It woul basically be a semi vanity item since motorbikes do not do so well on water or in environments like fire base Zulu. But I like the idea of having vehicles like a motorbike or a car for getting around city type areas, after all several superheroes from a variety of publishers have signature vehicles like the batmobile that batman made famous.

  4. I have my first 50 at last after quite a while,

    Iron Neko
    Blaster, Energy/Energy
  5. Energy/Energy is a lot of fun.

I breeze through most missions on +1/0.

Just remember to take flight and get hover and the world is your oyster...
  6. I can't see the point of farming. what good would it do me if I get run up to lvl 50 in three hours by someone else and knew nothing about my build or how to play it?

All AE farms do is produce lvl 50 nubtards who don't have the slightest clue about anything their character can do outside of what they have read in a guide or had a friend tell them. (unless they are making an exact carbon copy of a skill set they have on another character... and what is the point of that? ... they already have one.)

I would much rather take a month or two to level my character up the hard way by doing missions and end up having a build that suits my play style and the knowledge of what all my skills do and when to use them.

  8. I would like a f2p chat channel just to get them off help and keep help for answering questions.

The last thing you need when you are trying to explain something is 1001 randoms looking for farms or sewer runs.

  10. I do not see a problem with a player running from lvl 1-50 in a short space of time if that player is a guildie from another game and they are familiar with the basic roles of MMOs.

The idea that a player NEEDS a veteran badge to have a lvl 50 character is a bit elitist in my opinion and I judge players solely on their ability to play and not on how long that they have played. I have meet some utter utter noobs who have a year or more of experience in some MMOs and still don't know how to work as part of a team and probably never will, and I have also met some really cool new players who instinctively work well in a team and learn their role and do it well.

Experience is how well you have learned from your experiences and not just how many experiences you have had.

But back to the original topic, I use the AE as my own private danger room. And I can gain experience in dealing with certain kinds of foes I have a weakness against by repeatedly running a simulation populated by that foe type and learning how to cope with it. And I gain actual experience as a player while my character gains levels so that by the time I reach lvl 50 I will know my class inside out and actually be an asset to any group I join rather than be a noob who sat at the back of a group on a levelling farm to get to where they are and is as useful as flyscreens on a submarine when they hit lvl 50.
  11. I have noticed that the prisoners around brickstown are especially cowardly. I chased one around for several minutes once trying to catch him.
  12. I had an epic group last night, we ran every mission in the hollows then we went and killed the kraken as a grand finale.

It was more fun than a AE group could ever be. We had more variety in the missions rather than just your standard AE mission that seems to be get into a group of 8, auto SK to 50 then kill group after group of lieutenants and bosses then rinse and repeat on the same mission.
  13. I had a real problem with a cyberstalker in the game who would keep creating throw-away trial accounts just to keep hounding me in-game and avoid my global ignore list. It got to a point where I just walked away from CoH for over 6 months since I could not get any help from the GMs since I did not know how the report system worked at the time (I have since did a LOT of research and I know it inside out now).

I believe in full disclosure so I will relate the incident without names since I do not want to needlessly involve people of which this is now "ancient history" to and they would not want it brought up again.

I was a new player who had just bought CoH off the store with a friend of mine (who is still in game).
The incident happened when I rolled a villain to check it out as one does and I encountered a rather overly "helpful" player who offered to help me level up, We were bored so my friend and I decided to take this nice person up on their offer and after running a few missions extremely successfully over the next week and a half he invited us into his guild. He then gave my friend enhancements that would easily be worth several million and I took a few inspirations out of the vault since he did say "help yourself" and I took that to include me and I figured that a few inspirations would be a mere pittance compared to the riches he had just lavished on my friend. But apparently I took something I was not supposed to and he went off at me and called me a thief and went on about how he knew every guildmaster on the server and I would never find another guild ever again.

I basically explained to him that I must of misunderstood what he meant when he said "help yourself" and I returned everything I took and then everything else I had into the guild vaults and asked if that would be ok and he was not satisfied. I explained that I had nothing else to give and I was very sorry I took stuff from him without asking and I quit the guild.

But the harassment did not end, every time I logged on for the next few weeks he sent me a tell saying he was watching me and that I would never get into another guild. So I stopped logging into CoH and since I did not know how to make him stop I left the game and cancelled my subscription and vowed never to return.

I have returned now after 6 months only because the RL friend who also plays told me that the player concerned had been banned for other ToS breaches.

But now I a LOT more cautious of everyone I speak to and will not join their guilds quite so easily. And I am perfectly content to stay a solo guild-less player.

But I think that there is a real need for a link to a page with strategies for dealing with cyber-stalking to be on the home page of CoH as well as links to how to post reports to GMs to be more prominent to prevent a repeat of this to another player.

I do not want sympathy nor do I want or need a guild, I just want to play the game with a few people I know in real life. The point of me telling this is so that I can not be accused of being dishonest and to warn other players about the dangers of cyberstalking.
