  1. The -Res proc is better, especially if you are going to be teaming because the -Res increases everybody's dmg and not just a random tick here or there

    EDIT

Ok now that I can see your build in Mids

    1. 2 slots is alot for a 2% dmg increase in amplify, I would just put a Rech IO in the default slot. The GSFC proc will rarely go off, 5% chance with every activation so hardly worth it.

    2. The impervium armor puts you above the rule of 5 for 2.5% end recovery, I would rather see tough slotted better and maybe add a Steadfast +3 def IO, easy defense for one slot

    3. If you are going to run the Cardiac core you could probably take that second slot from EF and use it elsewhere, maybe a Kismet proc in hover but largely up to you

    4. The added accuracy IO to howl would be more of a personal preference, I wouldn't do it and use the slot elsewhere.

    5. Also another personal preference of mine, Finding a way to fit in an APP armor would increase your survivability, my rad/son defender sits at about 42% range def and 69% S/L resist
  2. Just a few things I see

    1. I personally slot LR with 2 Acc IOs and 2 Rech IOs, others 1 Acc 2 Rech, or 2 Acc 1 rech either way it will save you slots. I assume you did that for the ranged defense, well you can take one slot from LR and put it in Radiant Aura and slot the full Numina set.

    2. If you are going to 6 slot AM you are better off with the efficacy adaptor set and getting that 5% rech bonus.

    3. In RI you can slot 4 darkwatcher despair for the 5% rech boost, and also slot an Achilles heel proc

    4. Put a Performance shifter +end into stamina

    Claws/wp help

I'm not sure if you are aware but you don't get the full defense effect from stealth when you attack or get hit. It suppresses down to 2.81% I believe

I suppose this wouldn't matter so much if you mostly solo or don't really care about AOE, but then you also miss out on Fire Blast which is almost as good as Smite for Damage/Anim.
I have to strongly disagree, on my DM/SD I need all the end I can get so body mastery is the way for me because I didn't want to go cardiac. As for having less AOE, SC + DC + SD is plenty of AOE for me especially when I know my main job is to hit hard targets hard. It really depends on play style in the end though. But saying they have no synergy is just silly.

IMO people don't go to the APPs for some added AOE, they go for what they feel they need the most.
  5. Nice video Aliana,

I have the feeling Werner, that you are correct in your thinking.

Why do I feel like something like this has become a weekly occurrence? Last week it was taunt auras, this week its invuln, and then there was Bunny...

Can't we all get along and be friends?
  6. As per most times I see a build like this I have to ask if you know that the Glad Armor +3 def and Shield Wall +3 res are doing to run you 2+ bill per?

As for your build on its own:

As a /sd your defense will come from the 3 positions melee/range/aoe which I believe you understand. The reason I mention this is because you have slotted Kinetic combats which are typically used for S/L, you would be better of slotting Touch of Death, Mako Bite, Oblit, Sirocco, etc. Also the reactive armors in true grit are enhancing mainly your type def not positional.

I would go back and try to get Melee/AOE/Ranged at around 45% and just change some of the slotting

I have both veng and mutation on my GM soloing build because I like to team as well, it is feasible. Also from my experience getting held is a tad annoying and having to retoggle EF and RI is also annoying, the time held is reduced thanks to AM, in my build I couldn't justify taking acrobatics for a mere 2 mag hold protection.

I agree that assault would help with dmg, i think mine runs a roughly 70ish percent dmg increase with assault + am + vig
  8. I would personally suggest building towards range defense, try for some AOE defense, and hover blast. GM's hit hard in melee and you have all of 17% resist to S/L. My rad/sonic has about 42% range def and 63% s/l resist.

The only GMs I have not solo'd are Jack and Lusca
  9. Thanks Broken, guess i must have typed something wrong but oh well...

Yea, the level shift made it easier compared to no level shift I'm sure. Whenever you get your T3/4 you should run it again and see how much faster it goes and how much easier it is. I for one would be interested to see the time and death difference.

Ok so if you don't need another AT to make up for shortcomings why are you complaining about dying due to a taunt aura? Shouldn't you be able to survive since you are so self-reliant?

Scrappers do have a point on a team... If you have a tank, a scrapper, and various squishies and the team gets overwhelmed that taunt aura may just save your teammates, and if you don't care and don't want to get killed because of your aura then...

    1. Don't use your power with a taunt aura
    2. Play a scrapper without a taunt aura
    3. Play something else
    4. Play all your spawns at x1 and don't team
  11. So I did too!

I got bored today and decided to make my own try at soloing an ITF with my DM/SD. I didn't use any insp but technically I did use my Raptor pack to get to platforms, so by technicality it wasn't no temp

Oh well doesn't matter to me.

The 2 deaths were from req on the third mission (ironically I came back and took both him and Rom at the same time) and then I had one death on the Final mish against the last Rom spawn when he had all of 970 hp left

    An Inquiry

    DM/SD
Smite>SL>Smite>MG and throw in the occasional Shield Charge and Dark Consumption when I'm teaming

    Claw/Sr
Follow Up>Focus>Slash with the -res proc in slash

    Just for fun

    Rad/Son Fender
Shriek>Scream>Shriek>Electric Fence cause it allows me to solo GMs

    Fire/MM Blast
No real attack chain, Fireball, Breath, and RoF when up, throw in Blaze and other ST attacks

Those are my 4 main toons, leveling up a Fire/Fire dom for AOE madness, so should be fun
  13. Just from a quick look

You could slot the full Eradication set in FSC to get the same bonus from 6 slotting PS in QR, you could then take 2 slots (or more) from QR and put 2 of them into CJ and slot LotG def and def/end which puts you at 44.86% def s/l without sacrificing any regen.
  14. Here is my build, it kinda got shelved after I made my DM/SD scrap. This build isn't update for inherent fitness, I know I respec'd and just picked up the medicine pool but can't seem to find the build for that, oh well here ya go.

Yea, I went on after this and found Babbage and Jurrasik to take them down too.

On the WL it was said how many minions he had spawned, literally looked like a snowman army

    Woot First GM

Well today I finally decided to solo a GM and came across a lone Winter Lord in Kings Row.

It killed me once (got held), but I took him down. Now hunting for more to try.

    This was on my Rad/Sonic
  17. What ^he^ said

    Also
    1. Phalanx fightings defense doesnt get enhanced so just a lotg +rech is enough or the Kismet
    2. If you are really going for the gold, slot AD more and use membranes for DDR
    3. You're over on the range and aoe def, you can sacrifice def points for other set bonuses
    4. If your going to run FA might as well slot 4 eradication's for the HP bonus than an acc bonus
  18. Well looking at it

    1. You skipped Phalanx Fighting which is a free 3.75 def
    2. Unless you have a large bankroll (considering you say you are new) PvP IOs are expensive more so than the Lotgs
    3. Not softcapped to melee and aoe (Yes with Parry but I personally wouldnt want to rely on it, tis why i didnt take it in my build)
    4. Hover and Fly a personal preference? Better off with combat jumping

Here is a build I made for my BS/SD thats sitting at 28, tried to make it cheap for myself because its not a toon I want to invest in very much

  19. The only time I have ever refused to SB somebody was when a Stone tank was talking about how legit and awesome he was and that he didn't need any buffs. He complained the entire time.

Tried to not change much, but the added defense will help survivability
  21. Just from looking it over (gotta go waste money on Tron)

    1. Slotting just Kinetic Combat in Slash and Swipe makes your accuracy pretty crappy, you would probably be better off just going for melee defense instead of S/L and skipping out on Kinetic Combats.

    2. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Panacea bonus of 7.5% recharge count the same as the lotg +rech, if so you are way over the rule of 5.

Overall I would say you could make a better build for a lot cheaper than those PvP IOs and Purples

Yea, whenever I team I usually use DC as some extra aoe with SC so teaming I have no problems with end (usually buffed as well) even with my travel power running. I just don't want to waste and kill my fodder with the dmg from DC when solo. I'm saving up shards and will probably go for the rare spiritual whenever it gets released and experiment with that since endurance is sustainable with only the Tier 2 Cardiac.

And awesome I got the epic clap gif from Sant, Christmas come early!!!

Your endurance consumptions is a bit high, and even though you have good recovery I'd probably try to find a way to bring it down a touch - that being said the cardiac alpha will probably do that for you.

A few changes you could make:

Since you only have 5 slots there, you might as well go for Armageddon in Dark Consumption instead of Obliteration.

Although I would actually 6 slot DC with Oblits at that point, and 5 slot armageddon in SC.

You can gain a very tiny amount of +resistance (1%) by slotting the Steadfast unique in Deflection - this costs you no extra slots.

If you needed 1 slot for anything, you could remove the +DEF piece from CJ and still remain softcapped. I'd be inclined to use it in Active Defense for a 3rd membrane, or to add an enzyme.

Other than that, it looks solid.

Yea, I realized that armageddon could be slotted after I had posted up this build and since this is how it stands live and will slot it when I acquire the funding.

I have the Tier 2 cardiac and pretty much have no endurance problems plus the extra resistance ~3% is always nice.

As for the other suggestions I like the switching of the steadfast (never realized that /facepalm) and as for the extra membrane/enzyme in AD how much benefit will I get from that exactly?

Also re-ran the pylon with this build and the cardiac alpha for a time of 3:47 (297 dps)

    Thanks Dues for the help!
  24. Hey!

Was hoping yall could give my dm/sd a good looking over and tell me if there is anything glaring wrong that i have messed up in my respec of this toon. End is a bit of an issue but typically only when I'm solo and facing an AV. (The cardiac tier 2 = never ending end). What I was also wondering is that with the higher spiritual slot would End be better with liberal use of CP if so would it sustain the end or is this just going to be something I need to test myself?

Thanks for any suggestions all criticism welcome.

    Active Defense

Quick question on slotting active defense with membranes

When you slot this with membranes is there a large difference if at all in DDR if the enhancement is even level compared to +1 or +2? If so how much of an increase?

Sorry in advance if this has been answered before and thanks for any responses
