paragon, he realized that the stories were true. This place was a gathering for the worst sorts of scum known to man. Rapists, thieves, murderers, and agents of chaos ran rampant. Trustees of modern chemistry were sighted on every corner, on every block. Having left his doubt and fear on the peaceful shores of Japan, Adrian Campbell had transcended his life of pain. He thought of his experiences, and decided that the true Adrian Campbell died in 1994; with those closest to him. He took the name Icteriman; derived from 'Icterinae', the latin translation of "black bird", and immediately commenced in derailing gangs. His enormous set of skills proved too overwhelming for even super-criminals, from Hellion to Freakshow.

Icteriman is a vicious strategist and fighter, having learned to utilize the suffering he has experienced. He has absolutely no qualms with maiming, disfiguring, or even crippling opponents--as he displayed by breaking the back of 3K Kelvin.(Kelvin has since recovered, although remains somewhat traumatized.) He will not kill, feeling a need to respect the methods of the fictional Batman, but his brutal aggression to criminals has even earned him the ire of heroes. Icteriman has stayed in contact with Do Rio, and at one point asked him why they did not travel to Paragon to battle the Rikti with Statesman. To this, Do Rio replied, "In you, I saw triumph. The potential to be the greatest of heroes, but you could serve no one, dead." Inspired with further confidence, Icteriman continues to pursue criminals. Icteriman has endured many tragedies in his life; but has managed to resist circumstances that turn men into monsters.

To criminals, however, he could be nothing but a monster. He attacks from the shadows, leaving them in fear of his return.

--Known powers and abilities:

- Icteriman posesses no actual super-powers, much like his idol, the Batman; but he has an extremely well-rounded set of skills and abilities. To criminals, however, Icteriman seems undoubtedly super-human; appearing to be an unforgiving beast, manifested from the shadows.
- Icteriman is a phenomenal athlete, considering he is a non-powered human being. He is capable of lifting(pressing) around 500lbs, with maximal effort. He is almost inhumanly agile, and can leap very high.
- Genius level intellect. Icteriman is a polymathic genius, particularly in the fields of strategy, culture, computer programming, and virtual coding. He has managed to hack into Paragon City's central teleportation HUB, allowing him to teleport, at his convenience. He is fluent in English, Japanese, Spanish, Portoguese, and Latin.
- Icteriman is one of the greatest martial artists the world has ever seen. He has trained with the best fighters, spanning three continents. He has trained other heroes to be exceptional in the martial arts, as well, but his own skill seems inhuman. His strikes are simply devastating--honed from years of conditioning, and capable of shattering bones and steel, with ease.

--Equipment

- Armor. Icteriman wears a heavily modified Vanguard Mk.III Impervium-hardshell suit. This suit contains the psionic restrictors used in typical Vanguard tech, but is less hardened to physical assault, to facilitate greater mobility. The boots and gauntlets of the suit are reinforced with titanium alloy, to further augment Icteriman's considerable striking power.
- Helmet. Icteriman's helmet is composed of the titanium/diamond/kevlar hybrid material that was used to create the armor of GI Justice--but the lack of government sponsorship renders it impossible for Icteriman to create a full bodysuit. Icteriman's helmet is equipped with the psionic restrictors used in Vanguard tech, to prevent super-powered beings from discerning his identity. It is also reinforced with lead to prevent entry of x-ray particles, further concealing his identity. The monacles in the helmet have the option for standard vision, magnified vision, thermal imagery, and night-vision--making the helmet a very diverse addition.
- Utility belt. Icteriman's assortment of gadgets greatly rivals the selection contained in the belt of his fictional hero, Batman. In the belt is a variety of items ranging from shurikens(standard, ionic, and incendiary), tracing equipment, a flashlight, a first-aid kit, restraining devices, a handheld supercomputer of his own design, and a network interface that allows him to patch into the city's teleportation system. The utility belt is also rumored to contain a large amount of Semtex, in the event of a total disaster.

"She was once just an average girl." You've heard the formulaic story. Ordinary little girl given great power and responsibility, only to find herself incapable of handling the hardships that come. But 'Vi' probably experienced it all. From the highest ends of superhero life to the lowest of low.

The series of dramatic events, as with any good old romance novels, began with a boy. Before then, Viola had been a tenacious tomboy at school, full of optimism towards and enthusiasm towards her future. But as with any citizen of modern society, she was unknowing of just how systematic and mundane her life had been. Entered Akai Tanner, a charming young lad who quickly stole little Viola's heart, even if it was not in his intention to do so. They were both 10 at the time, but even at that young age, the 'perfect man' had already kept some dark secrets of his own. As it turned out, Akai was a shapeshifting superhero capable of transforming his appendages to those of animals and beasts, earning his nickname, "Chimera Lad." Furthermore, his powers were part of a sadistic experiment conducted by mad geniuses working for an organization called "Sin." Speculations stated, however, that Akai was a mutant, his powers granted ever since birth, and that the scientists and Sin were merely catalysts that triggered those powers.

Viola's mundane life was of no more, especially after she decided to follow Akai on his (seemingly) flashy superheroic life, despite multiple disagreements from the lad. Her ignorance, however, was soon rewarded with horrible tragedies and unprecedented danger, beginning with the deaths of Viola's friends and classmates, when her school was blown up in hopes of eliminating Chimera. Akai's identity had been made known by some criminals when Viola got too close to him. They survived, of course, all due to Akai's quick instincts. Viola hated him, however, for not being able to save the others with those so-called instincts. They separated for a while.

Ever since then, Viola began her dark life of loneliness, being known throughout the state of New York as the 'Monster's Vixen.' She transferred from school to school, with little avail. For a 10 year old, it was an unthinkable experience, waking up at night in cold sweat, having nightmares of her classmates haunting her... for revenge.

Eventually, Viola broke down, and attempted suicide by leaping off a skyscraper. Naturally, Chimera arrived in time to save the damsel in utmost distress. He had been guarding her, night by night, and was both pained and angered by her foolish act of ending her life. "A completely unthinking idiot," he called her. "Where was the unyielding tomboy I once knew!? Attempting suicide just because a mere portion of what I went through happened to you. You accepted the responsibility of being involved with me, and now you are going to forgo that responsibility by making your parents suffer as well? You can't cure your own suffering by making others suffer, Viola. Never give up."

The couple reconciled, but it was not till a few months later, after another occurrence, that Viola felt comfortable being around Akai. A civil war had somehow broke out, and the government passed down a discriminative registration program against all meta-humans - superheroes, in simple terms. Amongst them, Viola's father was put on trial for the unlawful murder of a supervillain; the crime being more severe with his position as the chief commander of the NYPD. The villain had hurt his daughter, badly, after kidnapping her to get back against the police chief. Though Chief Stewart's rescuing of Viola was successful, the villain met his death when Stewart defended himself from an attack. Upon Viola's request, Akai lent his aid and testimony. Despite being a 'Super' himself, he was involved in the case, and was by Chief Stewart's side when the rescue occurred. Both Mr. Stewart and Akai were then successfully released as free men from the grips of the new law, and Viola couldn't be more thankful for that. The flames between the two kids were, once more, gradually rekindled.

However, it wouldn't be long before they were met with more misfortunes and tragedies. After Chimera Lad had discontinue another terrorist act by the organization, "Sin," the seven leaders of the group commenced a man-hunt on the superhero himself. When Akai learned of this, he knew Viola would be put in utmost danger throughout this period. But Sin was swift, and Viola was indeed captured before Akai could get to her. The ugliest days of her life thus began. Sin proposed an exchange, of course; his aid to the organization for the girl's freedom. The group would not wish death for either of them - both children were useful assets, after all. Until Chimera was able to satisfy the leaders with his assistance for as long as they desire, Viola shall not leave. What happened to her until then was unspeakably inhumane. With each night that Chimera failed to secretly secure her from their clutches, or if he was caught escaping from the 'Agents of Sin' that would accompany him everywhere her 'sentence' given by their own judiciary of law was doubled upon discovery of his betrayal.

In the end, Akai was on the brink of giving up. Though his life had always been a painful one, no pain was greater than watching the kind of suffering Viola was going through. Just as he was begging for mercy from the animals, daddy came to help. Mr. Stewart was a powerful man, but so was Mr. Tanner, Akai's father, a renowned detective from Japan. It took a good two weeks for Tanner to deduce the location of his missing son, and another month for both fathers to infiltrate the impenetrable base of the Sin organization. Sin was undoubtedly powerful, and even when the two children were freed from danger, the leaders had all but made a complete escape.

When the light-shows of the press were over, another long term of quietude began again between the couple, as the two kids go through a lengthy recovery process for their tattered souls. Viola stopped talking completely for a while, keeping herself in her room. Akai simply disappeared from society, keeping himself away from people as well. It was thanks to her father that Viola started to even look at people again, and it was also due his efforts that Viola learned to defend herself through the arts of swordsmanship. She was no longer a damsel. Rather, she particularly wielded the katana quite skillfully, channeling her bitterness into the slicing of the blade. She never did see Akai again till two years later in Prague, where he was drowning himself in liquor and regret. Viola never hated him, of course. She chose this life, yet Akai fought with his life to ensure her safety. Hence, she decided to mend their relationship once more. Hearing this, Akai told Viola, "Love is 0 in the superhero world. No matter how much you try, you'd always end up with 0." Yet, Viola optimistically replied, much to his surprise, "Idiot. 0 is start. Everything starts from 0. Nothing would get anywhere without starting from 0." He smiled. Little Viola had indeed grew up.

2011 arrived, and Viola turned 15. The couple's lives were finally met with the longest period of peacetime since they first met. Aside from harmless ordinary crime, the couple was safe, their lives finally filled with happy, innocent childhood memories. Sin never resurfaced, probably moving on to another country to terrorize its residents. Yet, brewed trouble never seemed to go away. Around the peak of the year, Akai began to disappear again, more than he usually did. He had miss classes and stood Viola up on their dates before, but the rate of his absence became ridiculously high that year. More suspiciously, when questioned about it, he would often brush Viola off, saying that he was "simply busy with some incidents," with a tempered attitude.

With Akai's state becoming obviously concerning, Viola began to follow him one night. What she discovered soon after was a large portal-like machinery in a warehouse with a white streak of light streaming through its opening. Akai was nowhere in the spacious room at the time, leading a curious Viola to fumble with the controls in hopes of finding him somewhere through the white light. Her hopes were turned futile as the panel buttons began flashing and beeping. Instead of finding Akai, a powerful suction force from the portal instead pulled Viola's body towards the streak of light. She did scream for help, but by the time Akai heeded her call and rushed into the room, she had been pulled through a portal, and the light disappeared just as quickly.

Blames were pushed around, regarding how an irresponsible Devil of a boy had cause an innocent girl, and her family, endless trauma. Voices were raised, with Mr. Stewart's being the loudest. Search parties lasting for months were organized throughout the world. But none of those actions brought any result. Both Tanners, father and son, however, knew that Viola was no longer of their world. It did not mean that she was dead, just that the chances of locating a person amongst countless zillions of dimensions and universes were close to absolutely impossible. But Akai never gave up, performing his own search for his lost love with the aid of his father and his research notes.

Little did either knew that the dimensional portal's last input location was listed was "Upsilon Beta 9-6," a little place more commonly known as... "Praetoria."

eh I wrote this story but it wouldnt fit in the ID box. Thought maybe someone would enjoy reading it. My wife thought the end was funny.

Hero Profile: Grandville
Identity: Aja Chatterjee
Real Name: Aja Kavita Chatterjee
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 26

Aja Chatterjee was born in Founders’ Falls to immigrant parents from New Delhi.

Her father, Dr. Chatterjee was an enthusiastic chemist for Crey
Industries, who according to him, unknowingly ended up working on
technology for Lord Recluse. This led the family of four, Aja’s
father, sister Kavita, and mother, to hastily move to the Rogue Isles.

This was traumatic for 17 year old Aja. Though her father’s name was
eventually cleared through legal maneuvering by Crey Industries, the
three years away from home affected her.

For one, she stopped hiding her mutant power to store and emit energy
in various forms. Her father had feared who, especially at Crey, might
want to run tests on her if it were known. His fears turned out to be
warranted, though Aja escaped the one attempt unharmed (the lab that
Crey attempted to lure Aja into on the other hand was a pile of
charred rubble). Second, Aja fell in with an unsavory crowd. Drug use
and vandalism became common recreation for Aja and her new friends.

Despite her mother’s pleas, when she her family was able to return to
Founders’ Falls, Aja did not immediately return. In an attempt at
reconciliation, Aja’s father promised to quit his job at Crey if she
would return home – a large step for the always financially
responsible Dr. Chatterjee.

Aja has attempted to put her anger behind her and is now enrolled with
Freedom Corps. Her father is a college professor, content that he put
his family over his career, if sometimes unhappy at his income.

Some of Aja’s briefly trouble past still haunts her. For one, the name
“Grandville.”

She got this nickname from other Freedom Corps trainees when they
found out she has “Welcome to Grandville” tattooed above her crotch.
She does not like being called Grandville by the way.
