do you think +1 was a mistake... or a test?
I think the DEV team made the mistake of actually listening to the relatively small number (those who post) who said this game was too easy.
So we have patch #2 and a fresh batch of people who never posted before, begging for the good ole days.
Nah. They said it was a bug while trying to get rid of the frontloaded missions. I have no reason to think that they are lying to us considering the honesty I've seen up to now.
Mistake..perhaps...
Awesome..totally
The difficulty change was intended for levels 30 and up; I dont recall if 20 and up were supposed to be changed as well. I'm guessing that there was some profound connection between all levels and difficulty. So when things were changed it affected all levels. Or they wanted to change the difficulty for some low level missions and it affected them all.
And thats also why it hasn't been fixed yet for the low levels, because things are so intertwined and I'm guessing they can't fix one thing without breaking another.
I don't see a reason for them to have wanted to sneak in a difficulty increase at the low levels. I think it was generally agreed that things were working fine below level 20. And things slow down sufficiently in the later levels that it balances out with how quickly a hero can reach level 15-20.

If you connect the dots you can place Statesman in Roswell, NM in the 40s, AND at at the Kennedy Assasination, AND in the Nixon administration, AND he was Oliver Norths right hand man. I think he was in Cambodia too but I'm still researching that.
It was a palindrome. Wait, I mean a pun.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
It may have been a mistake, and I don't want to hose the game for lower level characters, but I've been absolutely loving the +1 level missions.
Before, missions were getting so boring, and giving terrible XP. I was teleporting past mobs because I was too BORED to fight them. But I still played them for the story line. Now, I get the story line (with better maps), and better XP for finishing missions and interesting fights and better XP for the fights! All in all, a great improvement for this 30th level Tanker!
Mission difficulty slider. It's the answer to make everyone happy.

Intentional.

Like Sundance42 said, this was a bug created when they fixed the front loaded mission. This has already been confirmed a couple times on the boards by Stateman, if I remember correctly. They will be fixing it.

They realized that a lot of high lvl heroes were just idiots who grinded and had no idea of team mechanics, so they decided to end it all by raising the difficulty right from the start!!!
Cryptic hates all of you!!!
Intentional. There is no way this was "undiscovered" on the test server. It is way too obvious.

Nope. The real reason is that we got rid of front loaded missions and this caused a bug.
I'm a big fan of the harder missions, but I'm higher up on the scale than most of the pre-20's who are complaining... if they can tweak things to keep the frequent +1's for higher level players, I'd be happy... but I can see where lower level players (who wish to solo, especially) may be getting burned.
But yes, I also believe this is a bug... they are still developing their fix for late content being too easy... maybe that increased HP thing they keep mentioning.

The funny thing is that the change seems to have "ended" soloing (ie. made it more difficult) AT the start, but has had no measurable effect on soloing in the upper game. Lvl 27 BS/regen scrapper and lvl 35 MA/SR scrapper are not feeling a pinch at all (though the higher xp for missions are nice, they are feelnig that, to be sure). Heck with the new MA animations, she is blazing through mobs at an increased rate, and made her last two levels this past weekend, which is far faster than I could advance the character until Issue 2.
The lvl 17 Emp/Dark defender is fine, but she was built for group play (can solo pretty good if careful, though).
The level 13 Blaster is insanely boring trying to claw his way to 14 so he can Fly. The lvl 10 Katana/Inv scrapper is doing well, so it may be that Scrappers are just the new uber class, though I will say he would not tackle the Outcast bases mission alone.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
go statement!
How about an ETA on the fix, or at least when it will appear on the test server.
It's already being worked on on the Test Server.

and thank goodness they are taking it back...I don't mind it...but people who have lower tolerance for debt are pissed...the other issue is that I am level 32 so I don't notice it. with my level 12 toon I can't even play him....VERY TOUGH!

Maybe not lying per se, but the whole situation casts a lot of doubt on credibility. For instance... in testing patch notes say the fix is on the Training Room. It is not!
Then do this if you see problems on test after the +1 fix comes out. REPORT IT. You know, /bug. Let the devs know so you all can stop complaining and thinking this was done on purpose.
This was an unintenial side effect to getting ride of front loaded missions. Deal with it. Nothing is perfect. Random bugs occur.

Personally, i would think fixing this would be the highest priority. I have to wonder how many new people are being turned off to this game that don't come to the forums to find out it is a bug.
How many newbies a day is this bug costing?
hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm?
