One addition to the scrapperlock:Sometimes the Feral or even wild scrapper will feel dejected if a teamate decides to summon a Wolfie on there "territory".They will try to fight tougher things then Fido until enventually one of them "bites the dust"

Bascally don't summon your Fido on my territory

You're not alone. I tend to carry 4 reds, 4 purples, 2 greens, 2 blues, 2 yellows, and a Bounce Back... everything at least level 2. And I get UBER HACKED if I have to burn any of them; do you know how HARD I worked to collect all those? Still trying to find another Bounce Back, too... *grumble mutter*

Poor little Swift Raid. He tries so hard to be a civilised Scrapper and team up. But then the scrapper lock kicks in and..................well the blender comment seems to sum it up.
If you are ever on Infinity and need some bosskilling-semitanking-[censored]!?! fun. give Swifty a shout. lvl 31 MA/Regen scrapper. Always looking for help to be house trained.

What is this scrapper leash people keep saying they wished they had? Is it some kind of Power Pool?

Astonishingly well done! Funny, yet informative.
Thank you!

A secondary misconception of scrappers is
that they're all "freaking psychotic."

[/ QUOTE ]

Misconception? Nah. Dead on, I'd say.

Your post is especially poignant, CaptainAdept, as poor
Faelchu (see sig) has just met his first AV, and may have
to learn how to behave in polite company. Maybe not.
We'll see.

I would like to suggest a footnote, though, if I may.
Regarding a feral scrapper's need to a target to call
their own: sometimes a feral scrapper will act out this
need in another manner. Instead of adopting a target to
call their very own, the feral scrapper will sometimes
adopt their team and woe betide the foolish baddie
who dares to attempt to harm the scrapper's adopted
team mates. Though in appearance this behavior appears
to be that of the civilized scrapper, its source
is different for the feral scrapper. The team needs
to be aware of this, as sometimes the feral scrapper's
attention snaps back and forth between a lone "real" target
and a lesser baddie damaging a team mate.

Liberty:
LadyBlue L46 emp/rad defender
LadyMuppet L31 inv/fire tanker
LadyDespair L27 dark/dark feral scrapper
Fiachna L18 ar/dev blaster
Guardian:
Faelchu L36 bs/inv savage scrapper

Yes, my attention does snap back an forth in a group, especially if there is a defender or lower lvl that I decide to 'parent'.

That is very, very true, CrystalMoon. I would be considered a Feral with aspects of the other two, and I can honestly say that while I don't take teams frequently, I am very protective of the ones I grow to like. I adopt them, and I become suicidally protective of everyone on it.

Now granted, that doesn't happen frequently. I prefer to duo or run alone, but every once in a while I get the urge to work with a full team. I'm remarkably good at it, but it isn't usually my preference due to the extremely high percentage of stupid people out there.

So if you ever meet a DM/Regen scrapper by the name of Alriana, realize that she's a Feral type and not easily coerced onto a team. But if you play smart...

Savage, occasionally acting Feral. Solo or duo is the way to fly and my favorite partner for killing stuff is of course another BS scrapper. Glorious, glorious carnage.

It did take several trips to the hospital for me to decide that I just wasn't going to be able to take down psi Babbage solo. First trip was just from me running in without MOG to see if he could one-shot me.

He could

Hahah, this thread is great! Props for writing it out. I'd have to stay I'm in between Savage and Feral. I love a good challenge, and have been known to try do solo things I really have no buisness fighting. However, I'm not stupid enough to give myself 5 levels of debt trying. I rarely group unless its with people who I know. When I do group, I perfer small to mid sized groups. Its more dangerous and exciting that way.

What CrystalMoon said is 100% true. When I do group, I'm fiercely protective of my squishies (even more so if they're friends).

Now pardon me while I go "arrest" some thugs.

Started out Savage, eventually became Feral then Civilized. What can I say, the food is too good to pass up.

This is so embarassingly accurate I'm thinking of scrapping my scrapper.

I'm somewhere between Feral and Civilized.

!BEWARE OF SCRAPER!

Grrrrrrr!!! Grrrrrr!!!!! RRRRRAAAARRRRGGRRRAAAWWWW!!!!

my main is very likely Scrappus Devastatus
a note needed about scrapperlock, it isn't always a sign that the scrapper can't work as a team... it is often a case of the scrapper wanting to contribute to a team.
even worse than having your target stolen from beneath you is watching it tumble down the hallway
neither scrappers nor tanks really likes playing fetch. there have been a few times that I have basically looked at the rest of the team and wanted to emote "now look what you did... you can go fetch it"
additionally, people forget one of the greatest powers a scrapper can have. Confront I think they call it now... if the scrapper can use it well to pull in single or small groups it can make missions much faster than the standard of charge, hope to survive, rest... with some teams, single pulls can keep me very busy and nobody really gets tired at all. too bad scrappers don't have that available without power pool until 12

I would say I'm more of a Scrappus Devastatus, with some tendacies of a feral(CrystalMoon's kind).
I rarely ever team usless I have too, I have soloed Dr. Vahz, FrostFire(had a scrapperlock death during it), the Positron TF, trioed the Synapse TF, Maestro, and have been the first man in and last man out during a Hess generator disaster(only dying because my end was depleted while in a horde of villians.) Plus I love to use MoG just for the hell of it.

I think I'm sitting around 32 Storyarcs so far, my greatest enemies are sappers, and missing when I need the hit the most.

---EDIT---
My Feral side comes out only when there is a defender or controller who I know is looking out for me. I think its the fact that since they are looking out for me even a little bit that I get overzealous with my parenting skills. Even if they can usually manage to hold there own at times I look at any attempt to hurt them as indirect attempt to bring me down. I especially get upset when a */Rad controller or a Rad/* defender gets hurt because that usually indroduces and old enemy of mine that I hate (missing a target).
