Newsletters from NCsoft

Okay, so I keep getting these nifty emails pointing me at http://newsletters.ncsoft.com/ but I can't load images in the email, nor can I view the site in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. Is there some special incantation I need to apply to my computer for it to work? Does the server just not like me?

Is your email client set up to handle HTML mail or are you displaying everything as text?
How you set that will depend on which email client you are using.

That shouldn't prevent it displaying in a browser though.

Well, I know for this one at least, there are two VERY odd URL's for the two images at the bottom of the newsletter, the Inspirations and Paragon Points ones.

For example...

Code:
http://newsletters.ncsoft.com.vsingh.webdev03.austin.ncwest.ncsoft.corp/global/emp/coh/includes/images/2012-02-14/art_01.jpg
Which should really be

and
Code:
http://newsletters.ncsoft.com.vsingh.webdev03.austin.ncwest.ncsoft.corp/global/emp/coh/includes/images/2012-02-14/art_02.jpg
Which should be

I'm assuming the URL's didn't get fixed properly when going from internal testing to public posting, but .vsingh.webdev03.austin.ncwest.ncsoft.corp is a pretty hefty string to leave in the middle of a URL...

Warning:

The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

I see them every now and then, but I find that some will land their way into the spam folder on AOL.

Edit: I just noticed the Op's local, since there are other 'odd' things that happen (games cost $$$ more there), perhaps the email server strips out certain bits of html during transmission that have been flagged and the result is a borked file in the end?

This happens to me also. I get the newsletters regularly, but the images never display, and the 'go here to read this as a webpage' link is also utterly useless.

I also can't view the following link:
http://newsletters.ncsoft.com/emp/co...-02-15/na.html, either on my home connection, or at work. (No browsing issues at work, either.)

I wonder if this is a 'Not in the USA' issue, given I am in Western Australia.

It's definitely not a mail client issue, 'cause I receive the newsletters at my Gmail account, which has no problems with other HTML email. I've also forwarded a few of the non-displaying emails to other of my accounts, including my work email, using Office Professional 2010. None of these accounts have any issues displaying html emails or images, except these ones from NCsoft.

Looking back over the newsletters I've received, I can see that the first one to fail to load images is:

"Unlock new endgame content in Issue 20:Incarnates" received on 2011-04-06

The last newsletter to display images is:
"Hot City of Heroes Issue 20 revelations from PAX East", received on 2011-03-17

I suspect this is not-coincidentally linked to the radical change in newsletter format/layout that happened at the same time.
