How many of those applications use OpenGL? Have you tried the Unigene demo in OpenGL mode?

Quote:FredrikSvanberg and anyone else experiencing crashes, can you try running with '-verify' on the command line?I crash quite frequently when entering/leaving/moving inside the trial instances. Sometimes I get a message that looks like this, or similar (not always the same file):
I have run the patcher 4-5 times yesterday and also defragged my game files and run the patcher a few more times.
In the Launcher, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' and put the '-verify' (no quotes) in the "Extra Command Line Parameters (Advanced)" box.
If you are using CohUpdater, add '-verify' (no quotes) to the end of the 'Target' field in the properties of the shortcut to CohUpdater you use to start the game. -
LKN_351, are you still seeing the "Corrupt pig file" messages?
If so, can you try running with '-verify' in your command line arguments? In the Launcher, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' and put the '-verify' (no quotes) in the "Extra Command Line Parameters (Advanced)" box. -
I fail to see how graphics problems showing up in screenshots equate to a video card going bad. Many things can cause graphics problems to show up in screenshots, not just video cards going bad.
-
Try adjusting your shadow settings and ambient occlusion settings.
What video card and driver version are you running with? -
If you see these two entries:
CITY OF HEROES
CITY OF HEROES (US)
That means your Launcher is set properly to the EU region and you need to run the "CITY OF HEROES" one to connect to the EU servers.
If you are only seeing "CITY OF HEROES (US)" then the Launcher did not find an EU version of City of Heroes installed. -
-
BurteForce, have you tried a "Repair (Consistency Check)"? It can be found by right clicking on "CITY OF HEROES" in the NCsoft Launcher.

No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse

In the Launcher, right click on the game and select 'Properties'. In the Properties window, change the "Install Location" (hit the 'Browse...' button) and point it at your old installation.

"Recommended: 640k of RAM"
Umm.... that has only 128 bytes of RAM (not 128KB, 128 bytes), as in 3 orders of magnitude less than the recommended 640k of RAM (5120 times less to be exact).
Maybe if you ran it in safe mode... -
The Mac Launcher should be available soon and Mac users will be able to unlock the wisp aura with the Mac Launcher.

Regarding your Alienware M11X, see this thread:

You could try testing with the Unigine Heaven Benchmark demo. I believe it has an OpenGL mode.

I don't have access to any "helpdesk ticket/database system" other than what's in my head
-
The patch servers may have been updating when you first saw the error message.
-
If this is in the Launcher, just do a Repair (right click on "COH TEST" and select "Repair (Check Consistency)").

You just need to do a repair (right click on COH TEST and select "Repair (Check Consistency)".

If you lower your graphics settings and the problem still occurs, then the problem may not be related to the game.
If you lower your graphics settings and the problem goes away, then the problem is probably something in the game. -
My guess is that you need to run some kind of driver cleaner/sweeper (there are utilities out there to do this, just do a Google search) and make sure you have all remnants of the previous driver removed before installing the legacy drivers for the X1650.

So, are you unable to start NCsoft Launcher or you are able to start NCsoft Launcher and the game fails to start when you push "Play Now"?
The video card requirements did not change with the version of the game started by NCsoft Launcher. So, if you were able to play the game before NCsoft Launcher, it should still be able to play. -
The instructions in the original post are correct. Did they not work for you?
