How to silence specific game sounds

Just for the record, I had to remove my custom sound folder entirely. It was crashing CoH at the login screen. Anyone have any ideas for a workaround?

Ok, just for the record, if anyone else is interested in getting rid of the new menu music, the correct path is:

Data/sound/ogg/N_UI/Music

and the file name is:

N_MenuMusic_loop.ogg

Anyone know the name of the yell from Psychic Shockwave? I'm hoping it has a secondary sound that is separate, and that the yell isn't the same as the cimeroran one. Hopefully I'll find out soon .

(BTW this thread is amazing. Made my Demon MM 20x more fun to play lol. And Hasten&Tough silenced? Godsend )

Got your PM, I took a look.

The flies thing is

I tried for over an hour to find the sound for psychic shockwave and failed, in fact I managed to get just about every single psionic sound except that.

I made a list of all the sounds in the game as of today, if you wanna try to find it yourself. I've given up

hmm. I'll look at the list. I bet it has something to do with being a "voice" sound. And another hm...I think PsychicBlast and all it's proliferated sets came out around i12...issue of Cimerora, and romans also scream. I'll look into that.

Thanks for the help, I just got that Fly Trap this afternoon and after 5mins that noise had me muting the PC lol

Edit: NICE Beast Mastery is already in there. I skimmed over the Intrepid Informer on that....I was not excited to hear the pet's name is "Howler Wolf" lol . Now if I think of a concept to use that set with he'll be named Mute Wolf haha.

This thread is so much win.
I have finally silenced that overall hum in my base. Heaven!

Now to track down the hum that comes from the crystal in Azuria's room in City Hall... It's not *as* bad as it used to be, permeating the entire City Hall, but it's still a headache inducing sound.

I tried the roman screams, psionic_shockwave_attack01, and a ton of other things, and still couldn't get that scream to go away. Luckily the flies one was a simple fix .

One thing I found that was weird though, the psionicshockwave sounds under powers didn't modify the power's sound at all lol.

What are the soundfiles for:

The sound of writing with a pencil that some NPCs do
The sound of slurping a drink that some NPCs do
The sound of throat clearing that some NPCs do

Trying to level up or buy enhancements drives me crazy.

Any leads for the Dark immobilize sounds, Shadowy Binds and Living Shadows? The base sounds are a bit too loud and it sounds like Shadowy Binds has one of the heal sounds on top of it that's even more annoying since it gets spammed a lot.

Thanks Zombie . Do you know if the umbra beast of Dark uses the dog ones? I only found 2 umbra powers in my list I got earlier in the thread(which is missing Beast, I'd love if someone puts up the updated master). I'm trying to get rid of his incessant idle barking and the howl that seems like it might come from his immob attack.

Edit: hm. I'm not sure if I wanna silence it yet, but how about the name of the scream when the Shades die? None of the sounds grouped near them on my list seem like they'd be it.

Is the Umbra Beast's bark in that list somewhere? Which files would I have to silence if I just wanted to stop Umbra Beast's barking while it's idle?

I'm fine with all the other sounds it makes, but the barking is repetitive and downright unbearable at times.

(I have no knowledge about sound files at all, but... ) If the list groups Darkness Control's new sound effects together then you're not going to find the scream there. It's recycled from older powers.

It's the same scream used by CoT Ghosts and (I believe) Sonic Blast's Dreadful Wail.

Yes. the barking of the Umbra is bark1-7 in Zombie's list. (The howl the Beast uses when it attacks are also the generic doghowl1&2). And I checked, it does seem to use all 7 barks lol. That stupidly annoying woofwoofwoofwoofwoof woof it does all in rapid succession before it goes silent for a few secs is some combo of the 1->2->3->4->5->6->7. I silenced them one by one, and realized you can actually pick and choose a handful to silence and leave 1 or 2 of them and it'll be much less annoying without being totally mute.

Ok, what is(are) the file(s) for the Beast MM's Call Swarm ability?

I'm trying to play them off as Starlings for my Birdman of Zigursky character, but the buzzing is making that a bit difficult.

Edit: Might as well as for the files or Call Hawk and Call Ravens too (not that I want to silence those, but others might.) Oh, and the sorta Thunderclapy sound when you get a stack of Pack Mentality.
