Take Combat Jumping instead of Group Energy Flight.
Put a recharge instead of a third damage in all your attacks.
Stop being lazy.
Play this peacebringer only on teams; your performance while solo will make you cry. -
The problem with your suggestion is that, simply, the actual base damage over time wouldn't change. Peacebringers have a .85 damage scalar on their ranged attacks. While the individual attacks might hit harder, they still wouldn't hit as hard as most any other ranged attack on other archetypes, AND you lose the benefit of rapid firing procs that can bring the performance of ranged attacks to acceptable levels.
All you're doing is tweaking things so the damage is delivered in bigger but slower chunks, and that's not acceptable. -
Demorecord works differently from the game. All that stuff in those pictures was manually inserted, and all it proves is that the model is capable of having things in the hand while doing animations.
The actual code of the game doesn't allow for it, because the actual code of the game does all these things automatically.
BaBs once said that Brawl was *the* most animation intensive power ever, due to the fact that it's the one power that can be used with weapons in hand. -
Your build, for those who don't have Mids or who want to critique at a glance rather than go through the trouble of importing and exporting.

The "Epic Archetypes Unlocked!" message that pops up on a Praetorian character shouldn't be there. Praetorians cannot unlock Epic archetypes; those are specific to City of Heroes and City of Villains, and Praetorians are in Praetoria, a "neutral" zone.
It's working as intended that the archetypes are not unlocked when you level a Praetorian character to level 20. You must level a Hero (starting in Paragon City) to level 20 to unlock Hero epic archetypes, and you must level a Villain (starting in the Rogue Isles) to level 20 to unlock Villain epic archetypes. -
Looks like it. So much for flight speed enhancements.
-
Now, change the background so you're swinging from one island in Talos to another. See the problem?
-
I've seen "swinging" in another game. Because it's a travel power, it *has* to work in all zones to be viable.
You have no idea how stupid it looks to be "swinging" from thin air. -
That would be a great change. Adding -to hit and -res and -regen debuffs, even if they're small ones, to Peacebringer's attacks would finally make it feel effective in a subtle way. That would fill in the missing "control/debuff" aspect of a Peacebringer and bolster its single target focus.
-
That statement is true, but misleading.
Human form can do more damage overall, because Human form has access to both ranged and melee attacks, but Nova deals more ranged damage.
The assumption that Nova form must do more damage than human form at all times in all circumstances is a mistaken one. It was never the design intent. Nova is just better at range, at base.
And from what it sounded like, you said you wanted the recharge increased, but I didn't see a call to increase damage proportionately. That's why I wondered what the heck you were thinking. I still disagree with the thought process of slowing recharge to boost anemic damage to still anemic levels; the Peacebringer Human Form damage scalar means Peacebringers will always do anemic levels of damage when it comes to ranged attacks. -
The primary reason to play a Peacebringer:
The powers look cool. Peacebringers have a steady, dependable performance level compared to Warshades. They can't reach the peaks a Warshade can, but they don't have the valleys a Warshade does. And they're more versatile than a Warshade is.
My main character is, and continues to be, my level 50 human-form Peacebringer. Can she tank an AV solo? Only as long as Light Form is up and a tray of purple inspirations is handy. Can she defeat an AV solo? Hell no. She has trouble with Elite Bosses at +0/x1. And this is after a few billion inf were poured into her fully IO'd out build along with the Musculature Core Radial for the Alpha slot.
I enjoy playing the character. I enjoy the look of the powers. However, unlike some of the people who post here saying "Everything's fine! Really! No changes needed, it's perfect!" I'm not blind to the very large shortcomings in the Peacebringer's core design. -
On paper, and when the damage output isn't there, Peacebringers survive longer than blasters, this is true.
However, another major form of damage mitigation is killing mobs quickly. Blasters are considerably better at this than Peacebringers. So are Scrappers. So are Widows, Banes, Crabs, Dominators, Corruptors, some Controllers, some Defenders...
And Tankers are more survivable while still putting out similar damage.
As a whole package, my Blasters feel like and are contributing more than my Peacebringer ever will. Peacebringers are NOT tanks. They have insufficient resistances to fill the role. Peacebringers are NOT scrappers; insufficient melee damage. They're not blasters: insufficient ranged damage.
And that's my problem with Peacebringers. They're defined by what they're NOT, not what they ARE. -
And a Night Widow is simply a Blood Widow with elite training. Kind of like a Huntsman is a Wolf Spider with elite training.
-
Tex, he needs more direct instructions than just "update your video card drivers." He's tried that, but through Windows 7.
Visha, here's what you need to do. Do NOT trust Windows 7's auto-update feature for drivers. Go directly to the nVidia site and look for your drivers there. Save the download, and install them from that file.
After that, there might be other issues that I don't see offhand. -
...
I cannot begin to fathom the thought processes that would lead to your wanting to further weaken Peacebringers.
Hint: Nova Form does more damage than Human Form, at range. If it doesn't feel like it, then you're doing something wrong. Asking for the recharge to be increased on the already anemic and slow firing blasts is downright asinine. -
I wish my Peacebringer was as effective, overall, as a Warshade.
-
There was a recent update to Mids which allows you to toggle the display of suppressed vs. unsuppressed powers.
-
I, for one, am still unsure of exactly what you did, step by step. It's a little unclear, and requires a bit of thought to untangle.
From the sound of it, you went to Independence Port as a Rogue, talked to Lauren, and unlocked your level 30 costume slot.
Did you already have your level 20 costume slot unlocked as a Villain by talking to and doing the Facemaker's mission in Cap Au Diable? Did finishing Lauren's mission unlock an additional costume slot, one that shouldn't have been unlocked?
And then you said you went back to Cap Au Diable. Does this mean you returned to do the level 30 Costume Slot mission from whatever the other contact's name is?
What, precisely, is the bug? -
Actually, I loved the PvP revamp. Not the specific numbers. Not the whining and crying about "oh now my PvP build sucks!" Not the lack of interest in PvP; personally I don't give a damn about it.
No, I love the PvP revamp for two reasons:
a: The second build.
b: The splitting of PvP balance and PvE balance.
The second build means those who want to optimize their characters for a specific reason can do so without disturbing their "main" build.
The splitting of PvP from PvE means the development team can tinker with PvP balance all they like without destroying PvE balance at the same time. And that, ultimately, will save the game when the next round of PvP balancing acts comes.
Because, contrary to PvP enthusiast's vocal and misguided opinion, players in general do not like to PvP in MMORPGs, and it has nothing to do with the balance of said game. The mindset required for PvP is not shared by the majority of people who just want to play the game. -
-
Well, that's due to the law of correcting spelling on the internet. Whenever you post a correction, there must also be a corresponding typo. If there isn't, somehow and mysteriously, one will be provided.

Villain, level 20.
As long as it's not a Praetorian, though. Praetorians cannot unlock Hero or Villain epic ATs yet, regardless of which side you choose. -
It's a decent build: you might consider proc'ing up Gleaming Bolt as if it were a Rad Defender's Neutron Bolt because the two powers are basically identical. And it's pretty nasty when proc'ed up.
Devastation: Chance to Hold fires fairly often, and Gleaming Bolt has a wide range of sets to pick from. -
Odd. From the settings in the first post, I assumed Ambient Occlusion was off already. The log seems to say exactly that.
But yes, Ambient Occlusion is a performance hog, basically doing multiple lighting passes as far as I can tell.
