Base Building/Base Raiding/Prestige Quick-FAQ
Problem is, at this point in the game, people have to deal with "losing" all their prestige if they merge groups. Also leadership issues.
One thing I did, as I6 approached, I absorbed/merged/poached members from a half dozen smaller, near dead groups, in anticipation of the prestige "problem."

Well if you're on guardian or anyone reading the FAQ has a similar issue with wanting to merge small SVG's please read My recruiting post
I have toiled with the base building to get something decent working, and looking preety neat to boot, and this thread has helped. So in thanks I extend the invite to my svg.

I just think that small bases won't be good for the game IMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really, the only thing that can be said is this: most people are unlikely to change their social arrangements just to take advantage of a game feature. People who like big guilds are already in one and don't really need further encouragement, people who don't like big guilds are never likely to join one regardless of the reward for doing so.
Making more things that can be done with smaller bases just means that the system will better accomodate how people are actually playing. A base on the smallest plot is reachable for even a small SG, but there's not a lot you can do in it that justifies keeping the lights turned on right now. Unless you've drunk the PvP koolaid, there isn't even much benefit to having a full SG in terms of base building right now.
@Mindshadow
hi,
I cannot find any good detailed documentation on Base building. Does anyone have anything more than what's posted here? Some questions I cannot find any answers for, and PM for cuppajo are no longer being accepted.
- How to build an inspiration dispenser
- how to build infirmary heal enhancers
- how to place item on desks (very hit or miss, there must be instructions?)
- how to move rooms - (this seems to work when it "feels" like it?)
- how to store salvage/enhancements/inspirations in base?
- what is the prestige awarded for varios mobs? Just a chart please
I am beguiled why this stuff isn't in the manual? Do they think it some sort of cruel joke to let the player's just figure this stuff out on their own? Ughhh..

This is the AutoDoc/"tree of Wonders". You unlock this by earning the First tier SG healing badge. Then, you have to build it with salvage (AutoDoc at a tech table, the tree at an arcane)

Robo-Surgery and Combat Log SG badges(not sure about arcane equivilent names). Unlockable with Second and Third tier SG badges. Again, build at work tables.

My best advice is patience, and trying to zoom in, and use a top down view.

All rooms have to be connected to each other, therefore the base editor isn't perfect
[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't available yet. Coming in I7 (found in here). If you're talking about the "vault" rooms available, those are for the Items of Power (not yet live), though it's possible the new storage could go in there.

They aren't going to release this. just know that Prestige is better in the pvp zones.
Cuppa's not accepting PMs because she's on vacation (found through devdigest)

Does the Rez Ring work only in Base Raids, or is it designed to give you your own personal hospital during your PvE adventures?
[/ QUOTE ]
The Rez Ring (actual name is Resurrection Circle/Resuscitation Device) works all the time as long as it's got power and control. When you die, in addition to "go to hospital" you see "go to base", and the latter option takes you to your base hospital.
Yes, it works in PvE too. If you die in a mission or zone, you can rez in your base and when you zone out often you'll be right next to where you died, or the mission door. Of course, sometimes it drops you half-way across the zone, but what can you do?
The obvious HUGE benefit of the above is when you're in one of the hazard zones that still doesn't have a hospital.
[/ QUOTE ]
The resuscitation device is amazing, in my opinion and here's why. The other day i was in the Hive going to one of Justice's Hami raids. Suddenly a giant group of swarms decide to attack me, and being a teleporter i sit there waiting for my death since i happened to land next to a bunch of monsters. I saw that little button thast said go to base (I'm very happy i put that rez machine in)., so i click it. I come back to life, zone back inot the hive closer to the staging rock with no aggro. I was very very happy.
With my luck, the base teleporter would have set the spawn point at dead center of the Hamigoo.

Alright BIG time base building noob question... I have started building my base, I have enough control and energy to work our salvage table, BUT, it keeps telling me I need to connect my power sources to another object (the control and energy). So, my question is what do I need to get this thing up and running? I have a pretty small guild (just some friends and I) so this has taken sometime to do (lol). Is there some way to connect those two things to my salvage table? Any help and I would be most greatful, thanks.....

That's odd.
There shouldn't be anything to connect in the power room; the basic generator would be sufficient. Are you sure you bought the basic generator and not the circuit breakers?
If you've got the simplest base setup (control room, power room, work room) with just the basic items (basic generator, mainframe, basic salvage table) it should just automagically work.

Yeah, I'd have to guess you accidentally bought the Circuit Breaker instead of the Basic Generator. the Breaker costs like 50k or something, but the Gennie costs 225k, so if you buy one you definately know you bought it, lol. Anyway, to use salvage you need an Energy Terminal room with a Basic Generator, a Control Room with a Mainframe and a Workshop with a Worktable. If you have those 3 rooms and 3 items, then you should be good to go.
I know the feeling of how much all this costs, it took me and my 2 friends quite awhile to get enough prestige for it all. Now we're working on a Med Center, should have a rez ring in a couple of weeks (I hope).
By the way, anyone want to join our SG, The Church of Sorrow, just let us know : Semiazas, Skullitron, Lady Corruptor, Lamont Cranston. or Melchom
Alright I have these rooms, with these items in it....
Workshop: Basic Forge
Control Room : Augury Table ; -15 energy +12 control
Energy Terminal : Crystal Focus ; +150 energy
now when I click on those items, its says "To operate, this objectit must be attached to another object."
When I click on the worktable it says that it needs energy or control to operate....
Its the only thing in my base that requires either of those two things.....
I can't recall off hand what an Augry Table or Crystal Focus is exactly but it you're getting the message that it needs to be hooked up to something else, then they are not the right items. I can't remember what the basic generator is called in the mode you're using (the non-tech mode), I think it's Archaic or something, but the generator costs 225k prestige. That's the one you need for power. Same with the name for the Mainframe in tech mode, I think it costs like 150k prestige. Just sounds like you bought the wrong items is all.
Your power crystal requires control to operate(so does the table). You'll need to purchase a control room and a primary control element.

There's your problem. I did the same thing.
Your Augury Table and Crystal Focus are not "Main" forms of power/control, but Aux.
What they are meant to do is to "add a little MORE power/Control" if you need it. Not act as the main source of power/control. They "Connect" to a main source and bump up the power a little. if you check the main source, it will say (May have X AUX connections). This is the limit of these "Band-aid boosts" you can have.
You will need the "Big" source of power in the menu (costs 225K prest) and the big focus (costs a lot too).
From what I gather, your SG needs a million Prest. to get a good Base up...
OMG, they dont make it simple do they lol.... Well thanks for the help. Guess we have a big goal set out before us.... Again thanks, and I wish you all the best, take care til the next noob question I have comes along..... but at the same time
I have power, Control, and worktables, yet cant figure out how to get the rez circles. Anyone know how I can get them? The tables dont have it listed!
You don't have to craft the basic "rez rings". Once you put a medical room in, you can just buy them like any other object in that room. If you have a medical room and you're set to place items there, make sure the list of object tabs is scrolled all the way over. "Tech Medical" and "Arcane Medical" are at the far left, so if you were scrolled into the middle of the tab list, you might not see them unless you go looking.
The only medical room gear you have to craft is the improvements - insp vendor, rez ring booster, etc
@Mindshadow
Thanks, I should have thought of that before :P
I have recently found myself in command of an active SG on Liberty server. While I helped found this SG, I was not the Commander of it and was not permitted base edit ability.
Now, I find myself with base edit ability and have been doing everything I can to learn as much as I can about the crafting of items.
Our base is pretty functional, we have all three tech worktables and power is not an issue. We have a working infirmary and have teleport pads to all currently available beacons.
Our bases function and design issues were addressed appropriately by our former SG commander.
Here is where my inexperience with SG base form and function shines through...
When I craft items from my salvage I see the items I crafted in my salvage inventory. I then can take some of these crafted materials and create other things. These things also can be seen in my characters salvage inventory.
These items never leave my salvage inventory. I am gluttoned with salvage items to the point of excess and I can't seem to get rid of any of it.
I thought that by creating things with it, I could then place these items, but the created items just seem to sit in my salvage inventory.
Is the next step to go to the base editor and apply these items there? Im hesitant to experiment with an already wonderful base.
I am aware that the ability to store things like this in a type of 'bank' or container is soon forthcoming in i7.
Do other leaders find themselves unable to clear their inventories of salvage? or are we intended to trade it away? These are items I can certainly utilize. I have more tech power and tech material on me than a herd of professional stick shakers in a forest could shake a stick at.
suggestions as always are very welcome

Crafted items can be placed within the base using the "Place Personal Item" menu in the same button-window as the "Edit Base" menu. Be aware that there will be a prestige cost to place each item, so it's important to proceed with caution.
Components: You can hold a LOT more processed components than you can raw salvage. up to 99 of each type, i think. Storage items are coming in issue 7 and will help get some things out of your inventory, but for the most part you're just gonna have a lot of salvage. Also, the new "empowerment stations" coming in i7 will give you a little something to do with excess components.
I have a follow up question. if you sell a personal item, I understand you don't get back the salvage for building it. Do you get back the prestige for placing it?

Yes. Just like any other object.
The only way to "lose" prestige is through Rent and Raid fees. That's it.

And dont forget the base kick bug, ive lost over 500k prestige because of it, so after you place a large item or a room be sure to exit then re-enter base, if you have that problem anyway.
I honestly believe that it might be better for some of the smaller SG's to join up with each other, or join larger, more predominant SG's or VG's, especially VG's. Being that prestige is soooooooooooooo hard to come by for villains. I know people like smaller groups, and like to keep it that way, but honestly, I feel that smaller SG's and VG's will just be frustrated with the whole concept. I know Private bases are supposedly in the works, but I don't like the idea. I mean they added bases to help build these vast empires for heroes and villains a like. Who ever heard of a 2 bit villian or hero having a base? I just think there is too much anti-scialism between different SG's and VG's. I dunno how it is in other Servers, but on the heroes side, you can get help from anyone, at anytime. Villains, is a lil different, but we have a coalition with 3 other SG's and about to add a 4th. Those 3 are connected with15 other SG's. That's a lot of people! I just think hat small bases won't be good for the game IMO.
