Forum layout problem since a few days

I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I think the names are bolded on the topic listing and I assume they weren't before. This makes it extremely hard to browse the boards for me, with names jumping out and blurring with topic titles rather than being nicely understated like (again, I assume) before.

Anyone else seeing this? I'm not even sure if this is a bug or a change on purpose, can't find any thread on this topic. If it is intended, is there any way at the user level to fix this?

And like past hacks to the web code, this one is horrible because it makes each name bold and white in the coding rather than define a style for the name. So, no easy player-created hacks to fix it.

Not only that, but when browsing the forums, the list makes every name white and bold, but, when searching, then only the Premium names get the white and bold treatment.

NCSoft Seattle HQ Web Services needs to get their act together.

I also find it hard to read.

I also really want the working RSS feed versions of the dev and community digests back.

This is a really funny one as well if you read the announcement about the forum maintenance.

This maintenance will set VIP players' forum names to gold by default, and address other miscellaneous issues.

Thank you for your patience during this downtime.
I enlarged the part I find particularly funny. I look at my name and I see it still white. I see other VIP's names in white. A few are goldenrod, but most are white.

Of course, based on the Web Services team's past track record, I think that last sentence should have been worded as follows:

This maintenance will attempt to set VIP players' forum names to goldenrod by default, and will create other miscellaneous issues.

Once again, the Web Services team has stuck to their usual standard results.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yeah... apparently you still have to "join" the VIP group in order for the name color to be in effect.

User CP --> Networking (side menu) --> Group Memberships
If you "identify" yourself as a "registered user", your name will remain white.

It's as if they forgot to un-do what they set up previously. derp.

I'll third the reading problems. I've switched to doing most of my forum browsing in Lynx (a text-only browser that ignores most formatting) to avoid the problem.

I wonder if I should go apply to the Seattle web team. Maybe they need help and that's why they suck so much.

-_- I could probably do better than this. And I'm a fairly basic/intermediate web designer.

I'd find it hard for you to do a worse job than what they are currently doing.

I do not think that word means what they think it means.

It's weird seeing red names as thread starter or latest post on the forum page. Bolded names on that page is also odd looking.

This is rather distracting honestly. I load up a page and all I see are red names. It's kinda like paul revere's worst nightmare.
