  1. I'm hoping to have a toon with survivability and damage in PvE. I don't PvP.
  2. Just put one together and hoping we can all fine tune this. Seems like a fun combo.

    This.

I really don't think there is a standard rule. It seems to really depend on the GM. These are some of the names they've genericed on me:
    -Apocalypse
    -Tombstone
    -Sentinel
    -Wildcat
    -Havoc
    -Phantom

and a few others I can't think of.

I had most of these names for months and played them lots. None of them remotely resembled any comic counterpart but I still got smacked with the generic bat. Meanwhile they let some guy keep the name Hercules for various reasons. Anyway, I guess the best bet is to google the name you may want to use and see if there's a hit; if not then you should be good to go.
  4. I'm not sure why Paragon likes to say Soon to so much. The Intrepid Informer told us Water Blast release date almost a week ago. The CoX Toots, on Monday, said it was coming Soon(tm).

Honestly, it seems a tad archaic and many other products have moved on from the long tease then reveal just before it's ready tactic. As many have said before, maybe fill us in on the plans so we can provide feedback etc. Use player polls and put notification messages up when a player logs in (directing them to a poll on the site) so you can get a more representative sample of player wants.

Not exactly sure what i24 is about other than blaster stuff and bug fixes. I've been hoping for an issue as good as i12 for...almost 12 issues.

George Lucas definitely started the slow road to insanity in the 90s. Poor bugger.

I think the 50 + zone should've been something a bit more grande instead of incorporating the old city map with some new art. In a time where they're doing zone revamps, they added a zone consisting, primarily, of old art/look. It also seems to have one primary theme to it - that of Mot, Banished etc. A little too fantasy/D&D for my liking. Where're the supers?? Where's the cool costumed types?

The game has been around for a while and the look and villains are stale. The formula is very familiar. They took a step towards variety with trials and the mini-event trials (Halloween, summer events) so good on 'em.

I really think it'd be cool to have a contest twice a year where players can submit original AE missions and the top 10 become canon and get turned into radio/paper/tip missions. Players can only submit unique, detailed content. Missions need to be short or very short. That would be kinda cool.

I also think devs need to poll the players more often than not. Players need more input into the direction the game is going with added content. Not absolute control but have the devs provide options and let us pick; this might be good with story, canon, content etc. for part of an issue.

Basically, Nether, I am not minding what we have but it isn't very exciting.

Your opinion. OP asked for opinion. I've played DA stuff. It's not bad but nothing special. I also think there is a lack of wow factor in the zone itself. I don't care for the look of it either; the bits of new art are ok but the rest is rehashed old City zone stuff.

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere energy was originally supposed to be water blast. They couldn't get it right back when.

If you add a few more it varies the experience more than what we currently have. I have no problem with new power sets but I think you need to have both. Power sets seem to be one of the big money makers right now so why not.
  10. Praetoria saturation. Too much already.

Issues becoming more 'meh'. The DA zone, DD trial, 'new' cave maps...none really have that wow factor. The Magi trial is solid but so much stuff seems pretty average at best lately.
  11. Not sure why the big hoopla over new powers. It'd be nice to get them but what's the rush? You get them and you're doing the exact same content. I would like to see the devs use this new income and make some solid, new content. New maps, enemies etc.

I am not sure where they get marketing strategies from...the CoH team seems to make sure everything is top secret.

I really hope the devs poll players more often. The content in this game has been iffy for a while. Not bad but not great. Very repetitive and not too creative. Been here for 4 years or so and my global friends list is dead; they grew tired of the nature of the content and the game stopped being as fun. Sadly, most haven't returned. So, nice to see new powers but what about some original, fun issues. I think the best issue, since I've been around, is probably i12. Time to up the standard
  12. There are a lot of no FX options. I like most of the effects but Ablative doesn't look good. It also seems like a bit of a variation of some costume sets; that set wasn't that great IMO.
  13. Is there any way a non-leader of a mish can read the exchange going on between team leader and the NPC we need to talk to? It is common in a lot of the newer missions but most of the team doesn't get in on the exchange. It seems kinda ridiculous if that is the case.

Note about part 2: That was me(Spines/Sym) and my bro you played with. Since you 'cut' the vid short of what i did, i'll say im sorry for the team wipe that happened, i was messing with bro and forgot about you till it was too late.

What happened was that he rushed forward and i headed right later on in the mission, i got a good laugh out of Bro(Lv6 or so, Staff/Sym) when he panicked when i told him to have fun with his mob.
What were the costume pieces being used there? The female toon had this wild looking arm piece and the spines toon had something going on when powers activated? Was that bio-armor and some effect off it?

    Design a TF?

This was another option I was thinking of. Something that is TOTALLY different than the constant style we get in game. Lots of repetition and seen it before happening. Let's add some new superhero NPCs etc

    Design a TF?

Yeah the AT one might be cool too.

I like AE and have stuff on it. 1 of my 3 missions is too broke to play and I can't be bothered to keep fixing it anymore. Players designing a TF etc would be a better option because it would be canon and easily accessible. AE is a bit of a joke full or rubbish; you know it's going downhill when farms become DEV choices. Ugh.

    Design a TF?

Ok, so, the Devs have asked the Pummit attendees to design costume packs and powers. How about they do a dedicated panel to designing a TF/SF/Trial? Players will be asked to prepare the TF/SF/trial in advance (type it out and attach pics etc) and then present at the panel. Any passable ones should be handed in and then put together.

I would like to see the players design new NPCs etc and have something completely unique. The material added to the game over the last while has been rather stale and repetitive so let's help the devs out

Fine film, worthy within the franchise.

And I totally do not understand the claims of retcon to the alien biology or how the goo doesn't fit. Made perfect sense to me, and fit nicely.

edit: there were some plot holes, however, such as the getting lost/left behind, running in a line away from the crash, and how the small hugger grew to such a great size without any material/energy in particular. nothing drastic, though.
This film was better than any other in the franchise. Very well done and I am going to see it again tomorrow
  19. I don't think we need much for old States AND Sister P. The city is full of too many giant, tacky statues. Maybe a nice, regular sized statue and plaque of these two in Atlas.

    I24 hopes?

A new LFG trial ala dfb, dib would be most welcomed.

I think we have seen the end of Preatoria though. From the way I read what Prometheus said about Tyrant and the Magi trial it was pretty much clear that we are done with Preatoria and all efforts should be going to focus for the Battalion.
This. I think the sewers and DiB need company! They should add at least 2 more of these types of trials in the 15+ range. A bit better writing and new NPC/enemies would also help.

Hopefully we're done with the goatee universe.

I also hope each issue contains some quicker story lines.

  22. I really think the SSAs are an opportunity to introduce some new NPCs/players in the CoH lore. I played both versions of this one and it was ok. I think I prefer the red side one but as far as story goes; blue side wins for NPCs.

The NPCs on both sides are really not my thing. Sky Raiders are just weak and they never appealed to me. Their base, look, concept...blah. The Sky Raider boss looks awful...flame pants and boots?! Terrible. Blue side has has the clocks and trolls which are fun but done to death. We see the clocks all over.

Is it that tough to design some new, cool looking NPCs? After seeing the Raider Captain dude, maybe it is?!
  23. So, the retro sci-fi pack was the brainchild of the pummit crew. From discussion to actuality is a relatively short time. Relative to many of the ideas on the costume request thread...which seems pointless. So many ideas there and on Noble Savage's threads but this is the new pack. Ugh.

Sci-Fi isn't for me. It doesn't appeal. For years I've been (and many others) requesting stuff like the celestial pack and the mecha armor pack. Why on Earth has it been hidden behind the tier 9 wall rewards wall and the sci-fi pack is put out for purchase?! Why?!

Also, i23 brought along the chainmale gear. Why didn't it include the knight armor as seen on the new NPCs??
