Anyway, in regards to Safeguard missions, I always thought that it would be kind of like cleaning up after a mayhem mission, with civilians trapped under rubble you'd have to destroy, putting out burning buildings, stopping villains who've taken advantage of the chaos to run wild in the streets.

    Ooooo!

    That sounds downright nifty!

    [/ QUOTE ]

yes it does!!! Read this states and Posi!!! Give the players what they want!

"Statesman: I would’ve thought that bases would have gotten more attention, to be honest."

Even if bases where free and everything thing in it , they would still be boring. Running from one side of the base to the other isn't going to make people stop playing WOW and other MMo's.

    Combo's
    Loot
    Skills
    Crafting

This would make COH/COV fun for me and would get players attention IMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

it never ceases to amaze me that WoW type fantasy gamers STILL come in here asking to have all those garbage things from their hack n slash games brought in here. The *LACK* of loot, crafting, and skills is what makes CoH such a breath of fresh air compared to that tired old Diablo formula. Please go to WoW if you like that stuff, or break your keyboard, or forget your forum password.

[/ QUOTE ]Nice , I see somone needs to go back under there bridge.

Anyways , My angry little trollet above me mentioned, "The *LACK* of loot, crafting, and skills is what makes CoH such a breath of fresh air "

That might be true for the 5 or 10 people in this game , but some people would like to do more.

    this is nothing but flamebait...

    don't feed the trolls

Don't worry, the devs don't read this board

    I wouldn't say that.

  4. Has anyone actually leveled to 50 and received all of the patron powers. I mean there are a lot of stats...but practically no actual play testing beyond the first 2 powers. Any level 50 doms with some feedback?
  5. I guess I get the feeling that the PPP as they pertain to Doms do not take our major weaknesses into account like the APPs do...especially for our cousins..the controllers. My mind/storm controller had many needs...at 41 I had many options...dps, self-heal, end reduction...something for everyone which dealt with some of our glaring weaknesses.

For doms...I see a bunch of PPPs which are all pretty indistinguishable from one another other than graphics and provide no mezz protection (which we desperately) need. In addition they add pets...which only mind doms would really care about. I am with the above poster...I would rather have mezz protection than a weak shield. I am going to go to 50 in the pools...and wait for them to clear this mess up and issue 8 and then pick a patron.

Do note today's change in pets accepting recharge. This change alone is huge IMO. It makes the sets much more useful to me in PvE, which is what I care about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah this changes a lot for me. However, I honestly am still underwhelmed by GW dominator pet.....conceptually it works as I am a mind/psi dominator and the seer is psi damage as well, however in PvE my weaknesses are hers...

  8. anyone get to 50 yet? I am very curious to see how the pets play out in this thing?
  9. Thanks for the guide...this really helps me coming back to the game with a 35 controller coming up on level 41 fast...
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I have nothing but optimism for these vaguely announced changes. Why? Because there is nothing they can do to make my Mind Controller any worse. It can only get better from here.

    [/ QUOTE ]

exactly! I have been gone since november.....came back and my Mind Controller has had no changes, with the exception of fear! Where's my legit 9th power?!?! Still need a group to play for the most part....yes...I am the lock commander...now give me a lil damage please?

    Being an exemplar doesn't suck.

    [/ QUOTE ]

word! I mean you pay off debt at your actual level. So if I have 40k of debt I can help a level 12 with some 2-3 doors and pay off all of my debt. The run bug sucks...but I can pay off debt and help a noob at the same time! This is wonderful....

I think the DEV team made the mistake of actually listening to the relatively small number (those who post) who said this game was too easy.

So we have patch #2 and a fresh batch of people who never posted before, begging for the good ole days.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you are 100% correct!

and thank goodness they are taking it back...I don't mind it...but people who have lower tolerance for debt are pissed...the other issue is that I am level 32 so I don't notice it. with my level 12 toon I can't even play him....VERY TOUGH!
  13. anyone, anyone, bueller bueller?

Fellow heroes, disturbing information has come to light. [ . . .] We believe that this will occur at some point over the next several days, but the authorities are not yet sure. All heroes should be on the look out for anything strange in the city. Be on guard; we have reason to believe that this bodes ill for our metropolis.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah and the big event would be a painting of a krayt dragon

Hmmmm . . . I wonder if SOE has offered to buy out NSoft and will now take over development of COH. Stateman's description would seem to fit such a scenario!

  15. ok...only a matter of time with this games success!! I went to the SWG fanfest and it was off the chain...even though the game sucks......

Are the devs actively planning one or thinking of it?
  16. “LOOK around you! Take a LOOK at OUR WORLD! The Great Heroes died in the flames of the Rickti War. Only a handful survived, and they have become old and decrepit, attempting to train the latest generation. But the latest generation cannot hack it. Criminals swarm the streets, crazed mechanical monstrosities scour the zones, and undead shamble through the sewers. This is OUR WORLD.

The horrid truth is that our world is MIRED in FILTH, and no one, NO ONE! has the ABILITY, the DESIRE, or the COMMITMENT to fully undertake such a mammoth task…except for us.

The old heroes are dead! This is why we...the HUNTERS...will take it upon ourselves to keep Paragon City safe! We will accomplish our goals through commitment and adherence to our strict code! No individual is greater than the group! No Hunter is above the CODE!

The Old Heroes died because they were ALONE. They could not form a single, solid entity of strict JUSTICE. OUR Justice will be STRICT, RIGHTEOUS, and WITHOUT MERCY. That FILTH that swarms our streets will FEAR our JUSTICE. We HUNTERS will not be HINDERED by archaic notions of compassion, pity OR forgiveness, for the TRASH that DEMANDS our justice deserves NO quarter!

HUNTERS will make a difference. We will BEAT the criminals OUT of the streets! We will THRASH the metal marauders BACK into the Junk Heap! And we will PUT the Undead back into their graves…PERMANENTLY.

    STRENGTH
    TEAMWORK
    DISCIPLINE
    COMMITMENT
These are our rules. These are our standards. These are the foundations of the HUNT.”

-Speech made by Hunter Colonel – leading member of H.U.N.T.E.R. (Heroes United Neutralization Team – Elite Regiment) during a H.U.N.T. training session. Recorded by undisclosed media source.

A relative new-comer to the scene of “Aggressive Crime Prevention”, the H.U.N.T.E.R. group is a frightening sight of discipline and precision. Armed with the latest technology, and trained to the highest possible physical level, these ACP Operatives are taking the fight back to the criminals.
Our sources have managed to discover a few interesting facts about the H.U.N.T.E.R.s.

    • They are extremely selective in their choice of members. Only the most rigorous and diligent of personalities can join their ranks.

    • They were formed sometime recently – although there is no exact date, they were definitely formed after the Rickti Invasion.

    • The true identities, beyond call-signs, of the Hunters are completely unknown.

    • They are armed with the latest assault rifles manufactured by an unknown source – how the Hunters purchase weapons and supplies, from which source, and over what routes, is completely unknown.

    • They seem to be organized with a military style hierarchy. So far, Hunter Colonel and Hunter Captain appear to be the top two ranking officers of the group. It is not known if there is a higher authority pulling the strings from the background.

    • Reports thus far, have placed the Hunter’s Operating Zone in or near Galaxy City, but there are reports of Hunters in other Zones of Paragon City.

    • The group is extremely ambitious, and not shy of aggressively “Hunting” criminals. It should be noted that the Hunters are less interested in protecting civilians than bagging criminals. CAUTION SHOULD BE TAKEN if you happen to run into a Hunting Party!!

It is expected to see more of this group as the battle against crime continues to blaze across Paragon City.
