Ehm, AFAIK it should work. It won't be nearly as fast or effective as Fire/Rad or Son/Rad because of how low damage Dark is.
The lack of a tier 3 hurts you, (granted as a Son/Rad I never use Shout because it actually lowers my DPS but Shriek/Scream are good enough to make up for it), but Life Drain is nice as a second self heal I suppose. I haven't looked at Dark Blast in depth in a long time, I dunno whether Life Drain could be worked into your ST chain. For Scrappers Siphon Life is a cornerstone of AV soloing, but it also had its damage buffed.
If you've got enough recharge to make LR perma I'm almost certain you'd be able to solo AVs. I'm not sure about GMs, Dark might not have the DPS for that.
The -tohit stacking with RI and ranged/AoE defense would be pretty nice, albeit heavily resisted. -
Nope.
Going Rogue is supposed to have stuff to develop our 50s more though. No details on how yet though. -
Quote:I've got about 57% smashing and 54% lethal res. Most people farm Nemesis villside who do a lot of fire damage. Its trivial to cap fire res on a /FA character, especially with Temp Prot and/or purple IOs.Out of curiousity, what are folks farming with /fire? 30-50% resists just don't seem to cut it. I know healing flames is beastly. The numbers just seem short.
If you pair it with a high mitigation primary like SS where you're knocking stuff on their ***** every 5-6 seconds and being able to recover half of your healthbar every 15s or so you can take a lot of punishment. Add to that all the inspirations you get from smashing and Fire is plenty tough for farming. -

Quote:Horseshit.
But lets face it, this isnt a technical issue. Its economy. If the max price for something went up to 9,999,999,999, don't you think the PvP and Ultra's would likely also increase in price accordingly? This is not in the best interest of the majority of the players. The inf cap serves its purpose as keeping the economy within certain levels.

Sorry, I thought all the cool kids were doing it.
The PvP IOs and purple IO prices being so high is a result of scarcity, thanks to the AE farming boom and the rep timer on PvP recipes. It's also due to the vastly increased spending power of a 50 since the influence fix.
You already can (and people already do) pay more than 2b for pvp IOs via multiple trades. Prices would not raise accordingly simply because the inf cap got raised. People selling pvp IOs for 3-4b would probably still sell them for 3-4b, it would just be easier. -
Har, if he wants to compare the damage of saturated AAO Shield Charge to BU+Aim boosted Inferno, I say we let him. :3

This. I really wish you could use RotP while alive. Either for damage or survivability, I'm not too fussed. Just atm SD has Fire beat in both departments. IMO FA either needs to be tougher or do more damage.

Quote:Yeah, you do. They'll probably do what they did with CoV at some point in the future and make it so buying one gives access to the other. IIRC that was far down the line from CoV release though.Im just wondering, when Going Rogue goes live, am I going to have to buy a different version for each acct I have?
I dont remember having to do that with CoV, But back then, I think I only had 3-4 accts. If this is correct that i DO have to purchase Rogue for each acct, I will be taking donation from all the friendly heroes of Champion
I guess it depends how patient you're willing to be for each account -

If you really wanted "price gouging" to be diminished you'd be campaigning for more past sales info, not less.
If someone could see a more complete history of the sales of an item they'd be able to make more educated bids. Something could sell for 25m in the mornings but for 50m on evenings/weekends. Assuming it sells with any kind of regularity (like salvage) anyone with little marketing experience trying to buy one in the evening would think 50m is the normal going rate. -
Pretty sure they stack. Stuff like Char/Cages/Ring of Fire definitely do, because the mezzes stack.

Quote:Villains are balanced by the Devs hating themI always found tankers in general to be incredibly boring. I essentially grab as much aggro as the game will allow me, stand around with no fear of death what so ever, and do very mediocre damage. Occasionally things will go badly for someone and I can hope that enough of the enemies that were focused on me have died so that my taunt can grab the things on whatever is in trouble. Or usually, it's better to just let the controller handle it, since he doesn't have some arbitrary hold count.
The only tanker I have enjoyed was Willpower/Super Strength, and I think that was mostly because I could cut loose a bit more with my damage output. I probably should have gone Shield/SS in that regard, but it wasn't out and I'm sure as hell not going to start over.
I don't really like defenders either. Perhaps I'm not really a team oriented person, but I find it easier to be the guy who is self sufficient, rather than hoping that my team has any ability to survive without me holding their hands. That said, I did like Kin, especially after I stopped giving Speed Boost to people. Seriously, it doesn't matter how quick your tier 9 recharges after I went ahead and made ALL your powers a tier 9 when I used Fulcrum Shift. You're WELCOME, by the way. Not that you ever thank ME, you're too busy praising the stupid empath every time green energy shoots out of it's orifices.
That and Corrupters outclass them in every way. My sole Kin defender is very likely going to become a Corr just as soon as GR comes out.
Same thing for any scrapper/brutes I had...
And controller/dominators...
I wonder if villians are balanced by having crappy epic pools, sometimes. -

Ehm, I think you should be able to get pvp recipes in Warburg/Bloody Bay/Sirens Call. If you get rep for a kill, you can get a recipe.
As for levels, god, I dunno. Assuming it works like normal recipe drops when exemplared work they'll be the level of the zone. Like if you get one in Warburg it'll be 38. That's what I'd think, anyway. -
Quote:This is very true. I love how effective WP is, especially for Brutes, I just don't like how uninteractive it is. Toggle up and off you go. Great for people who don't want to have to worry about their secondary, but what I like about sets like Regen or Fire is that you get out of it what you put into it. If you make the effort you can get great rewards. My comment on brute powers is a simple one. The primaries all have their interesting features and advantages. But I cannot imagine creating a brute with a secondary other than Willpower. More than any other AT, a Brute needs to never run low on endurance, and needs to keep going. Willpower's 2 potential endurance recovery powers put it head and shoulders above most other sets; only Electricity and maybe Fire come close, and they don't offer as much survivability IMO.

If I may assist in translation :P
Pool A is stuff that drops from minions. All recipe drops you get from beating something with a stick until it doesn't move anymore = Pool A drops. All generic IO recipes are Pool A drops.
Pool B is the mission completion pool. Recipes that can only drop when you get the mission completion bonus.
Pool C (sometimes referred to now as C/D) is the pool of recipes that are rewards for Task Forces/Trials. It used to be that Task Force and Trial recipes used to be in different pools, with TFs giving Pool C recipes and Respec Trials/Hami raids giving Pool D recipes. This got changed a while back. Pool C is also the pool of recipes that bosses can drop, but very rarely.
Hope that helps to clarify. -
No, I agree with you, power lag makes a big difference. It's not so bad fighting the generals/computer but can get really awful fighting Rom which is where it really counts.
I'd say it makes a difference of at least 30-90 seconds, if not more. If you think about it, it grinds the team down to like one power every 5-10 seconds. Not to mention screwing with perception of recharges on important powers.
But yeah, ITF has always been plagued with lag on all servers AFAIK. Some patches it gets better, some patches it gets worse. I think its due to the huge amounts of ambushes that get spawned all the time. I don't get why the Devs don't just vastly cut down on the number of ambushes and just increase the spawns standing around.
Huge ambushes are epic, playing a slideshow is not. -
While defense is always nice, I would say most important is to get high recharge for Heatloss/your AoE controls back up again as soon as possible.
If you do build for defense, S/L would be your best bet because you can take either the Stone or Ice APP armors. -
If Controllers get /Poison and Corrs don't I shall scweam and I shall scweam and I shall scweam until my face goes blue.
Srsly though, Traps would be awesome for Controllers. Ill/Traps or Fire/Traps would be beastly on TFs. -
If I'm around I'll help out. The likelihood of me having passed out by then is high, however.
I would be bringing one of my Corrs. For Great (in)Justice.
