The numbers for the empath badge concern me a billion points healed is ALOT.if i could heal a million a day every day it would take me 2.7 years to get that badge. A prestigious Badge indeed but Out of reach for almost all players.

I think accolades should have a 75% chance of failure at being gained... and no 2nd chance to get the accolade in the future. If you're one of the 75% who fail to get it by chance, tough cookie. Simply delete your account.

Now tell me that isn't a good friggin idea!!!! I can TOTALLY out nerf all you jerks. Can I be a dev? I'll make you proud, I swear. I could have everyone delete in 1 week, while making it look like they left over small petty things, so that you guys can shrug your shoulders when asked why CoH failed.

There are some very good idea's here, and just like another poster, it seems that most people have beat me to the punch. So let me just state my wants real quick like.......

#1) All Task Forces to have badges. Everyone one, from the Shard, to Striga, to Croatoa and yes, if they are datamined, it would be great, and the Calvin Scott TF Badge would be sweet!

#2) A Official CoH Badge page on these forums or this site. Basically like everyone says, a place to go and see all the badges, and how they are obtained. Not where, not how many, just how. Like, "Pumpkin Head" - this badge is rewarding for killing the Fire Blog. Doesnt tell us how many, just shows us the badge, and a small description of the badge. Or you can give a complete description, thats up to you Dev's to talk about.

#3) A better in-game way to view your badges and such. Many people above have already mentioned this, and I second, and third, and well, you get the picture, I support it.

And thats all I have to say about that. WOOT!!!

A few concerns:

1. While I appreciate the epicosity of the epic badges ( ), the underlying nature of them really, truly necessitates a progression bar for those categories. I'd also agree that the billion marker's a touch high, but that'd also make for server-level fame, which I suspect is the intent. Still, it's nice to have some clue how far you are along between the 100 mill and 1 billion markers.

2. Okay, while I respect that people want the Calvin Scott TF badge, I'd like for the TF to come back so that we can run it again (new exemping and all). Personal problem, I know.

3. I'd like to chime in and support the argument that new badges should be outlined, specifically, in number and location so that we can test them better.

My only comment is a petition to make new achievement badges retroactive. I truly believe that players should be rewarded for their successful efforts in Task Forces, no matter when they went through them (ie pre- or post-badge existence).

Please, please datamine for previous TF accomplishments. I really don't want to have to go through Quatermain's TF again.

Also, now that you added a badge for all four TFs of the Shadow Shard, any chance that maybe obtaining those four badges could grant an accolade? Completing all four is definitely something that'd warrant it.

I just hope that there is something after the deathless, undying and an unknown third one that I am 4/5ths of the way to getting and by the time it hits live I may have it.

I like the idea of a window that opens to show a larger version of the badge. You guys have some nice artwork. The text you can normally read in the badge window, along with how you got it. Cause once you get it on any hero I think it's safe to say that it wouldn't be a big puzzle tot he player again.

Another request that TF badges be awarded retroactively.

Either through datamining or by /petition, I don't care, but I got stuck between souvenir and badge in the Moonfire TF and I'd like something for it.

From what I heard, there's a new badge for healing 1 billion hit points. That will be virtually impossible to attain.

I suggest lowering it down to something epic but still attainable like 10 million.

Badges look good, but need to be smaller. They are way too huge as they are now.

I second (or third, or fourth) the idea of datamining for completed TFs for badges. It's been done before, it can be done again. I want my Destroyer of Strength badge.

New badges are always good.

Personally I don't mind some of the astronomical numbers for some of the badges you've created (the 1 billion X ones). I figure that your intention was a long term game w/ long term players, e.g. 2 years from now CoH is still going strong and those badges may be obtainable for a select few.

However, I would like TF badges to have the old souvenir texts associated with them, so when I look upon the Manticore TF badge, I can recollect who I fought and why I fought them. If possible, please consider adding a right-click info for EVERY badge.

I'd like the badges under achievements to be organized a little better as well. Each new issue just seems to drop achievement badges at the bottom of the list. Otherwise, kudos for badges.

The sheer amount and size of all the possible badges makes it impossible to take a screenshot of yourself with all your badges to show off.

How about a Badge screen similar to our hero I.D. screen that'll put our full avatar to the far left with all our badges scaled to fit our chosen resolution.

I mean that's part of the fun of collecting. To be able to show the ENTIRE collection at once! Pleeeease??

I am a badge-[censored] (rhymes with oar). I have the almost compulsive drive to get every badge just for the pure enjoyment of people telling me I have too much freetime. With this in mind, what's up with the billion mark? I have Medicine pool, but like others have said, I a mno match for a healer in combat. Heck, I'm interrupted in the Hami Raids because of the Goo making the single best time to get the badged useless! Can this be lowered a little.

I heard on a Dev Post a while back that certain of the new Epic ATs would be opened by attaining different things in-game. I'm guessing one of these (at least) will be badge-[censored] related. If this is the case, and if you can comment on this, will the billion-mark badges be included in attaining this goal? I as that because my fiance is an Emp Defender and a fellow BW, and she was aghast when she learned about the billion mark.

Just a thought. If you can't post it, however, can you at least send me a Yes/No in a PM? Thanks!

NEW BADGES!! YES!

Questions about them though:

The new Taskforce badges that are replacing the old souviners issued. Will we have to redo the taskforces to have those awarded? As it is, I do not have them awarded but I do have the previous souviners.

Badges for a billion?! Gonna need some extra end of game content for those, LOL.

Are some of those new badges meant to be so big? I mean they are huge in comparison to older badges, but you can see more detail. Going to need a bigger shadow box to veiw them all now.

Doing more with badges is cool. I look forward to any future ideas about badges.

Three things of concern for me:

01) The badge display is becoming so cluttered its nearly useless. When you have large number (like my main does), trying to find one specific one is nearly impossible. Some way to sort the badges - by alphabetical, by type, by zone - SOMEthing.

02) Token plea for getting the outbreak badge. On deaf ears, I know - but one has to try anyway.

03) The Billion Point Badge. While I like the idea of a large number badge, the damage and healing ones are TOO ginormous! Assume for a second that you do 500 points of healing every 10 seconds (a low average, but much better than my blaster can do right now), that means that the healer has to continously heal - non-stop - for 231 days*.

That's so far into the realm of unatainable, it might as well not exist.

* assuming that I got my sums right.

1) Size
The new Croatoa badges are HUGE. Nice artwork, but come on, they stick out like a sore thumb! Scale them down to the size of the rest of the badges and just make them zoom in to full size when highlighted. This can be said for Ectoplasmic and last year's Halloween badges.

2) Tabs
There aren't enough. The achievement tab gets way too long when you have a lot of badges. Split them into more categories.

3) Order
The newer badges from Issue 4 and 5 should be placed in and among the other badges, not at the beginning/end of the list like they are now. The 'defeat x' badges should go in the lump with the rest of them (or should be in its own tab).

4) Official list
Could we have a list of all the available badges? An official one? Maybe all of the "???" badges with progress bars could have info on what is needed to obtain it.

5) Progress bar
Some badges have them and some don't. I can see why some don't, like events that don't last forever (read: Halloween), but they should be there for the rest of them. Unless of course the 1 billion mark stays, because some badges would be progress bars from now until eternity, and that would annoy me.

6) 1 billion points
This has got to be either a rumor or a mistake, because nobody will EVER get those. Someone already stated that it would take 230 days of continuous healing to get the healing badge, and the damage taken badge would take a regen scrapper a year of sitting in Tyrant's lava to get (I made up that number, but it's probably accurate)...

7) Datamine
Some people don't have the time to do a task force again that they deserve a badge for.

I like them, I love them, keep the badges coming.

My only concern is the order they are appearing, like some others stated. If I get a 'damage taken' badge it would be nice to have it with the older ones of the same catagory.

Everything else is fine and dandy with me. I like the different shaped badges. Honestly, after the Halloween ones I was a bit bummed out when the Winter ones were so plain and normal. So bring on the differences! Woot!

ty for the thread. Badges are all fine, migth want to fix some of the new zone badge sizes, but eevrything else is okay. I think a few have mentioned a "sort" option for badges, I think that would benefit or help us a bit. Also maybe a number counter like XXX/100 counter would be helpful. Also some of us older/veteran players dont have access to newer badges like Isolator or V.I.P. , or will there ever be something for us to get they can't? like How long you acocunt has been active, or maybe even better yet a badge for posting here on the boards, maybe our Titles on the forums can be carried over to the game as a badge or title.

Just emphasizing what has been said:

- please resize the new badges. Although the graphics are awesome, it looks weird to have different sized ones. At least the hunting ones.

- put some order in. I don't like that the new debt badges (amongst others) are at the end of my list and not with the other, corresponding badges I already had.

- maybe split the achievement badges into 2 categories, Achievement (debt, inf, dmg, etc) and Trophies (all those hunting ones).

- unattainable badges suck. Maybe some people really did take 1 billion dmg points, but as a lv50 rad defender I can guarantee I will not have healed 1 billion HPs in ages. It is hard enough as it is to get the healer (and IMO mentor and stun) badges.

Additionally, I forgot to mention this, please lower the numbers for such "annoying" badges as Rikti Monkeys, Prisoners, Carnival Illusions and Rularuu Lts. Those are mobs you will never fight sufficiently during your hero career (and I mean lvl1-50) to even closely get the badges. They require farming/herding (especially the monkey one, obviously), something that you want to avert and are once again working against with the newest changes. So please don't encourage it either, knowing that players will want the badges (again, especially monkeys, since it's needed for a really good accolade).

While Isolator is a one-time chance, the VIP badge is obtainable by gettind a DVD edition code (either from a box or the online store) and using it to *UPGRADE* your existing account under the account management webpage. It will award the badge to your characters when they log in.

Badges alone are not an adequate substitute for TF souvenirs.

It was working for a while. (I've got three of them.)
Someone, somehow, broke it.
Don't just take it out, fix it. Make it right.

Give us this reward for taking the extra effort to experience the content of this game, rather than power-leveling or street-sweeping; give us something more to remember the experience by than a bar with a Roman numeral on it.

Prove that you want us to care about content ... or don't.

I noticed when I logged in with my lvl 50 regen char that I had a couple new badges, but even after looking at the description for them in the list I still had no idea as to why I had gotten the new badges or what they were for in the first place. The description was to vague to tell me. I also noticed a badge is now available for completing the moonfire TF, which I had done after striga was released but it says I didnt complete it. So I am guessing there was nothing keeping track of this so Now I will have to complete that TF again.
I beleive Cryptic should add an official badge list to the website so we can see and tell in more detail as to what the badges are all about. thanks

As with pretty much everything already stated (size, progress bars, descriptions, etc)............

Is there any way to include the new feature of multiple participation counts for badges involved with Pre-Issue 5 Monsters/Events (and of course beyond)? Not necessarily a new badge for each successful encounter, but have the description/graphic change to reflect the number of times you were successful with a certain encounter/event?

Lusca in IP is a very epic-style fight for any level of hero. But, there isn't that much incentive to fight him more than one time per hero unless just to help out.

On the other hand, the Paladin Construction site is anti-climatic IMO and there is ZERO incentive to ever partake in that encounter more than once overall....much less for each hero.

And with the spawns of the other rare Monsters seemingly fairly random and drawn out, taking them on more than once *and* get credit for it may be quite an encouraging push for a lot of players.

Even if the description isn't changed to reflect the number, what about a number superimposed over the badge to reflect the number of times you've helped rid the CoH world of a particular nasty? This way, those who view your badges could also see this number.

And I certainly have to give my nod to the notion of reducing the number needed for Zookeeper and the seemingly random numbers needed for the Illusionist badges. If these two badges weren't attached to Accolades, I'd certainly agree with the counter-argument of "they are just fluff...ignore them if you don't want to spend the time for them"; but they are attached to an increased ability. With the sheer numbers needed, this is very anti-CoH in terms of tediousness and repetition.
