The rocket board is kind of pricey but I'm glad I got it. There's just a lot of situations where I say "Gee I need to get to place X" and then I can whip out the rocket board. Handy little thing.

Quote:Please note the difference between a Speed Run and a quicker run. The former being an attempt to run the content as fast as humanly possible, the latter being an attempt to skip unnecessary parts of the content. This is the difference between a 15 minute ITF, a 45 minute ITF and a 2 hour ITF.
Potential TF descriptive names:
1. Speed run - "As fast as possible"
2. With Stealthing / Some Stealthing - "Stealth where possible/makes sense to"
3. Normal / kill most / XP / Shardy (for ITF) - Kill almost everything, stealth if the team gets bored and votes to stealth.
4. Kill all - Commitment to soaking up all XP available. -
Quote:I was definitely wondering about this myself. I wondered if we'd get into a situation where you could get 10 alignment merits in one day. I guess they're more careful with them than that.
You can though. Run the arc 10 times with 5 (or 10) different toons. Every VIP has at least 12 slots. Then buy stuffs and email yourself the proceeds. Want one toon to have a set of 5 LotG in one day? You can do it now.
Gotta wait a week of course for the next 5, but still, it's pretty sweet. Add in converting Merits and Tips missions and you can make quite a haul of Alignment Merits in one week. -
I soloed the new arc on my Shield Defense/War Mace Tanker, at +1/x3. She's 41, and exempted down to 30 for the so two of her nice AoEs are missing. She not Incarnated (obviously) and she's still on SOs, although I think she had the Steadfast +3% Def slotted.
Technique: Stand there and beat on stuff until it stays down.
I've also soloed the previous arc on my mastermind, my tanker, my widow, my brute, and my fort. Mostly it's easy. Mostly I just laugh at stuff and button mash until I win.
This last arc gave my Fort some trouble. Spoiler alerts....
Spoiler alerts......
The end boss seems resistant to Psi, which gave my Fort fits. I actually died once. And I forgot to pick up any Insp at the hospital, so I had to make do with the two useful Insp I had left and the three or four that dropped while killing the spawn.
Technique: jump around like mad and basically joust the boss. Do not let him close with you. Do the same to the rest of the spawn until it dies, then work on the boss. Ignore the natterlings. Hope to god you took Poison Dart and Dart Burst because the -Regen (and lethal, and toxic) in those attacks seemed to be the only things that debuffed him enough to kill. Besides that I used Subdue and Dominate on him as my best damage attacks.
In contrast, my SD/WM Tanker stood there, mashed everything including the end boss in a couple of minutes, and wasn't fazed by the higher levels or the increased spawn. -
Account = account wide = chose multiple times, once per character.
Character = for one character = choose once, period.
I do think the names are still a bit confusing. Account Items is ok, but Character is a bit unclear. "One Time Items" instead of Character Items? -
Quote:the timer is across ALL of the arcs, however each arc gives 1 freebie reward table first time through
I can definitely confirm this is the case. I did the first arc twice a couple of days ago. I was able to choose the Hero Merit the first time through, but not the second. First time's freebie, second one is on a 7 day timer. -
Quote:I wish there was a way of avoiding scanner missions now that the new (to me) introductory contacts have "gaps" in their story arcs.Quote:I have to say, I miss the heck out of the old Origins contact chains. The Twinshot arc is really fun, but I'd rather have some other people to go to once in a while.
I've said a few times that I'd pay $5 for an additional set of arcs for both red and blue side, to give me something else to level on. -
I try to be positive whenever possible, but this one has me scratching my head.
No I got nothing. Maybe re-purpose this as "Build Workshop & Third Party Tools." So we can support Mids with out directly supporting Mids. We could talk about RedTomax and ParagonWiki here too if desired. But mostly Mids. That's the best I can do. -
Agreed. Since there's a limit of 20 items right now, I'd like to see a limit of 20 items in your inbox. Once your inbox is "full" you can't be emailed any more items. This seems to preserve the limit of "20 storage" while allowing some more flexibility how we email stuff.

Here's a video someone made. In the second part, I believe you can see them use Spring Attack a couple of times.

Good filler but not as good as Shield Charge or Lighting Rod.

Really.
Also, all images in signatures that feature Mario, a competing game mascot, are banned. -
Quote:Right. It's a bonus freebie that I probably wont use, but nevertheless I'm glad to have just in case I might need it.I see your problem. You believe part of the $15 is buying a server transfer token you don't want rather than it being a bonus freebie that you don't want.
I see my $15 as a subscription to play the game, and as long as I get freebies on top of that, then that's fine. I'm not expecting to get all content in the game as well as $15 per month in store purchases. That, as someone else said, would just be bad business.
Here's an idea: those who are complaining about the free server transfer, go open a gas station. When you sell someone gas, also give them the same dollar amount in free groceries. Let's see how long you stay in business. -
Thanks for posting that, Finduilas. I really appreciate that esp. after I messed up the original build.
What would you recommend for an Alpha slot with your build? I was assuming I'd go Cardiac (one reason I wasn't paying too much attention to End Redux in the powers) but would it be possible to consider something else, like Nerve? -

Same. This showed up after the Tuesday maintenance. I just restarted COH eventually, and it went away. If this problem re-appears for anyone, I'd recommend that you head over to the developer forum, file a bug report, and PM Zwill about it. One time is no big deal imo and not worth fussing or bug-reporting over.

Quote:You've broadcasted for people to join the queue, right? Because that's the only way people learn to use something, is that someone tells them to do it that way.
I once told a DFB team that I was going to drop the team and enter via the queue, because I didn't want to have to run all the way to the zone they were in.
The leader replied, "You can do that?"
Yup, you can. I did, and it worked. So at least 5 other folks on Champion learned that day that's how the DFB really works. -
Yeah I lost all my level bumped characters. Not a huge deal, but it does inhibit my ability to test stuff. One at least had an "error" on it back from when Forts could take both Build Up and Aim. I would log it in periodically to make sure that that combo was still disabled.
Weird builds can find errors sometimes though. I thought it was good to have a few of those around. -
I'd assume they mean DFB, but a few probably don't know about it and are old timers actually thinking the sewers are still cool. Best to ask if you're not sure, you might help someone out.

Yes and yes.
I've brought toons over from Rogues Isles and Paragon City to both Nova Praetoria and First Ward. You can definitely bring any toon from there originally or who left Praetoria back. -
Yeah I think people are confusing the terms Free and Premium. I guess most other games that advertise hybrid model call their à la carte model Free. I've given up trying to correct people in in-game chat. Probably a loosing battle.
The difference between Free and Premium is only how much you spent anyway. Not a huge deal.
Hey, can we see what the reward level of a player is by inspecting their badges? You need the Trustworthy badge before you are a Premium, right? I just thought of that. Sorry if the answer's totally obvious to everyone else, sometimes my brain is like that. -
Quote:I requested today to drop down to free to play on my account, due to financial reasons, and it gave me a message saying i could never go back to VIP status.
Has anyone found this to be true? and is it possible to get VIP status back?
Yes. Once you leave City of Heroes, it will never take you back. It's bitter that you don't love it any more and there's no way to ever reconcile. Your money will never again be any good for it! It will also steal those CDs that you both liked and there'll be a big custody fight over the cat.
The end.
