Sorry you total misunderstood my comment. Also, I did not burn any respecs. I have not needed them. When I started this character perma-unstoppable EXISTED and was well known and commonly played. That was always the end goal of my build. That is how the game was when I bought it. I built my character to do that ability. Again my playstyle and a choice I had. I focused on attacks (being a scrapper) and not running all kinds of defenses. Was it hard in the beginning sure, but that was my choice and my playstyle. Now I have perma-unstoppable as a main stay of my defense and have spent most slots on attacks. I can't do that anymore and I have no respecs because I have not needed them. Now I have to see if someone will PL me through the lvl 44 respec today so I can keep playing. I have not done the respec because I did not need it.

Again I created this character based on the options at the time I bought it and found this class to best fit my playstyle. So you can quite with all your curse words and focus on the fact that my character was built to perfectly match my playstyle. The fact that you have to respec your character to make the DEVS happy is still absurd I think.

Yes, there are some bugs - that's inevitable. Typos, etc. A team gathers these from the forums, puts them in the database, and then we have at them.

But sometimes a bug isn't serious enough to hold up a release - that's when we decide to go live with something. We know that there might be some niggling details to address over the next few weeks.

As for the Invulnerability, Kheldian, Burn, etc. feedback - all of it was read and considered. We were pleased with the data we received and thought that the changes met our goals. That isn't to say that we might not tweak these things further - but by and large, we are happy with the changes.

You are making a *very* large assumption that everyone at Cryptic got two weeks off for the holidays.

*Statesman* got back like Thursday last week. Don't take that to mean everyone got that much time off (if he even did.)

Still here, even after all this time!

Please add me to the keep up the good work list. issue 2 was awesome. I can't wait to get home and play issue 3.

Devs, thank you for all your hard work. Don't take the noise to badly. There will always be some people you just can't make happy.

Really I agree about typos and bad string tables, but the ones involving defense and specifically Toxic protection are the most inexcusable if they were not addressed.

Toxic protection will be practically required with all the Vahz missions you get through level 20, heck 2 whole story arcs involve Vahz. And 90% of their attacks will be Toxic. Very bad choice considering you just got an influx of new players.

And Energy Absorbtion is they key/crux power for Ice Armor, granted Ice got a boost, but the EA bug is a serious one.

I also think that blinkies not making noise is a terrible bug, sometimes they're darn impossible to see.

Not to mention the Global Chat and Respec situation... Would it have hurt to hold back release by one week? We've waited since November, whats one more week to get us fewer bugs and some actual feed back on the last couple weeks worth of testing?

Oh Perma Unstoppable was taking away. Guess what Jack that was a save your [censored] power not a mainstay. The lower level powers you first took where meant to be the mainstays. The later powers are mostly if you bother to look at them nice to have but they aren't mainstays.

[/ QUOTE ]

Then what about power like Granite Armor?
Not a mainstay?
or EVERY level 32 pet power in the controller ATs?
Defenders too... Dark Servant now is nice with new Fear effect.
Fulcrum Shift, according to posters, is nice
EM Pulse.. again, posters have bragged
And all those nice attack powers for at level 32 for scrappers

These powers seem like mainstays... I'm not saying everyone has mainstay level 32 powers but a lot do. Why can't invuls? just bring it down a bit not change it completely.

If I remember correctly, a bug was found over a week ago that all powers mentioned above gave resistance to Toxic attacks. Look for a thread in the test server about it.

Now, this *ought* to be just a simple change to correct, so I hope to see a fairly quick patch.

To build upon my reply to Termight's assumption-laden post (I don't want to be an @ss, so don't make an @ss out of both of us... remember the old saying)... I have never made a character for ONE power.

I have an invuln/SS tanker, because I liked the prospect of not dying. This change will hit me, but I'm one of the few that recognize it was needed. I play an energy/dev blaster because I love the idea of devices... auto-turret, tripmine, caltrops... I get to make a blaster / trap-layer. I made a regen scrapper because I wanted ONE character that would never have endurance issues. So, in that sense, I guess I based that entire character around Quick Recovery and Stamina. Shame on me.

I have an earth/storm controller because the lockdowns, and pets seemed appealing to me.

In short, no I have never made a character because I've heard that "OMG this power, when on constantly, makes you a GOD". No... my reaction has never been to immediately run out and make the newest uber fotm character.

I play the character builds that I think are fun, for a variety of reasons (powersets, not single powers... backstory, theme, etc).

I didn't build Kript for Nova. I found out how uber Nova is at about lvl 28, when I first saw it in a team.

I am sorry but the build was not built around running multiple defenses but build around lots of offense attacks. My choice my playstyle. Nothing blind or ignorant about building a character around offense 1st and defense 2nd. (i.e Scrapper). If I could see the future and knew they would change the AT class this drastically then I would have played something different. I don't have that ability.

Those who think perma-unstoppable is the end all uber defense (you say GOD button) probably don't have the hundreds of hours in the post 40 game as an Inv scrapper. I am suppose to be knee deep in melee at all times. With it on I am ok against most melee foes (which I should be). I get hit hard by Psionics (Carnies, Rikti, Possessed Scientist, COT, clockworks, etc...) but that is the risk/reward of the AT. When it drops I have a very good chance of going to the hospital. Again, my playstyle enjoys the rush of trying to live for 5-10 seconds with 10% of my hitpoints and 0 endurance. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

A regen scrapper can have perma-MOG plus they don't care as much about defense with insta-heal. So should they take nerf healing from regens as they took defense ability away from invulnerability? I don't think so. Should they take pets away from controllers? Nova away from blasters? Stripping the invulnerability class of many defenses seriously changes the playstyle. I chose it based on the option when I bought the game but that has been taken away. Sorry you don't feel my pain but your playstyle is different than mine and that's what makes life fun. Trying to insult someones build, playstyle, etc.. that you know nothing about adds no value to the discussion. Everyone has a different build and different goals. This change hurts my playstyle and greatly changes the "fun" factor for me.

Um.... why would anyone have respeced at all necessarily? I did once, dropped one power I didn't like, and have never done the thing again. To suggest someone isn't a good player because they don't do respecs is silly.
