  1. Hey Blaster people! I reactivated with Going Rogue not too long ago and kind of fell in love with Dual Pistols. The way they look, at least. The ammo swap seems pretty cool too. Anyways, I was looking for some suggestions for secondaries. Only thing I have to say is that I don't like Devices (doesn't fit my concept) and I've done Ice before. Ideas?? Advice? Free food?

    Thanks!
  2. Ever thought of turning your Max Particle Count down? Probably wouldn't help in all occasions, but it would certainly help *cough*fire*cough*
  3. Awesome! Too bad that's parent weekend at the University... oh well, I'm sure they won't understand, but I'll pretend they do anyways. And it's almost 4 days, woohoo!

    Claws/Fiery Aura

This was my Claws Brute of choice. Just hit level 30 and she's beginning to absolutely tear through things. Naturally I began thinking of how she'd end up at 50 and what IO's I would use, so I began playing around with Mids'. I can't figure out a build, let alone an IO build, for the life of me. I hit the following roadblocks:

-Consume. Yes or no? Claws are pretty endurance lite, but I don't know how things will be once I pick up the fighting pool as well as Shockwave.

-IO Goals. I've been told (in-game) that going for positional defense would be the best idea, but I've also been told going for a "ton" of recharge would be better. I haz confusion.

-Burn. Yes or no? I love Burn, and I'm considering pairing it with Electric Fences (they can't run if they can't move). But could I get on without it? Will it be legitimately useful or just a back-pocket panic power? (Alliteration FTW).

-Knockback. Right now I've got the Steadfast Protection IO doing the job. But is mag 4 protection enough? Should I blow millions on a Zephyr IO or should I go with Acrobatics? (Super Jump is my travel power).

Any advice is appreciated. Builds would be nice, but all I really want is help with those 4 problems. Sorry I can't post my build, had to uninstall Mids' =/
  5. I have a Claws/Fiery Aura Brute that is currently level 21. She's pretty fun to play, but can be a bit squishy. I've yet to get Blazing Aura or Focus (I just HAD to get Stamina at 20), but they're coming soon... along with SOs. Should be a fun time.
  6. Well, isn't that just special?
Oh well, doesn't seem too bad; Fury still gets you up there in damage.
  7. Haha, that's hilarious. Doooooo it! Just make it on another server where the dumb Fire/Kin kid isn't. (Plus, Broad Sword FTW!)

Can't you only get purples if you're fighting level 50 enemies? At -1 they'd be 49, so no purple. Unless they've changed it recently.

Not sure. But a good rule of thumb is that anything from the Mind Control powerset is not positional, only Psionic.
  10. Most of us were probably on Invincible before, but what are we now? I made an attempt at +4, x8 players... ouch. That's got more of a kick than the old Invincible (granted I was fighting Paragon Protectors). I settled on +2, x6 players. Not too easy, but not impossible. This was on my main, a near-completely IO'd (no purples) BS/WP. So tell me, Scrapper boards, what's YOUR difficulty?

    As always, emu.
  11. WP, Invuln and SR are probably the best Scrapper "tanking" sets and probably in that order. WP can outlive some Tankers, Invuln is great with anything but Psionic and SR is good softcapped (you're screwed if hit, though).

But referring to the OP, Invuln is -great- at soaking up damage and is only barely beaten out by WP. It's not ludicrous at all. In your build, go for enough defense so that you're softcapped with X (being your choice) of mobs near you and then shoot for resistances, regen or max HP (that is also your choice). But in my opinion, defense should come first.
  12. I'm going to vote WP/SS. Willpower is nearly as tough as Stone without all of the lamesauce that comes with Granite. And SS is just awesome because of Rage (which makes you into a Scranker sorta thing in terms of damage). Plus the two fit nicely together in terms of concept.

Fiery Aura would be interesting too.... 2 build ups on a stalker ftw?
All I can say is that Burn from Hide would be hilarious! But seriously, FA would probably go through some pretty drastic changes if it was put on Stalkers.
  14. I'm not too familiar with a Stalker's Dual Blades, but you can EASILY skip Elude from SR. Once you're softcapped, it does nothing but make End come back faster (and make you run and jump a bit faster). And that isn't worth its nuke-like crash.

    Spines

So with I16 coming soon (TM, of course), I've become quite interested in the Spines set. But my none of my Spines concepts fit the hero mold, so I decided I might try a Stalker with Spines. So I looked at Player Guides to give me a good idea as to what might work as a secondary, etc. Yeah... there's only one guide (which is honestly not that helpful). So now I turn to you, Stalker boards. What might go well with Spines? Not to be picky, but I'd like to stay away from Super Reflexes, Regeneration (largely because I've gotten a /Regen Stalker to 50 before) and Energy Aura. If anyone's got some general Spines Stalking advice/words of wisdom, that's cool too.
  16. While Fiery Aura may -look- the part, I would go with Invulnerability instead. It makes more sense. Yes, bullets DID bounce off of them, etc. And there was nothing Fiery about their golden auras, it just made things blow away when they got angry.
  17. My vote is for Spines/Dark/Dark. Spines slows them down, which is kinda controllish. /Dark has Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear, as you mentioned. And Dark as an Epic gets a cone KB, a hold and a cone immob.
  18. I think Ninjitsu for Scrappers is only fair, considering Stalkers got our Broad Sword.
  19. Is there anything else on Spines?

    RWZ challenge?

Hm, I didn't know that. I guess that would make it WAY too easy if you just popped Unstoppable and went off killing (Mesmerists first, I would assume =P)

    RWZ challenge?

The standard RWZ challenge involves a single character taking on a RWZ spawn that has at least 3 bosses and is +4 (so that usually means level 54 baddies). These are the basic RWZ challenge rules (sorry if I missed some):

    -No inspirations allowed
    -No temp. powers allowed
-No click accolades (auto accolades are fine)
-All aggro must be on the player at all times.
-Spawn must contain three (3) boss level critters
-Spawn must be +4 (so that means level 54)

There is some debate about corner pulls, but I think they're fine. Also, I described the RWZ challenge most people brag about. However, you can make it harder or easier on yourself at will. For example, you could fight a +3 spawn, you could pull or you could even do it next to a Pylon (for a crazy challenge).

Someone please correct me if I missed anything.
  25. "Each archetype is getting an additional power set in their epic power pool, and each power set is getting an additional power so that there will be five powers from which to choose."

Whoa... EVERY AT gets a new Epic? Fingers crossed for Ice Mastery in Defenders =]
