Mayhem mission briefing.

My NPC villain never leaves the station with me. I exit and he doesn't come with. I re-enter and he's gone.

Same thing happened to me yesterday on a Mayhem mission. Useless stalker.
Virtue: multiple characters.
CoH/V: Woot! Maybe Fun is to be had once again.
Ack! RUN! Regen is glowing mean & green!
If it reduces you, it's a nerf.
If it buffs the mobs, it's challenge.
They are not the same.
Am I the only one who wishes we had a little more time on this? Then maybe I'd have time to actually explore, rather than rush everywhere.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Have you tried running them solo? There's usually more than enough time to see the whole map if you keep destroying things.
At least, that's been my Brute's experience. Squishie mileage may vary.
But yeah, you DO get a feel of urgency due to the constant ambushes. IMHO, that's not a bad thing - after all, you ARE wholly and utterly in enemy territory. I find the rush of adrenaline that brings gets me in character far better than any foray into Warburg.
Yes, the villain rarely makes it out the door with me. I, too, reentered, and heard their "I'm lost" message. It looked like it was coming from a level up somewhere. I went and looked in all the cell windows and didn't see them. I guess they could have been in a corner of the cell; I hated to knock all of them down...
Where is the villian in the Police station, I went to the cell level and started breaking down doors to find him. Is he in a marked cell?

If he's in there, there'll be a couple of guards out the front of one of the doors. No guards, no villain.

A friend of mine and I did a King's Row mayhem mission the other night. Our villian pet (spines stalker) disapperared when we exited the station. When we zoned into the bank map, she was already there, fighting guards. We zoned in right as she died.

I went thru late one night on my Emp/Elec defender for 3 stupid hours in this mission. I defeated all of the mobs holding the 21 magicians. Guess what? IT WAS DEFEAT ALL.
Missions clues tab is mostly useless. It often does not tell you what to do.

The Rescue 21 magicians is a Mayhem Mission now?
Sweet. I want to run a Mayhem Mission in Oranbega.

It's a good thing, I agree, but it's not really an atmosphere which lends itself to pulling up your Clues tab and scrolling through it to try to find a new clue (you might have other Clues or story arcs in there too).
There ought to be a better implementation of side missions than that.

The Hero disappeared in mine. He defeated me, I return, he's beating me up pretty bad, I exit the building, he follows (pretty sure of this, anyway... I wan't in a state to hang around and check retinal patterns or whatever), I make myself scarce, rest, return...
And can't find him. Look inside the bank. Nothing. Spend the rest of the time looking for him.
Did an Atlas mayhem the other day, got a Key off some skulls. The resulting clue was a wanted poster for someone named Icebeam, who I proceeded to bust out of the prison, though as reported above he totally vanished after I exited the jail. Was this supposed to be the side mission? The only waypoints on my minimap, before and after getting the key, were the mission exit, the jail, and the bank I was sent in to rob.

Probably. You only get one side mission in Atlas. Guess that was it for you that time.

Ive found this as well on my Corruptor. Did my first ever Mayhem Mission yesterday, Talos map. When I started out I looked at the timer and thought I was for sure going to fail, having no idea what I was doing and with only 15 mins to do it, plus possible side missions.
Well I just went around destroying a bunch of things, defeating PPDs and Longbow ambushes, and low and behold the time kept adding up and adding up. Found and defeated some Freak tanks and it turned out they had keys, so I went to check out the side missions. Earned more time, defeated more ambushes, and almost got killed when facing a PPD boss for the first time. Looked at my map, thought "hmm what's this jail marker?", so I went to check it out and found a villain npc in jail and busted her out earning more time.
Eventually after about 40mins or so of play on this one mission, which was a complete blast, I had completed 3 side missions plus the main mission, defeated the hero npc, earned 2 temp powers, and I had more time left than what I started with.
I guess I found that destroying boxes, cars, and the like as you're moving around the mission really helps. Those 30s and 1min bonuses can really add up. If you just attack things as you're passing by, most things will die in one-shot so it's not really costing you any time to do so. And if you have any AoEs things can really add up fast. I got great mileage out of just finding a good spot and using Frost Breath or Ice Storm to destroy half a dozen things at once, earning two or three time bonuses.

You've got to try it with 3 frenetic Fire Imps sometime. Crazy sweet. It's like they were born for Mayhem Missions.

No kidding. I decided to do my Mayhem Mission on test first because of all that I heard about them. I am glad I did now. I didn't really have time to just sit back and ENJOY the mission. With the "you only get a time bonus for each item one time" crap there is no room for wanton desctruction. I thought wanton destruction was the whole reason these missions were added.
Either add more time or let us rack up as many time bonuses as we want. Honestly.. untill something is done I am doing these missions on test first so I know where to find things first. The skulls seem to be in the same place each time I do the Atlas mission. That should be rather helpfull.

You're suppsed to escort the villain to the map exit? =0_o= Geez, and I thought the reward was having an NPC helping you out in the fights. <_<

No, you're supposed to take a kidnapping villain to the exit of the map, not the NPC villian.
The NPC villain is there to help you blow stuff up.

If you ever get a mystery Key or don't know exactly what the side mission is supposed to do, check your CLUES tab. A short briefing of the side mission should appear.
Also, if you get a key with no waypoint, you can always check your mini-map for the non-bank, non-police station waypoint (its usually near the spawn you defeated).
[/ QUOTE ]
well, there seems to be a bug with the mystery key then, because i've looked at the map after getting it, and there is no way point to it.
I'm fairly sure that the short amount of time and the limited bonus earnings was to prevent farming of some sort. It doesn't make much sense, though, now that they've removed the absurd exp bonuses.
So then can we get more time? I would just be happy with getting additional time no matter how many times I have gotten a bonus for destroying a specific item. As it is there isn't nearly enough time to simply enjoy the mission.
It is all.. run run run.. find spawn.. kill.. no.. kill faster! Oh! Destroy this! No bonus?! DAMN! RUN RUN RUN! Need time need time! Oh side mission.. no! Taking to long.. gasp gasp gasp.. go go go.. run run run. NO! I can't get a bonus off anything! I destroyed to much! Ahhh! Run to bank.. go go go..! Oh there is a swat van.. no no no.. to long to long! can't destroy it! run run run!
Needless to say I aim not enjoying Mayhem Missions. I was looking forward to them.. but I am dissapointed.
Though that wasn't my intent when I made the thread, I have to agree with Miss Kitty's general statement - there's too much rushing around in those missions. I don't mind timed missions, and I don't mind perpetuating timed missions as we do in mayhem missions. But I also don't like to rush, especially since Stone Armour doesn't yield itself to rushing.
I can understand the need for the time in Mayhem missions, but I don't understand the limit on items we destroy. Shouldn't this be about causing mayhem and destruction? If it should, then why are we avoiding certain items? Oh, I broke too many cars, better not touch any more. There's no point, plus I should be breaking carboard boxes. It's an undue strain on my memory to try to remember what there's any point to destroy, and it's an undue strain on a mission that's supposed to be about destruction per se, not destruction of specific stuff, like parking meters over police cars.
I'm not asking for the sky. I'm just asking for a little more time, maybe 20 minutes to start with. I'm asking for time bonuses for destroying things not limited by the "one time only" rule. I'm asking for the heist itself to provide a time bonus after defeating the hero.

Really? Huh... What setting are you running it on?
You know, everyone could make their Mayhem Missions soooo much easier if they just downloaded the free Prima Guide here since it has maps of the Mayhem Missions on pages like 220 something that include key and side-mission location.
Just keep in mind the amount of side-missions varies on your level so lower levels give you less side-missions.
Anyone know if certain Mayhem maps only spawn on certain Islands? Like so far Ive only seen Brickstown from Nerva and Founders Falls from Grandville... How do we get Peregrin Island and etc.

Was my mission bugged then or what? I'm almost positive that I was getting more than one bonus for destroying the same type of objects. ie destroy 1 car, time bonus! destroy a few more cars, time bonus! etc. etc. Im sure I got a time bonus for the same types of objects more than once. Also you get time bonuses for "resisting arrest" (ie defeating police), and Im sure I got that one multiple times as well.
