Questions with Fallen from grace

Ok I realize its not ingame (yet). But there are many threads about it, and I am just curious as to what I may not have read. Questions may not be answerable at the moment. They may be answerable based off other situations. Or my questions may give the devs something to think about. Anyways here are my questions.

Lets start with Being in an SG:

1. I go from villain to hero. I am guessing that would mean I am dropped from my VG?

2. That means my prestige is gone? (since I am not in a vg/sg anymore not really a q but leads to others.

3. I am the VG salavge maker/dump. I leave VG (temporarily of course.) I come back the items I have made already still have? gone?

4. The items placed in the base gone? or still there?

5. The prestige I earned while in the VG. Does the VG lose that prestige if I leave? Putting them n negative numbers?

ok that is the SG stuff. Now reasons to switch sides. outside of story concept.

BADGES! for those of us that just want them.

I swtich to hero side. Do I lose all my villain badges? Keep just the ones that are on both sides? (I want to farm Perez to get the skull helion kill badges).

Exploration badges, and most importantly, the accolades. Can I get them then go back to evil and still have the accolades?

If In sg mode get the beacons, then switch sides do I still have the beacons to put in the opposite sides base? (I am guessing no, but am thinking this may be something that slips by.)

There are some other questions but I dont' recall them all at the moment. But mainly they dealt with sg/prestige and badges.

I am guessing that my Main who is a leader in Mechanations will not beable to change sides to get all the other stuff. But I do have an alt that I would like to take over so he can pound on the Trolls and be the new leader. Since they have a lack of trolls on RI.

Oh remembered another Question.

If I cross over, where would I go to get contacts if I can get them?

And is there a level you have to be. Can I be level 1 switch sides. or Will I have to wait til level 30 or something like that?

Ok thats all for my q's now. Any answers to any of these outside of some of the more obvious (like losing prestige).

The answer to all your questions is.... "We don't know, we'll have to see." Only thing I could possibly answer is #2 -
Just like leaving a SG, the prestige earned stays with the group, unless it drops under 15 members in which case they lose the "bonus."

That and I doubt badges would disappear.

I am actually hoping that they will. It'd prevent heroes and villains from changing sides willy-nilly for badges, and it'd also prevent a single toon from having badges from both Recluse and Statesman, which seems silly to me.

If a hero becomes a villain, I'd imagine that he'd throw away all the badges awarded by the Care Bears and work on villainous marks of esteem. By the same token if a villain becomes a hero, I imagine badges awarded by Recluse would be a source of shame, and he'd dump them while attempting to earn renown with the Good Guys.

In the Cold War, if a soldier/spy were to defect from the USSR to the United States, I doubt he'd still wear his Soviet commendations proudly on his new uniform!

Given that some of the really hero-only badges (the Hero TFs for instance) have villainous version names coded for them in certain files, I suspect that they will transfer over as well.

and a lot of the kill badges exist in both games...

I think most of the Sg questions can be answred by what would happen if you left the SG.

As far as falling from grace, yeah I don't think you could be part of an enemy sg, so you'd get dumped.

badges? no clue.

But I don't think changing will be willy nilly, it's said to involve a trial or story arc that's rather hard.

You WILL most likely lose all influence/infamy, but as for salvage and such? no clue.

well if the requirement of the badge is the same, why wouldn't it be coded that way, still yet losing your badges when you cross over

The more I think about it, the more this makes sense. If you've taken out 100 troll bosses, then that value doesn't change. So even if you lose the Hero Regenerator, you'd gain the Villain Regenerator when switching over.

So I suppose I could see some badges crossing over. Namely, those that have villain versions. But Burkholder's Bane, Statesman's Pal, Freedom Phalanx Reserve...some badges just aren't right on a villain's lapel (and vice-versa).

Well, that depends on your point of view.

"Look at this badge that says I'm Statesman's Pal! That trusting fool!"

I dunno. Whatever the devs want to do. I think the ones that have villainous versions have a good chance of being transfered, and other than that I don't know enough to guess.

A SPY! Get him!

...

I think I'd just as well get rid of it then

Main Villain: Elenor Seahawk (Mastermind lvl 44; Necromancy/Poison)

I think perhaps some kill badges (* and maybe achievements like healing, debt, mentoring etc.) that exist on both sides will remain, but other badges, accolades in particular would have to be dumped otherwise you will end up with people doubling up on accolades. I know the villians don't have accolades yet but they will eventually.

*edit

Spines/ D A lvl 50 Scrap, stone/wm lvl 50 tank, Kat/reg lvl 50 Scrap
Grav/Kin lvl 50 Cont, Fire/Enegry lvl 50 Blast

plant/thorns lvl 50 dom, ice/fire lvl 40 dom, grav/nrg lvl 41 dom

We are still working on the system (there are a lot of corner cases), but in general:

* If you think that "doing X" while going rogue will be abusable in ANY way, you can bank on X not happening.
* If you think that "Y happening" would seriously break something, you can bank on Y not happening.
* Badges are already coded with two titles, Hero and Villain. The side you are on determines the title you get with said badge. Just because your hero was "Statesman's Pal" does not mean your villain will be. He'd more likely be "Statesman's Betrayer". Some badges have the same title across both hero and villain, some do not.

Positron can you at least tell us what the level requirement for the change over will be. That way we can at least get some toons up to that level to test this as soon as it goes to test server. Also will there be anything we will loose such as powers, enhancements(specifically HOs) or currency of either game?

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller

Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind

Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!

So, we obviously keep our badges when we turn good or go rogue. Here's the big question, what about accolades? It would be kind of abusable to have both hero and villain accolades (assuming villain accolades are roughly equivalent to the hero versions) so it's safe to assume they'll be taken away somehow. Do you just flag accolades X, Y, and Z as for one side only, and remove them as part of the trial?

Arc #48845 - Operation: Dirty Snowball

They're still working on the system, and it's not mentioned in the I7 preview, so it looks like you'll have PLENTY of time to get a character to the appropriate level before you can even dream of testing it.

How will the Ancillary / Patron pools work for characters that have already switched?

Does a Defender who switches over get access to the villain pools? And if a Stalker switches to a hero before level 41, what are his pool options? (It wouldn't make much sense for him to get patron powers from an Arachnos villain at that point...)

Where two Accolades have the "same" power, Hero or Villain...

You can have both Accolades.

You can NOT have both Accolade powers, you lose the older one when you get the newer one.

Like I said... if you think its abusable... it's not going to happen.

One quick and simple question: Fallen-from-grace (or restored-to-grace). Issue #7, or not? I'm less concerned with the gritty mechanics of it and more with when I'll be able to move characters back and forth in any shape.

I'd be shocked if it was in Issue #7. I'm almost positive it's not.

So does this basically mean that yes, heroes and villains will be able to change sides?

My Dominator isn't looking forward to being even less wanted on teams due to the sudden availability of Controllers at whatever level range. I love Controllers, but please, the Dominator's role so far would be completely replaced by a controller, and then some.

How do you think the Corruptors will feel when an honest-to-goodness healzorz goes bad?

I think if switching sides ends up causing too many problems they may ditch the idea, but it's firmly on the drawing board, and a lot of players want it.

Fall-from-grace/restored-to-grace is a BIG feature, and it would have been a big part of the Features Preview that was released yesterday. (had it been planned to be released with I7)

I'm hoping we can keep any badges we've already earned, since they're part of the history of the character. I'd even go further and say I hope we keep the original badge we earned. Just because a character falls or is redeemed, it doesn't change the heroic or villainous acts they did in the past. I don't think switching from hero to villain or vice versa should be a frequent occurance, though.
