  1. I should be available to fill in as an alternate as well. @Fuzzball or @Fuzzball2
  2. I'll join in for this. I'll bring Inducto - level 50 Elec/Regen Stalker, and Ignogon - level 50 Fire/Dark Corruptor.

I think you nailed it right there. I was referring to the general approach, stealthing where possible, ignoring ambushes, hell ignoring anything not required to complete the mission. On PUG ITFs, in my experience, this is quite common. Since no one is working together half the time a couple Brute/Scrapper/Tanks end up finishing the first and/or second mission while all the squishies are left face-down scattered throughout the mission. Because of the lack of cooperation and organization these "speed" runs can take an hour or more.

This is correct. I had the same problem running a Stalker in the BSF. There are two rooms with glowies, you have to start at the left and work your way towards the right. No idea why.
  5. The "enemy" and "alive" have never worked for me. Even using them it still targets defeated mobs.

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. If you mean a visual GUI designer for swing components there are a number available.
  7. What I liked about the AE boss farms was that on a random PUG they could be quite challenging, and often required teamwork. Contrast that with a lot of other content, such as speed ITFs and such that most everyone just blitzes with half the melees off soloing their own spawn, and the boss farms were fun.
  8. I'm guessing this:

I'm not disagreeing with your assessment, but I would like to point out that you don't need to fight them to get your contacts in Sharkhead. SWAT only show up in PPD at levels 21+, not 20+. What I do when entering Sharkhead (at level 20) is do one mission for Darrin Wade. He then introduces me to one contact. Then I do newspaper missions and two mayhems to unlock all the tier 1 contacts in that zone. I don't have to deal with any SWAT because they don't spawn at that level. Now that we can set our difficulty to -1 level, you could even avoid SWAT at level 21.

Nerva is another story, there's no way to avoid dealing with them there if you want to unlock contacts, but at least you're level 25 and hopefully a little better equipped to deal with them.

Nice to know. A while back I considered writing my own cross-platform builder. I fired up Mids, gave some thought to what would be involved in rewriting that program from scratch, and decided I didn't have the time nor energy to spare to do a project that size on the side. So I'm glad someone picked up that torch. I kind of doubt non-programmers who use any of the planners can appreciate the amount of time and effort that must have gone into them.

As an aside I'm curious what language/tech you're using to build the cross-platform version.

Why not use build 2 for your leveling build and keep build 1 as your regular build? Unless you plan on using build 2 for something else later it'll save you a respec or two.

    Dark Melee/Ninja

My experience with my DM/Nin was that it felt ridiculously powerful, almost to the point of being overpowered. I shelved it. I think that was partially because of the lack of AoE, but also because it felt like it trivialized encounters.
  13. Interesting build. As for the LotGs, how about getting 27s instead of 25s? If you shifted some slots around you could have Neutron Bomb partially slotted for use. There is no functional difference between a level 27 and 25 in the current content. Flashbacks go in 5 level increments. There's no way to have them active at 19, but a 27 would work in the next tier, 20-24. The same goes for SFs.

Unless you're planning ahead for when a new low level SF is added, which IMO is unlikely, a 27 would work just as well as a 25.

I disagree. I quite enjoy being able to lock down a boss using both holds. I can understand that you might not value that, but it's hardly a waste.

Normally I'd volunteer but I wouldn't have the first clue how to run a "Mo". My usual approach of hitting stuff until it stops moving would probably not be adequate.
  16. It's been quite a while since I've played my DM/EA Brute but based on my recollection I wouldn't recommend going staminaless. DM/EA can do it just fine, no question about that IMO. The thing I didn't care for about it was having to watch my blue bar all the time. That and the time spent filling up my endurance was time I wasn't doing anything else, including attacking.

If I was building one now I'd probably take Stamina and Energy Drain, skipping Dark Consumption.

That's why my current Corruptor project is a Dark Blast/Sonic Resonance Scrapper. It's an expensive build (by some people's measure anyway) but lots of fun.

With regard to the OP: Yeah, that's redside all right. Patience is required. It helps to have multiple alts so if your market slots fill up and you don't want to pull/delete anything you can just let the stuff sit a while.
  18. Anyone else seeing the levels of mobs in flashbacks being borked since this went live? By borked I mean being 5-15 levels below the level of the FB. It's kind of fun to go around one-shotting everything, but I'm sure it's not intended.
  19. It's hard to compare Dark Blast to other blast sets. It's a completely different animal from most of them. Most sets get a single-target mez, either a stun or hold. Dark Blast does not, but gets a low mag AOE stun. Most blast sets get Aim (or a clone) for +tohit and +damage. Dark Blast does not. Most blast sets get a medium-range heavy hitting blast to complement the tier 1 and 2 blasts. Dark Blast does not.

Dark Blast is the only blast set that includes a self heal.

Dark Blast is relatively weak against single targets, but has strong AoE. It's not the best at AoE, and not being the best at AoE while also not being the best generalist means it gets ignored by a lot of people. It also has the same problem that +defense has in it's -tohit secondary effect. It's binary, either you get hit or you don't. It tends to be streaky, and at low levels of -tohit, it seems like it's doing nothing.

Dark Melee is the opposite of Dark Blast in a way. While Dark Blast does best against multiple opponents, Dark Melee is a single target specialist.

Spin is one of the bigger reasons. Claws for Brutes (and Scrappers) is a strong AoE set. It also has Follow-Up for a consistent DPS boost.

For Stalkers it doesn't have much going for it that other sets don't also provide. It is a better set overall since the tweaks. It's a solid set, not like before when people called it "Clawlz".

Eviscerate was changed into a single-target attack. The downside is that you can't hit multiple targets with it anymore. The upside is that it crits reliably from hide now, so the set has a big hitter other than AS to use after Placate.

You could make it work, certainly. Sonic/ doesn't really need any help from the secondary to solo well, bosses and EBs aside.

Offhand the only problem I see is that Acid Arrow has a DoT that could wake up some of the mobs you put to sleep. The radius on it is pretty small though so you could probably make it work when the mobs aren't clumped up too much.
  22. I'm guessing candy canes will be in shorter supply this year than last. Last year most of the candy cane farms I saw had a bunch of high level toons running a low level toon's missions. That way they could complete it quickly. With SSK that won't be possible this year. It might be possible if the entire team broke up and reformed inside the mission without the mission holder, but I'm not sure that would work.

So I'm expecting the overall candy cane generation this year to be much less than previous years. Whether it will be low enough to make them a good investment I don't know. I doubt it. I think a lot of people stocked up on Winter's Gifts last year so there wont' be as much demand this time around.

I still have a handful in storage from last year. I'll be re-stocking my supply this year since it's running a bit low, but I won't need that many to have enough for all my current and future alts.

That's the main question I have after looking all this over. Being unable to give inspirations or anything else to teammates sucks. We deal with this with shared content already. I have a hard time believing they'd implement that for side switchers as well, but I guess we'll have to wait to see.

It seems to me that the only way they could implement it would be to allow trading items but not inf. That would allow them to keep the wall up between the inf disparity between sides while still allowing trading. There would be people moving items between markets but the inf would stay segregated.

It seems ridiculous any way they might do it though. GR would be the ideal opportunity to merge the markets. That they've decided not to do it does not bode well for it ever happening.
  24. Thanks for writing this up. It's an interesting read. My go at /Earth was deleted at level 9, so you've managed to get a lot further than I.

I hope you keep the updates coming as you move along and get more familiar with the set.
