  1. Having played MA/Fire to 50, I would drop any other power before blazing aura, but to be fair I don't mind the animation.
  2. SO's: 3 Damage, 2 EndRed, 1 Acc.

For Frankenslotting or Sets, whatever gets you capped damage and lots of endred.

Damage Auras put out a underappreciated crapton of damage. Take it, slot it, love it.
  3. I went Bots/Dark on mine, although that was mostly for concept/rp reasons.

Loving this thread though, lotta good stuff in here.

    Best power ever!

Invincibility. I'm harder to hit, and you're easier to hit. You're boned. I would take this on every character if I could.

Runner ups: Combat Jumping, Eagles Claw, and Oil Slick Arrow (for the sadist in everyone).
  5. Book (Ron Glass) was in Death at a Funeral which I highly recommend, if only for James Marsden running around high all movie long.

I liked the Cape, but I can see why it bombed. Thankfully Castle seems to be getting better as it goes; or at least maintaining the high quality they started with.
  6. BA will likely be smoother for levelling, with a selection of AoE and ST attacks earlier. SS will likely be better for AoE due to Footstomp. BA is also resisted slightly more that other sets because of its lethal damage. For endgame content and farming, SS is probably the better choice because Footstomp is that good. That said, none of the sets is badly balanced as to be lacking or underwhelming in my experience.

I would go with BA just because you've played a /SS tanker before. Avoid robot enemies and you won't feel like poking your eyes out.
  7. I like to play Trick Arrow because it allows me to support the team without having to actually interact with them. SB PLZ! SB PLZ! SB PLZ! SB PLZ! SB PLZ! SB PLZ! SB PLZ!

    BOOM! Headshot.

Although, I must say I'm warming up to Pain Domination.

I enjoy playing with Empaths, or anyone that can buff me into the magical land of awesomesauce. AB + Fort makes me a happy tanker/scrapper/brute.
  8. The Rage crash isn't really a noticeable issue for an Inv tank, barring a few extraordinary circumstances.

TI, UY, and Invinc should all be taken as soon as they're available, so I wouldn't put off Invincibility even if it's only to 22. I'd also put at least one more slot into it (LotG Defense). The passives really don't need to be that early: I usually take them in the thirties or fourties.

I would five-slot DP with Doctored Wounds for the recharge bonus. Likewise, I'd add one more slot to Taunt for the recharge bonus. There's an extra 12.5% recharge just from moving a single slot.

You probably don't really need Health five slotted. Pull two and find a better spot for them, liken Invincibility.

On the BA build, change the sixth slot in Build Up to another Gaussians for the def bonus.

I wouldn't personally take Unstoppable, but if you want to keep it you could push it back to the last pick to get PP earlier.

I'm sure some mids expert will come along with better advice, but those are a few things I see that I would change.

MA has one attack with KB and with the recent clobberizing of Cobra Strike it can be left out of high-end damage chains. The other 'KB' attack is Dragon's Tail which is knockdown, which keeps enemies close by and makes a great opening attack for splitting up a mob's alpha strike.

I played mine before the buffs to MA and Fire and inherent Fitness, but it was a lot of fun. I built primarily for recharge bonuses to cycle Healing Flames and Consume faster, as well as keep the better MA attacks coming up more often. I haven't played the character in a while, since I don't bother playing characters after they hit 50, but he routinely outlived the willpower scrapper he teamed with.

If I were to do a new build for him, I would aim for perma-Hasten levels of recharge and as much defense as I could squeeze in after that. Another school of thought would be to aim for higher defenses, and then squeeze in a bit of recharge.

    Dual Blades

    Inv/DB is awesome.
  11. Scouts. Imagine a Stalker that doesn't attack, just stealths to the objective and waits.
  12. Wolverine. Hard-R rating for 'torture porn'-esque levels of violence and because he beds every hot woman he comes across. He's the vigilante lovechild of a woodchipper and the energizer bunny, he should definitely **** some **** up.

    FF/DP viable?

Well, I might go with something along these lines while levelling.

I don't plan builds often, so it might not be all that great. I tend to just level and see what happens. Find a power uses a lot of end, throw an extra endred in there the next time I get a slot. I might also drop Vengeance/Aid Other/Aid Self, for Boxing/Tough/Weave for extra toughness. Since I don't play characters after they hit 50, I find planning awesome builds for them to be a waste.
  14. Dechs posted his build here, although that was a long time ago, so he might have changed it up since. 9 pages into that thread was more than enough searching for me though.
  15. Starflier

    How good is WP?

Well, it'll soak up damage really well. As for aggro, that's what taunt/gauntlet is for.
  16. Starflier

    Best AoE

    Anything with Fire.

    Rad/Fire blaster
    Fire/MM blaster
    SS/Fire brute
    Fire/Fire tanker

    all come to mind.
  17. Well, I despise Rainn Wilson, but every other identifiable cast member is awesome so I'll probably catch it. And Slither was a great movie, so hopefully Gunn can keep up the not sucking.
  18. Hugo Weaving is awesome. Unfortunately my brain adds 'Mr. Anderson' to the end of every sentence he says. Made watching the LotR trilogy the other day (more) entertaining.
  19. Just finished reading the original Robert E Howard Conan stories this afternoon. Look forward to it and hope it doesn't suck.
  20. Hurl. It's Haymaker with an 80' range.
  21. "What the hell did you just say!?"

The doctor stood across from Chief Bochco, sweating bullets, and struggling for words. "Well sir, the chemical trace is not residual."

The chief was losing patience. "Yeah, I got that the first time. I'm just trying to figure out what exactly you mean by that."

"Well sir, Dr. Lenkoff originally felt that Officer Hiller's... problems... were a result of extreme drug use causing damage to his adrenal gland. A residual effect. We've been looking into this in the past weeks, and we now believe it's a targetted event."

As the young doctor finished, Chief Bochco sat utterly still. "Poison?"

"Yes, in a manner of speaking. Our testing has shown that he is being given a designer hormone which mimics aspects of adrenaline and superadyne."

He paused for a moment to let that sink in. "Given that the dosage in his system after 'cool down' is still enough to kill five trolls, we're fairly confident that someone is specifically looking to trigger these events. Someone who knows what they're doing."

The chief leaned back in his chair, "So, basically what you're saying is that someone is trying to poison Officer Hiller in the hopes that he 'loses it' and kills someone?"

    "Uh, yes sir."

The chief rose out of his chair slowly, walking around to where the young doctor stood before picking up the phone. "Celia, get Bill Grove to my office. NOW!" He slammed the phone down and spun to face the doctor who took a step back.

"Officer Hiller is surveilled 24 hours a day, every minute of which he is surrounded by either his team, or the officers and staff at the training compound. You understand exactly what it means when you say someone is poisoning him?"

The doctor only nodded. "Good. Then get your *** back to the lab and figure out exactly how they're doing it." The chief's face was turning redder by the moment, and he looked on the verge of 'losing it' himself.

The doctor backed out of the office, muttering a "Yes sir," as he closed the door. As he rushed down the hallway to the elevator he passed Bill Grove, and could only shoot the man a warning glance as he hurried to catch the closing elevator. It dawned on him that this was precisely why Dr. Lenkoff had asked him to deliver the news to the chief.
  22. Storm/Sonic or Trick Arrow/Archery get my votes.
