I have a level 34 and a level 31 toon as well as a ton of alts, and I never ever saw ANY monster. So yes, making them spawn more often seems like a good idea.
Just a short question: At which lvl can I try to take down the the guy in DA? I saw its a lvl 29 monster, I am 30 now. Possible for a blaster?

The ocassional big huge nasty thing just suddenly appearing...anywhere would SO rock. I would love to see a lvl5 thing that has like 5000 HP and tries to level Galaxy/Atlas so that the lowbees could taste the goodness too, even if they have to gang to **** it...

Not sure . I solo'ed him with my 32 DM/DA scrapper but it took a good long while and a full tray of insperations to do it.

an easy way to get kraken to spawn, kill lots an lots an lots of the hydras.... I took my 32 blaster and spam killed the entire lake for 15 minutes.... kraken spawned 5 time within the next half hour

That is somewhat of an exaggeration - he is nowhere near 5 times bigger than totems - 1.5, 2 times tops. Whereas totems are pretty much surrounded in flames, only Adamastor's eyes glow enough to make him out at a distance - and he doesn't float, he walks. I found him twice yesterday on two separate excursions to DA. Both times was in Moth Cemetary by the East boundary wall (well a bit in from it - he was wondering just outside the edge of the cemetary wall).
It's probably worth sending a broadcast if you do spot him as there are plenty of people wanting his badge. A single lvl 30 blaster will probably have a hard time taking down a lvl 29 monster (he conned yellow to me as a lvl 33).

I remember vaguely when they pulled Babbage, it was before Issue #1 went live. I think they didn't bother with his spawn back then because there was no pressing need for a non-TF spawn of him like there is now.

I am not using a cheat and Adamastor is VERY easy to spot even from halfway across the zone. That's how I first found him on the test server, and how I spotted him again on live a few nights ago.
Older video cards like the GeForce 2 do not handle the fog of Dark Astoria properly (at least mine doesn't). Mobs, doors, and various bits of foliage are not fogged out like the rest of the scenery, so they are often visible more clearly and at larger distances. Given Adamastor's size, that is even more true.
I think I have some screenshots of me spotting him from huge distances which I could post, but I'm at work right now.

Yes, Adamastor can be seen from a distance. And he spawns often enough.
And, yeah, babbage is skyway is part of TFs.
I've NEVER ever seen the Kraken, though, and I really, really want the photo op. Am I right in understanding what someone just said-- it just takes a high kill intensity to make him spawn?
And, what do you want from people aside from "We're trying" ? Take people at their word, and if they're not hardcore enough for you, find somebody you think is.
Still, and all, I'd be happy if all the monsters spawned frequently, frequently, frequently.

Adamastor was trivially easy, though a VERY long kill, as a 31 tanker. I had the support of an END-battery in the form of a empathy healer, which helped, but didn't appear to be necessary. Stamina is suffcient.

Babbage used to spawn in Boomtown. My teammates and friends have screenshots as evidence of this. He is not spawning there right now.
My comment is, Babbage has historically roamed in Boomtown and yet I have never seen Babbage in Boomtown. And yet I have seen Babbage many times, charging down the streets of Skyway, where he is supposed to spawn only when needed for a Synapse task force.

But when you see him thru the distance, you see him "float" in the blackness that is Dark Astoria. I'm sure he's walking, but in the pitch-blackness of the map, his "glowing" figure is more evident.
And all the times I've seen him, his back is to me. I see the large orangy body, not the eyes.

I agree. I sent a broadcast to the over 10 players that were on the map, but only one answered my call. Adamastor was a nice blue to my level 35 and gave no XP. but the badge was cool, though.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see an army of 10 of them rampaging through Boomtown. Hell, rampage a force of like 200 Clocks, lead by 10 Babbages and a CLockwork King down the streets of Steel some evening. You know... just to spice things up.

Amen brother! I think they should have monsters spawning in every zone. Even if its like once an hour. In random placesso theres no camping. It's just a lot more fun.

1)Kraken in PP
2)Adamastor in DA
3) Babbage in Boom<soon>
4)Jurasic in Eden
5)Big Malta Mech in either PI or FF<can't remember>

Kraken and Adamastor are spawning about 10 minutes after 1 dies ..
I watched several groups the other day kill about 10 Krakens, a couple times a Kraken would spawn before the corpse of the old one had rotted away ..
Adamastor was doing the same thing =)
