I just respeced into this on my blaster and wow is it annoying when set to auto-fire. Here ya go...
Activation is
aim5.ogg
The constant hum is
phase_loop.ogg
Both in Powers.

Can someone tell me please the sound name to silence for the activation of hasten and burn, it seems to be the same sound for both.
Edit: just in case, thought I would add Im looking to get rid of the high pitched noise and not the flame sound.

Is hasten.ogg the one you're trying to mute?

Still looking for hotfeet's loop sound

Looping sound is

Im trying to get rid of the hasten-like high pitched whine noise during the activation of my fire tank's burn power.
After seeing your post I just tried puting in a silent version of hasten.ogg in powers on test to try that, still hearing the offfending noiseupon burn's activation unfortunantly.

Okay I was driving myself crazy trying to figure this out for you,
I must have laid down 100 Burn patches trying to figure out what you were talking about. Here's the thing - my fire tank doesn't have Hasten.
I copied over to test and respecced into it and guess what - you only get that high pitched Hasten sound if you use Burn while the Hasten power is active. You may want to report that bug.
That sound file, however, has got a little burst at the end, and is
hasten2.ogg
If you mute that, you should be good to go!
Woot, that was it! Thanks Nod.
Thank you, Nod, for taking the trouble to send me a PM about the Boost Range sounds. You're very kind.

You win the thread.
That would be an awesome sound for glowies.

Mortal Kombat - "GET OVER HERE!"
Right now I have the glowie sound swapped out with a standard windows sound, which makes it much easier to hear. However, I'd like to swap it out with the Leave It To Beaver theme.
For bank missions I use Mission Impossible, which I think is awesome.
I considered using a loony toons approach to activation sounds. For instance, when my gun blaster fires his sniper rifle it makes a whoopie cushion sound. I think that would get kind of old though.
If I have the time I'm going to make my Rage activation the "I AM IRON MAN" clip.
You know, if anybody has any creative sound files that may work well for certain activations, please post a link.
No linkage but at one point I had switched out the rumbling sound for Rooted with Henry Mancini's Baby Elephant Walk. It was absolutely hilarious after creating a key bind for my Stone/Ice tanker to activate Rooted and then kick on auto run.

I wish I knew how to do that stuff...read everything in this thread and nowhere does it say how to put the sound in for what you want something to sound like.
Unless I was reading to fast and skipped something somewhere :=/
Oh what would be funny is if you could put in the song(just the begining) from sanford and son when you get a salvage drop...LOL

We don't talk about stuff like that in this thread, stuff like that gets this thread killed. Please edit or remove your posts talking about stuff like that, thanks.

Please do not provide links to anything other than a single silent sound. Not even a silent sound pack. In order to do that the sound pack would have to contain the actual folder and file names used by CoH. Such a link or pack, especially if it was a modified CoH sound, could be considered as distribution of copyrighted material and subject to consequences.

Do not speak about that which must not be spoken about, strictly speaking...
I have a non-hyperthreaded single core processor, and an old sound card, so I suffer from a lot of sound lag in-game especially on teams. My idea was that I could use the techniques in this thread to take out the sounds that are especially troublesome. Powers like carrion creepers, some ice powers, etc; many times when I'm on teams with powers like this, hitting many mobs, I go from great performance to a slide show.
However, I'm not sure if this will work because my comp will still have to access a sound file it will just be different than the original. Any thoughts on this?
Also, anyone know the .oggs for Carrion Creepers? Looking at Thingamajig's web page I don't see anything powers listed under plant control but how about tentacle_loop.ogg, tentacleattack.ogg, and tentacleattack2.ogg? Would those be possibilities?
<QR>
I did not see it in this thread, so I am hoping someone can help me out.
Since we can have new weapon models, I have been looking at making a Mace tank and choosing a baseball bat as my weapon. However, the difference between the wooden bat and the metallic crush is somewhat jarring. I tried silencing the sounds, but could not seem to find the correct choices.
For the draw, I saw Maceout in both Powers and Weapons.
I saw several macehit noises, but I could not seem to get that to work.
Can someone help me track down the following?
1. When you draw the mace, both before the attack triggers and while the attack is activating.
2. The actual sound where the mace hits the target.
Most appreciated, thanks
Anyone know which file can silence the alarm sound in mayhem missions? I mean the one that triggers when you cross one of the red beams in the side mission and get the "Alarm triggered!" message. I have to turn my speakers off every time that happens.
I tried looking for a likely candidate just based on the file names and nothing jumped out at me. Even if anyone has any suggestions for possible names I'll try them but offhand I don't even know where to start.

It appears to alternate between MaceOut.ogg and Swordshing.ogg (both in Weapons) Mute both of those and I'm pretty sure you're covered.

Took a little looking (and this is just using Bash because I had to make a mace tanker to find these) the swing is whooshbig3.ogg and the connect is Axe5.ogg (both in Weapons)
What's the sound for the pocket D loop?
What is the file name and location for the sound used at the Villain side entrance to Recluse's Victory?
Its a giant time/space portal machine that makes a lot of noise.
Thanks
