Quote:... er....I'm not sure if the old tutorials will be available in Ouro, but it was mentioned that you will ABSOLUTELY be able to get Jail Bird and Isolator in some way.
you already can if you skipped them. Both through Ouro, and not flashback either.
Also, I do have to aggree, Sister Psyche's expression looks... less horrified than... I'm... not sure what. "Oh my god, I'm singing opera!" or something. -
Is that via the old updater or the NCSoft launcher?

Can we PLEASE get the Lost Curing Wand's timer dropped from 12 seconds to something more reasonable, like - I don't know, 1? I'd even go for 3. It's not like its an overpowered power, you get no XP for curing the 30 lost (some at the end, sure, but not what you'd make if you defeated them normally.) All it does is drag the mission out (and let the Lost scatter if you've found a nice group of them.) I can't see why the longish timer was seen as a good idea. Maybe if it had an AOE option I could see it, but it doesn't. All it does is drag the msision out.
Also I know the costume timers are there to keep people from "spamming" or something, but really, 30 seconds while I'm trying to compare two costumes (say, trying to make sure I have the same color, face, and some other details) is again long enough to be irritating. How about 10? -
Trying to get used to living in Linux a bit, so right now I'm usually booted into this:

Quote:Yeah. One of the ones sticking out for me is "Labor batallions." The author is basically pointing at the word "Batallion" and saying "See? Military!" when it doesn't necessarily need to mean that. They could just be a convenient way to label the groups, or (it's been a while since I've read it) it could have been set up, military and civil, along military lines with military labels.Yes. He's wrong. Clearly he needs a dictionary, because his definition of fascism bears no relation to reality.
He also makes specious side comments like "uniforms are not commonly worn by general government workers." Well, no, not in OUR world, but Heinlein's writing science fiction. It's no different from many other sci-fi tales from Star Trek to, well, name a random dozen. Plus, most jobs may not have uniforms the way soldiers, police, firefighters, EMS, park rangers, doctors, nurses, priests, nuns, restaurants, animal shelters, cable companies, yard maintenance companies... oh yeah, almost every job requires a uniform, and those who don't expressly define "acceptable dress." It's actually rare to find a job that doesn't have some sort of required outfit. Look at IBM when Heinlein was writing, for example.
But clothes don't make the political ideology. He makes a whole host of other selective and incorrect assumptions, sometimes even ignoring human behavior altogether.
And the line about "uniforms," yeah. Police wear uniforms. Fire fighters wear uniforms. (I believe both can get "awards" and "badges" to wear, as well.) Heck, Mcdonalds employees wear uniforms, and if we're under attack by the Mcdonalds Army...
Regardless, it doesn't disqualify the fact that calling the Starship Troopers movie "Starship Troopers" is like calling "Plan 9 from Outer Space" a documentary of Apollo 13. -
I was playing with the idea of making a dual blades stalker. But other than a wicked looking asassin's strike, I don't think it would work out very well. It just seems like it's not that big a deal or too dependant on combos.
Am I wrong? Is it worth leveling up? I haven't made it yet, so if it's too big of a pain to level, no sweat. -
Quote:Wow. You're clueless. Regardless of your post count.Actually post counts are a good thing. I think post counts show who really plays the game and who is more a forum wh*r*. The mini man who rarely posts and spends more time playing the game is likely to provide better accurate feedback to developers. On some occasions people with higher post counts are the result of posting on cellphones or laptops while at work. But more often that's probably not the case.

It would be nice if they had the time (and inclination) to add it to old contacts. But heroside at least why not have them get some origin related contacts throught the origin offices at city hall? I don't know what we would do anywhere else, though.

Rather have him around than you and your smiley fetish, to be honest. He's snarky and seems really annoyed by some things lately. You're just rude while trying to hide it behind smileys, and I really have to stretch to think of more than one or two actually useful things you've ever posted.

I kind of agree with the "what, another new zone?"
On the other hand, if it's appropriate, sure. It's only an issue away.
I do agree the old ones need freshening up though. -
I believe they turn off any other stealth powers at the same time. (Or "just" stealth powers, you could still use superspeed or a power with a stealth IO.)

Quote:God, I hope not. Tying lore down that's been building for years behind "Grind away at this trial" BS is just a horribly bad idea.I think the Coming Storm will be designed with at least 3 level shifts in mind - posisbly even more, depending on how many more shifts the next 5 slots give us..
And no, the ridiculous shard conversions are not a realistic alternative. -
I'll admit this is probably going to sound "lolnoob" to somebody. Oh well.
I think the Incarnate salvage explosion we have now is overly complicated. As I try to run trials, I sit at the end and try to find "Um, which one of these things do I need for what?" There was a little of that with Alpha, yes, but with just one branch and one group of salvage, it wasn't too bad.
Now I'm spending (wasting) time hunting back and forth at the end of a trial, or going "the heck with it" and just picking something to break down later.
(Edit: This had two possible suggestions in it before, but the first didn't really come out the way I wanted, so I'm just concentrating on the second, and hopefully editing the title!)
So, instead of sitting just as is, give me an option to pick the path I want to take through the trees ahead of time. If I want Void, the Clockwork pet, Musculature, etc. let me pick that tree and have it auto-pick what's needed (and have it auto-create it when I have all the components.) Threads get autoconverted into the salvage you need. Leftover threads, you can choose to keep or manually turn into something else.
You can change this or turn it off at any point, so if you only wanted to get to the Uncommon of Void, for instance, but go all the way with one of the Ion branches, you could. Or if you wanted to stop and just get a ton of threads to convert into Incarnate XP, you could, then start back up again. Your rewards would be auto-picked (and auto-converted if INF isn't involved) from the trials at the end. If you don't need one of the trial reward table offerings, it would let you pick one after notifying you or you could let it randomly pick and break down into threads or whatever.
I'd really like something like this in place by the time we get to the OTHER five slots, or it's going to be even more confusing of a mess.
(It would look something like this with a path picked and the "auto select" at the bottom of each slot. )

I'm glad it appeals to some people. I think the "not really fun" for me right now is more irritation with the interface (and being lost in a crowd.) There's just not much to these.
Fortunately, two runs let me buy my way through the rest of Judgement, so I'm 1/4 done on one character. (Yes, I broke down the higher merits. Not sure I'm going after the really high tier stuff.)
I will say these really let a good leader (and organizer) shine. -
Quote:Nope, not random, from what I see. It's always the same numbers no matter what. I don't know if the people putting these together can actually see the LFG "queue" (or anyone else can, for that matter,) but it would be a LOT more useful if they could. The problem with the LFG system at the moment is that most people are getting into full leagues before joining the queue, so that people "on their own" so to speak aren't getting into the instances.
I can't speak for the US servers, but certainly in the EU the place to go for getting involved in the trials is Pocket D. There isn't a contact as such, the league leader just joins the LFG queue with enough people to start the trial.
And yes, the "ETA" timer on the LFG tab does appear to be something of a random number generator at the moment
Just as an experiment, I put myself in queue and just waited the other night - standing back around where the tailor is in the RWZ. There were teams forming (and waiting) for people to do trials, and there I was, sitting in LFG. Ideally, the people creating this would be able to open the "LFG Queue" window and send an invite from the people in queue, and the people waiting would be able to see what's forming and being offered.
The LFG interface is pretty nonfunctional, IMHO. I might as well put "Looking for Lambda or BAF" as my SG description for all the good that seems to do. A lot of the interface changes don't seem really well thought out or implemented. (And as for the raids themselves, if it weren't for the grind to unlock this stuff, I don't think I'd do them more than once or twice. They're really not that interesting.) -
Which do you like better?
If I were concentrating on one on each, I'd probably grab the blaster or defender on the first and the huntsman on the other, if they haven't switched sides. Just for variety. -
Nice! I'd say hurry up and get here, but I don't want them to rush anything and screw it up.
