I notice that the Samurai are gone now, as of last night
AE is a carcass, and its being picked cleaner every day. Only the bones remain, theres absoluteley no meat left. -
Quote:Well, its good to have options... If your search for the perfect gamer chick fails, you can jump on the train!I just posted a intro of myself on a free classifieds in my area. I cannot believe there are woman who post for no strings attached relationships. Some that even want a gang of men to meet for an encounter.
Keep in mind, in these situations its best to be the engine rather than the caboose... Choo Choo! -
Hey Look...shiny!
Wait, what were we talking about? -

Level 32: Lightning Rod
- (A) Obliteration - Damage: Level 50
- (48) Obliteration - Accuracy/Recharge: Level 50
- (48) Obliteration - Damage/Recharge: Level 50
- (48) Obliteration - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge: Level 50
Build up too...why would you slot 4 of 5 pieces of a recharge set and not slot the 5th piece? And then trying to get the 5% bonus from efficiency adapters and doctored wounds when you have CI and adjusted targetting and obliteration covering those bonuses if slotted for 5 pieces each... you would have 5x 5% recharge bonuses if you stuck with 5 slots of CIx2, 5 oblits x2, and your adjusted targetting in BU. No need to overslot stamina or EE to shove in doctored or efficiency adapt.
Swift is overslotted. Mud pots is a mess. Stamina is eating up way too many slots... Honestly, I would do a few searches for stone armor builds and poach slotting from them if I were you, because this build probably needs reworking from ground up. -
Hey man, with all the complaining I hear about no good names left, I think this is a pretty cool idea to get some good old fashioned non hyphenated/xXx'ed/number-letter names back on the market.
I wish you luck in your trading endeavors.
If I didnt already have half the cool names on the server I might take you up on onebut i dont want to hog them all.

Quote:Cheese technique? You mean the only way to get significant defdebuff resist. As an aside, does anyone know how much defense debuff resistance a Shield tanker can get (not counting the Hami-O cheese technique in Active Defenses)? I pushed a bit past the soft cap because I wasn't confident in the amount of debuff resistance I'd be getting.
Without slotting Membranes in active defenses, I belive you are looking at about 40% defdebuff resist with slotting (thats without grant cover) with grant cover you might be able to get into the 60+ range... but that means taking and slotting a virtually useless power (at least for soloers- which is 99.9% of farming tanks)
Why go through all that when you can just get massive global recharge, and slap 3 HOs in active defense and rock teh overlapping goodness of defdebuff resist? Oh yeah...I guess cause its cheesy...
I guess I should have named my SD/SS Tank Velveeta. -
Quote:Dude, if we followed the rules you wouldnt have a job...My advice to all those trying to evade the naming policy and "get away with something" is don't.
The gm's deal with this every day. You may have come up with something new, but after 7 years it or something similar has probably already been attempted. Just follow the rules.
So you can count on me to keep you in the chips. Thank me later. -
99% of my game time is spent roleplaying a farmer while solo.

Hehe in a case of perfect timing, I just deleted 3 50s and a few mid 30s from my roster several weeks ago to make more room for new toons...
They could have found new homes on other servers, but alas, they are gone. Oh well, I can visit their graves in Moth cemetary someday if Im feeling sentimental.
The good news is I now have 6 free slots on Protector, but I sure did it the hard way now that the free transfer announcement was made...
doh. -

Quote:Thanks dude. I, for one appreciate it.We wanted to give out something nice for Christmas. I know this is a crazy idea, but we kinda like you guys.
We had to take the character transfer service down in order to make the change to make it free, it's not as simple as setting the price to zero. Also we have to test these things of course to make sure that the changes aren't going to do anything bad. -
Quote:We have all read your posts. They could make a whole game based on the things you do not know about this game- oh wait... they did... its called City of Heroes.Okay. So I'm wrong about it having an acc check but not needing the accuracy check.
Thing is, I haven't ever taken Power Sink, even though I do have an electric armor brute, an electric armor tank, and a couple of defenders that are 47+, so I'm just going on what the power says in the description. Every other +end power I've had, can miss. Which, on both my fire tank and fire scrapper have lead to embarrassing deaths as consume failed to gain any endurance from a single target. I had presumed that Power Sink would be no different. -
Quote:Dude stop using the tags for the intended use which makes makes board navigation too easy and cuts down on mindless posts, and start using them for innane nonsense and cheap shots like the rest of us.I've added the elec/shield tag to your post, as I have with several others. If you click on it, you'll see many posts that pose a similar question. Perhaps you can gain even more insight from some of these.

Quote:If it wasnt for quick katie lewtz i would have quit this game a couple years ago. Without all those numina/miracle/gamblers I would have never had the chance to complete IO builds on my old 50s, plus I dont care what anyone says...I had alot of fun, and met a lot of fun people on those runs.Return KHTF to pre-merit rules and you'll see an army of mid 30's unleashed to replenish that supply...I can dream can't I??
Katie is dead to me now. But I still have the memories ( and all the lvl <35 unique IOs, bishes!)
Seriously, in a game of alts, that brief phase of IO availablity was probably the best thing that ever happened in this game.
It opened the ability for everyone to have fun and build IO sets on characters regardless of how much time in game per day they could spend.
And to me, the $15 a month from a one hour a day player is just the same as the $15 a month from a 12 hour a day player to NCSoft, and it fuelled incentive to build more alts and retain more players for longer peroids of time, because you could actually finish and enjoy builds, instead of grinding for months to outfit a character.
And before someone says I can make 200 million playing the market for an hour a day... I know goddamit, but I dont want to play my hour a day sitting in WW buying IOs -that I cant use because I spend all my time sitting in a store, and not killing mobs with my shiny IOs.
But I digress. Katie is dead, and shes not coming back. We have moved on to a new time in game- one where its near impossible to generate a decent supply of <35 Ios.
Yeah, Im bitter. -
Heh I still remember the days of farming Sirens to get 53 SOs when they were the top of the food chain...
And sirens reward system is still the same. -
Quote:This.I used it once when it first came out and haven't used it since. Rping isn't my thing and I don't enjoy moving at a snails pace so I have no need for walk.
Plus it detoggles me, and I usually run between 4-9 toggles on most toons. So its a whole lot of no fun to retoggle them just to shake my money maker on lady toons for the lulz.
If I really want to see a wiggle, i just call my wife into the room for some made up task, then say nevermind once shes here- then watch her walk out in a huff- this provides the same type of mesmerizing booty fun, but its in real time, and I dont have to retoggle after she yells at me. -
Yeah I dont mind the colored changed heal/end buffs at all- I just look for the effects and monitor my bars above my characters head.
What I do mind is being encased in a black force field... that makes me want to punch a baby seal. -
Yep.
Dont even bother to try and port this craptastic set over to scrappers in its current incarnation. Players begged for years to get EM for scrappers, but proliferating it now would be worthless, as they pulled the teeth out of the set.
Its sad that previously they wouldnt proliferate it because it was deemed to be too powerful for scrappers with crit capability, and now if its proliferated it would fall solidly into last place in the scrapper primary power heirarchy.
EM wasnt hit with a nerf bat, it was hit with a pickaxe. Its quite dead now.
Unless you like punching defeated mobs bodies- in that catagory it leads all sets!

The bottom line is respecs need some streamlining. They are a tedious and necessary function now that IOs have been implemented, and changes to the game make them unavoidable, yet the nature of respeccing means I have many toons left for dead because they are simply more trouble then they are worth to me to try and respec the HOs etc out of them. I earned these rewards, therefore do not wish to just delete them, yet without doing a series of respecs (each of which is tedious and unfun) I cannot really get access to them.
I dont really know how to fix the current system, but I have to agree with the OPs sentiment that it needs change. I literally cant be bothered to spend my one hour a day tops of playtime 5 nights in a row to fully respec toons that need set changes, or HOs removed.
I think big picture-wise, most players would agree the respec system is no fun, yet unavoidable... -
Quote:Are you RPing a basement dwelling mouth breather who nerd rages over changes to a game they havent played in almost 2 years right now?Way to only read part of my post, Dumpleberry. Even when my account was off, that didn't stop me from RPing with people over other programs. I never ONCE said I expected to do what I could pre-I4. Not once. That's an assumption YOU made.
I would have liked to at least be able to take a mob's ALPHA strike without being completely in the red. Maybe then I'd feel like, I dunno, a TANK?
But screw it. The mechanics make no damned sense to me anymore, and I just don't give enough of a damn to bother. I'll just go back to my PS3 until TOR is released. Been fun.
If so good game.
