Most of my badge concerns have been covered already, but I wanted to reiterate some of them because I feel it's important.

<ul type="square">[*]Badge tab organization. We need to be able to have all of the badges grouped together for their types. All of the new ones are simply just being either added to the top or the bottom of the list, away from their associated badges. It looks like the sheer amount of badges which are accumulating are starting to necessitate additional tabs. [*]Progression meters. I'd like the badge progression to be a little more descriptive. Maybe a 10/100 format like what's used for debt and experience. [*]The badges themselves could be a bit bigger overall. As many have said, they look very nice but it seems that due to their size the work put into the art isn't appreciated as much as it could be. [*]Finally, badges should be made to specifically say what they're for. If not in the badge description itself, maybe with some mouse-over information indicating what the achievment was for "You have repaid 1,000,000 debt" or something like that.[*]Badge Usefullness. Just something that I thought I'd throw out there. Maybe the more badges you get the more influence you could earn. That's about all I can think of at the moment. Overall I love the badge system and am really looking forward to getting these new badges when they hit the live servers. I'm such a badge junkie. =)

What would be really neat is if when you sported a badge for killing a certain group they suffered a 5%debuff to attacking you. Sort of the badguys are a little more intimidated by you because of how successful you have been at arresting them.

So having the kill skulz badge would give Skulls a -5% to hit, or something, when you wear that badge tittle.

Just a thought.

Pardon the sarcasm but if you really don't want the players to herd anymore then why does the monkey badge exist with such an insanely high arrest count?

I know you guys get a lot of grief along the lines of "Do you even play an XYZ build?", but "Have you tried to spend a few hours getting your monkey badge even with herding?" Do you consider it balance or fun with herding? It will only get worse without.

I've got one. Now that all TFs award a badge instead of a souvenir, is there someway the badges can indicate more than just a one-line summary of your mission? I miss having the souvenir summaries, and would hate for the new Crotoa TF to be similarly shorted in my collection. Fine, don't bring back the souvenirs despite the fact they were more detailed/rewarding. But make the badge substitute worthwhile. This has been a huge disappointment since Issue 4, and I only once had trouble with a TF souvenir (the ever-buggy Scott) which was immediately fixed.

I find the requirement for the Banisher Badge is a bit ridiculous. 200 Spirit Masks! At their current spawn rate. 3 to 4 spawn at time across the entire map of Dark Astoria. Then after a short time of hunting they seem to stop spawning entirely. . I know it should take some time and effort to collect these badges but this seems a bit much. It would be best if either the requirement was lowered or the # of spawn was increased.

if you go to Talos Island at night, by the buildings near the DA entrance they spawn there, and you can just run around the building after 2 or 3 nights you should get them. ( thats in game nights, not real time )

And so I dont waste my one post, a progress bar for the healing ones would be nice, or as was said do it like the exp bar 1234/12345 so you can keep track.

More Accolades would be nice too

3. more tabs. it's getting to the point were having an "Achievement" tab for the mentoring, influence, etc. badges should be separate from the vilain hunt badges. Perhaps a new tab called "Arrest Record" for the villain badges? Also, the one shot badges from things like the winter lords and Halloween could be put on a separate tab as well to further distinguish them.

otherwise, thanks for further destroying what little social life I had with these new badges whose progression bars taunt my OCD every waking second.

change the durn Monkey badge. 10K kills with limited AoE an the inability to herd them? not cool. drop to 1K. the high number was obviously due to you knowing we could mass herd the little buggers. you've taken serious steps to kill herding, so scale the requirement back

and i really want my Shadow Shard TFs datamined for their badges!

I COMPLETELY agree with you on the Croatoa badge size and ESPECIALLY the Monkey badge. Being the cute little dedicated empath I am, I really can't kill much on my own. It would take me a good 40 hours to get the last 6k monkeys I need for that badge and Accolade. I really don't like depending on tanks and some scrappers for this badge...PLEASE change it! &gt;.&lt;

what i would like to see added/modified with badges...

1. progression bar for all badges
2. lower amount for monkey badge
3. count added to progression bar (like for health,endurance, and xp)

Seconded. Points one and two are SERIOUS quality of life issues. The third is only a MAJOR quality of life issue.

They did number two. Testing verifies that the Monkey badge has been lowered substantially. I had less than a quarter of the monkies needed on live on my blaster, yet when I logged in on test, I got the badge. Other people are reporting lowered amounts for the Illusionist badge as well.

Monkey badge has been lowered. Never hunted monkeys before on live with my level 39 WS. Logged into test and was 3/4 there. That is from missions only.

My main problem is the Shard TF badges not being rewarded upon login. Now if they say it will be datamined and awarded on Live then i'm fine with that. I know for sure though I won't be doing those TF's a second time though. Especially that boring Quarterfield TF. Moonfire is right there too though on the excitement factor. At least it's a short duration...

However, the description text is very much less than descriptive. 'I feel like I might be unkillable'? What was this badge issued for again? Dying? Debt? Working Debt off? Being Rezzed? Going to red health but not dying?

Also, in the case of the Badges awarded for Story Arcs and Task Forces, please make it possible to view the entire 'extended clue' text.

Better yet, let clicking on the badge show: (as tech and programming evolves):

- a series of hand drawn comic book pages showing scenes form the TF/Story Arc, with your &lt;heroname&gt; mentioned in the blurbs.

- Pre-posed screenshots form the stories done in comic book form, with your character model swapped into the appropriate spots.

- Game engine cut scenes from the story with your character swapped in.

- Squaresoft/Pixar quality rendered movie cut scenes starring your character!

...and so forth, in your copious free time...

Hey, logged in with the updated patch and saw the Croatoa badges at normal size. Awesome.

the monkey and illusionist badges are reduced in requirement. Really Awesome.

Now we just need a new tab for villain badges versus achievement badges, the badges in the proper order, a grouping of the exploration badges by zone, and we're cool!.


Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

I'd like to see badges for Void killing. My Warshade gets satisfaction that I got him before he got me but it would be nice to have some record of how many. Maybe 3 badges, first one for killing 100 second one for killing 500 and a third one for killing 1000. It may also give more people incentive to team with Khelds. I mean you can find Voids in groups in PP and the Hollows but it's much easier and more reliable when running missions with Khelds.

Hiya DEV's!

First of all, I want to say this has been a sort of godsend game for me. I won't go into details, but I have for the past year or so, had to make some major changes in my life that now have me spending far more time at home. I was introduced to the game by one of my mom's ICU nurses who basically swore by it. So, I bought it and have rarely gone a day without putting some time in on Champion since then. Now I mention this to give you some sense of where I am coming from and put into perspective what I am about to say regarding badges in the game.

At this point, I have had a level 50 character that I worked very hard to get to that level and that is still my favorite toon. She has nearly all the badges currently available, though she is missing all three of the Healing badges, the final damage badge, I believe that one is called Unbreakable, and the Isolator badge that one gets in the tutorial zone. I haven't respeced her yet for the healing PP, so those will come when I do. The Isolator badge I can't get because of having already been part of the game prior to badges being introduced--I did plan on petitioning that once I get all the others though. As for the damage badge, well, I guess I just need to take more damage. lol Still, as a Super Reflexes Scrapper, that means dieing a great deal more too. So, you now realize that I have quite a few under my belt already, and know a bit about badges and what it takes to get them. Alright, that having been established, let's move on to my perspective regarding badges.

For many of those I have come across in the game who, like myself have at least one level 50 toon, there is not much more for us to do in the game and achieve other than badges. Those who do not already have a level 50 toon are so busy doing their best to get one, that they don't seem to pay much attention to the badges. For them it seems to be all about leveling. I have read that you all are working on the end game, and it would seem that this is more related to the powers themselves and tweaking them, one way or the other, rather than creating more levels for us attain or new areas at our levels to explore--I don't wish to go into FBZ and the areas associated with it, as I very much dislike the transportation system there, though I have read on the test server that this has changed. Anyway, from my point of view of a long term player with more than one level 50 toon, it seems to me that it is important to have something for us, those who do still love playing the game, something to look forward to for our highest level toons. The auto-exemp. feature is a great step forward in this regard, but this thread is about Badges, and they too are a great thing, as they are about all I really play my level 50 Scrapper for now, at least in terms of things she can achieve in the game. I am nearly out of contacts, so missions are pretty much out. Badges are about all that is left to me at this point. So, I say, bring them on!!!

I have read a few of the posts asking for minor changes to the sizes of badges, their colors and organization, and how tough it will be to attain some of them. Well, I say who cares. The harder they are to get, the better! They will mean more to me and to my toon if they are difficult to attain. The other issues don't seem very important as long as there are plenty of new badges out there to be had. You have given those of us who have level 50 toons very little else to play for in the sense of an achievement, and I would suggest that the more badges you can come up with the better. Be sure and make them tough, as this will only increase their value in the minds of us who work for them. There could be badges for Monsters or Hami--now that there seems little reason to bother mounting a raid, it seems to me that if you want us to attempt to defeat Hami, then you need to give us an incentive to do so. A badges associated with number of successful raids might be one way to do it. Basically, it seems to me that if you want to REALLY look at the endgame, then it is important to keep in mind that we, those of us with level 50 toons, need something to shoot for and achieve if we are to continue to feel good and interested in playing out level 50 toons. This is also likely true of the game in general, though people play for so many reasons, I am feel less certain about this statement's truth. In either case, though the level of damage and so on needed to attain some of the proposed badges seems incredible and not attainable, it will say all the more for those few who stick with it and do manage to get them. The organization, size and color of them are all small issues compared to giving us more reasons to play and enjoy playing. I would hope that is the over all goal of Statesman and the rest of you fine folks in development.

Thanks for listening/reading and for a great game. I am not always happy with the changes, but I will learn to live with them. The fun, at least for me, is in the playing and striving, not in how quickly or easily I manage to defeat an enemy.

Over the course of 23 or so hours, my main character did the four Shard TF's.

Twenty. Three. [censored]. Hours.

I don't just want badges for those. I was god damn medals and a ticker tape parade.

I signed onto test, and Lord Behold, no Shard badges. And I'm told there isn't currently any plans to add them. If badges aren't made retroactive for these... Grrr.

Grrrr.

-New badges are beautiful. Congratulations again to the artists who get better with each issue. Way to go !
-People stop complaining about the 1 billion badges, please !
The game is meant to be played for more than a couple of months. People are unhappy because they would like to get the badges in a day or so. The highest badges are meant to be gained after weeks of gameplay. The difficulty is exponential. The numbers are only normal imho...If the numbers are lowered, players will be crying for new badges in a month. Low challenge = low satisfaction when u get them.
- I agree that new tabs would be welcome. As well as grouping explo badges by zone. That would be awesome. Someone mentioned to give them a different color for each zone. Awesome idea!
- I can't wait to get the new accolade! (Hopefully it is implemented at I5 launch)
- Talking about accolade, I always thought that having a "mission-badge" as a requirement was somehow unfortunate. Now that the Hollows, Striga and croatoa are live (or soon will be) it is more than likely that your character misses the missions in the earlier zones (like steel or skyway). So you end up not getting the "spelunker" badge, for example, because you are playing the new zones, and thus, you don't get the atlas accolade. Your only chance is to spam for the "fortune teller" mission and exemplar for it. Not really glamourous. Hopefully, the "flashback" will eventually make it some day and this problem will be resolved.

I just copied my lvl 50 blaster to test and I can confirm that the zookeeper badge has seen its requirements drastically lowered ( probably more than a tenth of the former numbers required). HOWEVER , I didn't see any difference in my illusionist badge that stayed at approximately 60%, exactly like on live....
Did anybody actually see a reduction for the illusionist badge ?
For now, I'll consider the rumor as false.

Edit: I sent my main over to Test and the only badges I recieved on login were the death badges ( heheheheh.. &gt;_&gt; ).

I completely agree, three badges for Voids would be nice, but give us at least one badge for killing these annoying buggers!

While I understand your desire for more badges, more content, more things and goals for your level 50 character to pursue, I doubt you'd appreciate the badges you have as much if they were just blank squares with a label. Or imagine if your character (the Fashion Pixie) could only wear a blank white set of tights. Presentation does matter.

The badges will get done when they're done. When they are done, I would like them to look as nice as possible.

Question: are you going to retroactively give badges for TF's like moonfire, SS1-4 once they are added in I5? Does the code allow for this or is the information from a person completing those TF's not kept?
