((This is an IC storyline that details the events prior to Jin's first internment at the Zig. Feel free to comment on it and ask questions. Jin Yae is a Dark Elf (think Drow) Necromancer on Virtue server and eventually I plan on putting a Virtuverse page up for her.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jin Watched from the podium as the latest worshiper of the day prayed to the obsidian statue of the Goddess. Ezikiel's thoughts whispering in her mind as it expressed its distaste for the individual. Something always irritated the ghostly serpent when it watched the steady stream of followers. Jin suspects that its the lack of honesty that irritates it the most, as it has been known to smell a lie from time to time.

The followers eventually stood and walked away, and Jin signaled for the guards to close the door behind him. The Temple of Spiders needs no more visitors for the rest of the day, and she had work to do.

Work usually involved either taking inventory of the day's coffers, or research at the behest of the ruling Nobles. This time Ezikiel was bidding her to do the research instead, letting the lesser priestesses tally the day's earnings. She never fully understood the serpent's motives, all she knew is that it had always been with her since she could remember, and that nobody else could see it like she could. Rarely, other have been able to gain a glimpse of its form, ever twisting around her, usually on the brink of death, just before they passed on. However, it most certainly that no other living being could hear its voice, its keening cry when she is in battle, or its near constant whispering of the many secrets it seemed to know when not.

That said, its always seems to have her best interests in mind, and it had long since been her secret tutor in arts of magic, shadow and death, and possibly the main reason she'd ascended to the rank of High Priestess so quickly.

However today.. as she walked down the light-less hallway, something felt Wrong and even Ezikiel's hackles had begun to rise. Then, with out warning, the whole world felt as if it was suddenly shifted sideways and the area around her blurred into nothingness.. then just as suddenly.. she was surrounded by light!

As Jin's eyes recovered from the sudden exposure, she was already very aware that she was surrounded, Ezikiel's angry snapping and cries of danger made certain of that. Then she saw them.. humans, mages no doubt... she'd been abducted by some foul, surface crawling, humans.

"... You just made a mistake, human scum!" she cried Knowing all to well that they probably didn't understand a word she said... still it felt good to say it. And even better to see the look of shock and surprise when the shadowy bolt flew from her hand and impacted the nearest one square in the chest, causing the man to crumple to the ground and lay still.

Pandemonium erupted around her as the humans fled toward the exit more bolts of shadow and the few that didn't escape the room lay motionless on the floor. To give chase would be foolish, they surely would run to where more capable warriors could defend them, so she would have to plan her escape instead. Instead, she set about calling forth the walking dead, using the few corpses already in the room to host the energies of the netherworld with minimal preparation.

Satisfied with her work, she began to move out.. but just as she touched the door, Ezikiel turned and hissed at the far wall... which soon burst apart as a large... almost impossibly large, Human stepped through, dressed in garishly bright colors and shouting something at the top of his lungs. <... Itsss a challenge, Mistressss.> the serpent whispered... its hunger for a meaningful battle radiating into her. "Well then... Let battle be joined!" she cried commanding her servants to swarm the massive man.

At first it looked like he didn't stand a chance, as he was quickly covered by the bodies of the freshly dead, biting and clawing away at his bulk. Her slowly forming smile, quickly fell away as the hulking man bellowed and threw on of the zombies clear over her head!

She cursed and flung another bolt at the beast, only to find the creature, whatever it is, was practically unharmed, save for the tears and holes in his strange apparel. Taking the hint,s he turned and went for the door, only to find another figure, much more human like in size, but still oddly dressed, suddenly in front of her. It barely registered that the figure was female before she suddenly found herself flying through the air, her eyes stinging from the bright flash she had witness just a moment before, pain tearing though her chest like she was just hit by an ogre or something.

Impact. She hit something, and her head was ringing with pain, even Ezikiel seems to have felt it. Forcing herself to her feet, she barely had enough strength to dodge the bright blast of energy that roared past where she was only a moment ago. However that would not save her from what happened next. An impossibly large hand siezed her up by her robe and swung... she thrashed, and her robe tore, freeing her from the behemoth's grip. Unfortunantly she was once again airborne, and wishing she had wings to stop what was going to happen next. She braced herself the best she could and slammed into some sort of metal box, Hard.

The box exploded in sparks and smoke on impact and she slumped against it, finally the pain was too much and the last thing she saw was the pair soon being joined by others as her vision went black.

To be continued....!
