Vanguard Merits in Non-Rikti Missions

Do you have the Vanguard Day Job badge? Doesn't that give you bonus merits on anything?
Question marks intended, I'm not sure.
EDIT: Just checked. Yes it does.

If you have the day job temp power for staying in the Vangaurd base when you log off you get a merit at the end of each mission.

Merely a misspeaking (I had to check, remember?). Whatever the badges associated with the dayjob for parking in RWZ are. 
EDIT: Gah, still misspeaking. Just the dayjob for parking in RWZ. It's not the badge. **takes fingers out to have them cleaned and recalibrated**

Is this something new? I just ran a radio mission in FF, and got a Vanguard Merit when the mission completed (the enemy group was Arachnos). Then I ran a mission from my contact "Gordon Stacy" and got a Vanguard Merit for completing his mission. Again, no Rikti involved in any way...
Just curious... did a search on "Vanguard Merits' and I didn't see anything on this, but my "search-fu" may be weak....
