Hey there, all.
I sorted, labeled, and dumped my screen shots up onto my flickr account. They're set up in branching collections if anyone feels like checking them out.
I've been around since Beta, so there's some old stuff kicking around in there... some old server events, and a lot of material from my SG.
More interesting may be the NPC gallery... they're just clean/cool shots of AVs, Minions, and the like... plus some picturesque zone shots... whatever I had.
Anyway, feel free to check it out... if you've got a flickr account of your own, I'd love to add you to my contacts and read any comments you may have.

Thanks a lot for the great pic!
We're all real happy with how it came out, and you were all great to work with. We'll be posting more about it in the Guardian forum as well as featuring it on our site in the near future.
Keep up the good work! -
Deathsurge used to be relatively easy (before the change that's being augmented). But yes, he counts as, I believe, 25 gremins.

for brute mu lightning, if i can 3 slot end mod, 2-3 slot recharge and set to auto how much end will i get net recovered? will it be a net loss or gain?
[/ QUOTE ]
It will be a net gain, as my unslotted Mu Lightning on my brute is certainly a net gain. It doesn't always recover endurance, obviously, so it's not something that can absolutely be counted on, but I did choose it based solely on its +END properties.
(I don't have the exact numbers, just the visual) -
Yes, I use gladiators... I enjoy the battles a lot.

Has anyone mentioned the old Zookeeper badge requirements?
Did you know... the Zookeeper badge originally had an error which required ten thousand Rikti monkeys to be killed before the badge could be achieved? Since Zookeeper is a requirement for a popular accolade, this resulted in monkey farming teams running marathon sessions against the psychic, gas-spewing Rikti underlings on an island off the main Peregrine Island which came to be known as Monkey Island.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Rikti Monkies weren't psychic (well maybe psychotic) with the old Zookeeper badge. The Monkies picked up their Psychic Dart attack when the counted was dropped down.
And I still want a badge called Monkey Herder for all us who had to get 10,000 of the [censoted] little pests. I too went through marathon herding sessions on Monkey Island in Peregrine. Yes, the only time Fuzun actually herded. I'd round up 1/2 of the island for a extended AoE smack down session. So many monkeys my graphic card couldn't render them all. (And I succumbed to the Monkey gas a couple of times. Oh the humility of it. A Tanker sefeated by Monkey farts...)
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh no, they definitely had psionic attacks before the count was dropped. I too spend the better part of an afternoon on a herding team of 8 rounding up the little buggers on Monkey Island with my INV tank. With no psi protection at all I needed my own personal empath to keep me alive. Since I don't remember the monkeys ever not having psi attacks they must have gotten them in I3, which was right around the time I would have been in the correct level range to start dealing with Rikti.
The count was dropped when they instituted caps on AOEs. At only 16 mobs per attack it would be virtually impossible to get to 10,000.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are right. The count was dropped after the monkeys were given psychic attacks because of the increased difficulty. It may have been said that the changes were meant to go hand-in-hand, but they did not. -
I don't check out this forum as much as I should.
I'm in the process of re-writing a series of stories that were posted on my SG's forums. The folks I play with loved them, so once they're all bright and shiny, I'll have to slide em' on over to you. -
I really like the idea of unlockable contacts, but I think it would be far better if we did not outlevel them. Even if, as was the case when I did the spectral pirate arcs, the encounters are scaled down to their intended level.
I can't see something that gives players something to do upon achieving the endgame as a bad thing. I know a lot of people who badge hunt and explore more after hitting 40 (50 in CoH) and it's a shame that some really fun arcs will be missed. -
I've introduced the game to 4 non-MMO players who were happy for it, as they weren't going to check out the game otherwise... and my girlfriend's 8 yr old son.
The game 'can' appeal to people unfamiliar with the game, especially if they're even remotely into the comic hero genre.:-p -
That could be interesting. I'm looking forward to team battles myself.
-
I probably need to play a lot more before I can accurately comment on its shortcomings. I've played 1 on 1 and 3-player free-for-all, and both games were very fun.
I actually enjoy the choices we have each turn... the decision to move to a new combat tactic, to 'rest', to 'recharge' or to attack greatly effects how the game is played. Learning when to make use of these things seems to have a dramatic effect on gameplay. I'll have to check out more varied powersets before I feel like I have a real grasp on the game though. -

I just hope that it fairs better than the other Super-Hero CCGs that have come along over the past decade.
[/ QUOTE ]
I do too, but honestly, I see the fact that it is based on a computer game to be a big obsticle in the way of its success. I think that the best thing to do would be to offer to demo it at stores and the like so that people see that yes, indeed, it's a GOOD game!
I'd hate to see it die like others I've played in the past that were amazing... (sniffNETRUNNERsniff) -
I've seen it!!
Three tables and a lone chair are all that can be seen, lit by a solitary shaft of light that may as well come down from heaven itself. You blink, then he is there, framed in shadow: Statesman. His helmet gleams in that sacred light, his cape flapping slightly from a mysterious breeze.
He takes his seat, and in a single blur of movement, he conjures his decks from the ether, shuffles them, and places them neatly. This is all far too fast for the naked eye, but noone challenges the legality of it, for he is Statesman!
You then note it odd; no chairs are present for his would-be opponants. The reason soon becomes all too clear, as they are beaten long before their posteriours would ever hit cushon (if the cads who oppose him even deserve the nicities of a cushon).
Foe after foe steps up, and is promptly whisked away until they have had enough, then with a flash of Zeus's lightning, the incomperable Statesman takes to the sky... leaving you alone in the near darkness with only the smell of ozone and smoke to keep you company.
Ok... maybe I didn't see this.
Maybe I'm just crying out for attention...
But I'd bet that's exactly how he does it...
(looks longingly to the heavens) -
Yeah, this is the first CCG I've played where I've wanted to buy more Battle Packs than boosters. I hope my local store hasn't sold out of them...
(leers at Nekomusumi) -
Here's a question...
What are the largest team battles you have tried?
I'm trying a 2-on-2 this Friday (assuming we all show up), but I'm wondering if larger team play is viable/fun.
(Yeah, I guess I could ask this on the AEG boards, but I don't get to check them as often as these)
-
I taught 3 friends, my girlfriend, and one of her kids to play. They all love it (as do I), and 3 of them (my girlfriend included) don't play CCGs.
A few at the store I go to are also obsessed... enough that they'll be starting tournaments in a month or two. If anyone lives in the Southern NH- Northern MA area (or willing to travel), PM me and I can get you some info. -
I usually play a brute... I've simply had to learn ways to deal with them... build fury on the weaker ones, then enter combat with the warden with a nearly-full bar, using knockout blow, then my other attacks. With super-strength, I am usually able to chain knockdown enough to prevent a bulk of their attacks.
Longbow, at times, presents a decent challenge. I feel satisfied when I defeat them... if they were easy to walk over all the time, then what would be the use of fighting them? -
[ QUOTE ]
So if you think it's too tiresome to grind out the Marcones for the badge, then, uh, you don't have to tire yourself out getting it. You miss nothing.

Actually, I found the second arc amusingI'd do it again, given the chance.

[ QUOTE ]
This will mean I don't need Taunt any more, which is a net plus.
[/ QUOTE ]
So... what role do you see your tank being in?
Me? I like to protect my less-defended teammates by being able to hold the aggro of the things we're fighting.
I honestly hope people aren't abandoning taunt because they saw it as a herding tool and not a somewhat essential ability for an effective tank to have.
lol... boggles my mind a bit. -
For a while, I've been posting stories on the Twilight Crusaders' Fan Fiction forum (along with fellow SG-members). I was recently suggested to post links to these works here for anyone who gets bored and wants to check them out.
Some are written far better than others (especially some of the entries in my 'serial' stories), but all-in-all this was a good chance to get my head back into writing, which is something I used to do often.
You can see other work written by me (and other Twilight Crusaders) by browsing the forums these links will take you to. Have fun, and if you would like to comment, please do so here or in the "comments" thread on the TC forum
(links posted in suggested reading order)

I do believe the troll attacks add a HUGE measure of coolness to Skyway, which I had always looked at as a pretty lackluster zone. The chance of all hell breaking loose at any moment? Very nice.
-
I would love to see attacks that use a particular travel power as its base and actually animates your avatar when you activate it.
For instance:
Flying Charge: can only be used 10ft or more away, it makes you rush into your enemy, causing damage and knocking him back.
Running flurry: character runs around enemy in circles, dropping its accuracy and unleashing a DOT punching attack.
Super leap-squash or kick. - Activate from 10ft or more away and you auto-jump toward your enemy and land a blow.
These could be modified to cause more damage at greater distances (with some distance cap) or something similar.
Sound cool? -

Maybe the 'curse' isn't entirely related to being immortal or who they may be incarnetes of... perhaps and incarnate is, for some reason, required to -always- fight for whatever he/she/it believes in, and therefore unable to have a normal existance.
Statesman didn't seem the most social guy in the comics... which could very easily be because he's immortal and doesn't want to establish connections with people he will out live... but it could also be that he's somehow not 'allowed' these things, as he may also be the incarnate of a particular ideal as well (justice, perhaps) and cannot do anything but strive toward that end... meaning alienating others who might otherwise be friends.
Hehe, not sure I even buy into that theory, but it's another angle to consider, I guess.
edit: Ach!! I meant curSe... not cure -
I wish I had a link to back me up, but this is how I understood it:
To participate in base raids you need CoV
To just have a SG base, CoH itself will do.
