    If you make the fire/energy think hard about getting the chance to hold procs and putting them in all fire attacks. This is not optimal for 8v8s because they have a chance to disrupt the mez before the spike.
  2. Just curious about the placate proc. Does it help evasion? I have one and was thinking of using it for Emp/psi as a way to get untargeted and run a little then get back to healing.

    PvP Telekinesis

    Defender epic telekin was the one that was bugged and as far as I can tell it was fixed in i17 patch.

    PFF is still great defense, average toons will prob be shooting 10-20% tohit without additional tohit/ac buffs.
  6. My advice is drop the D3 idea and go with power mastery or psi mastery for epic.

    I would love to go D3 also but dark mastery is lacking for PvP.

    Sidenote- I think the show info numbers in the real game is wrong for leadership. For defenders it seems to be using the tank leadership numbers. I'm guessing this error is just the text not the real attributes of the power.
  8. It seems the problem with defense (as alluded to by earlier post) is +tohit powers that don't have a window- (ie. rage and to a lesser extent FA and Tactics).

    When people build they need to build for specifics and in many common PvP builds they build for +dam/HP/rec. Therefore in most instances they do not have +acc. So I think defense is working fine besides those that can stack tohit.

    The fix I would try is increasing elusivity after the defense character is hit. More consecutive hits=more elusivity. I understand this may bring up other problems (such as tanks with mass hitpoints having mass elusiviy) so it might be like that Simpson's episode when they brought in the lizards to solve the pigeon problem.
  9. I have them in flares,fireblast, blaze on Fire/Em. Works pretty well. Just figured I should get them with fire/EM because of no ranged mez.

    A lot of peeps break out of hibernate when I attack them and I wonder if its the proc?

    CoX Game Engine

    Hi all,

    Not sure what section to put this in but I have a few questions about the CoX game engine.

    Was this engine built from scratch, or is it mod of Quake or some other engine?

    When NCSoft bought CoX was the engine the main part of the deal? Did NCSoft actually purchase the "building" that housed the servers as well as the engine and all intellectual property of CoX?

    The reason I am asking these questions is that I think the engine is a stroke of genius. I think the main programmer should get a shout out, because I have never played such an engrossing powerful, fast, MMO.

    That being said playing with Mission Architect has really given me some great ideas and I would love for NCSoft or some other company/person (Like me!) to make a new game that has not placed limitations on this great engine.

    This game was crazy great when there was no travel suppression or cap on number of pets etc. people affected by powers etc. and I look forward to another game option using the same engine.

  12. Pain Dom has a ball like effect and you can justify the heals and buffs as transferring the powers of those before you in the caves to your allies. Sonic also has that power that makes things bounce off of whom ever you buff with it (an ally repel).

    I do love how kin works with you ideas because not only do you gain power from those before you, you can take power (and endurance) away from your enemies (fulcrum, siphon speed, siphon power) and also give to allies (speed boost/inertial/increase density)

    As for an attack or control set I can not really help as I always come back to stone.

    Where electric/Therm is a slow decent into death after HE, electric/kin is like WHAT THE F JUST HAPPENED ALL BLUE IS GONE!

    Looking at city of data Bitter Ice Blast has more damage than every other teir 3 blast except Blazing arrow and Blaze. Why does this set stink?

    In the new setup I would guess the hold is attractive to drop offensive toggles and BiB hits hard, as well as it being a fast activating attack?

    What am I missing just looking at the numbers?

    How many question marks can I put into one thread???????????
  16. Hi all,

    Im getting close to 28 percent smashing/lethal defense and 30% melee on my fire/fire scrap.

    I will have tough and healing flames to soak up some damage, however my ranged defense (and some others) is negligible.

    I know a lot of ranged attacks will have a smashing and lethal component to them so I may be safe.

    Is my current defense and resist enough to make me ok in all aspects of PVE?

    If not what % defense should i shoot for?

    I think elec/elec can be a viable toon. Personally I would go with brute so you can be elec/elec/elec and drain in the Tru3 W4RR10R contests.

    Jokes aside electric is underrated. Take phase.

    This link really helped me with my build, it makes it tight on electric because of good powers that do not take melee sets, but my invul brute is almost indestructible without unstop using the above guidelines.

    Looks like you may need to think about 6 slotting multi-strikes into your PBAOE powers, but this switches from pure smash/lethal defense to typed (aoe and melee) so im thinking you may have to drop jacobs ladder for charged brawl to get your 3 sets of smashing haymaker or go with a couple kinetic combat in your melees (which includes chain induction!). You also need to get taunt in there somehow...

    edit: looks like you can swap hasten/sspeed for cj/sj for the 2 sets of blessing of the zephyr, the aforementioned jacobs ladder to charged brawl change (for the kinetic combat and/or smashing haymaker) and the unstop to taunt change [note: if you go with perfect zinger you get the psi damage proc in taunt]. It looks like we have no way to get more than 1 patron power due to the need of weave, so I would go with the electric fences from the mu unless you would rather have single target attack.

    This build will allow you to farm merits/tickets so you can eventually get the numina and miracle proc to help end. You will be a hot commodity as you will have rock armor type survivability with one of the top aoe attack sets in the game.

  21. fire/fire is the better squishy killer but for that 10% better offense you give up 50% survivability. You are also locked into phase with a fire/fire if you don't want to purp/pvp IO out. My fire/fire is my favorite toon but no scrap secondary can come close to regen.
