Quote:I agree with you. It's just always a good idea to keep your mind open to the possibilities. And that was a cool videoHe may have... But there may be more to it, beyond the eye-witness.
For example, perhaps the government of said nation forbade him from interfering? Or wouldn't submit to his demands of fealty for his help. So he let -them- die, then saved the remaining people of Rome.
That's the problem with an eye-witness. they can only tell you what they, themselves, saw. Not what actually happened.
And for those who scoff at that statement I give you This. Just because you -saw- something doesn't mean it actually happened in exactly the way you saw it.

Quote:While I agree that Praetoria needs to be protected, I do believe that things need to change. As UberRod pointed out in a previous post, I think it's important to remember Praetoria is a city that has been under seige for many years, and may be the last remaining Human city on the Earth (which begs the question of if the ships in the docks or the planes at the airport have any place to go). Under such conditions, it is very understandable that good people would support actions that would be unthinkable to them in a peacetime setting.
Sort of like a house in a zombie movie with a bunch of strict-minded police trying to keep every window and door closed while the civilians inside cry for them to open the door and see if the zombies are really gone. Are the police just trying to be power-mad jerks, or will opening any door be the mistake that brings up the credits because the movie is over?
I love how 'grey' Praetoria is, because that's exactly how such a city would be compared with Primal Paragon City and the Rogue Islands. I also love the 'modern/real world' look to Praetoria, which definitely sets a more realistic tone for the place (Paragon City always looked like a hyper-evolved 1930-1950 city and the Rogue Islands colonial or Evil-Fortess type cities, perfectly fitting for each of their type of inhabitants). Reminds me of the film 'The Last Action Hero', when the villian tells the hero what he likes about the 'real' world..."Because here, the bad guys can win!!"
Praetoria has to be the best thought-out and realized addition to COH I have ever seen. I am in amazement as to how well the team put together a world that not only was consistently 'grey' in morality, but made sense that it would be that way.
SPOILERS
You can't forget one of the reasons why Praetoria might be the last humanity on earth. Cole stood around and watched Rome burn. (If we are to believe the eye witness that is.) -
I love the idea. Since you'd have to spend a power choice to get these it really gives the thought of truly mastering that pool. If someone on a team had Inspire Confidence then people will love them! That would be really nice.
I also think that if Super Jump got Extraordinary Leap, then Teleport should get Dimension Rift. As not to step on each other's toes. And if Teleport did get Greater Teleport, then perhaps Super Jump could get a lightning rod-esque attack? You jump into the air and land in a group of enemies with great force, causing moderate damage and chance for knockdown. -
By it's size, it would seem that playing solo would be pretty manageable. Just don't try to read text. This thing will either flop, or it will become popular and everyone will start making products like it. excited!

Quote:But as they explain, if you put two of these facing eachother, then you could move an object in either direction by manipulating the amount and intensity of light produced.... Not really...
Tractor Beam grapples and moves an object, can even pull an object
This takes a beam of light and hits an object in a direction...
If anything this is a repulsor beam, not a tractor beam
I think this is very cool! -
This video made me lol!
Things I loved:
1: The music
2: Your voice!
I think the Hellion was practicing for a decathalon or something. I always loved how they jump onto the electrical wires, these guys are athletic! -
Hmm... Do you have any tips? Maybe it's counting unclaimed tip missions?
-
So I just changed the options for my messages and I want to test. TEST
Eureka!

He survived all of the ambushes without getting hurt.
He ran a mission with Fussionette, and kept her alive.
He used self destruct and didn't die. -
This wasn't on the army of me mission, it was on the hero side clone mission, but fighting a KM/DA brute clone was annoying. The annoying part was that he always had Cloak of Darkness. The battle went like this "Where the heck is..." *KNOCKBACK!*

Quote:This would seem to make sense. Especially since you usually start off with build up/ AS and the like, causing the first guy or two to go down fast, which would activate the grief flag. Not saying that this shouldn't be looked at, but...There's a Castle post about this... ahh, here

Seems to me lately that as soon as a scrapper walks into a room "morale breaks."
Or the enemies aren't running away at all and are instead deciding that they'll take less damage from range so they get out of melee and revert to ranged attacks.
I don't know, obviously. I'm sick of it happening as well. -
I get the same problem. After I log in I can't see any new posts because "I already read it".

I believe there is an X-Men character who's organs are giant leaches that act as his stomach. He can call them out to fight for him. Yeah.
Immortality, it would stink. You can't die, ever. Theres an earthquake and you get buried in the basement of a huge building. How long would you have to stay there till someone found you? Also, the world ends, maybe the sun explodes or something. This leaves you floating through space for eternity. You would see all of your friends and family, everyone you care for, die. -
I love how some things just work out perfectly like that. I tried to get it once, but after I exploded I realized I was still a bar short. :S
One of the most cinematically awesome happenings I can think of would be standing on the ledge of a tall building, and using jump kick to knock off an enemy, which the resulting fall kills. -
Oh and #6 just creeped me out.

#2 is my favorite. It took me awhile but once I figured it out, but once I did... Thats messed up! -
To any of you who haven't played the half life series, I highly suggest it. But anyway, go and YouTube Gman, this will probably put the joke into context.

I had this problem twice tonight so I thought I'd bring it up. (Sorry if it's a known issue but I haven't seen anything on it.)
Ok, here's the scenario: I get on a team in Praetoria and am SSK'd up to 19. Team starts disbanding, I nver hit the quit button, everyone else did. So, team is gone, but what's this? The little orange numbers still show me as level 19. I check some mobs that should be showing up as at least blue, and yep they con grey. Soon I join another team and am exemplared down to level 10. Again, team disbands. Same problem happens. I did learn a few things though:
1:Training up doesn't seem to fix the problem.
2: Zoning though, would seem to fix it. -
Win. So much win. I'm on a horse.

Quote:"Ok guys and gals! For this course you will be required to play through Praetoria at least once. And no Powerleveling!"I've heard that a lot, which is why I bought it. Still haven't played it, though.
Going Rogue is having that effect on me, though.
In all seriousness though, Praetoria would make for a great class discussion. There's politics, ethics, morals, and the good of the few versus the good of the many. Heck, Praetoria even has it's own green club, the devouring earth! -
I could find them in the trading house in Praetoria. Descriptions and all. But they aren't in game yet.

Quote:I agreed with about everything you said until this. There are other mental problems that are legitimate. I know what you are saying, people make excuses all the time, but there ARE many mental issues that aren't just enabling people to make dumb decisons. The following are the only legitimate mental disorders, every other is just an excuse to enable bad behavior:
Schizophrenia (and it's little brother, paranoia)
Multiple Personalities
Psychopathy and Sociopathy (i.e., being EVIL)
Retardation
REAL Bipolar Disorder (as in, uncontrollable rage followed by attempted suicide, not just using it as an excuse to be a weepy wuss and a huge jerk in the same sentence)
That's it. I do not believe in any other mental disorders. At all. Citing them does nothing against my argument because my argument is that they are not real.
For example, I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Did I make up this disorder so I can excuse the thoughts that I absolutely hate that pop into my head and torture me? No, no I didn't. -
I have never seen this many people playing. 3( or 4) servers queued, and all the other ones are in yellow. Wow!
