Does anyone RP on this server?
Well, there are some folks here that will slip into character at a moments notice, and we did have some RP runs of Task Forces. I can say that we do put a lot of thought into how our characters think, given the large amount of fiction we have compiled.
I'm not sure if it'll be enough, but I can say that from my own experience you're not likely to get chewed out for being in character, and it's entirely likely that RP can spontaneously happen once one person has established an RP persona in a team.
The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.
Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.
RP is more of a scheduled event here.
The general run of the mill gaming is not generally RP here on Protector.
I usually slip into character if someone else is, exactly how MIA described it.
But Sooner is right, there isn't a lot.
From my years on Protector, I've seen many themed based toons from DC, Marvel, movies, ect... They do act in those characters from those universes, but they're do it behind closed doors scared of the nerf bat. I've never seen, for instance from Virtue when I was there MCing for the Mr and Ms, open Role Playing of their made up characters in Pocket D.. I've never seen that here.
Although, that doesn't mean if you come in here and start doing it we're going to be like... wth is this person doing and make fun of you. We're RP Friendly as a server.

The Teamsters rp almost all the time.
We also have coalies who rp a lot, frequently joining us.
We have a scheduled rp night on Thursdays, but we also rp spontaneously throughout the week, pretty much whenever we're online. Wasn't the intention of the group, it's just where we ended up. xD Hit me up with a PM if you want more info, I'd be happy to have you on board and I'm sure everyone else would too!
<coughs> I'm usually the one leading the in-character charge on my teams. It happens, but I mostly solo, so it doesn't happen often. Have to admit, I was unaware than an in-character supergroup even existed...
But anyway, if you stumble into me, I'll probably be in-character. Can't speak for anyone else.

99% of my game time is spent roleplaying a farmer while solo.

No 'probably' about it.
I'm looking for a new server to call home, and my only requirement is that there is a decent, not great amount of RP. I've been on Virtue for a long time now, and with the free transfers, I'm looking for a new home.

From what I understand Virtue is the unofficial Role Playing server. It is also one of the busiest servers, next to Freedom. I started a character on Freedom and happened to be playing him last night, because Protector was down most of last night grrrr. The very first team I joined right off the bat had a few obvious role players. I very rarely run across any role playing characters on teams on Protector. I don't role play but decided to try to slip into it. To my surprise it was actually a bit difficult. Once other members start talking about pop culture, try to be funny and such the RP quickly dropped away.
I roleplay some, myself. Usually, it involves channeling and thinking like the character I'm playing as. Sometimes I can push this into full-blown character behavior, however.
I usually try to make it as in-tune to the situation as I can. This usually makes for impersonal RP, but as things tend to go, professional behavior is probably the best course for brief relationships.
My Stories
Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.
I've done some RPs that people have openly expressed satisfaction toward.
I think the best one was on my Kinetic/Electric in a MA farm, RPing as an alien going through a training simulation.
I RP on every character I play, and have a back story for each of them... probably to the annoyance of my SG.
It really depends on the people, some will RP in response to it, others will just do "Dude, wtf?" and then there's ones like the Teamsters, who are always in character, and always fun to hang around.

I didn't give much thought to server selection, as I was saying to someone the other day, because it never so much as occurred to me that someone would interact with the game world as a game and not as a world. I was young and starry-eyed then, but my habits are so deeply ingrained that I don't think I could change them if I wanted to. Of course, I don't want to.

Allow me to repeat myself. Apparently, I didn't sound self-conscious enough.
