This'll probably fix it:
Login to your NCSoft Master account.
Change the password. (you can change it back, just change it once)
Login to game and you should be fine. -

Edit: I just noticed the Op's local, since there are other 'odd' things that happen (games cost $$$ more there), perhaps the email server strips out certain bits of html during transmission that have been flagged and the result is a borked file in the end? -

Hopefully this is norton related, that said there have been some malware related issues similar to this (kind of a stretch, but your google response is close), but if you're upto date on XP patches then you should be past those issues. -

The computer can end up struggling when the free space gets that low. You definitely want to do something before it gets near 10%. -
my assumption is that they're talking about the coming soon(TM) 50+ NPCs. the numbers probably aren't drastically any higher than previous level differences. IE: when you were 40 and fought a 41 or 43, the difference wasn't that drastic, but the rewards did scale.

well see what happens is that you get these change purses so full of gold that they eventually break and...no wait, wrong game :-X
but really, some people earn inf so easy that they'll just plop down a bid that's rediculously high enough to guarantee it to succeed. Sometimes I get tired of trying to "figure out" what the numbers are on the other side of the equation and simply start stabbing higher until I get what I want. -

I don't recall seeing it or where I got mine from, but have you looked into the Number-Pad bind set for MM's? That'll keep you from using up a tray.

The new-ish launcher upon initial install loads the game in four stages so that you can atleast create a character and test it out a bit in the tutorial while it finishes the download in the background. Unfortunately the tutorial has been rewritten to the point that you can easily finish it (even at walking pace slow) before the other stages have completed. My suggestion is to always tell the launcher to fully download/install the game before even getting into it so that you avoid this.
Note: the game only needs to download/install fully Once unless you delete/uninstall the game. Once that's done (save a reasonable sized issue update or patch) then you'll never go through it again and can happily play the game. I have a link in my sig if you care to read it. ;-) -

My spouse did a scan of my machine using a laptop on the network to take a closer look with a utility she had, and it showed that some of the sectors on the drive were bad. Even though it wa really, really minor, it can affect the stability of the OS and software and cause various problems. Fortunately, hard drives are cheap as dirt these days, which is good, since my disabilty income is limited.

Make a new shortcut. In the Target line, put this:

This will install VIP Beta. You can cancel the actual install process and copy over your Test or Live folder into your Beta folder, which will save *some* downloading (but not all because the piggs are *seriously* different between test/live and beta, and the piggs are the bulk of the game)
Also, how do I make my sig links just the names of the thread titles? I keep going WAY over this 5 line limit for some reason when I was doing it. -

And in that response he's only addressing the animations it would take for each existing power and each power that will be added as the devs keep developing new power sets.
He doesn't even broach the multitude of other things that would need to be modified on to get things to work right. -
I'm still VIP (for the next couple months atleast) so I'm not sure if Preem status is viewed different forum wise than VIP/Freem.

I'd almost point at the "I keep this open continuously" as the possible culprit. I realize they're not the same, but there are times that out of the blue IE will just up and gobble 50% of the resources when I'm not looking (something to do with FB or image/link heavy sites I think actually). With a process like that open for so long I wonder what exactly it's trying to keep ahold of during this period of time. Depending on the version of OS, it's possible that it's even cache-ing that whole session to the point of boiling over. I'm also curious as to what the links are that you're keeping readily available as perhaps there's an off the wall issue here that if anything should be documented.

It looks as if the primary HD may have been tanking. That's oaky, they're cheap and I have others. I dumped the memory just to be on the safe side, though.
EDIT: Just goes to show that we tend to forget that even brand-spanking-new =/= 100% error free. -
