17/21, with at least 50% luck. I've never even heard of half the heroes/villains given as choices there.

Justice Hunter, 50 Inv/SS Tank

Slenszic, 50 Sword/Energy Stalker

MA Arc IDs: 1355, 2341, 2350

20/21 - Got the Commander Courage one right, but only by process of elmination. I looked him up on google and I still have no idea who he is, heh. Then I got the Nova one wrong, because I was thinking of the wrong Nova.

20/21 on the 48-pixel superheroines, too. Most of those were too easy.

21/21. A number of these were gotten by process of elimination. If there's no red in it, you can probably rely on the fact that it ain't the Crimson Avenger. . . .

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the original Crimson Avenger's costume was bright orange-yellow.

21/21 on the super heroine quiz. This time, Sonja almost got me. Wouldn't have a clue who she was if I hadn't worked in a comic book store for three years.

20/21, including 7 correct of which I'd never even heard.

So, I'm not a comic geek, just good at multiple-guessing.

I should have stopped paying you as soon as I realized that you were using my money to change the PvE game I love into a PvP game. It was foolish of me to trust you to leave PvE intact.

Heh, after doing some research, Commander Courage is a Golden Age superhero who didn't actually exist in the Golden Age. The website those two flash quizzes come from is a fake online newsletter for a fake comic shop, run by two guys who don't exist. It's all a big promotion for a movie / fake-documentary starring Mark Hamill, about a pair of comic geeks who don't want Hollywood to screw up their favorite nonexistant hero from the Golden Age when they make the "Commander Courage" movie and turn him into a violent post 9/11 action hero.

Seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. I spent like half an hour reading through the articles on onceuponadime.com trying to sort through what was legit and what was fiction. And didn't even figure out that the guy in the pictures was Mark Hamill in disguise until I did some more research. Crazy.

I suppose I should have posted at the beginning, I got 19/21 on the men.

17/21 on the women. I noticed a lot of the female heroines were more modern. I don't know much about comics past the 80s...

21 out of 21.

19 out of 21. That's either really impressive or really sad. I'm not sure which.

Posted

13/21 - Reason? I only know the "popular" heroes ( I.E., Batman/Robin, Captain America, The Hulk, Etc... )

Too many 50's to list...

Got Nova wrong

C'mon, you all call yourself comic book geeks and you haven't seen Comic Book: The Movie (IMDb Link)? You can't be a real geek until you see it. Check your local Blockbuster, they should have it. Or better yet, buy it, it's pretty cheap ($12.95 from the CB:TM site, less than Amazon even ).

Mark Hamill grabbed a bunch of his voice actor friends - Billy West (Fry, current voice of Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd/Porky Pig), Jess Harnell (Wakko Warner, Captain Hero), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob Squarepants), Debi Derryberry (Jimmy Neutron), Jim Cummings (current voice of Winnie the Pooh & Tigger, Tasmanian Devil) and many more - and went out to create a film to celebrate comics. It was filmed mostly at the Comic Con, International in San Diego in 2002 and it won Best Live-Action DVD at the DVD Exclusive Awards. Sid Caesar and Jonathan Winters tied for Best Supporting Actor in a DVD premiere movie for their appearence in it.

Ok, ok, I'll shut up now, but it is a funny, funny show, you really need to go check it out. Hey, I've got to plug it, I appear in the background in a couple scenes (look for the tall, long haired geek in the grey shirt in the Chase Masterson scene )

Anyway, I scored: 19 out of 21
Which is surprising since I'm not here for the comic book culture.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which only proves how iconic a basic color pattern can be.

20/21 here.
