  1. Glee!

Added: Medical room, Enh and Insp storage. The Arcanos 2-player+some-alts-PvE-oriented-base is now complete. ^_^

Rent is going to be hurty, but I just paid it (power went off today) so hopefully we won't have to worry about that for a bit.
  2. There's no mystery here. The man's an Artist, so when he was done with the zone, he squiggled his name in the corner...
  3. The Tank Top and Tattooed Tank Top on Huge character types suffers a mismatch on the sides, under the arms. The armholes front and back don't match up. Looks uncomfortable.

    ZOMGzzoRs Jay is teh sexxy.

Is it worth posting here? Are the devs reading this thread?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Post a single criticism of policy and you will be AMAZED at how quickly the Devs respond.

I have seen six threads locked down in the last week, only one of which I was the OP for.

    Not a good sign...

    *grits teeth*

Dash, I realize you mean well, but if you get this thread locked by posting inflammatory rhetoric on it I'll be very cross.

We've been doing pretty well on this thread, and it's been sent to the Devs at least once by CuppaJo - who is NOT a Dev, but a Moderator. Let's not get the two confused.

Whatever difficulties you've been having on the boards, Dash, I doubt that the DEVS are behind it. You keep running afoul of the Moderators, and that's a separate issue that *probably* has more to do with the style of your writing than its content. But this is not relevant to the topic at hand. I really DON'T want this thread hijacked - PM me or start another thread if you wish to continue this particular discussion, bitte schon.

I'll be collating the entries again and starting a Mk. 3 thread soon - we need one now that the i7 features are in place. But it's a bit of work, so I hope folks will be patient with me. Unlike some, I don't spend my workdays at a computer desk - I have to work on this stuff after hours or early in the morn.

  5. I think they may have recently squared the Arcane Telepad footprint.

I put in my fourth Telepad after the last patch, and unlike all the others I can rotate it freely next to its neighbor. The proportions look off compared to its neighbor as well.

Will someone who has "old" (pre-patch) telepads and space for new ones check me? It hasn't affected my previously-crafted ones - it's just the newly-placed one that looks... different.
  6. ...Yeah, there is. But why would you want one?

I mean, er... *cough* Look! More Pictures!

    *runs away*
  7. 2 Telepads and 4 Beacons(2 for each pad).

    Total.
  8. Don't get me wrong. It'd be nice if there WAS.

However, currently the T-rooms run 2x2, 3x3, 3x4, 4x4. With the first two sizes holding the same number of telepads... grrr.

    I think there's a 2x3 Power room.
  9. That's the 2x2. there is no 2x3 Teleporter room.
  10. After much foot-dragging, here's the current iteration of the Arcanos of Angmar Base.

I'll post more screenies in that album as I think to, so check back in a week or so.

P.S.: It should be noted that my name isn't really Gertrude.
  11. Nooooooo! The yellow face, it burns us! /gollum
  12. Have you tried running them solo? There's usually more than enough time to see the whole map if you keep destroying things.

At least, that's been my Brute's experience. Squishie mileage may vary.

But yeah, you DO get a feel of urgency due to the constant ambushes. IMHO, that's not a bad thing - after all, you ARE wholly and utterly in enemy territory. I find the rush of adrenaline that brings gets me in character far better than any foray into Warburg.
  13. Each Telepad only accepts two Beacons - the third (the Hollows, in this case) is unattached.

Solution: Build and place a second Telepad. the smallest room set holds two, albeit with some difficulty.
  14. <ul type="square"> [*]open Wordpad. [*]write appallingly bad fanfic about your character(s)[*]while re-reading for the third time, suddenly come to your senses[*]claw your eyes out in humiliation and horror [*]hide the document in a file marked /abandoned building/basement/beware_of_the_leopard/[*]take solemn vow to never, ever write fanfic again[*]hum tunelessly for twenty minutes[*]repeat.[/list]
  15. Also: side mission waypoints don't clear off your map after they've finished (i.e. the time bonus is awarded.)

This makes a five-side-quest mission map unbearably cluttered after a while. Figuring out which one is the fifth mission waypoint ain't fun.
  16. In the Mayhems I've done, we always busted out the NPC villain, lost them when we transitted outside of the jail, and then would HEAR them when we ducked into the next side mission, saying something clever that translated to "NPC villain is no longer following you." After that we never saw them again.

From this I deduce that they're SUPPOSED to follow you around the zone, but (at least for us) take too long to transit the door - they don't finish zoning out until you've gone through another mission door, whereopon they automatically dump you.

    Kind of a pain.
  17. Whoa there - plenty of other threads to have this discussion on. let's keep this one on track and positive, if that isn't too much to ask.

Pictures, pictures! - Post 'em if you got 'em!

(will have various skylight and sewer grate pics up by end of day, if I can find hosting for 'em... blargh)
  18. Agreed. There's a big difference between saying, "Here's a list of helpful information for naturals", and "Natural origin means you can't play X, Y and Z." Kudos to Enantiodromos for managing the former.

Martian Manhunter is an excellent example of an alien Natural. His powers are standard for his kind, but they don't drive him to be a superhero. In the comics and the animated series, he's often the guy figuring stuff out or pointing out the moral course - which is another big task of Natural superheroes: The Control.

In the language of science, the Control is the unmodified base state; An individual or group used as a standard of comparison. In any supergroup, you have the person who remembers what it's like to be unpowered; to be helpless in the face of adversity; to have others speak and act for you. The Control, in many ways, is the heart of the Supergroup. He's there to keep everyone else sane. Being the "average joe" and yet still, somehow, equal with people who fly, sweat fire and throw big rigs around is a tricky business, and it often requires not only intellect but an uncanny grasp of how people work emotionally. When blowing up the enemy planet seems like the simplest solution, the Control is there to point out that not everyone on that planet's an enemy.

This isn't necessarily something EVERY Natural does; and it certainly isn't limited to Natural origins, but it's yet another theme for Natural characters to explore.

you know, that's a good point.
If there was a limit on how quickly someone could raid the storage bins, that prevent some problems. If you see 10 enhancements disappear to a character of the wrong origin, you can ask them what's up, or explain how it's better that they beg for infamy from the group instead of selling the enhancements. If you see 100 disappeared yesterday, it's a bit too late for anything like that.

of course, you could still get someone inviting 10 different friends into the group, promoting them, and having them run off with stuff in small batches. but again, there's no way to prevent griefers, we just need to make things more difficult for them to minimize the amount of people you have to chase after later.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This was actually discussed with my VG in a joking manner. However, in that conversation, if our VG members could infiltrate other VG's and bring back items they would get promotions, etc.

So, I am actually pointing out something that others are drooling about doing and won't post about it.

    BUG BADGE Please Dev's

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe Im just not understanding the exploit here, but are normal enhancements really that difficult to come by? What is the big gain here? You're basically revealing to the entire community that you're a big jerk by doing something like this, and for very little gain.

To me it's kind of like going to all your neighbours houses and stealing all their apples. I mean hey, free apples. But now all your neighbours are pissed off at you, and did you really gain that much? I mean you could have just gone to the store and bought some apples.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Personal gain was never the real point of ninjalooting - it was always about hacking off other people and the resultant bragging rights. It was that way in DiabloII, it was that way in WoW, and it'll be that way here, even though the "lewts" in question are ridiculously easy to replace and worth, in the long run, absolutely nothing.

I suspect the average SG will see almost none of this - it'll mostly be a problem between feuding gangs of PvP'ers, and very little else. And, because there's no goldfarming industry here to support ninjalooting commercially, eventually the novelty will wear off and we won't see it anymore.

I have a follow up question. if you sell a personal item, I understand you don't get back the salvage for building it. Do you get back the prestige for placing it?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Just like any other object.

The only way to "lose" prestige is through Rent and Raid fees. That's it.
  23. King John was not a good man —
    He had his little ways.
And sometimes no one spoke to him
For days and days and days.
And men who came across him,
    When walking in the town,
    Gave him a supercilious stare,
Or passed with noses in the air —
And bad King John stood dumbly there,
    Blushing beneath his crown.

King John was not a good man,
And no good friends had he.
He stayed in every afternoon ...
But no one came to tea.
    And, round about December,
    The cards upon his shelf
Which wished him lots of Christmas cheer,
And fortune in the coming year,
Were never from his near and dear,
    But only from himself.

King John was not a good man,
Yet had his hopes and fears.
They’d given him no present now
For years and years and years.
    But every year at Christmas,
    While minstrels stood about,
    Collecting tribute from the young
For all the songs they might have sung,
He stole away upstairs and hung
    A hopeful stocking out.

King John was not a good man,
    He lived his life aloof;
Alone he thought a message out
    While climbing up the roof.
He wrote it down and propped it
    Against the chimney stack:
“TO ALL AND SUNDRY - NEAR AND FAR -
    F. CHRISTMAS IN PARTICULAR.”

And signed it not “Johannes R.”
    But very humbly, “JACK.”
    “I want some crackers,
    And I want some candy;
I think a box of chocolates
    Would come in handy;
    I don’t mind oranges,
    I do like nuts!
    And I SHOULD like a pocket-knife
    That really cuts.
And, oh! Father Christmas, if you love me at all,
Bring me a big, red india-rubber ball!”

    - Appx. 2/3 of "King John's Christmas", by A. A. Milne

Damn you all for making me remember that... Now I HAVE to make a character named Bad King John...
  24. Crafted items can be placed within the base using the "Place Personal Item" menu in the same button-window as the "Edit Base" menu. Be aware that there will be a prestige cost to place each item, so it's important to proceed with caution.

Components: You can hold a LOT more processed components than you can raw salvage. up to 99 of each type, i think. Storage items are coming in issue 7 and will help get some things out of your inventory, but for the most part you're just gonna have a lot of salvage. Also, the new "empowerment stations" coming in i7 will give you a little something to do with excess components.

    I'm having the same issue.
my SG colors are white and dark blue. the banners and other logo items show the logo in white on a gray, vaguely textured background. I'm not seeing any of the colors, stripes, styles, etc. seen in the other screenies on this thread. I tried placing the entire gamut of Arcane/Tech banners - they're all identical white-on-grey. That's GOT to be wrong....

Graphics settings are on Medium and High, where possible. My machine isn't the best.
