Dark Melee/ Shield Defense scrapper all the way something about the giant pile of bodies after a battle makes me feel accomplished

The downside to Shield Defense is that you cannot take it with some of the attack sets - Dark Melee and Dual Blades are excluded. There may be others I can't think of off-hand.

well I was able to make a pretty good build with no super rare recipes (I think the most expensive is obliteration) if you want some ideas here is the build
Code:this is actually better than the one I am currently using the obliteration set in shadow maul is actually sciroccos dervish and the performance shifter in dark consumption is efficacy adapter in game and numinas covalence is replaced with makos bite if I remember correctly. I farm at +4x8 with a team and I can tank +0 avs with minimal problems. here is my build for a dm/sd scrapper, if it helps. if you are patient you can probably get it for ~250 mill (this one was funded by 2 LotG global rech enhancements i sold for 110mill each plus what i had already)

I have a lvl 50 DM/SD scrapper and I recently spent about 400mill equipping him with IO sets. His ranged defence is currently at 47% melee is 43% and aoe is 49%. I love this build and it has allowed me to solo +3x8 with no problem (I have not tried going any harder as of yet) I was teaming the other day and I was asked by a blaster what my smashing and lethal defence was and i told him they hovered around 17% and he seemed shocked. what is the difference between ranged/melee/aoe defence versus more specific types? which is better? To clarify I am not asking for build suggestions as I am to poor to do anything about that even if I wanted to. Thanks in advance for the help

oops it wouldnt let me copy off of the pop up window so i just typed it. in the target box it is spelled correctly

says "the name c:\users\.....\city of heroes\cohupdator.exe -fullscreen 1 specified in the target box is not valid make sure the path and the file name are correct

I made a shortcut on the desktop awhile ago so i went to properties and under the shortcut tab i made it run as a maximized window (i couldn't find fullscreen) and all it did was make the updator maximized did i do it right?

I changed the resolution on the game to "windowed" and now it refuses to start. after the updator it spends a miniute loading and then crashes because it is "not responding" i tried going to another computer to change it back but it didnt work. can anyone help me?

Typhon awoke to see Pious's mighty wings beating above him, he was still disoriented from his last attack and he took a moment to figure out where he was. That boost was like a sugar rush and gave him a big crash.
"Did anyone grab my sword?" he asked and looked around, no one had "Ill be right back guys"
Typhon rolled out of Pious's arms and dove downward using his momentum to coast back to the dragons. Most of the dragons were encased in the earth crushed by its weight but one had its head sticking out of the ground and was wimpering, his sword embedded in its jaw, it was a pitiful sight.
Typhon looked back at the group of mortals growing ever smaller, even now they were mere specks in the sky, far enough away they would not see him. He reached down placed his hand on the dragons nose and looked into its eyes
"In life you were a mighty creature noble in its purest form and for that you have received a second chance" The dragon then began to glow with a red light Typhon's sword clattered on the ground and the dragon began to shimmer and shrink into a small infant. Typhon reached down and picked it up "go now and avoid this caravan it will bring nothing but misery to you" he said and thrrew it into the air.
Typhon sheathed his sword and walked to the other dragons ending the misery of some and changing the others.
When he was done Typhon leaped into the air beating his wings to gain speed. The sooner they reached their goal the sooner the earthlings would leave. -
