Dark Melee/Ninja
I'm beginning to think that Dark Melee is not a popular primary. No one responded to my post about DM/WP either. The two heals was one of the things that sold me on it, that and I have had good experience with the set in other AT's.
Would you mind posting a quick layout of the powers you took? I'm also curious if you took Touch of Fear and if it stacked with AS well like I think it will.
I'd be happy to post my build in a bit, I need to finish some work but thankfully I am home today and probably have it up in an hour or so.
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for the day, SET a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.
Incarnates: K'lir(Fire/Dark Corr):Hot-House Flower(Plant/Fire Dom):Kinrad X(Kin/Rad Def):Itsy-Bitsy Spider(Crab):Two Ton Tony(Mace/WP Broot):Teeny Weeny Widow(Fortunata/Widow) : Zeroth Law (Ice/Fire Tank)
This is roughly my build. The levels I picked the powers are all screwed up, and the levels of the IOs themselves aren't quite right, but the power choices, set choices, and IO choices are what I currently have slotted.
I tend to BU/AS a boss, and then scrap out the rest of any group I'm facing. I run this character solo at +2 x3. I use ToF to stack a heavy -tohit debuff with my 2 quick punches, and basically never take a scratch.

Dark Melee/Ninjitsu is definately a sweet combo, I'm loving mine so far. I just hit 24 with mine but this is the build I am planning on as his final.

But my first 50 stalker was dual blades/regeneration. She was alot of fun leveling.
Dark melee and the love. I think this power is a love it or hate it power. I have seen so many people that love dark melee but I for one have played it and I was extremly disapointed. I'm more of a BS'er myself but like I said, I think it just matters your playing style. I think the concept of that build is good as I liked having the heal from DM on my character but all the other stuff wasn't to my likeing. Have fun with your character!
My DM/Nin was the first Stalker I got to 50 - prior to the DM and Stalker buffs a while back. I think that it's not mentioned much because it's not an AoE-heavy primary (although it at least has one), and generally people want AoE for PvE play.
But yes, my experience matched yours rather well.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

My experience with my DM/Nin was that it felt ridiculously powerful, almost to the point of being overpowered. I shelved it. I think that was partially because of the lack of AoE, but also because it felt like it trivialized encounters.
I like my Dark/Nin. It's at lv 42 right now, and I find it to be hardcore awesome. The lack in AoE damage makes it more of a challenge, and you have tools available in your primary and secondary to keep enemies occupied on things other than getting through your defenses, such as Touch of Fear and Blinding Powder. I find it comparable, if not superior to, an EM/SR Stalker in terms of ability to solo AVs. I managed to solo Mako and Johnny Sonata's Soul, among others.
I'm a fan of DM/WP myself. Him and my Elec/Regen are more team builds as they have tactics that are better played in that environment. The Regen, although I've slacked on getting his build better, is more about +rech and pumping out AoE and dropping the heals to keep him upright.
The WP is a vengeance wh*re. He tries to die (although it's harder than it sounds with capped HP, defense to stack with -ToHit and a healing attack to stack with some +res) so the team can use vengeance on him but also so he can pop Resurgence often enough. Not to mention he has vengeance himself. A nice little trick he is capable of is, before or after a team wipe, Resurgence > Veng > Assault > SoW. With that plus the couple of IO bonuses for +dmg, he's walking around with Build Up for 90sec...until he actually uses Build up, then he's got double BU damage on top of being untouchable and resilient as f***
Every time I read his titles (The Wrathful, Undying and Deathless), it brings a smile to my face how simply delicious his concept is
Has anyone dropped 'shadow punch' for 'dark blast'? It looks like the damage would drop just a hair, but -tohit would stay the same... and it opens up 'Shadow Meld', which looks like it would be a lot of fun.
Any thoughts on doing it, I am seriously considering it for a level 47 respec?

Personally, I skipped Shadow Punch altogether, planning on grabbing Hasten later on. "Later on" ended up being lv 28, so I had a little bit of trouble damaging.
DM is fine solo, but the lack of AoE means that it does not do nearly as well teamed as other stalk sets do.
For a soloing stalk, yeah, DM is great. For a teamed stalk, not so much.
Holy carp.... this character is AWESOME. I mow through mobs! I have 2 heals, a ton of -tohit, decent defense, and soo much damage!
This is my first stalker, and she is now level 46. Are there any other secondaries that can perform as well as Ninjitsu? On paper, it looks like I may have stumbled onto the perfect character through pure serendipity.
