I can see that. Here's hoping they get the Plans for the No Fx to work. I want a Right arm only option for a 2nd Concept Char i got.

If they do a NoFX option it will be from the side of the player who has Nature and I imagine if you are playing the set you probably like the look. I think it's very 'busy' but they fade quite quickly away from the small amount of gameplay I've seen, so I like it.
On a side note, I wish there was a 'no FX' option so that other people's shields and buffs don't hide your appearance.
There are a lot of no FX options. I like most of the effects but Ablative doesn't look good. It also seems like a bit of a variation of some costume sets; that set wasn't that great IMO.
The toggles already have NoFX options. Ablative Armor currently does not, although the carapace in that one forms and immediately shatters before the cast even finishes, you don't walk around as Gloop-Man for 30 seconds.
I wonder how it'd affect Auras and such...I mean, Spines bursting through the carapace, or half a katana blade hanging outside the carapace...Seems like it's going to affect the FX of other powers.
This has secured my decision to reroll a claws/energy brute to claws/bio when it comes around.

i like the overall look of the set, but i can think of a couple concepts where a minimal geometry version of the armors is much better, especially with how the auras look by themselves. That said, this is perfect for my long dormant (rarely played since 2005) Spines/Invuln Scrapper whose bio back then described his powers as absorbing the DNA of other creatures, primarily crabs, to emulate their abilities. If Spines gets ported to Tankers he will be a Bio/Spines Tanker. If not i'll just do a Scrapper version.
Some nice screenshots by the OP, but i do have to wonder somewhat about the choice of a costume that already has large, bulky geometry pieces when showing off Bio Armor's large, bulky geometry...

when i checked it out on beta im pretty sure there was a minimal fx option, but i do not know all of what it effected, i like seeing the FX so i rarely use this option (only time i do is on dark armor cloak of darkness as it renders your characters costume unseeable which is extremely annoying)
I think I cleared an Ablative Carapace out of my shower drain once. Yeesh.
Seriously tho, this looks extremely concept specific. I sincerely hope they do some alternate graphic forms like mystical armor, crystals, energy shields, etc to accommodate people less interested in looking like a calcified hairball.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.

Random QR: the no fx option works fairly well - at least through powers up to level 16, which is as far as I got before changes were announced and I stopped to wait for the changes. From what I could see in the character creator, you could get away with just an aura for the offensive and defensive stances most of the time (autos and toggles).
The ablative carapace effect doesn't have a no-fx option, but it only shows up during the animation time of the power. Look away from the screen for a second or something when you hit a click power, I guess?
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Here's some basic Screen shots of Bio Armor. I won't post numbers yet since there subject to change. Sym Armor(my Beta Char) is a Spines/Bio Scrapper. Really Hoping for Spines for brutes for a Char that i been wanting for a long time.
