    That's not actually true though.

I used to run around in that game as one of a regular team of 3 mages (yes, we had no tank or healer, imagine that!) and our characters were nothing alike. I built a glass cannon - an all-fire mage, my friend had a cold-based mage, my wife a nice balanced mage with bits from each and the other branch.

It was really no different from choosing three different types of blaster to play here.

Yes, there's a lot more choice here, but there's not 'no choice' there.

No doubt there will be yet another form of currency to pay the rent on that once it's in the game!

It seems a bit silly to me that Premium players can unlock IOs but can't pay rent on bases.

No; in proper English English it would be outside the quotation marks as it belongs to the enclosing sentence, not the quote - and it's called a full stop!

We should all be trying to keep the Help channel as clean as possible for the new folks, so they can get their questions answered, NOT encouraging people to junk it up with LFG spam.
...and I'm going to disagree with you.

In my experience Help doesn't generally work the way you think it does; it's normally monopolised by a bunch of players discussing anything that crosses their minds, often nothing to do with the game - at least on Virtue when I'm on - with the occasional actual help request getting lost and ignored in the spam.

I would encourage all Free players to use the Help channel as a LFG channel as it's the only real communication channel they have access too, until the devs see sense and give free players their own free player channel that people worried about the inevitable gold selling spam can simply ignore.

The chat restrictions were stupid under the old trials, they're still stupid now.

20KB is very generous for avatar images, most come in under 10KB, yours is 4!

Uncompressed images are for print, not t'internet...

Personally I would ban animated .gifs.

Not just from this forum: outright ban them.

Now the game has gone free to play you'll notice an upsurge in players on most servers, I mean I just popped out of a mission into Talos Island 2 on Virtue at effectively breakfast time on the east coast. Keep the home server, mine will always be Defiant, but don't be afraid to alt on another if it's busy when you usually play.

The only server I'd recommend avoiding would be Exalted, although that'll no doubt be subjective
I moved to Virtue a while ago; moved back to my EU account when they merged the server lists, but mainly re-rolled on Virtue until a friend came back and we level-pact'd to 50 on Union.

I'm hoping the population on Union picks up, but Virtue is a good alternative, it seems busier at the times I play; I'm planning on moving one or two characters there.

Exalted has a decent population at the moment.

It feels like a long scam on his part to trick them. I do think a Doctor is going to his death. We have seen that 2 of a person can be created in the time stream and note The Dead Doctor didn't have the TARDIS with him. I think he leaves Craig and at some point soon splits himself. One taking the TARDIS one using that wrist time travel thing. And it is the Second Doctor who actually dies.
Might be something in that; I've always had a sneaking suspicion that the most likely person to be in the space suit is the Doctor himself (regardless of all the clues telling us it's River). I never really liked the Substitute-Ganger-Doctor-dies theory though (the Gangers turn to mush when they die, so it would have been obvious), a duplicated Doctor might work.

The most likely outcome is the obvious one: the Doctor is shot by Spacesuit River but cheats and doesn't actually die; I hope the ending isn't that dull, I want something clever!

    Get out of my head!

I wasn't that keen on the CoT revamp, but some of the higher up bits are nice.

But we don't get those - we can dress as a grunt.

    Whoopee do.

Am I reading it wrong or are the 'Character' and 'Account' rewards listed on that wiki page back to front?

It's using Character to mean 'all characters' and Account as 'one per account', but the game uses Character as 'one character' and Account as 'all characters on the account' doesn't it?

Edit: Yes, I know, I'm not returning mine either, so I admit, that was a bit of a jab. Meant to illustrate a point I made earlier, not intended for maliciousness.
I saw those points as an incentive for people to continue subbing until i21 hit, or indeed come back earlier than they might; nothing to do with disruption of service.

It's funny how you play an MMO and hang out all day on its forum and yet don't consider yourself a nerd.

It may be an oversight but I think that when it comes to business, oversight and stupidity are synonymous.
It's not malice or stupidity, it's...indifference I guess?

They have work to do, work that has to be done and has to be done when they can do it. The fact that this regularly annoys the same group of players will be seen as 'unfortunate but unavoidable', nothing more than that.

It only takes a few to ruin it for the majority (And i have been in that situation many a time :/ ), not saying that is the case here but who knows? I don't.
You're saying they should compensate the happy customers instead of the unhappy ones? Or that NCSoft should just know that people are unhappy with the service without them telling them?

Other MMO companies regularly add time to people's accounts to make up for excessive interruptions to service; heck, even this company has compensated players for interruptions to service in the past (the Union DXP event that all-but killed Defiant springs to mind).

Maybe people shouldn't expect it, but it's good public relations and most MMO companies (including this one!) understand this.
  20. I think it means the next billing date, once the time you just paid for runs out, you'll get your points and token.

There were many requests for a 'I survived the lag' badge during the first few weeks in the EU; we didn't get that and to be honest that was far, far worse.
