Wow, I totally knew that too! I was checking out the superpacks on beta server, but that was a week or so ago so I must have forgotten about those pieces. Thanks for the reminder
-
Dunno where exactly this would go, but this seemed like the best place.
So in the picture that accompanied the eulogy for Statesman there's a picture with a bunch of random heroes with costume sets from the costume creator. You can see steampunk sets, valkyrie sets, cyborg, omega, ascension, etc... you get the point. But there's one set that eludes me and I really want to know if it was thrown in because it's getting added to the creator soon or I'm just missing something. Here's a pic of the three people wearing said pieces; hopefully someone can shed light on this for me. And btw, I own every costume piece that is available on the market currently (all old costume packs pre-freedom, and all post-freedom).

Only TPN and MoM reward 1 emp merit after the first completion in a 20hr lockout period, all the rest give 1 astral merit after the first completion.

This has been my main stalker forever and the toon's pve build is fully IO'd with purps, but I want to start pvping again. I know with the f'd up i13 pvp neither katana nor elec armor are the greatest for pvp, but I really don't feel like lvling something new just because Castle killed my fun. Anyway, after reading other builds I put this together, hoping I at least got close to what it needs to be.

This was made for zone and lvl 50 arena. I also currently have Cardiac, Vorpal, and Barrier but I know there are better incarnate abilities for pvp. Any suggestions would be appreciated -
I'm just glad my stalker will actually be worth something now, she's has been crying in her corner since i13 when Castle and Posi put her on a time-out

After dealing with the graphic issues that came with i17, and finally getting CoH stabilized, the last patch came out and screwed it all up again. Since the last patch I've been getting weird shadows ingame. It wasn't until today that I noticed it was showing things from other games I play on my computer...
Here's a screenshot of what's going on. If you notice just below my toon you can see S2Games in the shadow/glitch. I've had Heroes of Newerth (which is made by S2 Games) installed for about 9 months now and this has never happened before.
Up close of S2Games shadow:
Here's the logo it shows when I load Heroes of Newerth, which is what I can see part of in CoH:
I know it's rendering this glitch as a shadow because they become much less noticable as the sun goes down ingame. As night hits they are all but visible, but you can still tell they are there. You can't really see them on the streets or sidewalks in the screenshot, but you can still see them near the substation:
Note: This doesn't happen in regular missions, just in the world/outdoor missions.
The graphics settings have been working w/o problem at a steady 30ish FPS since I stabilized CoH after i17. Some days I can run at 4x FSAA, some days not. Don't tell me to check my drivers, I have. I've had graphics cards burn out on me before and this isn't what happens (I have screenshots of CoH from when my last graphics card burned out), so I'm 99% sure that's not the issue.
Any help would be awesome. And I'm not illiterate when it comes to computers, so if you know something, lay it to me.
Here's my CoH Helper info and a screenshot of GPU-Z.

Quote:Some of us vets like those AE farms. Want to know why? Because after over 5 years of playing this game you get sick of the grind. I've done both the CoH and CoV content so many times I'm sick of it. I love making new toons and trying them out, but 90% of builds don't start being fun till mid-late 20s (for me personally). AE is pretty nice for skipping all that boring crap. I'll totally agree that the general game IQ of high-level players is going down (thanks to AE), but AE farms aren't completely evil.Don't hate on the Devs, hate on the exploiters. They're creating the cheating situations the Devs are then having to react to.
In case you think I'm just spouting in defense of AE exploits, I'm not, I've been playing since Dec '04 and have 7 lvl 50s all lvl'd through regular teaming.
And you're completely right, the devs COULD care less about farming, and I wish they did sometimes. I think you were looking for "couldn't care less" which is what the actual saying is. -

Being made of electricity, the jolt H'taed sent throught the floor only made a tickling sensation for SD. She was going to jump through the hole in the floor after H'taed but stopped when he wasn't down there. Being made of electricity also gave her lightning reflexes and could match H'taed's speed. After catching him in her field of vision, she matched his stride, following him as he ran around Daonri and Falcon. At the right moment SD turned, stopped, and dropped a solid wall of psychic force where H'taed was going. Hopefully he was more attentive on Daonri and Falcon.

As El D passed out on the ground two things happened. Quickshot started to go take a look at El D and a woman with skin as pale as snow rounded the corner at the top of the stairs. She was wearing a full length dress that was a pale blue, with an intricate silver pattern running down the left side and along the bottom hem. She looked between the three beings in her entrance hall and spoke.
Who are you three to start a party such as this in my entrance hall, and not even invite the lady of the house? Her voice was sweet, but with a cold edge, as if she could freeze your blood in a second. Hearing the voice, Quickshot stopped and glanced up. So what have we? A half-demon, a human, and a warwolf from, she pointed at Quickshot, your dimension. Or a Fenrisian wolf, if Im mistaken. She walked a few steps down the stairway, her movements fluidly graceful.
Null must be up to his old tricks again. As she spoke, she waved her hand. The crater in the middle of the floor instantly healed itself, as if nothing had happened. So, which on of you is it? Quickshot felt a tug from one of her pockets. It was the blue sphere shed found earlier. Unzipping the pocket, the sphere rose out and up towards the woman. Grabbing it out of the air, the woman spoke to it, Ah sister, so you have been found. I wonder if your brother was found. She glanced to the side and mumbled, "Or mine for that matter."
Quickshot shook her head and found her voice. She had seen some strange things in her profession, but this topped most of them. Who are you and what is that that I found?
Me? My name is Puteulanus Glacies. Some call me the Frozen heart." She shrugged. "As for what Im holding, I can tell you neither what it does nor what it is for. That is for you to find out. She tossed it back to Quickshot, who caught it deftly. Now then. Since most beings arent able to get inside my Palace, let alone see it, you three must be special. As such, I shall allow you free rein to see the inside as you like. She paused, let her gaze linger over the three. I would suggest you do not enter the library again. A second time would not be so pleasant. She turned to leave, but right as she was about to round the corner and be out of sight she turned again. And dont come looking for me. If you did find me, your time on this world, or any other world, would end shortly. With that she turned with a swish of her dress and left.
Still wondering what had just happened, Quickshot put the sphere back in her pocket. She grabbed a stolen Council insignia and flashed it at Fenris. She hoped it gave her more control than the whistle El D had. Stay here, Ill go check out our friend. Crouching down by El D she could see the nasty crack down the back of his head. Eaassh, thats gotta hurt, she thought. Looking towards Fenris, she whistled and waved him over.
((This was added with the good graces of Diov (and Null) If you wish to know anything more PM me, or if you wish to add something PM Diov as this is his world and RP))
-
((For El D and Blood Wolffe: This is gonna be long so don't post anything yet))
-
"Move," Quickshot whispered to Fenris. She dropped on her back and fired three shots at Warheart. The shots were like small insulators, designed to absorb electricity.
-------
SD just laughed as the power cord hit her. She absorbed the energy, and grew slightly. Grabbing the cord, she ripped it out of Aoleleb's hands and threw it to the side. In return, Aoleleb was about to get a faceful of electricity. -
SD held out her hand and the sword stopped about 2 feet infront of her.
"For me? Thank you."
She grabbed the sword and charged Aoleleb. As she swung it at his midsection, the electricity along the blade flared red. -
Falcon's sword just stopped in mid air. Static Daonri (SD) turned around and wagged a finger in his face.
"Tsk, tsk."
With telekinetic force, she sent him flying towards Aoleleb, hoping to take out two birds with one Falcon. -
((FYI Telekinesis may be auto-hit, but it's not auto-hold, it's auto-pushback. You can still do stuff, you just can't get close to the user. So if you're going by game terms, Charles has about a 30yrd sphere around him that people can't go into. Unfortunately, in game terms, it's just people, so flying boulders and such, telekinesis has no effect on them.))
Hearing noises from down the hall, Quickshot put the book down and grabbed her pistol and the blue sphere. And I was just getting to the good part too, she thought. The yellow eyes that had been staring at her slunk back into the darkness. Moving through the bookcases, she made her way back to the main hallway. Somehow it looked different this time, but she couldn't put her finger on it. This time, there were no intersections; the hallway just went straight. Stopping about where she remember one to be, she knocked on the wall. Solid. She continued until she reached the entrance hall.
Standing at the edge of the light, but still covered in darkness, she could see what was causing the ruckus. A Warwolf?!? Now way. But... she looked around, hmm, no handler. This could be good. The other person looked like a demon, or at least part demon. Searching through her pouch, Quickshot pulled out a small red shell with three orange runes scribed on the side. They were draconic for "Holy Demon Fire." Loading the shell, she took aim at El D's chest, then pulled the trigger. -
Quickshot continued down the hallway. A number of times it was intersected, but her instincts told her to continue in a straight line. Her contacts, which were specially designed (and stollen) from FlameTech Corporation, recorded everything she saw and did a number of nifty things, one of which was nightvision. A good 200 yards beyond the entrance hall was another set of doors. Beyond them was a two story library, filled to the brim with books; books on shelves, books on the floor, books everywhere. She noted that even with no windows or lights, the room was light up like a sunny day.
Holstering her pistols, Quickshot pulled a book of one of the selves. Titled [u]The Blue Queen[u], it was written by a person Quickshot had never heard of. Putting it back, she continued down an isle. Most of the titles didn't ring a bell, but a couple she recognized. She figured it must be a collection of books from all over the multiverse.
Having walked for so long, taking a break to catch up on some reading didn't seem so bad. Quickshot grabbed a book call [u]Crystal Daggers[u] and sat down in a chair she had found a couple isles back. Next to it was a small table, on which she placed the icy-blue sphere she had found earlier; it still radiated a soft blue light. She then placed one of her pistols next to it, incase need came up quickly. Settling in, she began to read. The thought hadn't dawned on her, but for being inside a huge chunk of ice, it was suprisingly confortable (temperature wise), but none of the ice was melting...
In the shadows of a tall bookcase, two yellow eyes peered at her, watching every move.
((I didn't really describe it earlier, but the ceiling and all the walls are made of ice (it has a soft inner glow to it), the floors are marble, and anything that would be wood, is made of mahogany.)) -
Having reached the bottom slopes of the icy range in this area, Quickshot started up the mountains. About 4 miles up was huge ice palace carved into the side of a glacier. A devious smile came onto her face.
"Wonder if anyone's home..."
Guns cocked, safeties off, Quickshot was heading for the giant door when she heard wolves howling. She cocked her head trying to ascertain the direction, but with the crags around her it was almost impossible. So the legendary Fenris wolves may not be a legend after all, she thought. If these ones are as big as they sound, I'd rather be inside than out. She opened the doors and headed inside the palace. They closed behinder her on their own accord.
She walked into the largest entrance hall she'd ever seen. It had to be a trick as the outside of the structure didn't look this big. Straight ahead of her were two curving staircases heading upstairs, between them a dark hallway leading deeper into the palace. There were a few doors on either side of the room, but she ignored them for now. Guns ready, Quickshot headed down the hallway, into the darkness.
((Hope you don't mind me making up things in the icy wastelands. More to come later))

It was as if she had stepped into another world. The forest just stopped. There was no slow trickle of ice and snow; there was forest, then there was tundra. Seeing cliffs in the distance, Quickshot headed for them.
About half way there, she noticed a sparkle some ways off. Tightening her scarf, she changed direction towards the sparkle. Sunk about halfway into the snow was an icy-blue sphere. Crouching down, she pulled it out. The sphere was about the size of an eightball and glowed softly. Quickshot tried to feel for what it's purpose was, but it was blank. Standing up she looked around. Nothing caught her eye that could have left it there; possibly from the last inhabitants of this World that is Flat. Dropping it in an empty pocket she kept on walking... -
Thankfully the wind was blowing away from Quickshot (ei. North), so the fire was mainly going away from her. Woops, time to go, she thought as she lowered herself to the ground. Knowing she wasn't going to be able to follow H'taed, she headed south, towards the icy mountains.

Here goes...
1) Virtue
2) It's not that much different from doing it on the forums, except it's live. Just act like the character would, talk about contacts giving missions and such. It's all about building your character's personality into more than just pixels on the screen.
3) A great place to find artists to commision drawings of your characters is deviantart.com. It's a wonderful site and there's quite a few CoXers on there too. Another good one is MMOart.com, except it's hella expensive. There's anothe mainstream one, but I can't remember the name.
4) Starting an RP thread isn't rocket science. The trick is to find something interesting that hasn't been done. Don't expect to get up to the 500 page mark right away, but if the idea is good people will join. From what I've seen, you'll probably get a lot of people that will start in, but only six or seven will stick around. It's all relative so don't take this as set in stone.
Hope this helps, and welcome to the boards; though it looks like you've been here for a bit already. -
((Eh, I think it needs closure. But yes, I would agree that it seems to have died off.))

That, my friend, is a work of art! It perfectly displays everything about her
It's "short" length is eclipsed by it's perfection. Words fail me.

((For those of you that don't remeber what happened between Ragrok and Quickshot, refer to page 6))
Quickshot laughed at Ragrok's attempt to intimidate her. Hearing what sounded to be fighting coming from the distance, she decided it would be more fun to check it out that try and take down this lumbering behemoth. Knowing full well that he wouldn't be able to run very fast with all the rock covering him, let alone catch her, she turned and headed in the opposite direction. With a wave and a fleeting smile, she disappeared into the forest like a ghost.
Crouching on a branch of a tall tree, Quickshot had a perfect view of the fight between H'taed and the others, though she was unlikely to be seen. She recognized H'taed from his runed armour, as a friend had told her about fighting him on Praetorian Earth... but these others were unknown. From what she could make out, the one currently engaged with H'taed could control elements, or at least stone/earth. The other looked like he could conjure or control fire. There was a third she could make out, but that one looked unconcious.
