Description reads PBAoE, Team + Recharge, Heal, +End, Moderate healing over time, +recovery.
Mids has it burning 20 end to cast...what +recovery does it produce...again mids has it at 15%. Is it buffable? Does it acually give a +end?
I can see the change in heal when buffed...
Whats a good slotting? With the goal to eventually get it perm... -
If all your going to do is farm fire....stop reading and go make a brute.
But if your going to do other content. The fire tank is the squishiest tank growing up. (Brute is worse) It has resistance armors, no knockback protection at all and zero defense in its primary. (before IO's you had to take acrobatics)
Assuming no inventions:
You resistance to smash/lethal will be about 70% for the tank and 55% for the Brute. Fire of course caps...
Toxic can be built up with healing flames 20% (each) and can be keep at 60% with enough recharge...and its a fast recharge and big heal - but it doesn't boost hitpoints like dull pain.
Meaning your max hitpoints will be lower. Regen will also be lower because of that.
But it really is a good heal...and it is NOT affected by the regen debuff from Hami and associates...So makes a pretty good Hami tank if enough knockback protection is added. (requires 12 points at least).
Now all that said - the tank can run 5 pbaoe sets of obliterations (combustion, FSC, Burn, Consume and Blazing Aura)
With Cardiac I have zero endurance issues..and it boost my resistances S/L to 82% (used +3 resist PvP IO).
The new ATO proc caps my smash/lethal (just short on one - easily maintained with 2 hits)
With weave, maneuvers, combat jumping, kinetic combats in single target attacks I have 47% melee defense. But that take both defense +3's to get there.
With other sets my regen is about 210% but I only have about 45% recharge.
Before I built in all the defense the romans just ate my lunch...I got pissed watching the High Defense) scrappers do stuff my tank couldn't.
Initially I still had issues with cascading defense failures from the -def hits but the Ageless destiny fixed (corrected) that issue..or max barrier but I prefer the Ageless for the recharge.
Can you build a Brute to max the defenses? Probably but its going to be tougher to do...
The only attack I didn't take were Fire sword and Breath of fire. But 5 six slotted attacks, 6 slotted heal, 3 five slotted single target attacks with 4 or 5 slotted armors makes for a very tight build. I kept Firey Embrace 3 slotted...it isthat good these days.
All that said I have main tanked all content blue side and most of the Trials...not done some of the latter ones...Soloing the early missions of the ITF was a goal of the build and it now does so easily... -
You can also slot pet uniques in tornado...He did say Demon Storm
-
Crysys ,Didn't call you out, said numbers were off.
For initial builds MOST people don't add in incarnate numbers. With agility incarnate your more than correct.
Though the OP requested without bot bubbles and you included it in at least your first response.
In your second post you wrote perma power boost without adding word "farsight" power behind it. I qued off that.
Also when importing mids builds - the incarnate "on" option doesn't happen unless there is a setting I have not found (possible).
Thankyou for showing the screen shots..they were more informative than your initial write up. But your still showing BOT bubbles and not what OP requested if possible. -
Jharber, Your builds defense numbers look good. I think your going to be hurting in endurance though.
Three slotted Hover is almost as fast as the old fly...so you could get away with dropping fly and picking up power boost and using those slots to get more endurance. Your def numbers will still be above soft cap and with power boost higher than before by 4% or so.
With more endurance slotted you could drop the extra slot in boxing and not have to use purples there.
You may want to put the Panacea unique in your temporal mending. That way if/when it procs your pets benefit. And Protector bots could use the end in long fights. And it would still proc on you...just have to use the heal more...
Tough is a good place to put the extra slots. You have no endurance reduction there and you could pick up more def as well as resistance.... -
Almao, You can perma farsight with SO's so your golden there...
To hit soft cap numbers for defense your going to have to take power boost, unless your willing to pop the occasional purple.
Welcome back -
Crysys, Your perma numbers aren't....
Your short on 3+ seconds on hasten, and 11+ seconds on Chronoshift.
You said perma power boost? Not even close. 33 second recharge for a 15 second duration.
Assuming the one protector bot bubble is on you you just make soft cap in the positions for normal missions. Your still short on soft cap for I Trials. Your only good numbers are smash, lethal and energy.
Unless your talking only the 15 secs power boost is working...most AV fights last a bit longer...
Your passing along inflated numbers... -
Your choice of secondary really depends on how busy you want to be, how often you team and how fast your team is moving.
As a MM in fast moving teams your always behind - if you have to stop, re-summon, buff etc.
Soloing you are a team unto yourself and can up the mission difficulty quickly.
Incarnates will be very frustrating - it is extremely hard to get enough defense to handle the lvl differences meaning soft cap is higher than 45%.
Traps is very busy and fun - especially for those inclined to play tanker-mind.
Think like a tanker with 6 blasters you have to protect...
With traps you can soft cap yourself as well as getting a LOT of resistance.
FF can tanker-mind as well as soft cap pets...you lack a primary or secondary heal but there are work arounds. FF is easy in that it has lots of extra slots...
Time can soft cap but require power boost to do it - adding maneuvers...
Heat can cap pet resistances but the heal may not keep up...MM's cap resistance at 75% - not sure oft hand what the pets cap is....
Storm is just plain chaos - especially if you actually use tornado.
MM's really are a mindset... -
Have no problems using Mids.
However with Beast/FF I seem to be coming up just short. I can soft cap 2 easy. But trying for all 3 I'm just getting across 40. Used tough weave etc...
I have the pets all soft capped no problem...don't even have to use pet uniques. Little bubbles, big bubble and maneuvers does it with just SO's
Since I want to be in the think of things...I would really prefer soft capped in all positions but can accept just melee. But was hoping someone had ideas.
No pvp io's and limited purples. (most purples have no def anyway)
Thanks for any ideas -
Try this one, slotting 3 so's (35's in a 32 MM) My Dire wolf only shows 67% damage and all the others show 97+%.
Dire does have the ability to slot damage resist and the damage % Is matching the resist %.
Not sure if this is a bugged damage...or just a reporting bug in the manage screen.
However on the detail..the dires attack show less damage the lions. Not tested in game yet -
The % chance to hit and the roll to hit...both occurred twice. One at 14 % and one at 95%.
It would distinctly show the success and or failure for both rolls.
Also the power I am using is Electrifying Fences from Mu Masters. It does NOT have a proc...so thats not the answer (great idea though).
Its six slotted with a full set of Enfeeble Oeration. Its accuracy is 95% and some change and with the alpha slotted is 114%.
So I am seeing one attact at 14% chance and a second at 95%. (assuming the 5% chance to miss comes off the first 100%) -
Replusion Bomb in FF got several big changes before the change to how the shields are cast...about the same time the fire tank changes came into effect.
Its actually a worth while power now.
The knock back was changed to knockdown. Damage was increased. Disorient was added.
The animation is still the same...it works sort of the same way...so cottage rule is still "sorta" in effect for the power.
So they are not gonna change; 2 small shields or dispersion bubble, nor PFF or force bubble.
They probably wont change detention field...some people use it to great effect in STF neutralizing towers.
Force bolt has many uses so no real change there.
They recently changed repulsion bomb as mentioned above.
That leaves only ONE power from the set that has potential to be changed - Repulsion Field. Making it a stun like the Stalker set mention earlier may be an option.
So what about the set makes it an old useless set?
Most people HATED the constant bubbling team and pets...thats gone now. Well to quick clicks every 4 minutes or so.
The set is a bit passive. You can turn on dispersion bubble and sort of just forget it...leaving lots of options to the other half of the AT - or just absolutely LOTS of dots to put in power choices
IMO the set is fine as is. Heck for a defender - if he takes power poost...the small bubbles alone give 38% defense to ALL positions. If they stay inside the dispersion bubble they are well over soft cap...even without armors.
What do you want - God mode? -
Was on my Bots/FF MM the other day and was seeing or more importantly not seeing the immobilize animations around targets feet. (trying to mitigate KB).
So got the "feeling" I was missing alot.
Change my combat tab to record the roll to hit. And removed other stuff for ease of reading the report. Set my difficulty to even times 1 and started testing.
I have the tier 4 nerve 45% Accuracy with 20% defense slotted in my alpha. FF boost being the reason.
Which gives the aoe immobilize 214% accuracy even with the penalty most aoe's get.
What I was seeing in to hit rolls was two rolls on each target. One for like 14% and one for 95%. Said to myself "WTF?"
My questions are as follows:
Is this normal game mechanic for very high accuracy?
What happens if both hit? Attack happens twice?
What happens if one hits and the other misses? Does the hit override the miss? Does the order in which they happen count?
If the miss was second does it override the initial hit?
I don't have hero stats so it rather hard to analyse whats actually happening here...any one of the "experts" actually have an idea? -
Warning long post.
A Master Mind was my first cov character.
I have 50's in Bot's/FF, Mercs/Traps, Thugs/Traps, Demons/Warmth as well as Zombies/Dark 43 and Ninja/Dark 40.
So I have experience in all the ATs but not all the secondarys though I have used all but poison on some other AT's.
It is fairly easy with IO's to soft cap smash/lethal defense making your character very survivable.
The tanker mind aspect is very doable as well and keeps your pets alive much longer hence more effective.
My observation/question comes from end game content or the incarnate trials. On Protector server MMs are seen very rarely in trials. Full size+ mobs and at level 54 make short work of most pets regardless of the characters tactics/build with some MAJOR exceptions.
Bots and Thugs. With FF and/or Traps secondarys.
My builds on the Bots/FF has the character with almost capped resistance and well above soft capped positional defenses. The Thugs/Traps also has almost capped resistance armor and soft capped defenses. In the Thugs case the difference is made up by the fact that Thugs can equip ALL the resist and defense pet unique.
Given the pace of trials the MM is often behind. Having to re-summon many pets and buff. Exceptions noted above. It doesnt help that pets ALWAYS are stuck upon zoning into Lambda (but not BAF for some reason).
Pets cant bypass spawns in the warehouse like most ATs do without major losses. Using grant invis just takes to long and does last long enough to be effective...now if it were made to work like the new method of shields...
Tanker mind does NOT work with the size of spawns and the fact that your usually behind. Closing doors on Lambda trials without resist armors and soft capped def will get you killed assuming your pets are not with you while you try to stealth to the door.
All the MM primaries work ok with regular content but some work oh so much better in end game content. Not all MMs are created equal in end game.
Yes I know the balance is supposedly based on SOs but with end game almost sort of DEMANDING IO builds I think some thought should be made toward base defense and or base resists on the pets to bring the different types to a leveler playing field. Do you guys agree or disagree?
I feel like I am more than contributing on the Bots/FF and Thugs/Traps but feel like a cripple with the others again only in incarnate trials .if only because at some point your GOING to be by yourself coming back from the hospital.
Oh and please fix the stuck cant dismiss without a typed release_pets command BEFORE freedom comes along. MMs are suppose to be a Special AT class for the F2P players not a laughing stock. As well as the AI causing pets to run into melee when they have ranged attacks watches Assault bot run in and slap someone omg. -
Long time missions that I have held on to and used like the Infernal AV mission from Maria Jenkins....changed from PI to Atlas this morning....
Should I be concerned? They have ALWAY been in the exact same location in Portal Corp before.....
Anyone else get something like this? -
Power Boost from Mace Mastery boosts Force Field little bubbles....does it boost the resistance from thermal shields?
-
The -30% restance from sleet (not to mention to -20% resistance proc) would go a long way toward the no regen.
And Im going to use a couple slots in Tornado to mule the pet uniques to toughen them up a bit...unless someone can convince me they dont help gremlins that much... -
Posted this in player questions...but the experts are here.
Can more than one tornado be out at a time...if given enough recharge?
Yes the chaos would be horrible...but hilarios until the objective boss was blown through a wall and no longer targetable...
Thanks -
Can either of these have more than one out.....given enough recharge of course?
Tornado has a 30 sec duration and is fairly easy to get it recharge low enough. But I have never tested multiple copies...and am working on another stormie.
Have no experience with water spout at all.
Thanks in advance -
Yes I know its random based on participation and completeing the trial.
That said. I have been doing them heavily since I20 started.
I have made tier 3's in all 4 of the new incarnate powers. I have made the second tier 3's for each of the incarnates.
After making all the above I still have:
8 commons
13 uncommons
3 rares
37 threads
66 astrals
21 E merits
Not to mention 26 shards
1 Infintesellation
and 6 notices
Alpha at tier 4...for a long time.
I have lost count of the number of trials I have completed.
Yes I know 30 E merits will get me a very rare...working on that. But with the lag from the new patch...Baf's are almost undoable...unless you stay at 16 people max.
So I'll repeat my question....How long is normal for a random Very Rare to appear?
What is it % chance? 1 %? 5%? -
Doing a BAF with more than 16 people - cause lag so bad you can not get the AV's down together. They repower - even withing a REAL WORLD two seconds of each other.
Power take a very long time to fire (cicrles last longer around button)
Incarnate power take even longer to fire.
The reinforcment timer - passes time at a real world rate. And reinforcements show up at a normal rate...but it takes 2 to 3 times as long to drop them.
You can move at what seems a normal pass...but powers firing and recharge at an extreme slow rate.
This is all after the last patch. -
I really don't care what the side conversion cost is....Last post I had 92 trials and zero Very Rares.
Currently at 98 and still no Very Rares....
It really doesn't matter what the cost is...it just is...
Especially when it takes weeks or months to get the item in the first place.
All your discussions about fair and unfair are moot.
Close the thread. -
Thankyou all for your answers.
Some of you may have misunderstood the intent of my question.
If a person is intent on increasing his incarnates after alpha then the only thing he can do is the two trials....
If the rewards and the "content" of making Interfaces, destiny etc was such that you used the previous incarnate drops then everyone would have had incentive to do other content.
With temp and vet powers "shutoff" in trials there is no incentive to do the other content I was refering too...
Again - This was all pertaining to someone trying to advance themselves in incarnates only....because they already had tier 4 alpha's AND were fully IO'd out.
The point is the developers didn't NEED to remove the incentives to do other game content. If this was "END Game" content....there needed to be a LOT more if they were going to "shutoff" vet powers and temps.
So again why did they put all the restrictions when they didn't have to? -
Fire/Fire tank....with 5 pbaoes and 3 st attacks....heavy participation on av's and mobs...doesnt matter....so being aoe centrict doesn't matter or so it seems.
Out of close to 100 Lambda's and Baf's
6 Rares
Uncounted uncommons
20 commons
1 10 thred (this was actually as a League lead...did a lot of typing so maybe thats why - the reward table said I sucked)
Pruchase one rare and 8 emerits for another.
So i sit with 4 tier 3 slotted incarnates and 4 tier 3's needed to make the 4th tier.
Very disappointed with reward system.
But Posi just announce that an "anouncement" about changes would be coming out very soon but not today.... -
The new Incarnate thread system actually limits game play to TWO trials ONLY.
Why the heck didn't it have a requirement that continued the Alpha system to a degree?
I realize they didn't want someone with a bunch of shards finishing the "New" content to quickly....BUT
There is NO incentive to keep getting notices or shards or go back and do anything else. If Notices or Favors were part of making a Rare or Very Rare - instead of the random drop crap....people would start doing Weekly Task Forces again...(sorry I really like the acronym WTF)
They took away any incentive to go do content that grants shivans or nukes...so play less content.
They took away incentive to be a long term vet...something EARNED break the new trials? Give me a break...I would love to have a staff to maybe chase down a runner.
No all I really see is play ONLY the 2 trials...oh and btw - unless your a "chosen" arch type...you wont get to finish making tier 4's....
Am I wrong in wondering what they were thinking?
