And I did a search, this is in fact Manticore's first post...

Hey, you ever gonna fix your Task Force, you come off as kinda unreliable, man.

I've seen him post before I'm pretty sure. Search isn't very reliable.

Yeah youre right, he has 8 posts, so somewhere he has, but I still think he could be Statesman's alt. We all have them so why wouldnt he?

I've been on this band wagon a while now. Dance club in Issue 2 of game and in Issue 3 of comic. I think that sometimes the comic is just as good a resource for finding out coming features as the forums.

And in issue 4 of the comic, everyone is mezzed for a long time... Just like in Issue 2 of the game!
It tells the future!

I'm going with Surface World vs Undersea kingdom here.

Prince Namor, The Sub-Mariner is Statesman's all time fave superhero and it fits with the Title showing up in Treasure Island.

States also said that we would have Underwater zones before too long.

Booyackasha!

Well, issue two was called "A Shadow of the Past", which just so happened to be the title of the second chapter of "The Fellowship of the Ring". Oh, and "Eastgate" is referenced as being part of Moria in the world of LoTR.

So, going by the theory that the chapter titles refer to great works of literature, I did a little research into the new title: Issue 3 A Council of War.

The only thing I could come up with is Treasure Island. Chapter 12 (1 plus 2 equals 3?) of Treasure Island is called Council of War.

So, is this title a hint at the possibility of a water zone? Perhaps pirate villains? Or some sort of treasure?

Just some speculation I'll put out there. Enjoy.

Very astute.

Hey Manticore! I did your TF 6 times. Where's my badge?

Anyone else notice that the newspaper article about the new villain, the lead villain in City of Villains, the spider guy, is titled "A Shadow of the Past". The article said it was a forshadow of things to come. My theory, issue 3 will be the update which allows us heroes to play with CoV players and will more than likely come out shortly before release of CoV, perhaps a month or two as a sort of teaser for CoV. Also I believe beta CoV players will be able to play against us on the test server. The CoV will go live, with update 4, or maybe just a large patch which will connect us both, but more than likely update 4 as I forsee them adding new kinds of missions (ei pvp missions) and probably a few more teaser bits for those of us who haven't purchased CoV.

Just what I would do anyway, but my name assumptions stand.

Great analysis. Based on your post and this

JIVE: Is there going to be an expansion of the system to allow for more esoteric characters like Mr Fantastic or Aquaman or Green Arrow?

Jack: We will be covering those bases. For instance, archery will probably be in expansion ... in a ... in an expansion coming soon. That'll be available to blasters and defenders, whereas powers like Aquaman will be an epic archetype, which means that you have to do something to earn that slot. My favorite hero is Prince Namor.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm betting the new epic AT is Namor-ish. States made a "uncommon" superman reference. Was there an underwater supes?

I will cancel my account if they don't have shoulder parrots and monkeys and peg legs in the next expansion.

And don't even think of nerfing my hook!

Finally! A chance to live out my dream of being a flying pirate ninja.

Okay, so if Atlantis or Lemuria suddenly appears to wage war on the surface world, I'll be bummed. (Aside from the fact that it'll be more of a rip-off than an homage, because it'll be such a direct theft.) I have a character I quite enjoy called Sea King, who is the sovereign of Lemuria. I have a feeling that his story is soon to become more complicated...

Statesman has mentioned before afirmatively to the posibility of underwater areas AND giving more content to the huge bodies of water in talos and indi port.... he also expressed how much he wants to add more ninja and pirate stuff to the uniform designer....

Or, it could be the lost civizilation of Mu come back to take revenge on the Orenbegans for cheating in the war between the two of them and getting a demon to destroy Mu. That would make me happy. Especally if they sailed in to Independance Port on a sinking ship ala Jack Sparrow.

Two words...Deep Ones.

Sorry, Lovecraft Geek.

I'm going to try to talk Statesman into naming the next one: Issue 4: Everyone Dies and the World Explodes.

Just to see the reaction

I await the aquaman power set.

Soon we shal see Dolphins flopping along the streets of Atlas park coming to slap the heck out of a Hellion.

Of course the level 32 power will be dropping blue whales out of the sky on groups of enemies.

One of the hold powers could be spawning a octipus to entangle the legs.
