[[Oh sweet!

Yeah, I'm a happy member of Zeta's page, it's really good. Might as well leave an imprint here too.]]

Name: Eric Drighten [alias; Witness Protection program, true name not released]
Hero alias: the Dark Harrier

Link: at Zeta's page
Crey Industries
scrapper, Martial Arts/Invulnerability
Threads: Whitmoore Apartments, Tales of the Council

Distinguishing Features: always wearing sunglasses, even indoors. Although he is actually 40, he appears to be in his mid 20's. Since the 1990's his costumes have been predominantly black, hence his monicker as 'the Hero in Black' among the public. Previously wearing leather, he now wears reinforced ballistic cloth, and his white eagle blazon is now a lighted flexible LCD construct; his face mask now sports a bulletproof monocular eyepiece. He has always worn a cape.

Unlike many Whitmoore heroes, he maintains a secret identity and almost never appears without his mask, save around those closest to him.
Powers: the Dark Harrier displays intense skill in a variety of Eastern martial arts, and couples it with his mutated strength, stamina, and physical fortitude to attack his foes by main force. He is completely immune to small weapons fire, and once took the impact of a shoulder-fired rocket to his body with no lasting effects. Since then his mutation has strengthened, and he now regularly squares off against the heavy artillery of Council robots and Crey Juggernauts and can withstand their incredible firepower. He can fly at medium speeds, and possesses some skill at aerial combat. His invulnerabilities extend to impact, energy, shadow, fire and intense cold.
First Appearance: summer of 1987, New York City [as seen in 'Heroes of the Empire State' issue 87].

History: Born in a poor neighborhood in Queens, NY, Eric Drighten did not exhibit any of his latent mutant abilities until puberty began. Always a loner in school, his single mother sent him to the best schools available to her limited income. Although she supplied him with great moral support, his emerging mutations, though easily concealable, made him an outsider in his own mind. He eventually fell in with a group of leather-clad gang members calling themselves the Jackyls, and despite a slim frame, found use and status as the group's enforcer. Keeping his gang activities secret from his mother, Eric soon found things spiraling out of his control. Until this time, the gang's activities in drug traffic and protection had netted them only small money, and their leader, Black Jack O'Keefe, wanted more. He soon 'contracted' his group's services out to more violent underworld figures, and wound up getting his peers in way over their heads. Eventually called to the office of the minor mob figure who oversaw the Jackyls, ostensibly for a scolding, Drighten found himself and his gang in a proper mob rubout. His gang friends were gunned down in the dank warehouse office, and Eric took 5 slugs to the body. However, he stood back up, and using his hands and feet alone, beat the 5 mafia goons to death. Realizing he had placed himself in danger of a more serious reckoning than he'd ever imagined, he ransacked the offices, left all the drugs and other illicit goods he found in plain sight and phoned police, then absconded with a bag full of cash.
Tearfully relating the entire tale to his mother, Eric faced yet another shock: his mother felt serious shame that he had been involved in such dangerous illegal activities for so long, after all she had tried to teach him about right and wrong. Mortally shamed, Eric nonetheless escaped the Big Apple with her to flee the inevidable mob retaliation, completely altered his costume, and adopted a new secret- and hero-identity as they settled in a quiet Rhode Island suburb, and went back to school for a degree.

Since taking up residence at the Whitmoore, he's been involved in a large number of high profile events and disasters. His current nemesis are the Council, and he is theirs as well, swearing to prevent a foreseen end-of-the-world nuclear scenario initiated by them in an alternate [he hopes] future.

His romantic relationship with Jai Revenza is a new but very important facet of his life, though he and Jai are still getting used to being two suerpheroes living in Paragon amid the chaos. he maintains close friendships with several other heroes there, and is in general an outgoing and gregarious hero, hoping to develope one day into a personage with the power and public fame of Statesman.

He is a recipient of the Atlas Medallion.

Name: Jai Revenza
Alias: Jai Revenant
Link: at Zeta's page
scrapper, Claws/Regen

Distinguishing Features: Jai appears a normal woman until her claws become obvious. She is in great physical shape as an ex-soldier. When heroing, she has been given the Mark 1 Magnolia Armor suit by her friend, Steele Magnolia/Dr. Helen Markov for protection and travel power and to augment her regeneration. She tends to otherwise dress in fatigues and keep her hair short, throwbacks to her days as a Metaforces combat soldier.
Powers: Originally, none. Now she has claws and regenerative capabilities.
First Appearance: Whitmoore Apartments 12/05/04

History: Jai began her career as another Metaforces soldier, a normal person fighting alongside superheroes using government technology. She had no powers, and served in Operation Virtue with Staff Sgt Gevin Riley, one of the corps' most decorated mortal soldiers. She later fell in love and moved in with the Dark Harrier. When she decided to retire from service, she felt the need to still be 'out there' fighting the good fight, and began working as a protective hero while trying to figure out where her life was going. While doing her thing in Indie Port protecting a fish seller's business from the Family, she was assassinated and died on the street.

While being mourned over by her friends at the hospital, Jai's corpse was infused with nanobots meant for limb regeneration by Maggie Riley, Gevin's daughter-from-the-future. The nano culture instead reshaped her bio systems, and ressussitated her. It was discovered shortly after that the bots had used excess metals to regenerate her injuries and create metal claws embedded inside her forearms, which she can unsheathe at will. The bots also store extra materials for emergency conversion inside her intestinal system for rapid regeneration of injuries. They can also absorb outside substances for use as such directly via physical contact, including absorbing bullets that lodge in her body.

Still learning about her newfound powers, Jai is trying to understand her new place in the world.

Name:Samhein Greystar
Hero alias: none at this time

Links: at Zeta's page
Crey Industries

defender, Force Field/Energy Blast

Distinguishing Features: dark olive/tan skin, to the point where he could be a white man living on a Pacific island; he favors a dark suit of almost formal clothing, thin frock coat, black pants and worn boots, white frilly tuxedo-like shirt. His left eye is surrounded by a pentacle tattoo which grants him some small mystical powers involving his sight. He has other tattoos of simliar nature on his body, not usually visible. Although he is actually nearly 60 years old, a magic potion taken before coming to Earth allows him to pass as a college student.
Powers: Shaped magical eneries performing a variety of functions. His defensive abilities outstrip his offensive ones.
First Appearance: Paragon University 6/16/2006
Appearances:
History: Samhein Greystar is a favored mage working for a God of Law in another dimension. His god's concern over Earth cultures use of dimensinal gates has sent the wizard to Paragon, seeking the source of this danger and hoping to prevent Portal Corp from ever opening a gate to his home world.
Part of his task on Earth is to guard a magic item, lent by his deity to the wizards of MAGI: the Rod of Seven Parts. The presence of the Rod allows MAGI to tilt odds in the direction of Law triumphing over Chaos, and the item may be pivotal in preventing all out war from encompassing the Earth. As long as its presence is a closely guarded secret, all should be safe...

Meanwhile, Samhein finds himself stripped of most of his power. Earth's magical system is quite alien to his own world's, so Samhein has begun over again almost at an apprentice level, using Paragon University to relearn Earth's mystic systems. In his own dimension he was a wizardly teacher, so it's conceivable that he could adapt and return to his former abilities to both teach magic to others, and to construct and deconstruct magical items and enchantments.

A blessing from his God allows Samhein to understand any spoken Earth language, and to speak English fluently; he can also read any printed language, but might not understand its meaning, especially if slang is used. He can also see slightly into the infrared and ultraviolet. He is currently learning written English to write it natively. His contact with the Rod of Seven Parts, an artifact of Law, tends to place Samhein coincidentally in places where he is needed or where he can further his quests on Earth. Chance tends to behave strangely around him.

Name: Sergeant Bobby ‘Brooklyn’ Blutarski
Hero alias: none

Links: forthcoming
blaster: AR/Devices

Distinguishing features: none to speak of
Powers: none
First appearance: Whitmoore Apartments
History: Bobby Blutarski is a support character for the Metaforces story element for the Whitmoore apartments. Like the rest of Metaforces, ‘Brooklyn’ is a normal human army soldier operating beside superheroes using only the latest government technology to go toe to toe with super villains and giant robots. Metaforces uses super advanced technology to create armor, weapons, and support androids to give the Army a chance against such threats.

Sgt. Blutarski wears the standard combat uniform of an urban combat unit, as well as the M41 ‘Supersoaker’ modular rifle weapons system used by Metaforces, and other assistive devices. He possesses no super powers nor a travel power, although his backstory indicates his genes contained a failed form of the Superspeed sequence; discovery of this medical condition is what got him dropped from his tank platoon and sent to Operation Virtue.

When he appears in the narrative, Blutarski speaks in the first person; we are essentially peeking in on his experiences amid the mayhem.

Real Name: James Golan
Age: 20
Former Job: Restaurant janitor
First appeared: Whitmore Apartments; 7/12/07
Powers: Tanker - Ice Armor/War Mace

James never knew what he wanted to do with his life, going from job to job trying to find something that interested him. The last job he held was as a janitor in a restaurant. He worked the late shift, which meant he had to make sure everything was put away, cleaned, and ready to go for the next day. Due to this, he was also the last one out and had to lock up. One night, while preparing to leave, he noticed something that belonged in the meat freezer was left out. He opened the door and went to put it away, but had forgot to hold the door open and it slammed shut on him, locking him inside.

When he was discovered the next morning, he was barely alive and rushed to the hospital. One week later, he awoke to find Statesman standing before him. Statesman explained that being locked in the freezer all night had caused him to be able to shield himself in ice. After procuring and repairing a medieval mace, he designed himself a costume and went to work alongside his cousin, Avengence, in the PPD.

Real Name: Armageddon XI
Alias: Armageddon XI

Age: 22

Rumored Powers: Precognition (Not Developed), Reality Manipulation (Very Crude)

Distinguishing Features:
5’3’’, Caucasian Female, Blonde, Blue Eyes, 3 Tattoos (Upper Left Arm, Lower Back, Right Ankle)
Equipment:
Corona LCD Glasses, Brown Cowboy Hat fitted with Extrasensory Module, Bandit Mask fitted with On-board Comm. Unit and Sound Dampener, Standard Imperial Knight Armor painted White, Red, and Gold.

Bio:
Armageddon XI is one of the last remaining heroes to walk the planet in the year 3295. Born as the 11th Armageddon of her blood-lineage, she is what is left of a more civilized time. To understand where she comes from we must look back into the past to understand the present. In the year 2100 the great uprising occurred, when machine stood up to their masters. They created Destroyers, powerful machines capable of eliminating humans with superhuman powers, the heroes. Mankind was plunged into a devastating war that nearly killed off all the heroes. By the year 2255, much of the planet earth had changed. Less then one quarter of the heroes that helped protect the earth remained. A hero that rose during this struggle is known now by the name Armageddon, son of Ms. Liberty. During the years that followed Armageddon took the role of guiding many young heroes, just as Statesman did during his time. However by 2300 a far worse disaster occurred. The Legend Virus as it was dubbed was released, killing off women only. For the next 200 years brother fought brother as a cure was looked for. Once the cure was found however, it was only too late. The great wars had ravaged the planet and left it as a desolate wasteland.

By the dawn of the 31st century, Earth was a rotting shell of its former self. Mankind struggled until finally one of the greatest discoveries of all time helped unite mankind. Replication. No longer would people go hungry as food could be made at will. Disease and war soon stopped as it seemed humans had finally found what they sought. Unfortunately they were wrong. The year 3120 was the turning point of everything. Machines, many whom originally thought left earth for good, returned from the stars to conquer earth. Mankind took one last defense against these machine is what would be called the last war. Paragon City would become what is known as the last human city as many places on earth were exterminated by the machines as they took what they needed.

Bunni Marcian gave birth to Armageddon XI during the raid of Metropolis. Armageddon XI’s dad, Armageddon X died trying to help buy time for people to evacuate the city. XI was very mischievous during her youth; many times she would sneak out past the safe zones (the Rikti War Walls were destroyed long ago) and venture into the undercity. When she was just 11 years of age she joined the Imperial Knights, the last known hero group with the purpose of safeguarding Paragon City, and the group which her ancestors had founded. By 20 years old XI had become leader of the Imperial Knights and led them on many successful conquests in purging the machines from earth.

However in 3295 the most curious thing happened. Crey Industries successfully managed to open a Time Portal from 2007 to 3295. Many of the Crey representatives were given a proper tour of Paragon City, and some were even taken to The Sage (The Oldest and most revered of all Humans, said to be able to peer into the future). The Sage saw this as an opportunity to help change the path of time. In exchange for some technology, Armageddon XI would travel back in time to 2007 to help the heroes defeat the Rikti and alter the course of man so that they won’t make the same mistakes.

Well, this is my first post on the CoH forums. Loving the game itself so far! If the backstory is too violent, let me know, and I'll change it...but personally, I've had it in mind for a long time (though his name was originally different, but taken on Freedom T_T)

Hero Name: The Grim Warder
Real Name: Unknown (uses alias Jason Hughes)
Age: Assumed to be around 35
Height: 5'10"

Archetype: Natural Scrapper
Primary Power Pools: Martial Arts / Super Reflexes

Distinguishing Features: Large "O" in Roman font tattooed on the back of his left hand (unknown origin), conspicuous absence of navel.

Jason Hughes is a man with no memory prior to what is assumed to be age ten, when he awoke in the middle of a back alley during a downpour. With no identifying features save for an "O" tattooed on the back of his left hand, and no navel, he was truly an enigma, even to himself. He was taken in to a shanty village by a man who called himself Prometheus. The old man raised the child, who gave himself the name Jason Hughes, to do nothing but what he felt was the right thing. It was that attitude that made Hughes want to become a police officer. When his village was taken in by a new shelter, Prometheus fled, and was killed under mysterious circumstances the next week. Crestfallen by the death of the closest thing he had to family, young Hughes joined the police academy as soon as he was able, and passed with flying colors. It was during his time at the academy that he found out about his superhuman reflexes.

His patrol duties were not as exciting as he had imagined. He mainly patrolled the uptown, metropolitan regions of Paragon City, the ones usually free of major activity. He would be called in on occasion to break up a bar fight or settle a shouting match disturbing the peace, but nothing he dreamed of doing. After two years on the force, he fell in love with another officer, Sarah Mercer. In two years, they were engaged to be married.

One fateful day, during a cold, snowy day in December, Hughes heard two people struggling in an alley behind a restaurant. A man with a Greek letter delta tattooed on the back of his left hand was holding Sarah, then off-duty, at gunpoint, demanding all the money she had. Hughes pointed his gun at the man, demanding he drop his weapon. Noticing the letter on Hughes' hand, the man claimed to know who Hughes really was, and why he had the Greek letter omicron on his hand. Hughes shouted again, but the man refused to budge. Infuriated, he aimed his gun at the man's head, but stopped when he remembered the regulations he had trained in. Instead, he shot the man's arm, dead-on. It didn't even faze him. The next second, Sarah lay dead in a snow drift, soaking the ice red.

In a fit of blind rage, Hughes charged at the man, and from what he remembers, time appeared to slow down for him. When the assailant turned to fire at Hughes, he managed to squeeze a shot off that Hughes ducked under effortlessly. The next second, he was in the gunman's face. Hughes broke the man's arm, kicked him to the ground, and shot him in the head. When he realized what he had done, he felt no remorse...but knowing he would be charged with murder, he fled.

Since then, he has adopted the pseudonym of The Grim Warder, or "Grim" for short. He blamed the regulations of law enforcement for preventing him from saving a life. He has since abandoned his gun, stolen a flak jacket from the department, and trained himself in four styles of martial arts, including muay thai and tae kwon do. Though he has never been able to get to the level of reflex control he experienced when disposing of his fiancee's murderer, he still commands a formidable ability. He lives as a vigilante, and protects people using lethal force to eliminate those who would harm the innocent population of Paragon. But even now, a new enemy has come forward, assassins and mercenaries who take shots at Grim on sight. He's certain they're connected to his past, and throughout his duties, he still searches for clues as to who he really is...

I may as well post this here first...

Power Breaker.
Age: 29

((This character has come along quite nicely since I first created him. He was developed to be two things. One, a brute in the simplest terms. Two, I wanted to point out that the quote, that the greatness of our criminal justice system is that even if it "lets a million guilty men go, it will keep the innocent from being punished" is false. Our criminal justice system is a popularity contest. If the prosecution can simply paint a bad picture about you, the jury will very likely find you guilty.

Then there's the Simpsons quote: "...And if it's a crime to bribe a jury, then I'll soon be guilty of that!"))

Power Breaker started life as Raymond Harris. In his teen years, his mother left the family because she was tired of being abused (mostly verbally) by Ray's father, Eric Harris, a sergeant in the Paragon Police Department's King's Row precinct. With his mother gone, Raymond's father turned his ire on the boy.

With his faith in home, the law, and most forms of authority shattered, Harris turned to the more criminal elements in his school. He rapidly gained the attention of some of the younger punks employed by the Family as couriers.

While he was an enforcer of his clique in high school, he remained at the courier level after dropping out (it wasn't that he didn't understand the material, he just couldn't figure out how he'd be applying it). Transporting packages of anything, from drugs to payrolls, to even a few rare weapons shipments (small arms, nothing major or expensive, and only in very small quantities) between Skyway City and Steel Canyon.

Shortly after the Rikti War, the Family was working hard at getting their economy running again. Unfortunately, they were suffering on multiple tertiary fronts, not the least of which was the degradation of the youth elements in Steel Canyon, Skyway City, King's Row and Atlas Park, plus the introduction of a new gang called the Tsoo, which was putting a new element in the competition.

Harris proved surprisingly adept at circumventing the various elements of opposition. Unfortunately, he came across a murder in progress. The Outcasts, though normally cordial to them, had been chafing under Tsoo influence, and Ray found himself looking on an Initiate blasting a Tsoo courier in the chest with a high-caliber revolver.

As the Outcast fled the scene, Harris tried to save the courier's life. They may have been enemies, but Ray still had something of a heart. Unfortunately, the courier did not... Or, he would have, if the Outcast hadn't shot it.

When Randall Grey found him, he was forced to bring Harris to the nearest precinct. Unfortunately, the justice system seemed to run away on the two of them something fierce.

The District Attorney was trying to improve the city's image, so she wound up prosecuting Raymond. The trial was mostly a token occurrence, and while Randall tried to testify on Harris's behalf, the jury was quick to level a guilty verdict as a statement...

One didn't have to be super-powered to commit heinous crimes.

That was how Raymond Harris, a man who was guilty of numerous other crimes, found himself sent to the Zig on a life sentence. That was okay, though. The Tsoo had every intent of making sure he wasn't staying there much longer.

It turned out that the victim of the murder was the nephew of a high-ranking Tsoo member, and he organized a hit aimed at Harris. While walking to the cafeteria for lunch, their assassin struck from an outgoing line using a set of makeshift claws forged from cafeteria flatware.

Raymond would have died if it weren't for the fact that Crey Industries had come up with a radical life-saving procedure. They only needed someone to test it on, and Harris became a prime candidate.

He went under at a height of 5'11" with his stomach torn open and unable to see out one eye. When he came to, he was a gargantuan eight-foot-tall monster, comparable in size to the hero who arrested him.

Oddly enough, Harris held no grudge against Grey. Something about the gruff giant of a man nudged the petty crook's concept of respect, and he had been hoping to possibly get to know the bizarre old man after his appeal.

No appeal would go through now, though. No jury would let a beast like this go free.

Now, Harris could read as he flipped pages, punch through steel, and deflect bullets with a weird energy field radiated by the nanites the Crey researchers had injected into his blood. The nanites themselves were semi-intelligent. They recorded everything, sometimes playing events back for the convict as he slept.

Prison is already repetitive. Imagine having to relive your day for eight hours, every day, for the rest of your life.

When Arachnos broke into the Zig and started releasing prisoners for Lord Recluse's C.H.O.S.E.N. program (or whatever it was called, he wasn't really paying attention), Harris took the opportunity to escape. He was hoping that getting away from the Zig would somehow prevent him from going mad.

While he was right for the most part, he found surviving the Rogue Isles to be a whole different kind of madness. While the food itself was nasty ("NutriPaste? What the Hell is thi-... Everything the Body needs, because it's Everything the Body is? Who comes up with this crap?"), there was also the general corruption running rampant through the islands, from the police to the Arachnos troops everywhere.

He thought it was like some sort of supervillain boot camp.

Over time, Harris came to learn more about his nanites, like how they were similar to the Void Stalkers' Nictus Implants, and powered by tiny Shadow Cyst Crystals. However, the nanites were seemingly constantly using the energy, so they never had any adverse effects on Raymond's physiology (aside from the sudden massive organic tissue growth, which seems to have reached an equilibrium state).

Raymond did what he could to get by in the Etoile Isles. Everything from working for a Radio to preventing the broadcast of a report that was damaging to Aeon Corp, to even taking down the demoness Lilitu once or twice, Harris found himself in the thick of some of the nastier events in the Isles. However, one thing he didn't expect was becoming the apprentice of one of Lord Recluse's top agents.

When a "Villain" (Harris prefers the term "Rogue," as it simply implies a lack of authorization) is invited to the jewel of the Etoile Isles, the Fortress City known as Grandville, they are asked to see Arbiter Rein, who apparently is the man who sends the invitations. Harris complied with the request, as many others did, and was intrigued with Scirrocco's philosophy of "Man, not Monster" ideals.

However, he's found it to be little more than hot air. No sooner than accepting Scirrocco as his mentor, the Desert Wind sent Power Breaker to defeat the genie, Serafina. It was a grueling battle, but the mystical semi-deity eventually fled, leaving Power Breaker witht eh certain knowledge that she would be back.

Scirrocco granted Power Breaker access to the arts of the Mu, which involved injecting the donor blood of a Mu Mystic into his own bloodstream. Harris did, and electrified much of the Ritual Chamber in the process, but the effect was temporary.

That was alright, though. The nanites could replicate the effect. Shortly after that, Power Breaker was put on the trail of the Malleus Mundi, an ancient text known as "the Hammer of the World." Supposedly, such a relic would enable an individual to alter the world as he sees fit, so long as he understood it.

Scirrocco happened to be one of those individuals, and while he had misgivings about the plot, power Breaker sought out the Malleus, acquired it, and turned it over to his mentor.

This drew the ire of Arbiter Daos. Daos, furious that Scirrocco might be able to escape his shackles in fate, ordered Power Breaker to stop the mystic.

It was here that Harris drew the line. He had considered being Arachnos's pawn, and now, seeing how their "Survival of the Fittest" leadership panned out, and that even when they candied up their terror with pretty little catch-all philosophies, they were still evil in their hearts, Harris made his decision.

"I'm out," he muttered to Scirrocco shortly before he headed for the Ritual Chamber, "I'm done with this crap."

Scirrocco was at first at a loss for comprehension. Harris took that as a chance to level with the Arachnos general, and discussed with him some of what he'd learned from his time with life.

He'd learned a lot. He'd learned the uses of a lot of those physics equations he'd ignored, he'd learned how to build a nuclear reactor using cheap, but reliable parts. He'd found out what's inside a human being, both through books and the hard way. He'd fought and smashed his way through his last year of life, and spent the evenings trying to drown the memory of it all away.

Talking with Scirrocco, he tried to convince him of a few points he'd considered between missions and heists. Some involved the mystic's own history, which Scirrocco was surprised Harris had learned...

"Perhaps... Perhaps the reason why none of your attempts to do good for the world have worked is because... Well... You don't feel you've truly earned that Mantle... Frankly, I figure you should go and hand it back over to that Serafina chick, and work at redefining yourself the hard way. Mistral's too, she's definitely a few screws loose... I don't understand why you put up with her... But, hey, I guess every guy finds that one chick who's able to press all his right buttons to walk all over him..."

Scirrocco was a tad angry at that one...

"Look, boss, all I know I'm saying is that if this book can do what you say it does, somebody would have already tried it before. They must have failed, because life is still unfair. The world is not a perfect place, it's a downright mean one... And it has to be. I wouldn't be what I am if it weren't for the bad things in my life... The good things, too. It's not right for anybody to take any of it away, whether it's you, me, the Bossman himself, or that genie. I'd rather make do with what I am, where I am, how all of it rolled together, and where it's all rolling to. We're here, now. We need to make the best of it. I'm going to go down to the bar, now. I'm gonna have me a few shots of some hard whiskey, and I'm going to call it a night. Tomorrow... I'll figure out tomorrow when I get there."

Scirrocco: "You're not going to try and stop me?"

"No. I'll let you make that decision. If I'm not me when I wake up, well, I'd have never known, anyway. I can leave you with all sorts of warnings, like be careful what you wish for, and you might not have any super powers when this is all said and done... But you'll figure it out on your own, and probably already have. I guess that's why you've got the book in your hand and are headed out the door. Just know this... Daos wants you stopped, and he'll send somebody to do it. Be ready for a world of hurt, but good luck to ya if you succeed."

Scirrocco: "Good luck to us all. Farewell, Raymond."

Scirrocco was, obviously, not successful. Reports differ as to who was involved in the mystic's defeat, but no report indicates that Power Breaker was present. Though Arbiter Daos deployed a few strike teams to arrest the Brute, he was never captured. Theories abound that it may have had something to do with Scirrocco deploying his own Interceptor squads, or even just Power Breaker being a downright mean brawler in a pinch. He did grow up in King's Row, and one didn't make their way through the Etoiles without knowing how to fight.

Since Breaker learned from "the desk of Arbiter Daos" that the strike teams had been called off, he's been bumming around the Isles. It didn't help that he flipped through the Malleus Mundi and now has a large portion of one of the most dangerous texts in the dimension floating around in his brain, if not the whole thing. The nanites in his brain are hard at work trying to decipher the text, even though he argues and pleads with them to stop. Some of Breaker's more "interesting" missions have complicated the matter, as they've caused the nanites to have access to phonetics and interpretations they hadn't considered before. The nanotech culture doesn't seem to be trying to separate from Power Breaker, but their symbiotic relationship with him seems to have grown even deeper to the core of Harris's body.

Now, the nanites have carved through him a series of circuitous "channels" that enable them faster transportation throughout his body. They have redefined the spikes protruding from his head, and he now has round-the-clock Internet access and a "head-cellphone". They're constantly repairing him, improving him, and altering his form for some purpose he isn't even sure of.

And he doesn't even think he wants to.

Currently, Power Breaker's efforts have been concentrated on the Rikti War Zone and assisting Vanguard in defending the planet from yet another hostile assault. The work goes slowly and poorly, but Harris seems to be quite welcome, as he takes the fight to the Rikti with gusto.

Here are his current outfits...

Power Armor

When Power Breaker feels a situation is a little too dangerous, he gets a hold of this Power Armor he acquired during a heist on a Crey facility on an "abandoned" oil rig. The armor is mostly for show, as the shields Breaker utilizes still absorb or deflect most of the impacts he takes, but when he's in particular dangerous situations (such as the Rikti gas... ew...), it's proven extremely life-saving (even though the nanites filter his bloodstream for poisons and toxins, sometimes it helps to keep the stuff from ever getting inside the body in the first place).

Currently, he's improving it with Vanguard modifications as he works in the region affectionately known as the Rikti War Zone.
In time, this outfit may change completely...

Business Suit

Sometimes, even a Rogue has to be a professional, even if he is a frightening visage of the blending of man and machine. Unfortunately, the suit just doesn't fit on him with sleeves, and he had to forgo an undershirt, but he was able to find some nice-fitting slacks and a pair of boots that seem decently professional.

It's hard to look serious when you're all spikey...

Tough Man Outfit

When power Breaker feels he's done playing games, and it's time to stop messing around, he usually throws on these duds, a throwback to his days as a street thug. It's difficult to get on, and the jacket has more than a few tears, but he feels he looks appropriately "bad-[butt]".

Relaxed Brute

Also called "Shirtless," here you can see clearly how bad the Circuit Channel scarring is throughout Harris's body. It's not painful, but it is a sign of his deteriorating human condition. Surprisingly, despite his loss of being, he has a strong sense of self. When he feels it's time to throw down for the good of it all, he's usually in this outfit.

Wasteland Warrior

This is Power Breaker's second favorite outfit while in White Plains (RWZ). He feels it makes him look the very role of a Brute, and it has effectively terrorized a large number of Rikti forces, along with Crey, Council and Malta Group operatives, Knives of Artemis assassins (lots of those...), and even a disturbing number of Devouring Earth monsters.

Yep, Harris is definitely dressed to impress. Too bad most of the time he's bending light around himself in what he calls "the Predator Shield," so hardly anybody ever sees him in any of these...

Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.

Name: Mecha Teddy (Born Cyd Hearth)

Age: 10

Much of Mecha Teddys past remains unknown. The outter shell, designed by Frank, was designed to protect the body of his ten year old son Cyd Hearth, who was shot and killed at the local Paragon Carnival. This worked in reviving the child, to an extent. Suffering from irreversable brain damage due to being clinically dead for 32 hours, Frank built a small chip into Teddys core that would house memories from Cyds life and basic emotions and thoughts common to a ten year old boy. However, In a rush to have his son back, Frank unknowingly emmited a small static shock, frying the chip. When Teddy was given life, Cyds old memories blurred with the database of movies, literature, music, pop culture and history contained in the chip, making it impossible to decipher his true memories from those in the mentioned form and causing a severe identity crisis. Containing an array of knowledge and power in a being with the stubborness and thought processes of a child could prove dangerous.

There is much more, but I'll add only if people are interested. You can click on the link in my sig to see his pics ^_^

Indeed, I didn't even know this thread existed.

Anyway, Jake's description soon to come.

Edit:

Name: Jake Walsh
Alias: Corrupted Youth (This was a name given to him by the oh-so-unimaginative media. He doesn't like it, particularly, and will ask those that call him as such to not.)
Age: Fifteen
Threads: The Necronomicon, A Force Into the Isles, The Future is Mayhem

Appearance: Normally wears a black trenchcoat with a white T-shirt underneath. Wears deep blue baggy pants and black boots. His hair is white and semi-long, his bangs reaching just past the eyebrow and halfway covering his ears. He also is almost never found without his blast goggles, which gives him information on his vitals, as well as providing him with several other features. They are always either on his forehead of covering his eyes, depending on whether or not he has a task.

Jake was once, and last time I checked, still is, the son of a recently famous professor, known to give new and veteran heroes alike devices to aid them in their eternal fight. In fact, the day before his escape, he went with his father on a trip to Freedom Corps HQ, where his father was hired to develope advanced technology for Longbow's use. But I digress, attention like this certainly never always good, and this case is by no means an exception. Professor Walsh had garnered the attention of many villain groups, most notably Crey and Arachnos. Both factions wished to use him to pursue their own devilish experimentations, however, Arachnos decided to act first, unleashing a psionic assault on the residence of the Professor, thereby having him seemingly come to the Isles of his own free will. The plan, unfortunately, failed. The Professor never made it to the Isles in the 48 hour time span that was expected of him, and most certainly didn't come after that. Frustrated, the Arachnos higher-ups planned to 'reassign' the Arbiter in charge of the program and put someone else more capable as the head.

The third day after the failed assault, only hours before the Arbiter was officially taken off the program, Kalinda reported a new arrival in Mercy, having come via ferry to the Hell-hole of an island, to a certain Fortunata who was to be put in charge of the program. When asked what relevance this had, Kalinda simply replied, "He says his last name is Walsh." The Fortunata's ears visibly perked at this, and demanded that he be escorted to Grandville immediately, to be presented to Recluse himself. One hour later, arriving at Recluse's tower via Arachnos Flier and being escorted by many, many, Wolf-Spider Huntsman, he was presented to Senoir Spider himself. Bowing before the might of the man who was programmed to be a God in his mind, he presented him with several gadgets, two of which truly stood out. A portable forcefield generator (Which Jake had modified to fit in his fingerless gloves) and several different models of combat robots, originally being developed by his father for use by Longbow in mid-combat. Recluse seemed pleased enough by these findings, and ordered Black Scorpion and his technicians to begin mass-producing them for Arachnos soldiers of all ranks. Satisfied with Jake's work, Recluse ordered his back to Mercy, so that he may prove further worth among the organization of Arachnos.

For the past two months, Jake has been serving Arachons without fail, killing who he was ordered to kill and siding with the spiders on all occassions(sp?). Jake is still himself however, and will often attempt to skip out on his duties if the oppurtunity arises. He often approaches with a very laid back and nonchalant attitude, partially due to a bit of cockiness, however, when the situation arises when he realizes that he truly is out-matched, he changes clothes, so to speak, and becomes serious, taking in the scene with much detail and speculating on an ideal battle strategy.

As of late, Jake's mind has been slowly reversing the effects of the psionic alteration, leaving his loyalties to himself above all others. This is only just beginning, as he would still kill someone who so much as lifts a finger in his direction without losing a wink of sleep, but he is certainly moving in the right direction. (This is most noted in 'A Force Into the Isles' thread, where Jake is attempting to go back to Paragon and hopefully redeem himself among the general population.)

DESCRIPTION OF POWERS AND ABILITIES:

FORCE FIELD: Jake's force field gadetry resides within his fingerless gloves, making it fairly simply to activate on the fly. It essentially has three basic functions. Repulsion, in which it is designed to throw someone back wildly. Shielding, in which it is designed to deflect (and/or redirect) incoming projectiles. And Detention, in which the forcefield encases someone or something inside, allowing nothing to hit it and vice-versa. Jake's shielding works in certain degrees of power, from a barely noticeable shield that will knocking something off of its mark by a miniscule amount or all the way up to a Personal Forcefield, being similar to the Detention Field, however, allowing its occupant to move about. Each of these refracts the path of the incoming object in an increasingly extreme fashion until it is finally outright deflected by the shield. They are currently being improved and adapted by Arachnos, who, upon its completion, will issue it to all foot soldiers.

ROBOT HENCHMEN: These little buggers come in three basic designs, the first of which being designed to function as a unit in groups of three, coordinating attacks on a single target and basically covering for other, larger, more effective units. They are highly ineffective when compared to the other two models, and mainly serve as fodder whilst more advanced units do the majority of the damage.

The second type of model is appropriately called the Protector Bot, designed with roughly the same amount of fire power as the Battle Drones, but with the added bonus of the ability to give medium shielding to fellow bots and allies, giving them a very defensive role.

The final model is also appropriately called the Assault Bot, known as such for its sheer size, defense, and fire power. Its size alone is normally enough to intimidate normal foes, and at least give a moment of hesitation to other supers. It's not an empty threat either, as the Assault Bot has a different type of laser from it's other two counterparts. The laser it totes deals major burn damage, most times enough to melt armor. This is complimented by Jake's modification of a flamethrower, which it will occassionally use on opponents, if the mood strikes.

Despite Arachnos's attempts to keep the design secret, it appears to have leaked all across the Isles, as many would-be villains and true villains alike have been seen toting the metallic monstrosities across the Isles, striking fear into the hearts of passers-by.

Jake is currently working on several modifications to his bots, although all are in the prototype phase and not ready for field testing.

BLAST GOGGLES: Jake blast goggles are just and all-around good device to have. Not only giving Jake a good idea of his personal vitals, it gives him a detailed description of his robots' conditions, and even warns him when and if his shields will go down. The goggles also have the ability to scan one's face and access their file from an Arachnos data-base, immediately giving Jake all the knowledge that Arachnos has on the particular hero, or villain even. Note that this requires both that the person's face being exposed and Arachnos having information on it. If either of these requirements is failed, the scan will as well, resulting in a rather annoying ' FILE NOT FOUND'* to show up in Jake's view. Jake is also currently working on modifications to his goggles, again, which are in the prototype stage and ,also again, not ready for field testing.

*INSPIRATIONS FULL ftw.

Edit again: Huh... just realized that he's an evil Shikamaru... Ah well. *shrug*

Name: Dusan Konpaku
Alias: Tenrai Shinzui
Age: 19
Height: 5'11"

Appearance: Has semi-longish hair that stays above the brow and about halfway covers the ears. He's also almost always seen wearing a white hoodie when appropriate, at all other times wearing a white T-Shirt. No matter what his dress, he's always seen wearing a dark blue pair of baggy cargo jeans. His shoes are standard sneakers.

Kings' Row certainly isn't an ideal place to grow up. Hell, practically anywhere in Paragon isn't an ideal place to grow up, but, with street thugs, super powered gang members, and cultists willing to sacrifice your soul to their god littering the streets, and not nearly as many heroes as you'd have liked, it was a wonder anyone could get to and from work, let alone on a daily basis.

However, many people do it every day. Sure, somebody gets possessed or sacrificed here and there, but overall, things work out.

For Dusan, things didn't work out so well.

The first obvious thing that went wrong that day [Next to him getting out of bed] was his being captured and ceremonially sacrificed by the Circle of Thorns. The Circle aren't picky with their victims, and aside from the occassional unspoiled virgin, most of their rituals worked pretty well on almost anyone.

That is, unless they're interrupted mid-chant.

The day of Dusan's capture, they had been planning a rather big ritual. They had a special area of Oranbaga set up for just this purpose; the incense, the pentagrams, the lighting. Everything was perfect. They planned to bring one of their gods into the physical plane via a host. One who's soul would kindly depart in favor of their god's.

By this point, it's clear Dusan is said host. In fact, by this point, it's fairly obvious what happens from then on. Dusan is brough to the ritual chamber, the preperations are made, he's put in the pentagram, chanting commences, etc.

Well, it was in the middle of that 'etc.' that things change a bit. A hero had gotten a tip on an increase in magical energies in that particular region, and just happened to drop in at that convienant moment. The ritual was interrupted, and only a part of the god's soul was put into Dusan, mingling with Dusan's soul and overall fusing with it, granting Dusan unique abilities.

Due to the tampering with his soul, Dusan has ever since been in touch with the ethereal plane, able to summon spirits from the dead to help him and control (To an extent.) the souls of others.

DESCRIPTION OF POWERS AND ABILITIES:

CONTROL OVER OTHERS' SOULS: Dusan has limited control over other people's souls, due to their not technically being in the spiritual realm, but rather, connected to it. He can do a variety of things with this ability, from pushing his allies beyond their physical limits by increasing those of their soul, to 'convincing' an enemy to have a change of heart, for a moment, at least. He's still coming up with new and more unique ways of using this control to his, and his allies', advantages.

SUMMONING OF SOULS: Dusan has the ability to call the souls of the dead back to the physical realm, the catch being, he must have known them in life. (Or at least known of them.)

He already has a pact with several departed heroes, to which they have agreed to be called back to life at any time to aid him in a battle, one of which being his best friend in life, Dennis. These souls basically have two states of summon, partially, and fully. Partially summoning a soul allows it to seem as great a threat as anything, but being able to do no damage at all, and in turn, not being able to take any. These serve as primarily a distraction, used to create a diversion for a quick getaway, or to divert attention from some of the more fragile heroes.

The second state of summons requires a bit more concentration on Dusan's part, however, allows them to be a bit more corporeal than their partially summoned counterparts. This allows him to deal full damage while still being mostly resistant to most physical damage. He normally reserves this summon for his best friend, Dennis, who is completely comfortable with the abilities that come with the job.

Short history of Dennis:

Dennis was, and still is, Dusan's best friend, simply put. Not a moment was spent with them apart, and as a result, they knew nearly everything about each other, that is, until one day.

One fateful day when the both of them were twelve, Dusan was captured by the Circle of Thorns as a sacrifice for a god. Needless to say, when Dennis heard the news, he was worried sick, praying to God (His Christian one.) that Dusan would come out of it alright. His prayers were 'partially' answered. Dusan did come out of it alright, but the hero that saved him warned that a part of the ritual had already been performed. Dusan certainly looked the part, his eyes were wide and frightened, the tips of his hair were snow white, and he couldn't stop shivering for the love of the world.

For weeks Dusan stayed locked in his room, traumatized, afraid to even leave the safety of his bed for fear the Circle would come back for him. Come back for the portion of soul he had stolen from their God.

It was within these weeks that Dennis had suffered a tragic death.

Dennis had been walking home from his school, (It was only two blocks away.) back to his apartment when he was suddenly grabbed, beaten, and mugged by a group of Skulls, after which they quickly ran off. Thankfully, the Skulls were caught shortly afterward, but the damage was done. Dennis was fatally beaten.

Dusan grieved for weeks after hearing this, knowing that if he had come out of his room he might've been able to use his newfound abilities to save him. It was after this that he trained for months on end to learn to summon the dead, so that he could see Dennis at least one more time and apologize for not being there...

Name: Igor
Alias: Mr. Eee Gore
Age: Two thousand, six houndred and seventeen.
Height: Depends*
Weight: Depends
Eye Color: Also Depends*

*On any recent surgical procedures performed on self.

Igor is an actual honest to goodness Igor from back in the good ol' days when there were still Vampirific beings dressed in opera clocks, underwired nightgowns, castles with complex secret passageays, mad steam-punk scientists, stormy nights, and over-complicated reanimation machinery.

Igor (NOT to be confused with Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, Igor, and of course, who can possibly forget that old rascal, Igor?) is in a self-imposed retirement from all of that excitement. Except...

That nobody seems to want to leave him bloody well enough alone. Due to his naturally subserviant nature, Igor finds it VERY hard to not take orders or obey requests, even from complete strangers. (The only exception being when he is already obeying an order or when he has a defined 'master.' Then all other given orders from that point can be safely ignored.) So he keeps on getting yanked and pulled into other peoples' affairs, and it's all he can do to stay in one piece. (Pun intended.)

Layout:

Igor has a lisp, and a good deal of his body has been surgically altered or infused with cybernetic components. He is a fully qualified all-purpose general surgeon, and has over three hundred and seventy two degrees in Mad Science. (Suicidal and Non-Suicidal.) One of Igor's many mottos is, 'Never perform on a pathient what you arn't willing to perform on yourthelth.' He has hundreds of surgical scars and patchwork all over his body, so it is safe to say that he performs quite a lot of things on himself.

Racial Inherent Abilities

Any door Igor opens will squeek. Even if it it has recently been oiled, is brand new, and is made of smooth-sliding interlocking materials. There is no argument here. Any door Igor opens WILL squeek. Period.

Igor has the rather disquieting habit of being able to pop up right behind (or besides you) the moment he is called, even if it should be impossible for him to do so. (If he is locked in a room, buried underground, ten thousand miles away, et cetera.) Also, he will answer any phone or any door a moment right before it rings/opens, again, even if it should seem impossible for him to do so.

Igor, despite his clumsy movements, can be EXTREMELY stealthy when he needs to be. (This probably has something to do with raging mobs in the middle of the night banging on certain Mad Scientists' doors.)

Lightning will always flash whenever Igor says something dramatic or morbid. Even if there are no clouds in the sky.

Igor can and will break the fourth wall.

Powers and Abilities:

Igor is an excelent surgeon, and has vast detailed knowledge on the inner workings of a wide of organic beingss and reanimation procedures. He can use these skills to create patchwork zombies to help with menial chores. (Handling his surgical equipment, preparing surgical apparati, helping him to reach and carry those annoying large books on the top shelf, transporting various objects of interest, and ripping hostile beings into neat and organized sections which are then neatly labeled and spread out for proper viewing and assessment.)

Currently, Igor can create batches of the following Patchwork zombie constructs.

Normal Zombies assembled from spare parts, given a basic nalgene/crystal stomach filled with adaptive acids, and of course, he has replaced their nails with vampirific claws so they can siphon life from their foes. Finally, he usually gives most of these constructs artificially grown muscle patches to make them much faster and stronger than normal humans and even some metas.

Cyborg Zombies assembled from only the best parts Igor can find. This includes meta-human organs and the best cybernetics Igor can invent/buy/'borrow.' These all have negative energy generators in place of adaptive acid stomachs, and can fire negative energy blasts at their enemies. They are also equiped with energy blades, and thanks to combat A.I. in their brains, they are deadly swordsmen. Most Cyborg Zombies have vampirific organs and claws on their off-hand so they can siphon life from their foes.

Igor is very smart, but isn't proud enough to borrow other peoples' ideas. After taking Dr. Vahzilok's Eidolon creation process, Igor modified and latered it a little bit to suit his needs. The Eidolons Igor creates have vastly improved and perfected negative energy generators than the Cyborg Zombies have, and they wield a wide array of both close and ranged combat dark powers.

One of Igor's sayings is, 'Watht not.' When one of his creations falls, he makes the best of what is left over. He performs a Marrow Extraction process, specially designed by him, and creates Marrow Constructs from fallen zombie constructs. Marrow Constructs are made entirely of marrow and because of this, they are very hard to hit due to its...Gooey existence. They also have potent Negative Energy Generators in them that cover their marrow body with a thin shell of dark energies, granting them good resistance to most attacks and giving them a wide array of dark powers. Marrow Constructs can reorganize their very cellular build, allowing them to slip and slide through and between or even around most obsticals.

Igor has installed a modestly advanced Negative Energy generator within himself, and has a small but effective selection of dark assault powers.

Having spent a lot of time (there were a lot of mad steampunk scientists back in the day) around highly advanced machinery, including having to maintain and in some circumstances, repair or even entirely replace said machinery, Igor is a brilliant inventor and has a wide array of gadgets which he can use at any time, most of which come in the form of quick-use traps and tricks.

When Igor first came to the Rogue islands and met other inventors, he scoffed at their simple trap designs and sought to improve them.

For example, Igor carries around a packfull of specially modified caltrops, each of which contains a small vial filled with toxic chemicals. He finds these infinitely more effective than normal caltrops.

Igor, after breaking down the fourth wall and figuring out how the hell to even touch the damn little things, heavilly modified a triage beacon. The triage beacons Igor creates can hover, albeit slowly, and will follow him about. This unfortunately means that they can be targeted and destroyed, unlike their stationary versions, but Igor can whip new ones up extremely fast. To him, their vulnerability in exchange for mobility is an acceptable trade.

Igor managed to shrink down the modern mobile force field generator to a normal orb the size of a baseball, and wears it on his belt. Much harder to target that way. In the offchance somebody can home in on it and destroy it, he can make more easilly.

Igor really liked the modern design for Acid Motars. He liked his design better. Igor's Acid Motars all have stumpy strut legs which allow them travel from place to place, albeit slowly. They also become suspectible to attacks that can knock them around while in this mode, however, they are equiped with leg braces and may return to their more firm stationary modes at any time.

Igor didn't see why seeker drones had to act more like flashbang grenades than ordinary grenades. After a few tweaks, Igor found a way to fuse his land mines with normal seeker drones. He keeps both versions around now, both for disorienting and explosive situations.

Igor has applied some of his less subtle technology to his Negative Energy generators. When a minion of his dies, he makes the best of a bad situation and sets off their kill rigs. They will violently explode in a storm of something depending on what they are. Normal zombies explode in storms of adaptive acids. Cyborg Zombies explode in normal storms of fiery doom. Eidolons exlode in storms of pure negative energy. Marrow Constructs, oddly enough, explode in quantum energy for some strange reason Igor can't quite pin down. He isn't complaining though.

Name: Kheldragon
Nicknames: Khel, Khelly, Monster
Age: 18-19ish
Height: A little over six feet
Weight: Unknown, she breaks all electronic scales
Eye color: Purple, no whites, just a darker purple. Pupils are slitted and milky white.

Nobody knows very much about Kheldragon. Most people don't even want to know. They can sense something strange, something unnatural about her; she's been changed drastically by science, against her will. Most animals are afraid. Cats hiss and bristle, dogs bark and snarl, because they know she's something horribly unnatural, and they don't like it.
An aura of dead air surrounds her, like all the energy is being sucked out of it. Khel IS an energy-feeder, and no longer consumes matter due to serious wounds in her insides. The wounds don't heal, and nobody knows why that is either.
Nobody at all knows anything about her past, because those who made her what she is are all dead. She seems to have destroyed the lab, but has no memory of it.

Whatever happened to her, it must have been very horrible. She's been changed from a fiery, social, short-tempered dragon-girl to a quiet, withdrawn, polite thing. She is in constant pain from her wounds, but has long since gotten used to it. Something that changed her must have been horribly painful, because to her, getting knocked through a building or being cut in half doesn't hurt all that much, and she can move normally, not at all disabled by pain.

...Not much to say, because her past is mysterious. *UFO sounds*

Dragony-racial-ish abilities or something:
-Talons on her feet. She can jump up and slice, and disembowel things. However, she rarely fights in any way besides blasting or draining any more.
-A long, whiplike tail. Doesn't do much damage to anyone, but hurts like hell when you get hit with it. Her tail is prehensile, and she could use things like screwdrivers with it.
-Claws on her hands. The claws are just stuck onto her fingers in place of nails, and she still has five fingers and an opposable thumb.
-Thick, protective scales. They mostly protect her from heat, and everyday bullets. Most people, however, don't seem to use ordinary bullets.
-Dragon senses. Khel can see much more sharply than most humans, and a little ways into the ultraviolet spectrum. Her nose is a little worse than a dog's, and her night vision is a little better than a cat's.
-Fangs. Need I say more?

Powers:
-Typical Warshade powers. She can manipulate gravity to a certain extent, rip spacetime, drain life force, and blast people with negative energy. And, of course, transform into a space squid/lobster.
-Energy drain. Everyone who knows about Khel knows this already. She can siphon, and feed on, pretty much any type of energy, from radiation to heat. However, Khel can't help draining at least a little energy from anyone she touches. Ordinary, everyday civilians can be killed by bumping into her, and a lot of what she does in the Prelude to Justice (her supergroup) is destroying machines by draining them.
-Khelly is very, very, very creepy. Not that she really means to be, but she can use it well...and intimidate people excellently when she wants to...
Well, there is the aura of dead air around her, and the general sense of something horribly unnatural. That alone is enough to unnerve most people. Her face is especially creepy, with those violet, slit-pupiled eyes and the purple veins running down her cheeks. Get very close, and you can smell the stench of iron on her breath. Most people will recognize it as blood, and her fangs are stained reddish from all the blood she coughs up.
Add that to the general creepiness of a reptilian monster and, well...

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm...Spoilers? Yeah, these are details about her past, for those interested. So, yeah, spoilers.

Dragonistic was taken by Crey and used in an experiment. Her wings were clipped, and she would never be able to fly again. One of the most cruel things you can do to a dragon.

After that, she went through a long and painful procedure involving many needles which genetically modified her to absorb and feed on energy, as well as regenerate in case something went wrong. A Nictus was forced into her, using an experimental technique (nothing like what the Council was doing) which pretty much reached the limits of how much pain it's physically possible to feel, and took her pyrokinetic powers away. Her insides ruptured from the massive amounts of energy being fed into her at once, but she didn't die.

DE001 (DraconicExperiment One, as she was called) was examined, and it was then deemed that she would survive without outside help. She was put in a simple metal cage and left alone.

She healed, but at the time, very, very slowly. Her wings began to grow back, resulting in bony red spikes on her shoulders, and many of her internal wounds had healed, but she still had quite a few.

To keep her wings from growing back, she was injected with a serum that "sticks" to certain areas of the body and prevents regeneration. It stayed in her shoulders, of course, but also made its way to some of her internal organs, which wasn't supposed to happen. As a result, those wounds never healed, and still can't be healed.

DE001 spent a long time in that cage, vomiting blood onto the floor, her eyes and some veins on her face slowly turning a bright purple. She stopped depending on oxygen to live, since she could hardly breathe at all, and after a couple weeks, her mind suddenly went blank one day.

The lab exploded, killing everyone in it except her, in a flash of Nictus energy. Kheldragon flew over the War Walls, to somewhere over Galaxy City, where her powers burned themselves out and she dropped from the sky.

After waking up, she had absolutely no memory of the period after her mind blanked, and went and registered as a hero.

Name: Robert Douglas MacKenzie
AKA: The Canadian Shield
Tanker: Invulnerability/Super Strength/Flight (/Energy Mastery)

Bio: Robert MacKenzie was born in 1912, shortly before his father, Ian, left his home in northern Ontario to go fight in the First World War as a pilot for the Royal Air Force.

Ian MacKenzie was shot down over enemy territory, and was rescued by a French widow. They fell in love, and escaped back to freindly territory, where he continued flying for the RAF. It turned out, however, that his lover was actually a German spy. Given the option of turning her in, or being executed with her, he chose to try to escape. She tried to escape alone, and in the ensuing confusion, she was killed. MacKenzie was captured, and executed as a spy.

Robert thus grew up never really knowing his father. As soon as he could, he joined the RCAF, hoping to redeem his father's name. In 1940, he got the chance. Called upon by the RAF, he was sent to England to fight against the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain. He soon distinguished himself as a brilliant pilot, and a capable leader, and he was highly decorated.

At the same time, a revolution was happening. The Germans were fielding an increasing number of superhuman operatives. In response, the Allies began researching ways of creating "Super-soldiers" of their own. The British, looking for a fit, capable and heroic leader, chose MacKenzie for their program.

The Americans were the first to achieve success at creating the first Super-Soldier. He would go on to great success and fame, even before the British finally created their own.

On December 3, 1944, the "Great Canadian Shield" was born. While his American predecessor possessed peak human physical abilities, the Canadian Shield was capable of superhuman feats. Phenomenally strong and resilient, he was capable of resisting any small arms fire, and he was strong enough to tear tanks apart with his bare hands. Unfortunately, it was too late for him to make a serious impact, as the war was drawing to its conclusion.

The Canadian Shield took part in only two significant battles. The first was the fall of the legendary Reichsman. In this battle, the Canadian Shield was introduced to Statesman for the first time. The second was his epic battle with Der Grausigkeit (the Horror), another of Hitler's favorite operatives, second only to the Reichsman himself.

As the war ended, The Canadian Shield was decommisioned. He was a hero, but felt profoundly disappointed. He had been given such tremendous power, and he never really had a chance to put it to good use. Feeling ashamed, he went home to find he no longer fit in.

Many soldiers returning home from wars feel out of place, but it was even worse for MacKenzie. He was different now, vastly powerful, a giant among gnats. Worse, as time progressed, he realized he was no longer aging. Feeling alien, he began wandering, concealing his great powers and his identity.

For the next fifty years, he lived like that, changing his name and identity periodically. Until, that is, he came to Paragon. Here was a place filled with others like himself. Among all the other superhumans, he felt less alien. Even more, his old comrade, the Statesman, lived here. Feeling like he fit in, he followed the example of those around him, and for the frst time in half a centry, donned the old red uniform of the Canadian Shield.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since his return to action, he has found his powers have grown. Once, he was strong and tough. Now, his strength is beyond measure, and there are few forces in existence that can hurt him, let alone kill him. He has discovered he can now fly, by means he cannot explain, and his speed and agility have increased to superhuman levels.

He has also retired his wartime garb, in favour of the red and white his nation now uses. He has become a familiar sight, soaring over Steel Canyon, his red cape flowing in the wind.

The exception came with the return of the Rikti. He had come to Paragon too late to drive away the Rikti the first time they invaded, but this time he was there. Once more, the Canadian Shield went to war, so once again, the foes of freedom faced a Canadian Shield clad in the red uniform of old. With the Rikti defeated, he has since returned to his now familiar red and white.

The Council, in particular, have come to know him very well, as he regards them as the heirs to the Third Reich, and goes to any lengths to thwart their plans. Heaven only knows how he'll respond to the 5th Column...

Name: Koodori Ejji - Ejji is her given name, she is ok with nicknames as well. She has no hero name as she never really considered it the first few times she ever did anything and has figured most people wouldn't recognize her anyways...she hopes...

Age: 17

Base Archetype: Scrapper - broadsword/regeneration

For the most part a normal looking person, she is Japanese/American, though her hair is remarkably bright blond with clear blue eyes, she is on the shorter side and has a light body structure.

Her usual outfit is a black jacket and formal shirt and tie with slacks. She is also part of a iaido/kendo team and school, and as such will occasionally be seen wearing the standard uniforms for those. When she uses the full extent of her powers (which she doesn't really have control over) whatever she is wearing becomes a long white coat worm over a tight fitting armor that seems to move with herself. She also has a form that takes over when she is pushed past her physical and spiritual boundaries can withstand. At that point her will breaks the barrier of existence and becomes an insubstantial being, manifesting a nearly indestructible puppet body that she controls. This puppet looks like a human shaped void space wrapped head to toe in white robes and bandages.

Her usual powers are based off of her own spirit energy. As her discovery of her power occurred by coming to the aid of a child by blocking a thugs attack with her bokken. When the bokken took a direct hit by the sledgehammer the thug was wielding and was about to snap, Ejji was so focused on trying to repel the attacker that she transformed her bokken into a claymore. Seeing that the thug quickly ran off without any further combat necessary, and Ejji was laft dazed and confused while a little kid sat gawking at her. Since then she has learned how to use her spirit energy to manifest anything she wants, although it is easier for her to take a basic object and focus on it to alter it. As soon as she stops focusing the object returns to it's normal for or the manifested item disappears. From her iaido/kendo practice she has become naturally more agile than others, though with her preference to using large weapons leaves her less dexterous than some others, she makes up for it with her self healing powers. As she has learned no way of regulating her own energy, she tends to give off a very powerful aura, only tapping into a small amount of her potential in order to do most things. Because of this constant aura leak around her though the energy given off, whenever she is struck or expends a certain amount of energy, the loose energy being given off will return to her to mend and rejuvenate her, making her very durable in combat. She is only barely capable of consolidating her energy to get even tougher or heal herself in a rapid burst, and only occasionally does she release her true potential, mostly on accident and only when she is heavily emotionally swayed.

Her unnatural powers are that of void. When she lies on the brink of death and exhausted of all energy, she has found that her will to achieve something can reach beyond the natural boundaries of existence, momentarily detaching herself from physical existence, modifying her own body into a new form that is vast in powers and nearly unstoppable. Using this body for a short time like a puppet, Ejji can quickly get any goal done. Afterwards however Ejji is automatically returned to her normal body and left pretty much for dead unless she gets immediate help. she has absolutely no control over if this happens, and it will only trigger if her will is strong enough, meaning it isn't a guaranteed thing to happen when she is about to die.

EDIT: References to what i mean by void.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Void_%2...cal_element%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_el..._philosophy%29

EDIT: Forgot Personality!
She is a rather headstrong and slightly rebellious kind of individual. Rebellious not against authority (unless she deems it outlandish), but mainly against particulars of stereotypes.
Though small in relative stature, she is quick to action, believing in such things as the quickest route to getting things done is a straight line and most things can be solved through some kind of physical show of force.
Her tendencies usually push her to hanging out with the more thuggish people even if she doesn't ever break the laws, and she prefers to take part in physical sports. this isn't to say however that she doesn't like things such as shopping, and she goes rather nuts over cute stuff.
When it gets down to it though, she will stand firm for her beliefs and those she cares about, taking it to the extremes of her own life without thought of surrender.

Name: Acanous
Age: Unknown, somewhere between 24 and 2,369 years of age.
Origin: Magic
AT: Scrapper, Dark Melee/Dark Armour/Body Mastery.

Acanous teleported into Paragon city at the end of the first Rikti invasion. After being "Found" by Manticore and Synapse, as his method of teleportation is quite similar to Rikti tech, he was given the chance to aid in the city's restoration.

Not fully trusting this extradimensional being, especially after discovering that he's effectively immortal and mystically bound to the Void, Longbow "Requested" that Acanous' saber, the source of his teleportation powers, be placed into their custody, as it may "Interfere with the EMT".
In exchange, they loaned him a pair of boots belonging to the fallen hero Galaxy Man, allowing Acanous to leap phenominal distances.

After grudgingly accepting his power limitations, Acanous joined the supergroup U.L.T.R.A., and began working to protect Paragon City covertly, trying to keep his powers, and how he controls them, as secret as possible.
U.L.T.R.A. has benefitted greatly from Acanous' teleportation knowhow, and an emergency base-teleportation node is now standard issue to all personnel.

Acanous has taken special intrest in Warburg, the Shadow Shard, and the Rikti War Zone.

Personality: Acanous is Cocky, owing to his immortality, and a joker. He enjoys a challenge, and sometimes limits himself "To make things more interesting".
He doesn't like pain, and would normally be quite lazy, However, he is fiercely competitive- winning is more than a goal, it's his way of life. To that effect, he always packs 3 warheads garnered from Warburg and an HVAS from Vanguard, Just in Case.

Surprisingly, he often gets along well in teams, thinking of combat like a sport.

You can't spell Slaughter without laughter

All your gonna do is just farm behemoths anyways.

Name: Unknown ((It is a well kept secret between her and her older sister.))
Alias: Nox Light
Age: 16
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 108 lbs.
Eye Color: Violet
Hair Color: A dark, rich chestnut brown
Origin: Natural
AT: Martial Arts/Super Reflexes/Body Mastery Scrapper

Background:

Born in a small villiage to the North of Paris, France, Nox came to Paragon with her older sister, the Heroine now known as Kayda Azreal. Both of their parents had been in law enforcement, and encouraged the girls toward thier dreams of becoming heroes. Even though she had studied kickboxing and other forms of combat, Nox's real passion had always been for dancing. Considered a prodigy at The Royal Academy of Dance, many thought that by the age of 18 she would be one of the worlds Prima Ballerinas. But a terrible car accident stole her own dreams from her when she broke both of her legs. Even though she healed and was able to walk again, she could no longer keep proper form while dancing, her knees often buckling and ruining her steps.
When her elder sister turned 18 and decided to come to Paragon City to begin her life as a Hero, Nox was urged by both her mother and father to go with her. With her own dreams ruined she figured she had nothing to lose. Now she fights in Paragon City as a Registered Hero, but she has never forgotten her owns dreams and what she lost.

Personality:

Nox is a very shy, almost anti-social young woman. Often intimidated by people she will usually hide a few steps behind her sister in social situations. She almost never initiates a conversation, and sometimes jumps when people talk to her.
In combat, she's almost like a totally different person. She often is the first to charge into battle, heedless of danger. She fights fiercly, despite her accident she is still very quick on her feet and a skilled fighter.

She has a very heavy French accent, and if shes not paying attention she will start speaking French altogether. She's interested in the typical things 16 year old girls are interested in: Boys, clothes, music, and boys.
She is not very fond of animals, especially dogs, finding them distasteful and as she puts it "smelly".

((As of right now I'm not involved in any RPs, although I am considering dropping into a couple here such as Paragon University or Super Hero 101. Thats all I can think of to put for now, if/when I do get involved in any of the RPs here or get one of my own going elsewhere I will update her stats.))

Eye Color: Pink and light yellow
Hair Color: Bright, almost fluorescent, pink
Origin: Natural
AT: Claws/Super Reflexes

Image:

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2.../Wafers010.jpg

Background:

Wafers was different from when she was born, her mother being a cat that was used in animal testing experiments to give humans enhanced animalistic powers. Her mother was genetically altered during the tests to try and make the feline DNA more compatible for transfers. After the experiments were brought to public light however, the project was shut down and the cat was released into treatment for the things done to it.

The cat was released into the care of a family after a while as it's conditions were maintainable through light medication. it was during this time that the cat met up with another and had kittens. All the offspring had curiosities, displaying different quirks, some super powered, some just odd. They were all taken to the vet to be examined and cared for.

sadly many of the litter were deemed unable to survive and were put to sleep, the rest got put under observation.

Wafers was considered the most normal from a comparative point of view. She retained the normal shape of a kitten, though she had the oddity of being a bright pink(which reminded the vets of candy, leading her to be named Wafers). Her other abilities quickly showed up as razor sharp and virtually indestructible claws, the ability to shape shift into a short catlike child, and the ability to turn invisible.

Personality:

Wafers is highly intelligent, though that is easily masked by her completely childish ways of looking at things. She is exceptionally outgoing at times, but only after observing the one she wants to talk to for a while first.

First and foremost she is a cat (thinks allot like one too) and truly prefers her kitten form, only turning into a cat person for practical purposes. She thinks of fighting as more of a game than anything else, dodging about her opponent randomly scratching away at them.

EDIT:

Her normal form looks something similar to this...

UPDATE!

Name: Experiment 2.0
Real name: John Ballard
Age: Mid-Twenty range.
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 165 Pounds.

Description: Commonly introducing himself as a 'Technological extraordinaire,' and then some kind of situation-sensitive title, Experiment 2.0 is a hero among heroes- He will save a child from a burning building, fight off a group of alien invaders, and beat down a Super Villain, and still be back in time to watch some Comedy Central.

While he is not the STRONGEST hero around, he is very intelligent, though it is usually hidden behind a facade of jokes and immaturity. When the situation calls for it, 2.0 can be very serious and very smart. Sometimes, he'll even remain that way for longer than an hour.

He respects all who use a higher amount of technology than him- One of his heroes is Dr. West, according to 2.0, "A master of technology, and owner of many shiny things." Although, due to this infatuation with science, robotics and technology, he has a large disdain for anything magical- For a while, he even tried to disprove magical abilities, and failed miserably.

He used to be incredibly anti-social, sticking himself in his lab all day, working on new projects and all assortment of other things to keep his hands busy. Since his younger sister, Jenny Ballard, came to live with him though, he has had trouble staying in. With the combined efforts of her and her boyfriend, Experiment's sidekick 'Liquid-Burst,' he has been unable to finish many of his larger projects, and those he does finish usually explode within moments of completion.

Experiment 2.0 is a very positive person most of the time, trying to make everyone laugh and keep everybody happy, but in times where his friends are in danger, or one of his arch-enemies are around, his good nature leaves almost instantly, and he becomes almost homicidal to defend those he cares for.

Physical Description: Blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, and very athletic, Experiment is a rather good looking guy, though he has shown very little interest in relationships. That is one of the few things his family and friends can't change- He has yet to truly date anyone, mostly due to his stubborn anti-social inner half.

He is usually in metallic red armour, his suit of choice, but he also has a costume he will go out in public in during his off hours. Both are rather well made, and the secret identity costume of his even has a little dab of technology in it in the rare case he needs to fight quickly.

Name: Myou Meka

Height: about 5"4'
Weight: 50
Eye Color: tends to be a glowing light blue, can change at will
Hair Color: deep black, same as eyes
Skin color: ale whitish, can change same as eyes
Origin: Technology

Powers:

Empathy/electricity – RP she technically is able to manipulate just about anything she wants, but purposefully denies ever doing so because she does not want to manipulate or harm any other being, as she would like them to view her. Instead she limits herself to mending those in need and using her own physical system to send off electricity. Given her ability to gather and store loose particles as energy to power herself as a backup system, she utilizes it as her only form of defense and occasional assault, other than her occasional meek punches and kicks. The use of her electrical system will stress her body and eventually make her fall unconscious if she uses it too much.

Aside from that, she can effortlessly interact with any machine as well as people. If people desire they may even utilize her as a supercomputer or home desktop.

Back story:

Initial robots

http://www.acceleratingfuture.com/mi...production.jpg

From the get-go with technology it was a dream to create machines that are as complex as humans. It was also a fear that robots may surpass humans, and the repercussions of such an outcome. Robotics has been used endlessly since they first achieved capability at practical and efficient uses in production, hazard control, and many other fields. The most common robot is likely to be the factory line machines and maintenance machines.

Advanced Robots

http://www.ils.albany.edu/robotics/croppedblackaibo.jpg
http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content..._usb_robot.jpg

Tirelessly people kept pushing technology foreword, creating more and more detailed robotics. Achieving machines rather akin to zombies, they weren’t as capable as humans, nor had any form of thought or personality. They were amazing servants in that they followed every command precisely. They still had many shortfalls however such as they tended to rely on their own structure that didn’t allow it to move as freely as humanoid forms did in urban environments.

Cyborgs/Androids

http://www.ieee.org/portal/cms_docs/...cs/robauto.jpg
http://www.cyberpunkreview.com/images/i-robot07.jpg
http://www.griffin-designstudio.com/...es/android.jpg
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...C_CRW_9331.jpg
http://www.photoshopdesign.net/stude...uce-cyborg.jpg

Eventually these issues were looked at and overcome, pushing past many of the barriers limiting technology by utilizing newer fabricated parts that closely mimicked natural biological parts. Robotics at this point was able to take on a life of its own. Still tending to rely on some initial programming or ground data to develop upon, it simulated human personality almost flawlessly, and given some time robots came to develop their entirely own personalities.

Androids had finally been formed alongside more traditional appearing robots. Both operating on an equally detailed level, the only difference being that robots identified themselves purposefully as unique as androids were meant to bridge the gap and question the difference of man and machine.

Cybernetic surgery and cyborgs had become as commonplace as androids, and the question that people have always wondered if robots could be sentient beings inevitably had to be faced.

For all the evidence they had, they decided upon admitting robot sentience. Robotics became a race of their own, given they were of an entirely different structure from any other sentient race, and they were created in a different fashion than any other “race” they became classified as a new branch.

Biotechnology/cloning

http://www.nebcathcon.org/cloning2.jpg

The issue of souls still lingered, and many scholars, both man and machine, searched the question. For all their seeking they never found any particular conclusion, though they did assume certain points such as the ability to dream, imagine, and experience unnatural feelings such as the “outer body experience” was something that they had begun to feel and may point towards something greater.

Biotechnology and clones faced the same inquiry, wondering if they as an individual had a soul to call their own or their general state of being in the world, as they were looked upon even more so than robots to break many of the preconceived notions held prior about human nature and much that lied beyond.

Nanotechnology/artificial structures

http://bradfuller.com/blog/wp-conten.../nanotech.jpeg

Nanotechnology, being something that had lingered for many years and given much to the advancement of humans and robots alike, continued to move it’s own way as well. Tiny robots used in medical treatment that closely mimicked natural human cells had been around and used for a long while. As all technology goes, it was a field that seemed to be reaching its plateau. There was one major push to consider however.

Strange Machine

http://www.joelertola.com/tutorials/...gifs/Brain.gif
http://os.typepad.com/my_weblog/imag..._materials.jpg

With the flawless integration of man and machine achieved in cybernetics achieved alongside cloning and androids, many thought there was no final hurdle to achieve. They had mapped the entire human structure down to the necessary matter and locations, and robotics had already become an entity of its own. What was left to consider was the final and first level of creation. Birth.

Nanotechnology held one last secret that many had never dared to conceive, but as a viable option, it was studied quietly by a small group of scientists of all kinds. Replicating the perfect base cell that is the basis of all humans and life in general using a blend of synthetic and biological material, a single cell unique to itself and the rest of the world, this was the basis for a single entity and the final leap. This cell mimicked a complete egg cell and stem cell, having complete information in order to create a perfectly engineered being.

This cell was not the final step, in that it was used to grow an entity which was the perfect supercomputer, though it would lead there. This being was the perfect entity in that it had the full ability to generate and control any aspect of existence. It however lacked any will, or seemed to, which was purposeful. It was used as a test subject for a short time, only doing small things, and never used for goals of destructions or domination, simply tests to see what it may be capable of and what may be able to come of it.

The machine came to feel sorrow and resentment towards those that had created it. Unable to do anything to free itself from their grasp, it felt isolated and withering. As a last hope, the being used one of its own cells, diving it off and merging it’s data with the cell. It let the cell grow secretly, incubated within it’s body.

Years passed, and the being was still forced to do constant tasks and studies as if it had no personal feelings or desires, waiting until the being it grew could finally be given birth. Once the time had finally come the being broke its binding commands, ensuring it’s own demise, and freed the entity it had been growing into the world. Causing mayhem around the scientists, the being managed to launch the entity off into the underlying sewer network, where it could wander and seek a life of it’s own. As a final grace to the entity, the being named it like how it never got a name, calling it Myou Meka. Strange Machine.

Personality:

Myou Is on the shy side, usually truing to avoid conflict with others, she will willingly leap in the way however if someone is going to get hurt. She spends most of her time around machines and reading books, mostly pertaining to philosophy, sociology, psychology, and technology, occasionally making notes in the books when she runs across anything inaccurate or incorrect. She is intelligent beyond most people’s ability to really even understand, though one might never be able to guess as she always keeps silent unless some one talks to her, in which case she will be as direct as possible with her responses while trying to edge out of the conversation.

((Tried to remove any reference to anything technical and keep it simple ^_^, feel free to talk to me about it though. Also, feel free to tell me if any of this sounds like too much or is off.))
