Of course she won. She's much better equipped! She thin, flexible, attractive, and wearing a skin tight outfit.. err...

Good or bad.. I decided to put up a thread for Motivational posters using screen shots (or art) from CoX. Feel free to add your own to the thread!
Here's my first contribution:

Name: Jin Yae
Gender: Female
Species: Dark Elf, Similar to Drow of D&D
Age: approx. 23
Hair: White
Eyes: Dark Purple
Skin: Black with a blue cast.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 110 Lbs
File image: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...erancecard.jpg
Powers: Ability to create and control undead, and significant power over something termed "Shadow Magic." She also seems capable of flight.
Other: Jin is accompanied by a strange ghostly serpent entity called Ezikiel. Ezikiel remains invisable to most unless they are near death or of significant attunement to the realm of death. Their relationship is strange in that neither have dominance over the other, but is possibly symbiotic, though the details of this relationship are not quite understood. They seem completely inseperable by any known means.
Known Backstory:
Jin was Mistakenly Transported to this world by Portal Corp. Upon arrival, she had killed several scientists who she belived to have purposely abducted her. She could have killed more if it weren't for the interference for a hero team that quickly defeated her and had her contained in the Zig. Upon her escape, she swore vengence on Paragon and its heroes, though some have begun to suspect her attitudes have changed slightly over time.
For more, read "Jin Yae: An Origin Story" -
((This is an IC storyline that details the events prior to Jin's first internment at the Zig. Feel free to comment on it and ask questions. Jin Yae is a Dark Elf (think Drow) Necromancer on Virtue server and eventually I plan on putting a Virtuverse page up for her.))
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jin Watched from the podium as the latest worshiper of the day prayed to the obsidian statue of the Goddess. Ezikiel's thoughts whispering in her mind as it expressed its distaste for the individual. Something always irritated the ghostly serpent when it watched the steady stream of followers. Jin suspects that its the lack of honesty that irritates it the most, as it has been known to smell a lie from time to time.
The followers eventually stood and walked away, and Jin signaled for the guards to close the door behind him. The Temple of Spiders needs no more visitors for the rest of the day, and she had work to do.
Work usually involved either taking inventory of the day's coffers, or research at the behest of the ruling Nobles. This time Ezikiel was bidding her to do the research instead, letting the lesser priestesses tally the day's earnings. She never fully understood the serpent's motives, all she knew is that it had always been with her since she could remember, and that nobody else could see it like she could. Rarely, other have been able to gain a glimpse of its form, ever twisting around her, usually on the brink of death, just before they passed on. However, it most certainly that no other living being could hear its voice, its keening cry when she is in battle, or its near constant whispering of the many secrets it seemed to know when not.
That said, its always seems to have her best interests in mind, and it had long since been her secret tutor in arts of magic, shadow and death, and possibly the main reason she'd ascended to the rank of High Priestess so quickly.
However today.. as she walked down the light-less hallway, something felt Wrong and even Ezikiel's hackles had begun to rise. Then, with out warning, the whole world felt as if it was suddenly shifted sideways and the area around her blurred into nothingness.. then just as suddenly.. she was surrounded by light!
As Jin's eyes recovered from the sudden exposure, she was already very aware that she was surrounded, Ezikiel's angry snapping and cries of danger made certain of that. Then she saw them.. humans, mages no doubt... she'd been abducted by some foul, surface crawling, humans.
"... You just made a mistake, human scum!" she cried Knowing all to well that they probably didn't understand a word she said... still it felt good to say it. And even better to see the look of shock and surprise when the shadowy bolt flew from her hand and impacted the nearest one square in the chest, causing the man to crumple to the ground and lay still.
Pandemonium erupted around her as the humans fled toward the exit more bolts of shadow and the few that didn't escape the room lay motionless on the floor. To give chase would be foolish, they surely would run to where more capable warriors could defend them, so she would have to plan her escape instead. Instead, she set about calling forth the walking dead, using the few corpses already in the room to host the energies of the netherworld with minimal preparation.
Satisfied with her work, she began to move out.. but just as she touched the door, Ezikiel turned and hissed at the far wall... which soon burst apart as a large... almost impossibly large, Human stepped through, dressed in garishly bright colors and shouting something at the top of his lungs. <... Itsss a challenge, Mistressss.> the serpent whispered... its hunger for a meaningful battle radiating into her. "Well then... Let battle be joined!" she cried commanding her servants to swarm the massive man.
At first it looked like he didn't stand a chance, as he was quickly covered by the bodies of the freshly dead, biting and clawing away at his bulk. Her slowly forming smile, quickly fell away as the hulking man bellowed and threw on of the zombies clear over her head!
She cursed and flung another bolt at the beast, only to find the creature, whatever it is, was practically unharmed, save for the tears and holes in his strange apparel. Taking the hint,s he turned and went for the door, only to find another figure, much more human like in size, but still oddly dressed, suddenly in front of her. It barely registered that the figure was female before she suddenly found herself flying through the air, her eyes stinging from the bright flash she had witness just a moment before, pain tearing though her chest like she was just hit by an ogre or something.
Impact. She hit something, and her head was ringing with pain, even Ezikiel seems to have felt it. Forcing herself to her feet, she barely had enough strength to dodge the bright blast of energy that roared past where she was only a moment ago. However that would not save her from what happened next. An impossibly large hand siezed her up by her robe and swung... she thrashed, and her robe tore, freeing her from the behemoth's grip. Unfortunantly she was once again airborne, and wishing she had wings to stop what was going to happen next. She braced herself the best she could and slammed into some sort of metal box, Hard.
The box exploded in sparks and smoke on impact and she slumped against it, finally the pain was too much and the last thing she saw was the pair soon being joined by others as her vision went black.
To be continued....!

((The next part will detail her time in the zig... so stay tuned!)) -
Ugh... so beautiful.. I really need to buckle down and pay for a commission one of these days...

Well I'll offer up one of my old/new characters, if your don't mind... Ah good ol' Jin Yae... how many times have I remade this character in how many games? I've lost count..
Link to referance photos here: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...erancecard.jpg
Best I can do since I can't seem to take screenshots in char select or costume creator. Though I will note that the batty wing pattern should actually resemble spider webs.. but its close enough to pass for them anyways. Aaaand... to give you more than few fun photos to go on.. I'll pass along my notes for you to get an idea about what she's like.
Basic History:
Quote:Personality:Jin was pulled to this world during one of Portal Corps 'accidents.' Although considered a necromancer by our standards, in Drow Society she is, and prefers to be called, a Shadow Priestess.
Due to the hostlie relations between her people, and the humans on her world, she immedatly assumed she was in danger and was being attacked when she noticed the large number of oddly dressed, but still clearly human, onlookers surrounding her, and quickly worked to dispose of them. Unfortunantly, the fighting with the heroes that soon showed up during her slaughter of the scientists destroyed the portal that brought her here and left her stranded.
Since she was too dangerous to be left roaming about, and no one was sure how to reason with her for the time being, they detained her in the Zig. While there, she quickly learned english, while also hearing the whispers and tales of Arachnos, an organization almost mirroring her own society.
When Arachnos busted her out of her confinement, she then decided to work along with this strange alien parallel and bide her time and resources to eventually further her own ends.
NOTE: Her current outfit is not her original, it was something she acquired later on to replace the damaged robe.
Quote:Jin is adaptive and calculating, never letting setbacks hold her back for long and always looking for ways to push situations to her favor. That said, she has become enthralled with various forms of entertainment on this world and has started to enjoy life here. In fact, one may not even notice how calculating she is, considering how lively and warm she can can be most of the time... though this attitude in itself might be a ploy of hers to manipulate how others perceive her.
Part of her adaptive attitude has led her keep in mind her own limits and realize that even she must take a break now and again, usually making her end up in the strange place known as Pocket D.
However, the main change in her recent attitude, aside for the quickly rising tolerance of humans, is that she no longer wishes to go back to her world.. and seems to be planning to find a way to bring more of her kind here.. under her rule of course.
Like I said.. if you want to draw her in a pose its totally up to you... I'm not very good at describing what I see in my head anyways.. -
Yes.. Villain only and a patron power.. I'm talking about as a base power pool.
-
Yes, I know I could probably put this in Lady Jay's Thread.. but its grown to enourmous size, and I don't think many folks pay much attention to it anyways. But this is more of a discussion as to why we don't have these powers than a suggestion as to what the power set would entail, anyways. (Lord knows Its probably been stated once or twice in Lady jay's already.)
To begin, we got all sorts of powers for our heroes or villains to pick from.. but the vast majority seem rather.. UN-heroic.
How do I mean, you might ask? We only have a few damage based power sets that by all intents and purposes would not utterly kill or maim an otherwise human villain with even their most benign attacks. Fire Blast, for example, is extremely likely to catch the target on fire... and since when have you've seen a person wearing anything but flame gel come out of being on fire mostly unharmed? A Taser works so much better. (note, I'm letting controllers get away with this because they tend to make rings of fire /around/ thier targets... not set them on fire directly.)
Now in that example.. when would a hero willingly use that sort of attack on a mostly human subject, unless they had no choice? Pretty much never, actually. Most comic heroes with flame powers generally attack the environment around their target if the target is human... more reminiscent of how a flame controller would handle the situation. Villains get off the hook, since they can be evil and sadistic, and generally can be evil no matter what powers you give them.. well almost.
Yet it doesn't end there. We got Assault Rifles, Pistols, Swords, Maces, Claws, Radiation, and arrows being used with deadly force... on low level, mostly human, villains. Now.. how "heroic" is that?
We get these powers (and yes.. I know the pistols haven't been released yet hero side.) Which make sense for pulp heroes in some cases, but we get realitively few powers that you would see being used against human types in a normal comic book.
Which brings me to the title of this "rant." Water based powers (no, Ice doesn't count... its handled differently.)
Why don't we have them? They fit the niche of a hero that wouldn't want to permanently harm others, while still providing a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention, such powers could still be considered effective against armored non humans as we currently use high pressure water jets to cut metal in certain fabrication processes. And we can never forget what happens when you get electronics wet!
So it still manages to be a first rate power and still be "heroic" in its application, because setting fire to homeless people just isn't nice.

Well here's Cobalt Girl for ya... if you want to do some art of her. She's at your mercy.

She's an Inv/SS Tanker, and Founder of "The Express-O's" SG On Virtue.
And.. some information on her because I've not taken the time to give her a virtueverse page...
Quote:Sara Michael is a young mutant who's powers manifested at a very young age. However, instead of jumping right into the young hero business, she hid her talents until she was old enough to move away from her parents, and hopefully keep them safe.
Her abilities are such that she is supernaturally tough and can generated a protective force field around her body. By manipulating this skin tight field, she can achive great feats of super strength, and while manifesting this power her eyes are said to glow a cobalt blue color.
Unfortunantly, she lacks the ability to project the field beyond her person. Somehow she can use it to fly, exactly how its achived isn't fully understood.
It was at the insistance of another hero that she should incorperate that into her name, as the metal is used in quite a number of alloys, batteries, and fuel sources, not to mention it being used for a specific shade of blue. So she ran with it.. and so far.. its not a bad name at all. -
Actually.. try flying high above the ground and activating it.. it seems to work perfectly when you're up high... but the severity increases with proximity of a surface to stand on... quite bizzar really.

*Hyperstream struggled to her feet as the thugs were sent flying through the portal.. sensing the psychic message, she forced a smile* "Ah... help, has arrived."
*she outstreached her good arm at the thugs.. best to try and look threatening to the current foes at hand. Her arm thrummed as the weapons system charged up to prepare to fire, heat emmenating from the, now open, port in her palm. -
".. I am Hyperstream.. I came to investigate the energy build up I detected not to long ago.." * she pauses to slowly wipe the fluid from her face*
When I located the source, what appeared to be law enforcement had already found it.. though.. they were unusually reluctant to allow me to examine the device... *she frowns.. sagging a bit before striaghtening up.. in her kneeling position.*
When it.. activated.. I rushed to see what had happened.. and that is when they opened fire on me... ... on that note... it appears I require some assistance... *she winces* ... possibly in the form of a pair of... pliers..? The piece of lead embedded in my arm is making it difficult for my body to seal the hole..." -
*Hyperstream looks up, and her eyes narrow...* "I hate to inform you.. but I do not think they aren't OUR PPD either." *more fluid seems to drip from her mouth.. she was apparently more badly damaged than she thought.*
"I doubt very much that I'm in fighting condition... I was not prepared for the attack..." *he may note that she is currently clutching her arm.. and, for lack of a better term, bleeding. But otherwise remains motionless.* -
*Hyperstream somehow manages to swerve and impacts the sewer wall and rolls to the side.. her flight system cutting out halfway through the roll.. sending her sliding across the cement with a none too pleasent metallic screech.*
"Ow.." she grumbles as she finnally stops just short of the water. She then forces herself up to a kneeling position... looking down at the damage as she was hurtling backwards through the portal.. thus her front side took the brunt of the gunfire ". . . slag, thats.. going to take forever to repair... and since when do the PPD carry Uzies? ... since when do they freaking fire at registered heroes..?" *she grumbles.. momentarily forgetting the other person that was there.* "... Hyperstream to command base, insurgents near device, send reinforcements, respond." * her brow furrows as she realizes that, despite the open portal.. her base isn't receiving a signal.*
*her facemask retracts and she spits out some accumulated blue mech fluid onto the ground* "... prime.. just slagging, /prime./" -
*Surprised, Hyperstream shielded her face from the hail of bullets, and accelerated toward the only seemingly safe place there... that being the portal. She grunted as the hail of led rattled her armor, and begun to damage her internal systems... hopefully the guy on the other side has enough sense to duck!*
-
*Alerted by the sudden "detonation" of the device, Hyperstream used the confusion to quickly shove past the supposed "PPD operatives." She activated her flight system and rocketed forth, positioning herself before what now appears to be the portal, her weapons primed and humming... as she stares in some manner of disbelief at Britanic...*
"Well... thats just.. /prime/." *she utters... secretly relived that it wasn't a full on exsplosion.. tossing a glance at the others there.*
