Think of that first 90% as your steps along the Noble Eightfold Path. Every percentage you gain above 90% is Kensho.

This is my budget build for BA/WP...not so much for pylon soloing as it is about mowing through hordes of mobs. Survival is phenomenal, and it's an absolute blast to play.
If anybody has pointers on improving it without spending a ton, I'm all ears.

Fury is not a stat boost. Fury is a state of being. A true Brute never reaches full Fury. He always wants more and is pissed off because more isn't enough.
-
Apologies if this has already been covered, but are ticket drops affected by this change, or is it only XP that is affected?
I don't use the MA to level, so if it's only XP that changes, I don't care. I play arcs for the sake of playing them, and for the sake of equipping my toons. -
Quote:Some of us were taking down AVs solo years ago...IO sets are just beginning to make up for the nerfs inflicted over the course of I3-present. The I5 GDN and I6 ED nerfs being the most obvious offenders. If you really think about it if WOW system was designed to Top at level 100 or so then they Deliberately restricted players to lower levels. Just so they could raise the cap every so often.
Our Devs had a system that meant to stop at 50 and they created the IOs so we can become even stronger. Now there's players taking down AVs by themselves. I'm glad we weren't perspicuously restricted to 50 just so with each expansion they can tease us with more levels.
We've gotten no new levels of power. Rather, we've gotten a highly inflationary system for regaining that which was taken from us.
Not saying the game is unfun. If it sucked, i wouldn't still be playing. Let's be realistic, though. -
Quote:tbh, for I15, I would have preferred that they do nothing but fix longstanding bugs. Content-wise, it was a fairly weak issue, so the development time would probably have been better spent on squashing every bug they could find and reproduce.Check out here for other long time bugs, but also the bottom of the page to see how many of them *do* get fixed. And I've been using this page only for the past two months to track such things. There are a lot of QoL bugs that *do* get fixed. Unfortunately, many are not game-breaking or don't affect a lot of people or occur randomly or occasionally... which puts them on the bottom of the to-do list.
And some of them have had attempts to be fixed, but they couldn't reproduce it, or couldn't find it, or couldn't figure out how to fix it, or thought they fixed it and the fix didn't stick. When such things happen, that's developer time that just went out the window. Developer time that could have been used creating new stuff. And so, such things get back-burnered until a new round of bug-fixing time is rescheduled into the Dev workload.
Again, this is my personal opinion, and I'm not directing any disrespect toward the development team. As a whole, I feel they do a fine job, and in I16, they are giving us a lot of stuff we've been asking for for a long time. Just some difference of opinion on prioritization of development time here. -
What is up with bugs from years ago *STILL* not being fixed? Specifically, I refer to the toggle drop upon load screen and mission pointer on HUD bugs(do the Seer Marino arc in Mercy if you don't know what I mean). I know programming an MMO isn't as simple as most people claim, but the age of these bugs really makes me question whether Posi & Co are focusing on the right issues at this point in time.
Not gonna make some dramatic threat to bail on CoX, but for me, QoL is gonna be a deciding factor on whether I remain here, or move to/stick to CO for the near future. Ancient bugs going unfixed shows somewhat of a disregard for QoL. -
Quote:One point you are missing is personal DPS vs contribution to the team. While a Scrapper's personal DPS will eclipse that of a Defender, the DPS and/or survivability that the entire raid gains from the Defender adds up to significantly more than the difference in personal DPS between the two. Make of it what you will, but adding another Defender to a team is almost always more useful than adding another Scrapper. That is a truth with some pretty hefty modifications. A Spines Scrapper for instance brings more to a team in terms of AoE damage than all Blaster primaries except Fire and Archery. While being much better than all vs. single targets (possibly except Fire). Since Scrappers faceplant a lot less, they are able to make good on their damage potential when Blasters often are not. In teams, a Scrapper can fill in the role as tanker/alpha absorber while also dealing out heavy punishment.
In a super team, only Plant/Fire/Illusion Rad/Kin controllers need apply. However, in practice you can't choose the perfect team composition. Scrappers then in general brings as much or more to a team than a Blaster...while also being solo gods able to take on AVs where as Blasters struggle against EBs.
Scrappers are balanced fairly vs. the stronger ATs in CoH: Controllers and Tankers. Who also are overpowered. Defenders and Blasters generally struggle to hold their own. -
My suggestion is to skip the gold class reward rolls and instead do bronze class rolls. You can get some fairly lucrative stuff, and you can often increase your profit by flipping the recipes you get.

Quote:I have noticed this is well, especially in the presence of an AE building or large population. I start the animation and then the character looks like it is having a seizure. I stopped using my mastermind because he travels via teleport and the animation chokes and I start falling before i can pull the next one off. I do run in windowed mode so I wonder if extra information is being sent to the client like the old chat bug?
Also when I'm around allot of players, powers like reveal and costume changes also get shortchanged. Perhaps power surpression need to be added to the entire AE building, Auction house, and Black market, a few protective drones in trade would be a compromise to activate toggles when ready to leave the area.
[insensitive *******]That said, it would make a dandy foundation to build an "Epileptic Fit" emote around.[/insensitive *******]

I haven't played WM, but I do have a BA/WP(very similar sets) at 50, and he's a ton of fun to play. I tend to play pretty aggressively while leveling, and somehow, this guy didn't have his first faceplant until his mid 20's, which is well beyond what I've experienced with any other character. And no, I don't use AE to level. This is all legit missions and street hunting.
-
While I do agree that AE has an impact on player quality at high levels, I don't feel that it's ruining the game. Games are supposed to be fun, and if people are having fun endlessly farming in AE, who are we to tell them they're doing it wrong?
Have fun playing the game the way you want to enjoy it. I'm certain you have people you can team up with if you're in the mood to group for the "real" content. Meanwhile, let the AE'ers have fun playing the game they want to play it. If you run into one in a team of yours that is a truly terrible player, simply kick them from the team. Or if the team is being led by one of the terrible players, move on and find a better team.
Bottom line: If someone is having fun in the game, they're doing it right. -
I do hope when you refer to grain drinks, you don't mean the majority of vodkas out there. Most are distilled from grain, and are quite inferior to potato vodkas. Chopin being my preferred vodka, whether I sip it straight up, or have it on the rocks. The stuff is too good and too expensive to waste on mixed drinks.
And just in case anybody had ever wondered how to get that really hot Chinese mustard that burns your sinuses and makes your eyes water, don't bother with buying the prepared stuff at the grocery store. The trick is to buy Colman's mustard powder(the type that comes in a yellow tin in the spice section of the store), and mix equal parts powder and water(you can vary the proportions somewhat to adjust for your desired consistency) in a small bowl. Cover and let stand for ~10 minutes for the heat to develop. Only make as much as you want to use, since the heat will dissipate within a half hour or so. -
Don't worry. We're all in shape. Round is a shape, right?
Between love of video games, beer, and grilling, I retain my shape quite nicely. -
Hmm, I've never tried clarifying butter. Learn something new every day.

I'm going to have to disagree with Tourettes. Resistance by itself is most certainly NOT 10 times better than Defense. Not in terms of TTL(Time To Live), nor in terms of avoiding nasty effects from stuff.
At soft cap, Defense tends to outperform Resistance, particularly in the absence of +HP.
All this said, Defense-based builds tend to mature later than Resist-based builds, and are typically a bit more expensive to get the most out of.
/EA is weak right now, thanks to some glaring holes in it. And EM is somewhat underwhelming as a primary to pair with it, thanks to the animation time nerfs. Not a terrible primary, but there are others that do comparable ST damage, far superior AoE damage, and have greater mitigation. My EM/EA is shelved pending improvements to one or both sets. -
Until/unless the forum restricts posting privileges based upon rep (yes, I've been to forums that don't let people with no/low rep post in or read some sections
), rep is worth exactly as much as you let it be worth to you.
Personally, I find it better to judge people based on what they say, rather than what somebody else says about them, so the system doesn't mean much to me. -
I'm still uncertain as to why the new boards were deemed necessary. Old ones may have been slow from time to time, but at least stuff *worked*. Sure, it's nice having our European brethren under the same roof, but couldn't that have been accomplished without breaking pretty much everything else?
-
I'll give that a try, though I'm out of garlic cloves. That said, I do have a jar of minced garlic, now that I think about it. That would probably work well enough.
These steaks are in rough shape, but the worst case is that they'll still probably be better than what I used to eat from Army chow halls.
Thanks for the input. And I welcome ideas from anybody who knows a good way to get a non-congealing sort of butter for marinades, etc. -
No, not an IO recipe.....for cooking....
Anybody know a good way to make a garlic butter marinade that won't congeal in the fridge? I'm looking for a way to save some freezer-burnt steaks that doesn't involve my tried and true Coca-Cola/BBQ sauce method.
Was thinking possibly some of that butter-flavored powder meant for baked potatoes along with garlic powder and olive oil, but I'm open to suggestions. -
you can always click buffs off if you don't like them....
-
Best wishes and here's hoping we'll bump into each other in some other MMO down the road.

If you mostly solo, I'd say the Scrapper would be your best bet. But if you team much, especially with buffers, Brute is going to be more powerful overall. Just be certain to allocate some slots in RttC for taunt duration to help your Fury gen.
