Waaaitaminute. If Ghost Falcon is a Praetorian, then Blue Steel can't have a counterpart... why?
[/ QUOTE ]
He probably HAS a counterpart on Praetorian earth. But his counterpart wouldn't be a Praetorian, since he isn't in the Freedom Phalanx. Ghost Falcon isn't a Praetorian either, he just lives on Praetorian earth. -
Heh, after doing some research, Commander Courage is a Golden Age superhero who didn't actually exist in the Golden Age. The website those two flash quizzes come from is a fake online newsletter for a fake comic shop, run by two guys who don't exist. It's all a big promotion for a movie / fake-documentary starring Mark Hamill, about a pair of comic geeks who don't want Hollywood to screw up their favorite nonexistant hero from the Golden Age when they make the "Commander Courage" movie and turn him into a violent post 9/11 action hero.
Seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. I spent like half an hour reading through the articles on onceuponadime.com trying to sort through what was legit and what was fiction. And didn't even figure out that the guy in the pictures was Mark Hamill in disguise until I did some more research. Crazy. -
20/21 - Got the Commander Courage one right, but only by process of elmination. I looked him up on google and I still have no idea who he is, heh. Then I got the Nova one wrong, because I was thinking of the wrong Nova.
20/21 on the 48-pixel superheroines, too. Most of those were too easy. -

Where are the 8 zones that hose up leaping? How about the 8 zones that hose teleport? What about the 8 that hose flight? Let's keep it square. By 'hose up' I mean take 4-5 times as long to get around as when using those powers in other, non-problem zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Shadow Shard hoses leaping just as much as super speed. The Crash Site is just as irritating with leaping as it is with super speed (every time you land, a million mobs spawn). Boomtown is NOT hard for super speeders to get around in.
So basically that only leaves Faultline and Terra Volta as zones that are tough on JUST super speeders. Which, honestly, is just the way it is. You CAN get around those zones just fine. It just takes 4x as long.
The only solutions I can see are to make every zone boring and flat, or build ramps on everything, or give super-speed the ability to super-leap as well. All of which seem like bad ideas to me. Seriously, you chose the travel power that lets you run really fast. Big holes in the ground are your kryptonite. Deal with it. -

I have a question. Would my character called Fan-Boy who looks like Superman and his alternate costumes look like Batman and the Hulk against the Terms of Service? He really isnt supposed to be them, just a guy dressed like them. I hope he isn't because I like him a lot.

It's not much of a stretch (if at all) to say that yes, this may well violate the EULA/ToS.
EDIT (somebody beat me to it): I won't claim I'm right...but from what I've found the devs have grounds to force you to change your character, or delete it, if they choose. I imagine it all depends on how this lawsuit works out.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would say a character called "Fan-Boy" that dresses up like superheroes but obviously isn't them, would fall under Parody and be ok.
An INV/SS tanker named Son of Krypton would be a pretty blatant ripoff, though, esp. if his costume looks anything like Superman. -

Do I want to buy a whole new account and start Avatars from scratch to do this? No. Stick me with a way to earn the items (Vets), offer store bought DVD as an Upgrade, or payable download key.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, yeah, they're already doing that. You can buy the DVD in stores and use the key to enhance your CURRENT account with the new perks. Or you can wait and just buy JUST the new perks for less money and apply them to your account. -

Does anyone know what kind of powers the Epic AT will have? The last I had heard was that you could mix and match primaries and secondaries and be able to make a "tank-blaster". Is this old speculation or is there new info on this?
[/ QUOTE ]
The last official word I remember hearing was that they had their own special primaries and secondaries. -

I heard it gives you 30% resistance to untyped and psionic damage. Also, it makes pie.
[/ QUOTE ]
Holy crap, before this starts any rumors, I posted that AS A JOKE. Please please please don't believe that it actually does that. The VIP badge does nothing. -

6) It seems to me there's something wrong with the enemy kill counters (I feel like someone must have posted this before). I dusted off my lvl 18 blaster last night from about 2 months of disuse and noticed he had no gear kills. He had made a small living killing Clock Princes before, and I know I wiped up a fair # of gears too. Similarly, he had no kills for any other boss type. Were the counters reset after the badge patch, or do you have to kill at least 1 of something post-badge patch for the kill badge counter to come up or what? I feel there's a bug in here somewhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
No bug here. None of the kill counters (or debt counters, or heal counters, or damage taken counters, etc) counted anything that happened before the badges went live. They only started counting after the badges were created. The only things that were retroactive were the mission and task force badges (because they could go through your character data on the server and see if you'd done those). -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, you have broken all 3 of these commandments so far. In the latest patch, accuracy was nerfed (or mob defense was raised, the same thing.) breaking your "no nerfing accuracy" commandment. This was also not listed anywhere in th patch notes, breaking your "no stealth nerfs" commandment, and the game has become totally frustraiting at the high levels as every boss I have encountered there has been able to stun and kill me without allowing me any ability to fight back.
This game has become a miserable waste of time at the high levels, and I really hope that the devs take a look at the very real problems with rampant holding and other status effects being used by bosses.
Way to break 3 of your own rules Gekko, with devs like you, this game is as good as dead come WOW.
Oh, and this game used to be FUN, before I hit level 40 and realised all my missions are no longer soloable. I don't want a game with the BS 100% forced grouping of everquest.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me give you the 10 Commandments of Napier:
* Don't tell us you're leaving for WoW. Just go play WoW if you want to.
* Don't insult the devs personally. It makes you look like a petulant child.
* Don't claim that accuracy has changed without LOADS of proof to back it up.
* Don't complain that you can't solo bosses with stuns or holds. This has been explained in about forty or fifty other threads. Play a character with status protections, use inspirations, find a friend who can buff you with status protection, avoid those bosses, or figure out a different strategy for them.
* Do read some other threads before you just start posting crazy nonsense.
* Do go wash Geko's car.
* Don't exaggerate so much. There are plenty of soloable missions post 40. There was no 100% forced grouping in Everquest, nor is there here.
* Do thank the devs for actually making some of the post 40 missions interesting, instead of the same boring soloable ones we had for the first 30 levels.
* Do learn to spell words like "frustrating" "Geko" and "Alchemist".
* Don't take anything I say too seriously. -

Here's a handy bind that I didn't see posted in here, (if it was and I missed it, I apologize), one of the most important binds for a defender:
/bind F1 "team_select 1"
/bind F2 "team_select 2"
/bind F3 "team_select 3"
etc
It's so handy to have a button to hit to select a teammate for heals/buffs, instead of trying to click on them, or click on their name in the team list.
Also, I have a key bound to:
/bind h "em point$$say $target is over there"
So that I can point out a big bad boss before someone rushes the minions and aggro's him, so that I can point out glowies to whoever is in charge of clicking them, or hostages, etc.
And, just to reiterate something that's been said a couple times before:
When you run into new baddies you've never fought before, right click on them and read the info. It's usually entertaining, and it gives you a little insight into how they're gonna try to beat you down.
