Quote:It makes a darned fine beer opener. :thumbup:I see, so once again the Assault Rifle has shown that it has every conceivable battle application stuffed into it; a machine gun, shotgun, sniper rifle, flamethrower, frag and sleep grenade launcher, rocket launcher, beanbag gun and freeze ray, am I missing anything?
I'd love it if they would add the Council 'butstroke' animation or the Nemesis bayonet animation into AR for brawl and/or Boxing. Even better would be to be able to use the flamethrower animation for 'Ring of Fire' and 'Burn'. -
Quote:Mmmmmm... pie.I mean if players can't see for themselves the complete and total superiority of pie, then what can we do for them anyways?
(For truth-finding purposes - Personal favorites: lemon meringue pie, carrot cake, date cake. Yeah, in that order...) -

Personally, I find my AR/fire blaster to be my most fun character. It takes some skill to properly manage your knockback, especially when teaming, but I never get tired of seeing bad guys being blown ****-over-teakettle across the room. And then the glee inspired by lining up on the toughest guy in the spawn and hitting BuildUp+snipe followed by Full Auto. Ah, the divine carnage.
I was on a team recently with another AR blaster. It was glorious - I found myself laughing aloud. -
Quote:Perhaps his keyboard is only able to produce a 'U' while simultaneously pressing SHIFT. This would obviate your heinous and uncalled-for accusation. If you have no U on your keyboard how did you type that?
You must have a U and as such no u is a blatantly false statement and therefore invalidates your entire argument about the origins of CO and CoX. It obviously follows that the games are made by different companies.
I think that's right... I never did quite master the chewbacca defence.
And besides, you spelled 'defense' wrong. -
Good, we could use it. I get a bit tired of my Necromutants steamrolling everything while I knit a sweater.
Nothing quite like bringing up an April Fool's joke from yesterday as news today. -

Yeah, that was it. That's what I get for trying to remember the plot of a movie I haven't seen in 30 years...

I'm 43 this June, so a bit behind you. There was a new guy posting yesterday, with a name like 'KM STRYKER" or something like that, who from the things he said seemed to be well into his 50's at least. Anyway, you're likely *among* the oldest, as once you start getting much past 60 folks seem to be deathly afraid of computers, or at least of screwing them up.

Ever watch the old movie 'Capricorn One'? For those of you youngsters who weren't watching movies in the 70's it's about a manned mission to Mars that gets staged. When the astronauts won't go along with the plot they then have to stage an 'accident' and, of course, eliminate the astronauts.

I've met Lady Grey and can say unequivocally that she would never waste money on Light Beer. Had you posited Watney's Red Barrel instead, you might have retained some semblance of credibility.

Hey there, welcome to CoX! The whole account management thing ... well, let's just say it could be simpler. Hopefully someone will be able to help you better than I. Are you *sure* you put in the information correctly? Usually your account login and password are different from your game account. In fact, I'm fairly certain the system either *strongly* suggested or maybe even required that I do it that way. Which is quite a pain because I have trouble remembering what variation of my account login stuff I used for account management.

What if one developer put in a few hours a week to Boomtown? Maybe every patch release one or two buildings change, maybe some construction sites move, etc. Something to show progress rather than this big bombed-out landscape with buildings that have been on fire for 6 years?
-
Is this limited to only 50's or near-50's? The only one I have close is my main bluesider, Royal Sovereign. Chances of him switching ... well, he'll open the door for Golden Girl, if you follow me.
My namesake on redside is a big, misunderstood dinosaur, so I could certainly see him switching or at least riding (crushing?) the fence, but he's only in the mid 30's or so.
I'll probably pick one or two on each side to switch eventually, just to see how that whole arc plays out. But it probably won't be right away. -

No one here will have a definitive answer for that question, barring Posi or BAB dropping by to weigh in. But if you love the game as you say, and this is enough to cause you to toss your toys out of the pram, then perhaps it'd be best if you moved on. It seems that no one else is seeing this as a problem.

I don't use TP on many 'toons, but I really do like it.
Quote:I prefer just to put the power icon in my first spot. That way I simply hit '1' and click where I'm going. No binds to get messed up and have to reload. I've never even bothered with hover - it's easy enough to pick your next spot during the few seconds you're hanging in midair like Wile E. Coyote. Sure, it's a bit harder in places like Steel Canyon or (gasp) Dark Astoria but that's part of the fun.Teleport itself is not widely liked, but it becomes much easier and more fun if (a) you use a good bind, and (b) it is teamed with Hover. The classic bind is:
/bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Teleport
Of course, slotting in some End Reduction is a very good idea. I also lucked into the +stealth proc and that is particularly handy when you TP blind into a spot that's full of baddies. I highly recommend it. -

Quote:I agree with this. I usually don't get over to the Hollows much when leveling up as it's kinda out of the way from everything else, but those arcs are worth doing. And they lead to the Cavern of Transcendence Trial, which is one of the more underrated and underutilized features in the game IMHO. I remember the first time I did that trial after having played a few years and thinking, "Wow, I wish I'd seen this before now!"I'd finish the Hollows arc first, since you're already that far through it.
Sure, if I did it a few more times, it'd probably be old hat. -
Quote:Unfortunately for BloodFairy, it sounds to me like it's a bit more complicated than that. For instance, some of us have spouses/parents/significant others that simply can't fathom why you would spend time and money on such an obvious waste of time. So rather than have that argument again you confine your playtime to a schedule that minimizes the potential for conflict. Combine that with her work schedule. Working until 2AM means that you're headed to work about the time everyone else is getting home. So while most of us get some family time over breakfast or dinner, or after the kids finish homework, the only time you'd get to spend with them is on your days off. If she's gonna go to the store on one of those days, chances are the family goes together. It's not as fun as, say, playing in the park or catching a Mets game, but at least you're together.Ok, think of it like this - when you have a day off, and you need to go to the store and buy something, you do that, right? You don't spend every second of your free time with your freinds and family?
So think of doing a daytime ITF as like going to the store - there's something you want to get, so you spend a bit of your free time getting it.
ITFs are often donenin about an hour or a little more - sometimes 45 minutes if the team is very well balanced - and you can do it even faster if you're on a dedicated speed run team.
Not that I have any personal experience to draw from or anything. <.< >.>
Anyway, BloodFairy, hope you can find a team for it. If I had anything other than a couple of placeholders on Triumph I'd come help. -
That's a good suggestion - I love RP but find it hard to really do it in CoX. It always seems too hard for me to type something witty while furiously clicking powers or moving to a better position, so I end up either playing or RP'ing, but never both.

Quote:Yeah! Then it'd be more like Striga...All Dark Astoria needs is some Faultline style contacts with an overarching storyline between them and possibly a Taskforce to top it all off where you face the 'Sleeper under the graveyard'. Nobody is saying to remodel it.
Wait. Whose point was I arguing again?
Seriously, I like Dark Astoria, and agree that adding some contacts and a TF without changing anything else would be a welcome addition. But compare it to Striga Isle. or Croatoa. Neat zones with a theme, some contacts with pretty cool arcs, and a TF. Are they used much more than DA? At least Croatoa is accessible in one hop by train from most of the 'high-end' zones.
Maybe if there was a Pocket D entrance like Faultline's it'd help more.
