To this day, I believe that Ghost Widow has beent he most involved signature character in the CoX community because of her appearances. When was the last time Positron ever danced with you, huh?

Recently on Champion (June 2006) a "Champion's Ball" was held. It was a formal affair, with attendees strongly encouraged to create appropriate attire at Icon. Ghost Widow also showed up for this event, and passed out temporary titles there as well.

Did you know.....
- When CoH first came out, the Rikti in Founder's Falls actually talked. Not thought-speak talk, as they're now known for, but actual normal speech. One phrase I remember in particular is "This location is secure". I believe this was fixed when Issue 1 came out, because the Rikti there stopped talking around that time.
- Infernal's (The trainer) name at launch was "Infernal Demons", but was quickly changed to Infernal, as we know him today.
- Elite Bosses were a relatively late addition to CoH, with the first Elite Bosses being Frostfire and Atta in the Hollows. For a while, the only EBs after that were Heracles in Striga and the Super Zenith Mech in the Citadel TF (Although I'm not sure when that was added). It wasn't until CoV came out that they became widespread, especially with the change that allowed Arch-Villains to be downgraded to Elite Bosses under the right conditions.

Did you know that GM's randomly appear in obscure locations throughtout the CoX world as drones, npc, level 1 toons as they try to fix our problems.

generally these are to fix a mission bug or somthing. Usually they appear if you wait long enough after an "oh NOEZ! my defeat all mission has a guy who's completly stuck in the mission geometry!" petition.
did you know that there is a troll named grendel that USED to lead the trolls before he to thrashed by atta?

I think the trouble stems from the fact that he uses the same model as Infernal the Praetorian and vis versa. All of the Praetorian minions have their own faction label based on who they work for, but for some reason they all still spawn as "Praetorians" or "Demons" or whatnot. So basically the labeling gets screwed up. I remember a few patches where he went back and forth from Infernal to InfernalLeader and back.

Shield Tankers were dropped from development. It would have been the single-most costly powerset to produce.

When did this happen? I must have missed this announcement. Do you have a link to the post or the story about this?

It's either in part one or part two of the CuppaJo interview with SiRadio.

Part one
Part Two
They're still working on the transcripts for it......(was 3 hours long)....
Edit: 51:35 on part II

Oh, crap. I should have mentioned that. Catwhorg and Margat had their ingame wedding awhile back. All the FC and a fair number of other folks showed up for it, including a few devs. I can't find the thread in Player Events anymore, but I know Samoa and some others got pics. Most tuxedos I've ever seen ingame.
Also, caltrops make a good rice substitute.

Curses! I was gonna post that...
CuppaJo and pohsyb stopped by and hung out for a while, too.
It still amazes me that people didn't mob them and flood them with tells until after the wedding. Further proof that Triumph pwnz.
I have a few pics around, I'll see if I can dig them up...
EDIT: Here is a good one. I'm the fourth one in on the right, and pohsyb is the big guy in the purple pants a little farther down. I think CuppaJo showed up after this picture was taken, but I'm not sure.
Did you know that recently, there was a Brute (On Victory or Freedom i thinks) that crashed while in Bloody Bay and was "Switched" to Hero Statis. He grouped with Heroes, got badges, and did TFs. Eventually, a GM took control of Ghost Widow and ordered the Brute to go to Atlas Park to be dealt with, lol.
I know there are pics, but they aren't mine, and idk where the thread is, lol.
This story is also detailed in part two of the CuppaJo interview. Apparently, the Brute got stuck so bad the /stuck command couldn't help him, he was outside the world geometry. He /petitioned, and a GM accidentally (?) dropped him in Atlas Park.
When the Devs realized he was there, they naturally decided to drop him back in the Rogue Isles, but after checking with Cuppajo(!) decided to make an impromptu roleplaying event by sending Ghost Widow after him.
The Brute role played, the Heroes were awed, and all was well

There, fixed it for ya.
Bounces was the Brute's name. I got to get some screenshots with him, and he was even teamed with my wife and myself when Ghost Widow called him away to be sent back to the Rogue Isles.
Did You Know...
That in Outbreak, you didnt have to go to that kiosk after that man gave you the "Defeat 4 Contaminated" mission, which would then give you a DMG Training Enhancement.
That there would be 3 Krakens at once in Perez Park
The Giant Monsters had a lvl, so lvl50's can kill a lvl20 Monster with ease
In the Shadow Shard, there was originally just a portal to the Cascades near the PI entrance, which was underground. Now there is a portal to every Shadow Shard zone, including another Cascade portal.
The Zookeeper badge was originally 10K kills of Rikti monkeys. Now it is just 1000
Champion was the first server to kill Hamidon every single night continuasly
At a Hamidon raid, if you killed a Hami Bubble (the things that spawn after killing hamidon) you would get an HO. So sometimes you can leave the Hive and have 10 HO's
In the earlier days of Outbreak (near launch) you could get mulitple levels from killing conaminated. Now if you kill them, you dont get xp
The Ghost Ship that runs through Talos and IP was originally just floating around in Talos, but when they transfered the Striga Isle entrance to be in IP also, that is when the Ghost ship appeared over there.
I was in the first team to complete the first respec trial on Champion
Controllers didnt have a limit to pets. It was common to see fire trollers have 12 imps around them, along with grav/ill/ice/earth trollers having 4 of there pets.
HO's use to be worth alot more than they do now
Boomtown was first a zone that only allowed lvl 15's, then was scaled down to 13, then down to its final state of 10.
Positron TF only allowed i think lvl14-17's
There was no portal to RCS from Peregrine Island. There was so many complaints from the lvl44+ respec trial, traveling from RCS to PI that they added it in i think between I5-I6
CoH won Spike TV's Gaming Award show as Best MMO
Eden was called Woodvale
Faultline was called Overbrook
Founders Fall had a bug where you could enter, but you couldnt leave.
Controllers pets would have a time limit so you would have to keep spawning them
There was only 3 body types you could choose from: Female, Male, Huge. No scaling or anything until I4
Ill post more later...

Not true. right from the get-go, you could still adjust your hero's height and general physique with the appropriate sliders. It's only the fine tuning of individual areas that was introduced later.
Positron: "There are no bugs [in City of Heroes], just varying degrees of features."
I seem to recall that, when I first started playing, if you were slept by an enemy, all of your powers would instantly recharge.
Does anyone else remember this?

And to combine these two great tastes that taste great together:
There was a roughly 99% chance that at least one of the first three missions of the Positron TF would be in Boomtown, so it was possible to start a TF and then find out that some or even none of the heroes in the TF would be allowed into the mission zone.

I recall when COH first debuted there used to be hordes of micro-heroes, people who had scaled themselves as tiny as possible...
Since the animation of running went faster when small, somehow a rumour got started that you actually went faster as a tiny person.
This next bug is kinda a hot topic cause not everybody believe it was a "bug". But shortyl after the Council overthrew the Column, almost EVERY mentioning of the Column was replaced by Council. It was stated that this was not intended to happen, but sicne it was such a small bug, nobody took the time to fix it.

Swan's a Trainer, they don't have that option in their windows, only the TF assigners do among signature heroes.

Thats happened to quite a few people now, same with heros/villains spawning into the opposite factions mission.
Funny to see screenshots of a hero zone into his mission and theres a mastermind there.

I remember having a bug once that all my missions spawned greens for a few levels. Pretty sure it wasn't just coz i outleveled the contact; suffering that situation now with missions spawning blues.
One thing I like about now: eventhough I'm struggling more with even-leveled mobs, the battles are more exciting and not so tedious. I really enjoy my missions.
EDIT: Did you know that before, not only did stone tanker armors not stack, they caused you to look like a huge terd? Originally Rock armor covered the whole body, made "huge" toons look skinny, and didn't look half as cool as it does now. Most people would only take rock armor until granite due to no stacking, and would go most of the game looking like a skinny Mr Hankey.
