How would you expand your gameplay?
I don't RP, but I think Virtue server is still the main RP sever - although there'll be RP on all the others too for sure.
There's also a RP section here on the forums, so you might like to take a look there and see the sort of ways RPers use the game.

I'm looking for not only RP-ing, but also other ways to expand my game...
Two ways I think you might like playing the game from this point on:
Finding and joining a static RP team here on the RP forum and on Virtue's forum
And, trying out AE missions. The ones marked as Developer's Choice are very good with great writing and immersion. Some tend to be on the hard side but almost all of them are as easy as regular missions, their attractiveness lies in the creativity of the authors.
Task Forces are a lot of fun too, in a way they are just 2 hours worth of radio missions strung out to fit a story but with a good team with good people they are very much worth playing.
Sometimes there are TFs or SFs announced ahead of time on the forums. Depending on who is leading them, I have found some nice opportunities for light RP on them, in particular, those led by the Taxibots on Infinity on Saturday afternoons.
PuG TFs can be fun as well, but not necessarily for someone who wants to follow the storyline. Generally, the announced-in-advance ones will state whether they are done for speed, etc., which gives you a chance to run content at the speed you want to do it.
I think they offer the best of both static teams and PuGs.
Check out your server's forum or the Player Events forum to see what you can find there.

Two additional ways to expand your gameplay are PvP'ing and playing the market. I'm not really into either one, so there isn't too much I can say about them. Both have dedicated subforums here that can tell you more about them, though. I will warn you, though, that PvP is fairly quiet on all but the busiest servers (and maybe on them, too; I don't know since I don't play there), probably because it depends on interacting with other players.
If you haven't tried both the hero and the villain sides of the game, you definitely should do both, too.

There's lots of good content in the level 20 range as well... the Doc Delilah/Agent G arcs in Faultline and the 4 contacts on Striga Island, starting with Stephanie Peebles, are pretty good. If you've opened access to the Midnighter Club, Mercedes Sheldon has three short but high quality arcs.
At 25, you can jump over to Croatoa, which is still my favorite zone heroside. One of the most popular heroside arcs is "Freaklympics", which is handed out by either Collin Larson or Marvin Weintraub.
The 20s also provide several TFs -- Sister Psyche at 20, Moonfire at 22, and Citadel and Ernesto Hess at 25. All can be run in less than 2 hours with a decent team. Hess especially is not to be missed, and can be run in less than an hour with some teams.
Good luck!

I think he also means what else can the character do. Frankly, there isn't much. You can get various badges, the exploration and defeat ones are ones I go after with nearly every character. You can help with some of the zone events (e.g., fires in Steel Canyon), but those are limited. Otherwise RP or other player-driven activities are about the only other option besides the game's "defeat multitudes of enemies waiting for you to do so" and "complete missions".
Believe me, I really would like to see and do other things, but since this is based on the superhero comic books I'm guessing there isn't a lot of options. Although, I have seen quite a few good suggestions over the years in the forums which will never be implemented.
I have a couple level 20 characters and a few more in progress...These levels have been achieved by completing missions and killing thugs on the streets basically.
How would you recommend me to expand my gameplay? I love role-playing, how can I really role-play in CoH? Where should I move next, as a semi-n00b? Thanks! |

Have you seen some of the RP in Virtue? It's bad, really really bad. Improve your RP? Hahahahahaha. You want to scare the poor soul if he wanders into Pocket D?
